First Jumu`ah of Ramadan
Dastoor, yaa Sayyiddee. (Mawlana Shaykh stands) Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illa-Llah. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahi 'l-hamd! Alfu salaat, alfu salaam `alaa Sayyidi 'l-awwaleen wa ’l-akhireen habeebi Rabbi ‘l-`alameen, Sayyidina Muhammadin wa `ala aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. Shafa`at, yaa Rasoolullah! Yaa `ibaadAllah as-Saaliheen! Yaa awliyaullah! Yaa RijaalAllah! Amidoona bi madadikum bi jaahi Nabiyyik al-kareem bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah. (Mawlana Shaykh sits)
As-salaamu `alaykum our humble attenders. You are humble; you are sitting, listening and hearing, and you like to be obedient servants. However, most people are not humble, they think that they are something and they are nothing! And we are saying, by the name of Allah Almighty, All Merciful, Most Beneficent and Most Munificent. Allahu Akbar al-Akbar!
O People! It is a humble association. It is a very small group here and some of them may look at such foolish machines, listening to the machines and not listening to me. I am more perfect than this but they are listening to such instruments of technology. I am from heavenly people. All of us are coming from Heavens, sent from Heavens and then kicked down. First we were disobedient.
Allah Jala wa `alaa is asking, "O My Servants! Do you accept that I created you and granted you such honor that no one can grant you such honor? I am making you My deputies on Earth." You can’t measure this honor Allah Almighty gave us, but people are leaving it and running after nonsense things in dunya, and He is calling us, "O My Servants! Be obedient servants, not disobedient ones. I don't like disobediency, I like obedient ones."
Look throughout the east and west. Now we are living in the 21st century according to the western calendar, but its beginning is when our grandfather Adam (a) was sent 7000 years ago. If you say this, they say, "How do you know it has been seven thousand years that Man was here?" In nature museums they bring so many bones and write, "This is a giant dinosaur." Who told them they are dinosaurs? They get so angry but their heads are so small! They are not thinking and quickly forget.
Therefore, if anyone writes on those bones, "That is a huge dinosaur," that dinosaur may eat them!
They never know what is written on it but people say it is one million years old! You don't know calculation? Are you saying that bones may be in existence for one million years? They say, "Yes, it is okay, write it. We are fighting everything that belongs to people’s beliefs and do not follow heavenly addressing, and we never pay any attention to heavenly inspirations!"
So many prophets said, "O People! You were created in Paradise as the first man and the first lady." Therefore, first ladies are always angry, saying, "Why are we the ‘first lady’? What are our husbands' positions? They must be second creatures under their first ladies’ command. Change all books and say that the queen of this world and its first lady is okay. It is never written in any book that we are ‘first ladies,’ holy books write that Adam was the first man and deputy, but what about us?" Shaytan is coming to ladies at that point, saying, "All of you are first ladies! Don’t believe that on Earth there is only one; in every country there must be a first lady. No, you must try to make your husbands your servants and oblige them to say, 'O my first lady! I am your servant.'"
My English is like Shakespeare's; you must understand what I am saying! Therefore, the first man was Adam and the first lady was Eve, and they were ordered to be obedient servants. Allah Almighty said, "As long as you are obedient servants, I am dressing you with most honored dressings that I granted only to Mankind, to be My deputies."
That is written in the Old Testament, the New Testament, the Psalms, and in the Holy Qur'an. It is clear, but people do not understand; they are running after shaytanic ideas that can't stand up. Therefore, “downstairs” they are making it a little bit wider so that it can stand. Now Shaytan is bringing such ideas that have no base to sit on and no legs to stand on. Also, philosophers are bringing such astonishing ideas that even they are not believing, and sometimes, particularly at night, they are looking and laughing at their ideas, saying, "Mankind has no mind and therefore we may say anything and they will follow us.”
Therefore, 21st century people are foolish, no-mind ones, never thinking; they are drunk people who lost the honor of being deputies of the Lord of Heavens to Creation. Therefore, every trouble is coming on Mankind for the sake of Shaytan, whose officers declare something in the morning and by the evening the declaration is changed: sometimes the head becomes the feet and sometimes the feet become the head! That is the trouble on Earth now, nothing else. People have forgotten that the Lord Who created all things is only One! He is the Creator, sending us His holy orders and we are disregarding those orders, bringing philosphers' and shaytanic ideas that are never accepted by clever or thinking ones, only drunk ones may accept, so that now all troubles on Earth are the result of shaytanic ideas.
Some of them say, "We must be free everywhere and we are not accepting rulers." Now people are running in the streets, saying, "We don't like that leader." If they ask for another one, (a similar one will come in his place) and then people will say, "This one is no good also, we must look for another one and another one."
They are confused. The reason for troubles on everywhere, not only in countries but also in every home, is because Man is never going to be an obedient one. Wives are disobedient, children are disobedient, there is no discipline in the smallest part of the community, and that is making troubles increase. There is no one commander or ruler of a house; the wife is saying, "No, I am also the ruler," and troubles are coming between men and women. Then children are saying, "We are not listening to you, we must be free to do everything and you must be our servants."
The main point is, people are never happy to have a ruler. They say, "This is the century of freedom and everyone must do as he likes!" With such thinking, how can can there be peace and love between members of a home, society or country, and how can there be respect for each other? If respect is finished there will be no more rest or good understanding, and never-ending discussions and arguments between family members will be frequent. The same bad characteristics run through thousands, ten-thousand, a hundred thousand, millions, even ten-million homes, and people will not accept authority as they are saying, "I am the ruler!"
Allah (swt) (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits) created our Creation with the nafs, ego, which comes against the soul. Souls belong to Heavens and our physical being belongs to Earth. Therefore, between them is never-ending fighting, quarrelling, discussing and arguments, because Allah Almighty created our ego with a personality, and said to it, "Come to Me!" and that ego went back. The Lord of Heavens said, "Go back," and it came forward. Then the Lord of Heavens asked, "Who am I and who are you?" The ego's answer was, "You are You and I am I." That is our egoistic personality! Therefore, the Lord of Heavens sent some people to teach others how they can make their egos under their authority, under their commands; otherwise we are finished!
Now people are under full control of their egos, what their egos ask of them they follow and beyond that, if there is anything heavenly or earthly, they are never accepting. Prophet (s) said:
وإنما لكل امرى ما نوى
wa innamaa li kulli imrin maa nawaa.
The amount of reward is commensurate with the intention. (Bukhari)
Everyone will reach according to what he does: if he is doing goodness, he will reach goodness forever, and if he is running after badness and shaytanic ideas, then he is going to reach that shaytanic power that will take him up like a hurricane and then leave him to fall. Now all people are under that terrible situation. As long as they are not saying, "O our Lord! You are our Lord and we are Your weak servants," there is no hope for people here or Hereafter to reach a happy and sweet life here or an eternal life in Paradise! May Allah forgive us. It is enough.
Fatihah.
They might make me speak up to the end of Ramadan, but I am tired and so is the doctor. Alhamdulillah, he is a first class doctor, the doctor of Her Majesty, the Queen’s family. We are proud that such a person is coming from our country of Cyprus and that Her Majesty, the Queen, and the royal family are not trusting their pulse to anyone except him!
Doctor: It is because of your prayers.
Astaghfirullah. So many of you weren't born when I was with the doctor, even though he is only five years older than me, it doesn’t matter. (Laughter) I am happy he came sunexpectedly. Mashaa-Allah, the doctor is a Cypriot and a very humble one, yes sir.
Doctor: It is because of your teachings.
Astaghfirullah. May Allah give him much more authority, power and also heavenly power in his heart that when he looks, he may distinguish between a clever one like me and a foolish one like that! (Laughter) I am very happy. Allah razi olsun, doctor.
Doctor: You are very lucky to have him as your teacher here. He is the best teacher in the world. He is the best preacher and teacher I ever met. He is not only a hodja, but also a university graduate. I have met many hodjas that are only hodjas, but he is a hodja and is educated as a chemical engineer. You are very lucky to have him.
But I do not know how to drive!
Doctor: The whole world is after him!
