From Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's Personal Notebook
No one can make judgments that can replace Your rulings (qadaa), O Allah! It is enough for everyone to know, maa shaa-Allahu kaana, whatever Allah wills will happen.
Why does Covid still occur after you have been vaccinated? Because you see vaccines as your god. You see vaccines as something that can give life. You make the vaccine al-Muhiyy (The Giver of Life), you make the virus al-Mumeet (The Giver of Death). People say that we make it as asbaab, causes, eh, but who is the Musabbibu 'l-Asbaab, who is the One who created the sabab, cause? Allah (swt)!
وَاِنْ جَاهَدٰكَ عَلٰٓى اَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِيْ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا
Wa in jaahadaaka `alaa an tushrika bee maa laysa laka bihi `ilmun fa laa tuti`humaa
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them … (Surah Luqman, 31:15)
It means, "And if they try to force you to associate with Me, know that there is no partner in Asma Allah (swt), Allah's Divine Names; there is no partner in the Sifaat, the Attributes of Allah (swt) and there is no partner in the Essence of Allah (swt)."
Wa in jaahadaaka `alaa an tushrika bee, if they try to force you to associate Me with something you don't know about, maa laysa laka bihi `ilmun, something you have never heard of before, fa laa tuti`humaa, then don't follow them.
When someone forces you to become idolatrous, don't follow or obey. Say Maa shaa-Allahu kaana, yaa akhee, my brother, my sister, my friend, maa shaa-Allahu kaana, what Allah wills will happen, wa maa lam yashaa lam yakun, and what He does not want will not happen. This is more than enough for us. This is what I have often heard from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), and have made it a principle of my life. You go on with your life, you work with your mind with open doors, situations and events; yes, you work with them, but don't lose focus on this one thing, that this is mashiyatillah, Allah's Will.
O People! What does Allah want for you? Does He want you to be scientists in the lab, does He want you to be doctors, judges, lawyers, a person who likes to eat, people who like to endure hunger, cave people? What does He want for you, O human? What becomes mashiyatillah, Allah's will upon you, O People?
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said from the beginning, humans already had titles. You don't need to look for fake man made titled. Your title is Khalifatu 'l-Haqq, Representative of Allah who can control the universe, the wind, the sun, death, water, anything. You have been given that power!
Sayyidina `Isa (a) can control death, he is allowed to bring back the dead. Sayyidina Sulayman (a) controls the winds that obey his orders, and the jinn and shayateen are subject to him. When you become Khalifatu 'l-Haqq, Representative of Allah, you can control beings, including that tiny virus. You control everything by the permission of Allah (swt). Why? Because you represent Him.
When Allah gives authority to you to bring the dead back to life, or dismember an animal's body and when you call it back they return together as before and come to you (narrated in Holy Qur’an). When Allah (swt) ordered the knife in Prophet Ibraaheem's hand to not cut Prophet Ismaeel's neck and it didn't. Allah (swt) ordered the flood not to drown Noah (a), but others drowned.
As Khalifatu 'l-Haqq, Representative of Allah, you have no fear except for Him! You have no desire, except from Him, to always be in His love and solely for Him! You are Khalifatu 'l-Haqq! O Human, you are not a small person, you are the one who represents the Creator among His Creation, Siffatu 'l-Insaan.
The secret has been given. To have the power of Allah (swt) among His creatures has been given to all Mankind. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said that each of us, the grandchildren of Adam (a), have a treasure from Allah's treasury. From the heavenly knowledge we receive, it is stated al-Mu'min kanzullaah (قلب المؤمن كنز الله), the heart of a Believer, is a treasure chest given by Allah (swt) and its key is in the Hand of Allah (swt). Because human beings are essentially based on their hearts, their meanings, not their forms.
Someone could be homeless, which is increasing. The homeless always stick together, right? I saw a lot of them on the streets in Germany recently, in clusters if maybe twenty people living and eating together, and warmed themselves in front of the fire together. How could there be so many of them together and yet if Covid kills groups of people, why doesn't it happen to them?
What happened to the homeless, why did nothing happen to them? That is a question. They are on the streets, they have poor hygiene. Are they using sanitizers? They seldom clean themselves, because of their poverty and their difficult conditions. Their hygiene is poor, they also do not have access to perform medical tests or medical procedures. Why don't they die in the streets? Why are they increasing in number instead of decreasing? Yes, that is a question.
Homeless people are those whose outward appearance is tragic, because some of them have no clothes, some do not bathe and when you look at them you see them differently, but Grandshaykh said that the value of a human being is not seen by how they look, but in their heart. Why? Because Allah's Eyes are on the human heart.
Allah (swt) said, "The heart of My Believer," and you are the Believers, so don't let that faith leave your heart, whatever Allah wants will happen. No one can do anything. This is your faith.
ما وسعني سمائي ولا أرضي ولكن وسعني قلب عبدي المؤمن
Allah (swt) said, "Heaven and Earth cannot accommodate Me, but the hearts of those who believe can accommodate Me." (Hadith Qudsee)
So you might ask, "Where is Allah?" Allah (swt) told Rasulullah (s) and Rasulullah (s) told Awliyaullah, "Allah is in the heart of a believing servant," which is why we have come to Awliyaullah. Why do we come to our Shuyookh? Do you understand this wisdom now?
Why do we come to Grandshaykh? Why are we going to our shuyookh's gravesites? Why are we looking for a Shaykh? Because we are looking for those with Allah (swt) in their hearts! When you come to Mawlana Shaykh Hisham (q), Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), Mawlana Shaykh `AbdAllah (q), Shuyookh in our lineage, or when you come to another lineage, Sayyidee Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (q), Sayyidina Moinuddin Chishti (q) and others, why did you go there? We are not going there for the Shaykh, he is a door, but not just a door, what is in his heart? Allah (swt) is in the heart of His servant!
Grandshaykh said, "The heart has no limits." The heart of a Shaykh, the heart of a Waliyullah has no limits because Allah (swt) has no limits. We go to meet them because we want to know Allah (swt), and that comes from the secret of the verse:
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
I created jinn and humans to worship Me (alone).
(Surat adh-Dhaariyaat, 51:56)
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said that ya`budoon also has another meaning, as the mufassirs and Awliyaullah say, namely li-ya`rifoon, "to know Me". Why did the Anbiya come? To explain the Creator to His servants. So when we come to Awliyaullah, or we read Mawlana Shaykh Nazim's (q) books, we do it to know about our Lord, our Creator.
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) told you about your Creator, Who has put something in your heart, a treasure chest, and He has the key and to know Allah (swt), you first have to know what is in your heart. That is why Allah (swt) said:
سَنُرِيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِنَا فِى الْاٰفَاقِ وَفِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ حَتّٰى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ اْشنهُ الحسِهِمْ حَتّٰى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ اْشنهُ الحَسِهِمْ حَتّٰي
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. (Surat al-Fussilat, 41:53)
"We will show them the Signs of Our [Power] in all horizons [you are witnessing today] wa fee anfusihim, "and in themselves, hattaa yatabayyana lahum annahu 'l-haqq, until it is clear to them that this is the truth", that what Allah said He sent and it is Haqq!
That is why you are Khalifatu 'l-Haqq: this is accomplished by witnessing the Signs on the horizon, which is the meaning of what is in the treasure chest in your heart. After that, the Door of Ma`rifat will be opened to you in your heart, and that will only happen through mujaahada (witnessing) and riyaadah (worship). It is difficult for us to pray two rak`ats a day, we find it difficult to read al-Qur'aanu 'l-Kareem even one page a day, even though it should be more than that. The key is in the Hands of Allah (swt), and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said to get the key, whoever is sincere in seeking Allah (swt) will find it.
Subhanallah, today I saw the holy verse, "If you want the key to your treasure, it is easy. It is not in your hands, it is in the Hands of Allah (swt)."
وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى الصّٰلِحِيْنَ -
And those who believe and do their good deeds, We will definitely include them in the (class) of pious people. (Surat al-Ankabut, 29:9)
The 'pious people,' saaliheen are namely the Anbiya and Awliya. Awliyaullah have said inna 'Lladheena aamanoo bi mahabbati 'l-haqq, they explain further about faith, that those who love Allah (swt) and they ask Him—like every Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim—they love their Creator and they ask Him. Then what is the next condition? Wa `amiloo 's-saalihaati, and they are doing good. What does that mean? Not only virtue in helping people, no! It is virtue that can bring you closer to Allah (swt). Charity that makes you reach His Divine Presence, and this is the path that the Prophet (s) has shown: that doesn't happen by creating your own path.
We encounter many philosophers, scientists, who teach that, but you cannot create your own path, you have to follow the path of the Anbiya. Then we must follow the path of the Seal of Prophets (s), Rasulullah (s), because he completed the entire religion.
So if you believe in the mahabbah, love of Allah (swt), and you ask Him, and you do the right deeds that can lead you to His Divine Presence, la-nudkhilannahum, Allah swears that He will make you into that class of pious people to enter the maqam of the Awliyaullah and Anbiyaullah. And that is your first step!
Maqaamu 'l-Anbiya wa 'l-Awliya, the stations of Prophets and Saints are not the same as the station of Khaatamu 'n-Nabiyyeen, Seal of the Prophet (s). Maqaam Khaatamu 'n-Nabiyyeen is still far away, but Maqaamaatu 'l-Anbiya wa 'l-Awliya never ends. Anbiyaullah is known (fixed number of 124,000), but Awliyaullah never end (as one passes away and is replaced, to maintain their earthly presence of 124,000). They are countless numbers, so you can keep going up, la-nudkhilannahum fi' s-saaliheen. Allah (swt) will allow you to enter the stations of the Anbiya wa 'l-Awliya.
One might ask, where is it mentioned in the Qur'an?
اِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِيْنًاۙ
Indeed, We have given you a manifest opening. (Surat al-Fath, 48.1)
Whoever expects good from Allah, Allah (swt) will qualify him to enter the door of Inna fatahnaa laka fat-han mubeena, "We have opened for you a great opening." You will enter from that door, because Rasulullah (s) once asked Allah (swt), "Yaa Rabbee, is this station for me or for my Ummah?" Allah (swt) replied, "Whatever I give to you, your Ummah is with you, too." These are the words of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q).
That is why we believe in the love of The Creator, and know we live in His full control. We ask Him to be pleased with us and we ask for His love, and that's why we don't associate partners with Him. We accept the principle, mashaa-Allahu kaana, what Allah wants will happen, wa maa lam yashaa lam yakun, and what He does not want will not happen.
