Advice to Ladies on Attire and Pregnancy

Sultan al-Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani

24 February 2011 Lefke, Cyprus

(Translated from Turkish)

What will be our response? Allah will ask, “Were you afraid of My servants to speak the truth?” That is why that imaam left a mustache. Even the monks have kept their beards; they never changed the way they dress.

(A lady guest: Okay, from now on we will not dress like this (wear pants), we will start wearing skirts.)

(Mawlana Shaykh Nazim smiles and is pleased.) Thank you! May it be destined for you to go for hajj. I will make khayr du`as, prayers of blessings/goodness for you. (Ameen, inshaa-Allah!)

(Mawlana Shaykh Nazim speaks to another lady.) When you get pregnant, do not go to the doctors; a midwife will be sufficient. If not, they are bringing many disabled children to me, all because of these machines doctors put on their bellies. And after they spoil it, they come to me and say, “Come Shaykh Effendi, pray to fix this situation!” Well you ruined it, so how shall I fix it now?

Pay attention to this, Hajji Effendi. Warn them! A midwife can deliver a whole village or a whole city! Now the doctors use machines right away, saying, “Cut her belly!” A baby knows where to come from; it will come out from where it entered, but who to explain this to? No one will understand.
