Suhbah at Manor House
[Khatm al-Khwajagan.] A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. [Du`a.]
محمد بشر وليس كالبشر بل هو ياقوتة والناس كالحجر
هو الحبيب الذي ترجى شفاعته, لكل هولٍ من الأهوال مقتحم
Muhammad basharun wa laysa ka ‘l-bashari huwa yaaqootatun wa naasu ka ‘l-hajari.
Huwa ‘l-Habeebu ’Lladhee turjaa shafa`atahu, li kulli hawlin min al-ahwaali muqtahimi.
Muhammad is a man, but not like other men!
He is a gem and human beings are stones.
He is the Beloved whose Intercession is dearly hoped,
for each disaster of the disasters that shall befall!
(Imam Muhammad al-Busayri, Qasidat al-Burdat ash-Shareefah)
`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. (Du`a.)
Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! All people are asking to be with you and we hope that we have a turn to be with you! We are sinners, we are people who don't deserve anything, but you are the Generous One, you are the one that Allah has sent as Mercy, as Rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen! You are the one who will petition in front of Allah (swt)! (Anta ‘l-habeeb… Huwa ‘l-habeeb!). The wali who wrote that qasidah, when he said, Huwa ‘l-habeebu ’Lladhee turjaa shafa`atahu, “He is the Beloved One,” or “the Loved One,” which is better, from Allah (swt), but us, our love is imitation, plastic. Huwa ‘l-habeeb means, “There is no other habeeb than him!” He is the one that has been loved and because of that, his shafa`ah shall be accepted! Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! We are orphans, don't leave us as orphans!
ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ
Call them by (the names of) their fathers. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:5)
You are our father, yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! You are our father in dunya and Akhirah, and a father takes care of his children, and we are your children. That is why Muhammad al-Busayri (q) knew the reality that Allah opened to him through the Door of the Divine Presence that “he,” huwa, goes back to the Prophet (s) in the ayah:
قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only. (Surat al-Ikhlaas, 112:1)
In this ayah “He” points to Allah, but in this poem it goes to the Prophet (s). He is the one in-between everyone in this universe: from among all Creation that Allah created, he is the Loved One! Say, “SubhaanAllah, labbayk allahumma labbayk, labbayka laa shareeka lak labayk! Bismillah, Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!”
So he said, “I don’t want to lose my time here and there.” I look at that wali or that one, or that one who speaks about awliya, but he is involved in dunya and the whole dunya is dressing him, and people are listening and following this one and that. No! Focus on huwa ‘l-Habeeb, focus on the Prophet (s) through our shaykh, who will guide us towards that door! You don’t need here and there, it only gives you a headache.
They asked Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), “What will happen after you?”
He said, “Nothing.”
“What will happen to the zawiya after you?”
He said, “Nothing, people will come eat and drink, and go.”
So what’s happening now? Everyone comes, eats and drinks, and goes. They asked, as everyone can ask a question, so Mawlana said, “People will find someone they like, dunya is big and they will follow.” These are not my words, but Mawlana’s words to a reporter. So why waste time? Our shaykh is Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim (q): we extended our hands to him and to Shaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q), like two wings of a plane that can move now, but to where? The shaykh has to carry his mureeds. He moves them to the Prophet (s), to the Habeeb, the One Being Loved! He will not send you to the one who is not being loved!
Everything the Loved One asks Allah gives and his Intercession is sought after. It is something you wish for, that he is the Loved One, he is the Intercessor for everyone in dunya and Akhirah! Nothing happens in dunya or Akhirah without his knowledge! Allah gave him `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ‘l-Akhireen, the Knowledge of Before and After, not just one `ilm! He didn’t say `Ilm al-Awwaleen, “Knowledge of Before,” He said “`Uloom,” which is plural, “knowledges.” What kind of knowledges did Allah give to the Prophet (s)? Do you think when Allah gives and opens that it is bi hisaab or bi ghayri hisaab? Where is the ayah in Qur’an that mentions “bi ghayri hisaab”?
إن في أصلاب أصلاب أصلاب رجال من أصحابي رجالا ونساء من أمتي يدخلون الجنة بغير حساب
Verily in the loins of the loins of the loins of men from my Companions are men and women of my Nation who will enter Paradise with no account. (al-Tabarani)
إِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ الْكَوْثَرَ
Inna `ataynaka al-kawthar.
To you We have granted the Fount (of Abundance). (Surat al-Kawthar, 108:1)
An abundance of knowledge, or a river? “We gave you too much!” Al-Katheer means “abundant,” it never ends, you cannot count it! Allah (swt) gave that to the Prophet (s)! For every child born in Ummat an-Nabi (s) the Prophet (s) is present, because he is from his Ummah: he is the Loved One and he has to be with the one who is loving him, and if you are from a loving mother and father that child will be clean, innocent! O Muslims! We need to be clean. How? To be under the shafa`ah of the Prophet (s).
SEEK REFUGE FROM HAWL
Huwa ‘l-habeebu ’Lladhee turjaa shafa`atahu, li kulli hawlin min al-ahwali muqtahimi.
He is the Beloved of the One, whose intercession we seek, (from) all the woes that have descended upon the humans. (Shaykh Muhammad al-Busayri, Burdat ash-Shareefah)
You ask for his Intercession, from what? Min al-ahwali. What is hawl in Arabic? Li kulli hawlin min al-ahwali muqtahimi. You seek his Intercession on hawl, which is every big problem you cannot imagine in your life!
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
Idhaa zulzilati ’l-ardu zilzaalahaa.
When the Earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion. (Surat az-Zalzalah, 99:1)
When the earth shakes, thiatis hawl, terrible! When the fire comes to eat everything, homes and men, like the flood of Sayyidina Nuh (a), that is hawl! Like the fire of Nimrood that wants to burn Sayyidina Ibraheem (a), that is hawl! Safinat an-Najaat moving in huge horrific waves, that is hawl! When coming in front of Shaytan, Sayyidina Musa (a) was afraid and shaking, and Allah (swt) said to him, “Stand fast, you are the winner,” that is hawl! When they wanted to crucify Sayyidina `Isa (a) and Allah (swt) raised him to the First Heaven, that is hawl! Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is sacrificing himself, carrying every hawl, sacrificing himself for his ummah! So you think about yourself, how small you are, so small that you are not even existing!
Alhamdulillahi’ ladhee khalaqa’ l-khalq min `adamin thumma `adamahu.
Praise be to the One Who created the Creation from non-Existence then made it non-existent.
TIME AND JUDGEMENT
He created Creation from nothing! Kun! Fayakoon appeared from nowhere, then destroyed them, hid them! He created them and made them disappear completely, that moment between when He created Creation from nothing and “fa `adama,” another time, that fraction of a moment, the smallest possible point of time, because time is imaginary, in Physics there is no time. When they calculated time, when they counted how far the fraction can go to see where the time ends, when it becomes 00000000000000000000000.1 (23 zeros), time disappears! This is Quantum Physics, in which everything goes to energy, `adam. “Fa `adama”, annihilated completely, disappeared! So that fraction of that time is what we are seeing now, 1,500 years.
In Tafseer Surat al-`Asr:
وَالْعَصْرِإِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Wa ‘l-`asr inna ’l-insaana la-fee khusr.
By al-'Asr (the time)! Verily, Mankind is in loss. (Surat al-`Asr, 103:1-2)
Wa ‘l-`asr inna ’l-insaana la-fee khusr, Allah (swt) is giving an oath in `asr, which can be Salaat al-`Asr time; it can be the life of Prophet (s), which is 63 years; it can be the time until Day of Judgement. Muhiyuddeen ibn Arabi (q) said, “I saw Rasoolullah (s) in my dream; I asked him about this hadith and he (s) said it is sahih.”
قال سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إن صلحت أمتي فلها يوم وإن فسدت فلها نصف يوم واليوم رباني فإن أيام الرب كل يوم ألف سنة مما يعد.
Rasoolullah (s) says:
In saluhat ummatee falahaa ma`ayshata yawm wa in fasudat lahaa ma`ayashat nisfa yawm.
If my ummah is good Allah will give the ummah the age of one day, and if it is corrupted Allah will give it the age of half a day and verily a Day in the Eyes of the Lord is 1,000 years of what we reckon. (Al-Munawi cites it in Fayd al-Qadeer, from Shaykh Muhiyuddeen Ibn `Arabi)
In saluhat ummatee falahaa ma`ayshata yawm wa in fasudat lahaa ma`ayashat nisfa yawm.
If my ummah is good Allah will give the ummah the age of one day, and if it is corrupted Allah will give it the age of half a day. (Al-Munawi in Fayd al-Qadeer, from Shaykh Muhiyuddeen Ibn `Arabi.)
And ‘one day’ is 1,000 years of dunya life, so for 1,000 years the Ummah was on the rise, until our Grandshaykh Ahmad al-Faruqi as-Sirhindi’s time, one of the greatest shuyukh of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain. Now after him the Ummah is in decline and already 1435 years have passed, so there are just 65 years to reach 1,500 years.
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
Iqtarabat as-saa`atu wa ’nshaqqa ‘l-qamar.
The Hour (of Judgement) is nigh and the moon is cleft asunder. (Surat al-Qamar, 54:1)
“The Day of Judgement is coming nearer and nearer.” This [ayah was revealed] when the moon was split in the time of Prophet (s).
O Muslims, mu’mins! Tariqah is not something we have to fight for! It’s like the madhaahib: if you don't want to follow Shaafi`i, you follow Hanafi or Maliki or Hanbali. There are shuyukh for all four madhaahib and you are free to follow anyone. These are the four unanimously accepted schools, bi ‘l-ijma`a. One `alim in al-Azhar Shareef counted all the madhaahib in Islam and said there are 472 madhaahib, and all have their shuyookh, all with their turuq!
Last Saturday we were at an event in Walthamstow with Sahibzada Naqeeb ur-Rahman. I was told in Pakistan they have five million mureeds, all disciplined. They liked what I said and invited me to their big conference in Pakistan in June, before Ramadan, to give a speech. Five million mureeds. Here we are a few and everyone is pulling the carpet from under the other! For what? You want the chair? Take it! But don’t curse, don’t try to pull the carpet from under others, because sometimes there are lions waiting, so be careful. Everyone, when they want to lift a carpet to another side, they are worried there are worms or spiders etc. to bite you, so be careful. Keep everyone happy as they are. Mawlana is not going to run away, to where he is going to run away from his followers?
The Prophet (s) said, “My death is better for you than my life.” Prophet (s) gives more to his ummah after his death than during his life. Power!
My life is good for you as you will relate from me and it will be related to you, and when I die my passing will be better for you; my death is better for you than my life. I observe your deeds. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see bad, I ask forgiveness for you. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)
Awliyaullah are inheriting from Prophet (s); who they love they give power.
INSPECTORS
Now we are hearing about ‘inspectors’; who are they, do you know them? Is it Inspector Gadget? [Laughter.] There is no such thing in Tariqah; our inspector is our shaykh directly! And I’ll tell you a story of why there is no need to inspect. I was young, studying in university, and I had a test in Chemistry, and it came to my heart to drive the car and go to Grandshaykh (q), because we used to always go visit him, but I had a big test.
My mother was angry and said, “Don’t go!”
I said, “No I have to go; I don’t know why, but Grandshaykh is telling me to come (via inspiration)!”
This happens, people say, “We are getting inspiration from Mawlana,” and this is all in their imagination.
So I said, “I am getting inspiration.” What inspiration? Now we learned what is true inspiration really and what is not! I said, “I am going.”
She said, “Don’t go!”
I said, “No, I’m going!”
I took the key and drove three hours to Damascus, to the shaykh, went to his door and Grandshaykh opened the door and said, “Go back from where you came!” Do they need inspectors? “Go back! Don't you know that Paradise is under the feet of the mother? Make your mother happy and if she gives permission, then come to me.”
How he knew? There was no inspector. So I went back.
She said, “Oh, you came?” (Driving three hours.)
I said, “I came to study,” I didn’t tell her the story.
My mother said, “No, I know you. There must be something special that made you come back. Tell me what happened.”
I told her, “He fired me! [Laughter.] Grandshaykh told me, ‘If you make your mother happy, you can come back.’”
She said, “Tomorrow if you score high on your test, you will make me happy and I will let you go.”
The next day, I scored 98 in Chemistry! I went back to Grandshaykh; he didn't answer the door this time. I knocked, so he sent Shaykh Abdus Salam, his helper, to open the door and I went directly to Grandshaykh’s room; we used to go all the way to his room directly.
He said, “Now I accept you to visit.”
So this is how awliyaullah ‘inspect’ us. You don’t treat them as children. We have to keep respect and to not to put someone [unqualified]. Shaykh Abdul-Rahman, Mahmud, Reza and I all have long beards, and then comes an inspector with no beard, wearing a suit and tie; is he going to inspect our belief? I don’t want to say more, but the knowledge of someone with a long beard shows how much they stepped on their ego to have that! [Takbeer!]
Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q) said, “Respect the elders because they have more hasanaat than you.”
Oh! SubhaanAllah, now it came to me, what they are checking! I was in a French school where our classes went to 6th Grade [Middle School], before High School, and every day we had to extend our hands and they checked our nails: if our nails were long they hit our hand with a ruler. This was a French secular school. They hit your hands. It might be these ‘inspectors’ want to check our nails, now we understand! Then they inspected our nose and ears to see if they are clean, then they checked for lice and if you had lice they sent you home. Might be they are checking this. So that was with salary. That will be a new Tariqah, “at-Tariqah Aybarkiyya,” (referring to a very disturbing suhbah that Aybark Effendi of Germany, a Turkish ‘representative’ recently gave about how mureeds need to start inspecting shaykhs), like Turkish borek, the meat patty, so Ay-borek, eye-borek, “my eye is borek, looking where is borek!”
MAKING IRRESPONSIBLE CHANGES
Mawlana Shaykh Khaldoun [who is here] spent 25 years with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and mashaaAllah never changed; his love is the same, but I don’t know if the inspector is going there. I respected him (Aybark) in Cyprus; I didn’t know he will check my nails! [I think don’t speak to him.] Better, but he might check the zawiya.
That’s the problem: the one who is calling himself ‘the wazir’ is changing the people Mawlana Shaykh Nazim assigned, and he claimed that we are changing them. Did I change anyone from their position? He told some people who visited him there in a secret tape recording so many things that we cannot repeat, but never mind, we kept quiet and we are quiet, but I told him once, “When the lion roars and comes from his den, be careful.” It’s not easy. May Allah forgive us.
Huwa ‘l-habeeb. So why we have to fight for the chair? We have to encourage people to unite, we have to encourage each other as Mawlana likes, and go to Prophet (s) with him accompanying us, not for him to feel ashamed from Prophet (s) because of what we are doing, but to feel happy that, “These are my mureeds, yaa Rasoolullah! They are clean and I am bringing them to you!”
تعرض علي أعمالكم فان رأيت خيرا حمدت الله تعالى وإن رأيت شرا استغفرت لك
I observe the `amal of my ummah. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see other than that, bad, I ask forgiveness for them. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)
You want Prophet (s) to observe all these conspiracies? What is the benefit? That is the question mark. To rule what? There are shaykhs who have more mureeds than Mawlana by ten times! Aba Annum in Indonesia, one shaykh whom I took Mawlana to visit, was over 100 years of age and had 40 million mureeds, all Nahdatu ‘l-`Ulama, a big organization with most of its scholars for him! If you want to count by number there are too many, so remember--you, Baha`uddin! I am speaking to you personally--remember if you break this Tariqah, it’s going to be on your head on the Day of Judgement. That responsibility is not on us, we are innocent [Mawlana shakes his jubba.] Nice breeze! I am warning you, and if you don’t want to accept it, there are other ways: by du`a Allah will take it from you. We don’t want that, and you don’t want your father to be unhappy!
THERE IS NO ABROGATION OF HEAVENLY ORDERS!
No one can abrogate [the heavenly stations of] Shaykh Hisham or Shaykh Adnan, you have to know that! You are not that one that can do anything, you are only a midget! I didn't really open the full issue yet; if I do, too much will come out. Make sure that you don’t break this Tariqah or it will fall on your head, not on us! I am 70 years of age, it will be on you.
Your brother Shaykh Muhammad is on my head (with all my respect). [Takbeer.] Shaykh Adnan is on my head. I’m on their shoes, one shoe is on the right and one shoe is on the left, no problem, but there are no more shoes for you. You are not responsible! Mawlana did not mention your name in anything and when you say, “My father said this, my father said that,” or, “My father told me,” that is completely wrong and we don’t believe it! You have no spiritual connection with your father!
DON’T BACKBITE!
Also, all representatives are on my head because they are not trying to make problems. You created problems between me and some prince who left dunya, and between me and your father for the Priory; you made problems since your childhood and you still are. It’s enough! Your honor and nobility is from your father. Don’t destroy the name of your father and then people will point at you, keep the reputation of your father high, lift it up! Out of love to you [I am warning], don't backbite us.
O you who believe! If a corrupt person comes to you with something wrong, ascertain the truth unless you harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what you have done.
(Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:6)
The one that comes to you [with gossip], you have to check what he says.
Avoid suspicion as much (as possible) and spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you would abhor it. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:12)
Too much, I’m hearing from different countries and places. What did you say to the Spanish and what problems you made there? What did you say in Holland, Germany, England, in this or that country? Tooboo illa ’Llah, repent! All of us repent, I am saying astaghfirullah, you also should say astaghfirullah. We are family and we care for you. Sayyidina `Umar (r) said, “If you see me doing wrong, try to perfect me, addiboonee, to discipline me.”
Prophet (s) said:
لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا
If Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad were to steal, I would cut off her hand. (Narrated by Jaabir, an-Nasaaee)
You are not better than them. You are from the Ummah, but they are the nobility and even with the nobility of Ahlu ‘l-Bayt, Prophet (s) said that about his daughter! Keep respect!
OUR BAYA` IS WITH MAWLANA SHAYKH NAZIM.
I GAVE BAYA` TO SHAYKH MUHAMMAD
It’s not good adab to go from one mureed to another, saying, “You must take baya`!” What is this? We have baya` with Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) and I am not making baya` to any other: we revoke our baya` to anyone else, I pull it out! But when I put my hand, did you know why I put my hand? To give him [Shaykh Muhammad] baya`, not to take the baya` from him! I gave the baya` to him in spiritual means! [Takbeer] Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad (s).
Mawlana (q) told me, and Allah is my witness, not like others who say, “I have a line to my father and he gives [inspiration to me].” After a while he will say to use the bathroom, I need his permission! Mawlana (q) told me, “Please teach Muhammad as he has no experience. Keep Muhammad (q) under you as he is young, he didn’t see the world,” which is true. So if Allah gave you a tongue to speak, it doesn’t mean you have to criticise and destroy anyone’s reputation. I gave your brother baya`, I didn’t take baya` from him! I gave him my hand, my hand has power in it. [Haqq!] I gave him my hand to give him power, like plugging him [connecting him] by Mawlana’s order, but I didn’t say this except today. There are many issues like that which you don't know.
MAWLANA SHAYKH’S WILL
SUCCESSION IS BY ORDER OF PROPHET (S)
Where is the will? Show us! You hid it. Mawlana said [there is] a will and all awliya follow the Sunnah of Prophet (s), which is to have a will. Millions of mureeds around the world want to know, but they want something written in Mawlana’s hand as that is how the ijaazah comes: the shaykh writes it, signs it, witnesses it with people and gives it [to his successor]. Where is that? Do you think Mawlana doesn’t have a will? Grandshaykh `AbdAllah and Shaykh Sharafuddin ad-Daghestani (q) had wills, all the shuyookh have a will! Shaykh Sharafuddin gave Grandshaykh his will and we have it; we showed it to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q). One week before Grandshaykh passed away, he wrote a will, signed it and witnessed it. He put his thumbprint to identify it on the Day of Judgement that, “Yaa Rabbee, I have identified my will and what is to be done after me.”
He assigned three, if you don’t know I repeat them for you: Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Adnan and Shaykh Hisham. And he said, “If Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is not there, Shaykh Adnan will be there, and if Shaykh Adnan is not there, Shaykh Hisham will be there by order of Prophet (s)!” (Takbeer)
I am saying this because you made lot of confusion so it’s my duty to clear at least a little bit here and there. You and me are brothers, no problem, I am like your father, you are like my son, but the will is from Rasoolullah (s)! Do I have to explain everything in detail, like how the succession comes? If you don't know, your father and Grandshaykh know that I extended my hand in Ghar-i-Thawr, the Cave of Thawr, by order of Prophet (s). I put my hand in the hand of all awliya and all Sahaabah, and then Prophet (s) ordered all Prophets to be ready, and I put my hand with them and Prophet (s) put his hand on it! This was in a vision. I put my hand with Mahdi (a) and he read: Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.…(baya` du`a).
We are not coming from the ghetto, we are with your father, sixty years since I knew him. You forgot when you were a young one sleeping in my house, but never mind.
So the will is by order of Prophet (s) and I didn’t mention how it comes. When a shaykh wants to pass a secret, the mureed and shaykh sit on their knees, which are touching each other, then the mureed holds the hand of the shaykh, then white pigeons come, then a green pigeon comes, circling. Without the approval of Prophet (s), that passing of the secret from one to one cannot be done without these pigeons, who are awliyaAllah (q). They appear in the presence of Prophet (s) according to their levels and they cannot show themselves immediately or the mureed will faint, but it comes slowly, gradually, and then they will be given the secret.
We got our secret directly from Grandshaykh in this way, me and my brother, and no one can abrogate it because it is coming from their line [of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain]. Even Mawlana Shaykh Nazim cannot abrogate what Mawlana Shaykh `AbdAllah has written because it’s an order approved by Prophet (s)! One, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, if he is not there Shaykh Adnan is there; if he is not there, Shaykh Hisham, it is stamped, finished! No one can change it. You cannot change it, you are nothing to change, even your father cannot change that order. He can appoint whom he likes, he can appoint on his place; there are two places there still. If we die, we die; someone else will be appointed.
If we have time to speak about it, I brought with me a manuscript of the many shuyookh of the Naqshbandi Tariqat who had two or three successors at the same time, like the Daghestani shaykhs: Sayyidina Isma`eel an-Naranee, who is Syrian; Sayyidina Isma`eel Muhammad ash-Shirwani from Daghestan had a sirr from Sayyidina Khalid al-Baghdadi; Sayyidina Khas Muhammad Shirwani (q), a wali in Daghestan and in the same time of Isma`eel Shirwani and Muhammad Effendi al-Yaraghi, three of them; and also Sayyidina Jamaluddin Ghumuqi and Abu Ahmad as-Sughuri, two more who met in the last of their times, so five total in the same time [which is not unusual].
Grandshaykh appointed the three and also predicted that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim will not be in the same place where I or Shaykh Adnan will be, that we three will be in different places, which means we have full authority to conduct whatever we want by order of the shuyukh. I am not saying this to be proud, no, I don’t deserve other than to be by the door with the shoes, but the one with the house of glass should not throw stones! If your brother Shaykh Muhammad is speaking, we will say okay if what they are saying is correct, but do you think that this Tariqah is built on a one-minute video clip? How? That video clip was for someone who Mawlana Shaykh Nazim was speaking to directly to tell him, “You are not khalifah. Give Shaykh Muhammad baya`, this is my khalifah.” [that message was] to try to lower the arrogance of that person! Someone is coming to shaykh (q) saying, “Renew my baya`,” is the whole Tariqah built on this one small video clip? It cannot be, [because the protocol is] the shaykh has to explain what he did, who is taking care [after he is gone], and what is going to happen.
Grandshaykh (q) mentioned everything in his will: what his daughter and his wife will take, and he even mentioned what his grandchildren will take! He also mentioned which shuyookh will represent him, how the zawiya has to be run, he mentioned everything in detail, but not money! I am not speaking of inheritance, but everything that relates to Tariqah he mentioned: his wife’s position, what she will do after him, if she would still stay in the house or in the event she wants to go to get married, or if his daughter is going to stay and help in the zawiya. Everything was mentioned.
Where are these details [from your father]? We don’t know anything. I heard there was a will, but we don’t know. In any case, if we know or we don’t know, we do know the will [exclusively and categorically appoints] Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, Shaykh Adnan and Shaykh Hisham! And then when Mawlana chose Shaykh Muhammad as they say, we are okay with it because, alhamdulillah, it is someone that I like and love, so no problem. So that is why I describe it as three rivers: any river you choose is going to take you to the ocean, and the ocean is Shaykh Nazim (q)! If you go on the river of Shaykh Muhammad or Shaykh Adnan, it takes you to the ocean! If you take the third one of the haqeer, idiot, the dumb one, it also takes you to the ocean. But it might be that one of these rivers or all of them are Niagara Falls, strong, or it might be all of them are not like that, but every river will take you to the ocean! However, you cannot teach us what we need to do, you must teach yourself.
WHAT I DISCUSSED WITH SHAYKH MUHAMMAD
I called Shaykh Muhammad two days ago and told him what is going on and said, “If your brother is not going to stop, it’s going to be a disaster. Look on the Internet at how he is assigning new positions to some people and look at what they are saying in their video clips.” May Allah (swt) forgive Shaykh Baha and bring his mind back [Ameen.] I don’t know why he is fighting, turning the whole world [upside down], telling people, “The emperor is Shaykh Muhammad.” In Tariqah I never heard the title “emperor” used, but now we are hearing it! Astaghfirullah, turning the whole world, appointing new people, speaking here and there, what is going on with him? It might be he loves something. May Allah forgive me, forgive him and forgive everyone.
Why this came up? Because we need the shafa`ah of al-Habeeb, of Prophet (s)! Sometime we have a sickness, a pimple filled with pus, and we go to the surgeon to open it and drain that pus. So now we opened it up and that inshaa-Allah we throw that pus away and come back to our minds. May Allah forgive him. I love him, but I don’t know, he knows better. Sorry for bringing that issue, but people are confused and many people are asking what is going on.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
RABITA IS ONLY TO SULTAN AL-AWLIYA MAWLANA SHAYKH NAZIM
Rabita is only for Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, (q), not to anyone else, because no one else can take you anywhere! When Grandshaykh `AbdAllah died, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said, “Rabita is to Grandshaykh,” he didn’t say rabita is to Grandshaykh’s mureed, to him. He said rabita is to whom? To Grandshaykh! Baya` is to whom, he said? To Grandshaykh! Now people are saying rabita and baya` to Shaykh Muhammad. Yahu! You are taking the people in the wrong track! Rabita is only to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim! I know tomorrow they will attack me, but never mind.
HISTORY OF FIGHTING WAHHABIS ON MATTERS OF `AQIDAH
In 1992, Mawlana (q) told me to attack the Wahhabis, and I know what Wahhabis don't like: at-Tawassul wa ’l-Waseela, Intercession of Prophet (s), dhikrullah, Mawlid, this or that. So what we did? We had to reach everyone, so I printed 500,000 pamphlets on these issues, each eight pages long, and I said to all our mureeds, “Divide them between this and that masjid. We covered all masaajid in Canada and America, and distributed 500,000 pamphlets in one hour! Then, Allahu Akbar, the next day attacks on the Internet started. We were the first Muslims on the Internet (to establish websites for Islamic issues and teaching). In 1992, CNN linked with our websites for Islamic issues. The next day, they attacked so viciously and harsh, and they sent a shaykh from Rabitatu ’l-`Alam al-Islami, the Islamic World League, Muhammad Adly from New York, I still remember his name, to debate me. So he posed some questions to me. I was preparing to leave for Malaysia and really had no time, so they said I was running away, that I don’t want to answer because I have nothing.
So I told one of our people, Taher Mateen Siddiqui, “Come Mateen, sit with me. This night I’m not sleeping, I’m going to answer them,” and I answered them on the rules of hadith--what is hadith sahih, what is hadith hasan, what i
