Dastoor Sayyidee, yaa RijaalAllah. (Mawlana Shaykh stands) laa ilaaha illa-Llah. laa ilaaha illa-Llah. laa ilaaha illa-Llah. laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah `alayhi salaatullah wa salaamuh. (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) As-salaamu `alaykum yaa `ibaadullahi ‘s-saaliheen. Say, a`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.
O our Attenders, from ins wa ’l-jinn (mankind and jinn) on this planet, who are carrying the responsibility of worshipping. There are countless kinds of creatures living on this planet, dunya, but only humans and jinns carry responsibility for being servants of Allah Almighty! (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Subhaanahu wa ta`ala. Anta rabbunaa, Anta hasbuna, Anta waliyyunaa, Anta ni`mal mawla wa ni`ma’n-naseer! We asking Your forgiveness for the honor of Your most glorified one in Your Divinely Presence, Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! (Mawlana Shaykh sits)
O our Attenders! Who claim you know something or that you are learned ones, whatever you learned cannot be more than an atom, bi nisbah, according to the greatness of this planet, dunya! But you claim, "We know, we learned." What you learned? Tell me, how tall are you? They are saying, "We don't know." You are not knowing about your height and you are saying, "We know, we are learned ones." What you learned? SubhaanAllahi ‘l-`Aliyyi ‘l-`Azheem!
Man is the most proud one among all Creation. The seed of pride is put in their ego. For what they are claiming, "We are proud ones because we are masters of Creation." If you are living, not 70 or 100 years or 1,000 years or a million or billion years, you can't learn anything if you are proud! It is not enough. Because everything, Shaykh Hisham, in Creation, each one is granted one sirr, secret. But that is not enough for some wisdom. Everything carries a wisdom from huge Wisdom Oceans that are so big, no creature knows its beginning or end, they may only know something was put in it. (Like that), also when Man was created, a seed of hidden wisdom put in it. So leave what is around yourself and look within yourself!
Man is using mighty microscopes to see something. Why are you not making a mighty microscope for yourself? But they are making research with mighty microscopes to know about the smallest creation to know about themselves, and it is impossible, it is not enough! Perhaps you may see, but you can't understand the wisdom put in that one coming in existence with that secret purpose! And Allah Almighty says in Holy Qur'an: (Mawlana Shaykh stands)
رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذا بَاطِلاًِ
Rabbana maa khalaqta haadha baatila.
O our Lord! You did not create that in vain. (3:191)
Allahu Akbar! (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) You are Arabs, saying, "We are learned people." You are understanding what is heavenly wisdom, when the Lord of Heavens makes and brings countless kinds of beings into existence, but no one knows the real purpose about the Creation. Therefore, they are only saying, Rabbana maa khalaqta haadha baatila, سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ subhaanaka fee qinaa adhaaba ’n-naar, "O our Creator, You created this! Glory to You! Don’t let punishment of Hellfire come on us.”
Haadha, this you created, O our Creator. What You created is not without a purpose, haadha. Arabs know more than other nations. What does it mean, haadha ishaaratun ila mawjood? It shows a point in existence, and saying finally our understanding is going to disappear, finish. And then we are saying, Rabbana maa khalaqta haadha baatila. “We don't know for what You created; there must be some purpose for the creation of that one.” They are not going so deeply, but we may speak about humanity. Because sometimes people may say, “That servant of our Lord is speaking such points from Creation, we are not able to follow him.” Yes, it is true, but Allah `azza wa jalla subhaanahu wa ta`ala, is granting for Man whom they are masters of this Creation.(Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Asta`eedhu billah, Allah subhaanahu wa ta`la yaqool jalla min qaail:
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ
wa laqad karramna bani Adam.
And We have honored human beings. (17:70)
(Mawlana Shaykh sits.) He Almighty, The Creator, is praising Man among all Creation, saying, wa laqad, giving His Divinely Oath, “We created Man and granted them takreem, heavenly honor." That honor has never been granted to any other Creation! Therefore, we are speaking on something from smallest ones, but our target is to reach from that smallest representative of generations, to reach Man. If that smallest creature received such deep secret wisdoms, what about Man? And particularly, the Lord of Heavens is giving His oath, wa laqad karramna, "We granted to them such an honor." No one knows the real honor granted to Man, allahuma, We only know, “According to their levels of understanding, We are granting them.” But no one can reach that honor granted to him by our Creator for us.
O Salafi `ulama! Marhaban! Marhaban! Did you ever open and speak on that holy verse that Allah (swt) is sending Archangel Gabriel in Holy Qur’an to His most beloved, most learned one? Because you are teachers from yourself (self taught), but the teacher of Nabiyyi-l-Ummiyy, “I am that one. I taught My most beloved one! Don't make discussions on his knowledge, on his speeches, on his declarations. Don't use a scale on it; that is not for you. You must say only:
رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلَتْ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Rabbana aamanna bimaa anzalta wa ‘taba`na ar-rasoola f ’aktubna ma`a ash-shaahideen
O our Lord! We believe in the Qur’an and we are following the Seal of Prophets, so write us among the witnesses. (3:53)
All people who have have been mukallaf, responsible for being servants of the Lord of Heavens, must say finally, Rabbana maa khalaqta haadha baatila. Subhaanak wa qinaa adhaaba ‘n-naar. Wa laqad karramna bani Adam. Through oceans, through oceans, through mighty majestic dominions that belongs to the Lord's Divinely Presence! You must say only, Rabbana aamanna bimaa anzalta wa ’taba`na ar-rasoola faktubna ma`a ash-shaahideen, itaba`na ar-rasoola. You must follow the Seal of Prophets (s), but Salafi `ulamas, Azhari ‘sh-Shareef `ulamas, doctors of Shari`ah, you are always using new, fashionable dressings. You are saying, "We must show ourselves that we follow modernity and modern lifestyles, so that people may come and listen to our speeches. We are not using that before our times, when people didn’t care about modernizing, but we are following the latest fashionable dressings and modernized lifestyle." Mashaa-Allah!
No, you can't do that. You must try to dress according to what Allah Almighty is saying, O Salaafu ‘s-Saalih! (Mawlana Shaykh stands.)
وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىَ ذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ
Wa libaasu ‘t-taqwa dhaalika khayrun,
The dress of righteousness is better. (7:26)
Where is your dress of taqwa? Where? Say! I am asking for all malooks also, and all `ulamas, doctors, Salafi `ulama, that Allah Almighty is saying, “Dhaalika taqwa, libaasu ‘t-taqwa huwa khayrun. (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)
Which one is now dressing libaasu ‘t-taqwa? Send to me, O Salafi `ulamas or doctors of Shari’ah. Wa dhaalika libaasu ‘t-taqwa. Where is it? In your museums or in your books that you are looking and seeing there are pictures; you are keeping it there? Why are you not using it? And the Lord of Heavens has forbidden through holy Shari'atullah to use raqeeq, very thin (transparent) clothes. Where they are? They are never using libaasu ‘t-taqwa. Libaasu ‘t-taqwa is not modernized dressing, and never using very thin clothes. No, they must keep (this command)! Because as much as you are using modernized clothes, you are going to your graveyard and those clothes will be taken from you and you are going to be put in your coffin. You can't take such fashionable dressings to your graveyard, no!
Say (admit) that you are not following the ways of prophets, no. Why?
فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا
F ’attabi`nee ahdika siraatan sawiyya
Follow me and I will guide you along the Straight Path. (19:43)
F ’attabi`a, follow some ones who know the value of this life, dunya. But you are following your egoistic desires and so no one cares about what you are saying! You and a cassette are the same. But people are asking to look at a person who carries the secret power of Prophet (s); they like it. They don't like who is dressing in every new, fashionable, modern dressings. There is no modernizing in Islam (because Islam is perfect)!
Say during the Jumu`ah khutbah. Why are you not saying, “Follow the ways of those people,” as Allah Almighty is saying, (Mawlana Shaykh stands.)
وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّ
wattabi` sabeela man anaaba ilayya.
and follow the path of those who turn towards Me. (Suratu‘l-Luqmaan 31:15)
“Follow those people who are accepting and coming to Me!” (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) That holy verse is a deep ocean! Are you understanding or not?
O Azhari ’sh-Shareef `ulama! Those people have only been living in the past or are they yet in existence, in our days also? “Follow! Follow,” Allah Almighty is ordering! “Follow the steps of those whom their real target is My pleasure. They are trying only to make Me pleased with them and they are asking only pleasure from Me, not from anything in the material world."
Where are they? Did you find one? If they say, “They were only ‘once upon a time,’ and now they are finished,” that can't be; they are now also. But you are not asking; you are fearing from your ladies, because ladies like to be the most fashionable among their aqraab, community. You fear them and therefore you can't use such dressings of awliyaullah, the most beloved ones in the Divine Presence! You can't follow them because your wives never want that from their husbands, to be in such a way, not to use Cadillac cars! How I am knowing it? I heard from someone that there is also another car, a “WC” car. A`oodhu billah! WC car! One person was saying, "O Shaykh Effendi, when they are asking to do something in that car, there is also a very famous WC car!" Sleep in a car, in WC. They are following hawaa an-nafs, selfish desires, the worst desire coming from our egos. May Allah forgive us!
O People! Try to follow one who is saying only, illa-Llah! illa-Llah! illa-Llah! But people are preventing this to be said in mosques, laa ilaaha illa-Llah, because instead of laa ilaaha illa-Llah they are saying laa ilaaha illa ’d-dunya. A`oodhu billah! A`oodhu billah! A`oodhu billah! laa ilaaha illa-Llah! (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Prophet (s) said:
وقال صلى الله تعالى عليه وسلم أفضل كلمة قالها النبيون من قبلي لا إله إلا الله
Afdalu kalimatun qaalahaa an-nabiyyoona min qablee laa ilaaha illa-Llah.
The most preferred speech of the prophets before me was laa ilaaha illa-Llah.
Is this a hadith or not? Why are you preventing people when they are coming and sitting and saying, laa ilaaha illa-Llah; you say it is bid`a! From where do you bring such foolish orders? (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) And the Seal of Prophets (s) is saying, fdalu kalimatun qaalahaa an-nabiyyoona min qablee laa ilaaha illa-Llah. Who prevents people to sit and say: laa ilaaha illa-Llah by saying “That is bid`a!” Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection for all people, asta`eedhu billah: (Mawlana Shaykh stands.)
وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُم مَّسْئُولُونَ
waqifoohum innahum masooluoon.
Stop them, for they will be questioned. (37:24)
(Mawlana Shaykh sits.) O waylun li ’l-`Arab! They should be asked from beginning up to end. Nahnu a`ajim, badeetha, shoo `aarisun nahnahu... laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah! “Yallah! (Enter) Jannah, Paradise.” For Arabs: wa qifoohum innahum masoolun.” Bushraa lanaa m`asharal Islam! Bushraa lanaa ayyuha ’s-Salaafu ‘s-Saaliheen. (laughter) (Mawlana Shaykh sits.) “Waqifoohum nahnakum ya rabbana?” Nahnu naqool hadhawl qudamana (we say ‘they are leading us,’ steering wheel (motions like driving a car.) Nahnu jaaliseen, laakin (We are only sitting but those who are steering are Arab.) “Where is your hawiyyah (id card)?” (Mawlana acts like an officer at a checkpoint.) Arab? ... “Take them, open little Arab! (laughs) Jumbush var kiyamet gununde, revelry on the Day of Resurrection.
O People! Come and try to be as our Lord is asking from His servants. O our Lord, forgive us, Allahuma ighfir lana w ’arhamna wa tub `alayna ya Rabbana bi jaahi man anzalta `alayhi Suratu ’l-Fatiha.
(Mawlana Shaykh prays 2 raka`at Salaat ‘ash-Shukr.)
Is Shaykh Hisham on the telephone? Shaykh Hisham Effendi? (Mawlana Shaykh and Shaykh Hisham pretend to speak on the phone, laughing.)
Allah, Allah. Allah Allah.
