You Will Invite Everyone in Paradise to a Feast

Shaykh Nour Mohamad Kabbani

15 June 2024 Fenton Zawiya, Michigan USA

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Laa hawla wa laa quwatta illa billahi 'l-`Aliyyu 'l-`Azheem.

Dastoor, yaa Sayyidi, Qutbu ‘l-Mutassarif. Madad, yaa Sultan al-Awliya. Nadarak himatak, yaa Sayyidi ‘l-Kareem. Dastoor, yaa Sayyidi wa Mawlay. Madad, yaa RijaalAllah.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi ta`ala wa barakaatuh.

Our place is not a university. Our place is not a madrasah. We are not meeting in a conference hall or in a college. We are not people in official positions. We don’t claim to be `alim, scholar, muhaddith or mufassir, the one who knows Hadith or tafseer. We are simply people. We call ourselves people who make dhikr. Our master, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), always told us that when we meet, we are meeting as friends. We are meeting as brothers and sisters. There are no teachers and students. That formality belongs somewhere else.

Our majlis is always like that. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) has said if you speak for Allah (swt) and for the love of Rasoolullah (s), it’s acceptable. If you speak for other than that then there is a question mark on that speech. May Allah (swt) make us from the ones who are accepted in the Divine Presence and accepted in Rasoolullah’s (s) presence.

It is a simple association and gathering that we come here once a week, twice a week or once a month as people can come. May Allah (swt) reward them for the time that they have given and the love that they have shown. May Allah (swt) grant you all your wishes. The ones who want a visa, may Allah (swt) give them a visa. Somebody called today and said, “Thank you for the du`a. We got the visa.” Of course, it’s Mawlana’s du`a. We said, “Alhamdulillah.” Others say, “Make du`a for the university.” They call later and say, “Alhamdulillah, we got acceptance in the university.”

May Allah (swt) grant you what you are wishing for by your coming to the door of Awliyaullah. If it’s good for you here and your family Hereafter, may Allah (swt) grant it to you. Whether it’s your children, brothers or sisters, families, friends, community, nations, whatever it is that you wish for of goodness, may Allah (swt) grant that goodness to you.

We read from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s (q) suhbahs. Inshaa-Allah, Allah (swt) will give us the barakah of what they say. Allah (swt) is Al-Mu`tiyy, The Giver. Allah (swt) has 99 Names. You only have one or two. Whatever He gives, Allah (swt)’s Treasure does not decrease by one bit. He gives all of His servants from Azal to Abad. Allah (swt) pours on them from His favors, from His grants, from His love and mercy from Pre-Eternity. He is before every beginning. There is no beginning for Him. From the beginning of creation to the end of creation, if there is an end, and there is no end because Allah (swt)’s name is Al-Khaliq, The Creator. That Name does not become obsolete. It does not expire after a while. He is continuously creating. So until the end and He is after every end, He is continuously creating and He is continuously giving, so ask Allah (swt).

The servant says, “Yaa Rabbee! Hal min mazeed? Is there more that I can take? Is there more that I can get from You?” Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur’an, wa la dayna mazeed. “We have more.”

لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ

There will be for them therein all that they wish, and more besides in Our Presence. (Surah Qaf 50:35)

No matter how big your imagination is and you can ask anything you want, Allah (swt) will say, “I have more.” So, ask Him. In one of the chapters of Qu’ran al-Kareem, Surah al-Isra, Allah (swt) says, asta`eedhu billah:

كُلًّا نُّمِدُّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مِنْ عَطَآءِ رَبِّكَ وَمَا كَانَ عَطَآءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُورًا

To each [category] We extend - to these and to those - from the gift of your Lord. And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted. (Surat al-Isra, 17:20)

Numidu, continuous flow. “We flow, we give unto them and unto them.” Two groups are given from the grants of their Lord. The people who want dunya, Allah (swt) gives it to them. The people who want Akhirah, Allah (swt) gives it to them. Either you are from the people who are immersed in the pleasures of this life and they are not looking for anything else, and there are so many of them, or you are from the people who are wanting Akhirah, the other life. There are also many of that kind.

Allah (swt) says, “We grant each one of them.” Numid, “We give madad to them. The grants of your Lord are never ending.” Allah (swt) gives. Allah (swt) gives the people of dunya and the people of Akhirah. Today there is a big event in our city. Big fireworks. People are coming from everywhere to participate in that event. Allah (swt) is giving to everybody. He is giving this group of people what they want and He is giving that group of people what they want. Allah (swt) is watching what they do. May Allah (swt) forgive us.

I was thinking of that even today. We have to read one juz of Qu’ran everyday. Don’t forget. When you read the Qur’an everyday, it will tell you what you need to do for that day. I was thinking about that group of people who are celebrating tonight and said, “SubhaanAllah. What is the hikmah? What do we do? What do you do?” I came across Surah al-Mu’minoon. Towards the end there are a few verses. Asta`eedhubillah.

رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

"Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" (Surah al-Mu’minoon, 23:94)

Qul rabb ma turiyani ma yu’adoon. Rabbi fala taja’alni fil qawmizhalimeen. Allah (swt) said, I have marked rocks with names and it is not far away from the zhalim, the oppressor, the unjust one, the disobedient one, from the one that butts heads with his Creator. Allah (swt) can send His punishment anytime He wants. The Creator can do whatever He pleases any time He wants.

Rasoolullah (s) was told to say, “Say: ‘O my Lord! If you are going to show me what you promised them, don’t make me among the zhalims.” If you see them everywhere, say, “Yaa Rabbee! You are capable of sending onto them whatever You want but at that time, don’t make me with them.” They are in our city. Our city is two blocks, so we will go with them. O mu’min, you cannot prevent anything. Allah (swt) continues in these four verses:

وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَـٰدِرُونَ

And We are certainly able to show you [O MMuhammad] (in fulfillment) that against which they are warned. (Surah al-Mu’minoon, 23:95)

We are able to show you what We can do to them. Idfa billatihiya ahsanu sayyiya. Repel what is bad with goodness.

ٱدْفَعْ بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ ٱلسَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ

Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say. (Surah al-Mu’minoon, 23:96)

O mu’min, when you see that badness coming from people, you have to repel it with hasanah, good. Don’t repel badness with badness. It will just increase the badness of the other side. If you confront somebody and that somebody confronts you back, what happens? It escalates. What do you do? The Creator teaches in His last book, Al-Qur’an al-Kareem, de-escalate. Give goodness to the one who shows badness. What bigger good manners is there than that? You are coming out with ethics and morals and mashaa-Allah, you have universities talking about ethics and morals. In our religion, the Creator is telling the believers, “If you see badness coming against you, if you are confronted with badness in front of you or behind you, show goodness.” Why? Because, nahnu aalamu bima yasifoon. “We are certainly more aware than you, more knowledgeable than you with what they are saying and describing and doing.”

That means Allah (swt) is able to take them if He wants to. He is able to keep them if He wants to. He is able to change their hearts if He wants to. He is able to make them mu’mins if He wants to. He is able to change them from unbelief to belief. Rasoolullah (s) said, the heart of the believer is between the Fingers of Ar-Rahman. He can change the heart any way He wants.

Don’t stress too much, O mu’min, O Muslim. These are the teachings of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q). I heard that poem from him 30 years ago. Maybe you have heard it. Maybe you heard it from my father.

La tuqfirli hamik.

Don't be too concerned.

Maa quddir yakoon.

Whatever is destined will happen.

Don’t be worried too much with what’s happening around the world, in our nation, in our city or on our block.

Huwaa’l-muqaddir wal-`alam shu`oon.

He has written the destiny and people are just players.

In theater they give you a role. They say, “You are the creepy one today.” But tomorrow you might be the hero. If Allah (swt) changes the heart of the villain today to become a saint tomorrow, who can prevent God from doing that? Is He able to do that or not? He is able to do that. He is able to change the heart of a villain from being the worst of the worst to the best of the best, a saint. He is able.

Grandshaykh (q) and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) and Mawlana Shaykh Hisham and all of the Shuyookh teaches us not to worry too much about that and about other things in your personal life, your work, your dhikr, your rizq or your home. Don’t worry too much about marriage, divorce and all of that. He has decreed everything. He has written your destiny. You are only a player. Ask Him to let you play a good role. Yaa Rabbee! Make me do good amal. Don’t make from the people who are zhalim as He told Rasoolullah (s) to say:

رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Rabbee falaa taj`alnee fi ’l-qawmi ’zh-zhalimeen.

My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people." (Surat al-Mu'minun, 23:94)

O my Lord! Don’t make me among the people who are cruel, unjust and disobedient.

So do whatever you want to do. It’s your life. That’s what they say. “It’s my life.” Do whatever you want to do but you have to know that one day you will stop doing whatever you want to do. Death will come and take you. Nobody lasted forever. There will come a time when you will be taken out of this life and submitted into another life. That is what’s important. If that life is good, you have won eternity. If that life is bad for you, you have lost eternity. You have lost forever. If you win in the other life and enter Jannah and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) is saying, razaqana ’Llahu wa’iyakum dukhool al-jannah. May Allah (swt) make us and you enter Jannah. May Allah (swt) make us enter the house of honor.

In Jannah there will be feasts. Every person in Jannah will host all the people of paradises. Every person that is Jannah will have a turn to host all the people in the eight paradises. The one who has the lowest level in Jannah will have a turn. He will invite and host all of the people of Jannah in his place.

When we invite people, we think about how many people will come. Can you do it over there? Allah (swt) will help you do it. Nowadays they have party planners. You say, “I don’t know what to do,” and a party planner comes and tells you, “Be at ease. I will take care of it.” Alhamdulillah, we have one mureed who does that all the time. If we have a wedding or dinner or festival, she comes and her husband supports her spiritually, and she does everything. Alhamdulillah.

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) is saying a person will invite all the people of Paradise, Allah (swt) will say, “I will take care of your invitation.” Why? So the host will be happy and the invitees will also be happy. They will be given things that they have never seen in their levels of Paradise. The minimum level, the one with the lowest level in Paradise will be able to give the ones with the highest levels of Paradise things that they did not find in their paradises. Look at Allah (swt)’s honor to make the person who is inviting everybody happy. They will not say, “What is this, one olive, two spoons of honey, a little bit of white cheese?” No, they will get things that they don’t see in their paradises.

They will be dressed with things that they have never seen before. They will be given crowns. Also in that invitation they will be given what no eye has seen, ear has not heard and a human heart did not think of. All of them will be given. They will feast on things they have never seen in their own paradises. Before they leave, everybody will be given gifts according to their levels in Jannah.

When you go to a birthday party, what do they give you at the end? A sucker. A balloon. A small ball. They give you a gift. These people that came to the invitation will also be given gifts from the host when they leave, and he is in the lowest level of Jannah. After everybody goes back to their paradises, they will find whatever they liked at their invitation in their paradise too. It will not be deficient from the host’s paradise. Whatever was in the host’s paradise will stay with him. These are people who have won the Love of and Mercy Allah (swt). They will find in their paradises what they have never imagined.

What do you imagine to find in this world? It is limited. How many numbers do you need in your account? How many dishes can you eat in one meal? How many homes can you stay in at the same time? How many cars can you drive at the same time? How many clothes and shoes can you put on at the same time? One time Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said once, tell these rich people to get a Bentley and a Mercedes and cut them in half. Join the Bentley with the Mercedes and drive it, so you can drive two cars at the same time. People will say you are a very smart one.

How much of this dunya can you take? How much of it can you get? How much of it can you enjoy? It’s up to a certain limit. You are more befitting for what is on the other side, O insaan, the one who is after the lower pleasures. “Dunya” means “low.” They are after the lower pleasures, not after the higher pleasures, the spiritual pleasures, no. They are after their physical desires. How much of that can you take?

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said, if somebody comes to you with a jar of honey and gives you one spoon, what do you say? “Mmm, very nice.” If he says, “I will give you a second spoon.” He gives you a second spoon and again you say, “Mmm, very nice.” He gives you a third spoon and you say, “Nice.” He says, “I have more,” and gives you a fourth spoon, fifth spoon, sixth spoon. What happens at the end? “Blah.” There is a limit to your taste in this dunya. You might taste one thing and find it very delicious but the more you do it, the more taste it loses.

In Jannah when you drink something, you get the pleasure of it and when you drink something again, you get two pleasures. These two pleasures don’t disappear like in this dunya. They continue. You will have the first pleasure, the second pleasure continuously and you will have a third one and a fourth one and all of them are continuing. They never go away. They never change from sweetness to disgust. You won’t say, “I’m tired of this honey.”

Be careful, O human being. The more you are in the filth of this world, the first, second, third taste will be good. But the more pleasures you go into, you start to realize that this is not what you want. On the other side Allah (swt) has prepared much more than you can get in this world. Don’t lose time. Don’t lose months and years pursuing trivial things. Pursue what’s important. What’s important is your happiness and pleasures for eternity. If you are happy with what you get here in this life, in the other life there are multiples of that. That is our belief.

That is why we don’t care too much about what they do or don’t do. We don’t get involved with what they shout or what they don't shout. We leave them to their Creator. He knows better. Nahnu `alaamu bimaa yasifoon. “We know more about what they are doing, what they are describing, what they are acting.” Wa qul rabbi a’oudhu bika min hamazaati ’sh-shayaateen. You need to say, “Yaa Rabbee, I seek shelter in You from the whispering of shaytans.” Why? Because Shaytan tells you, “Get back at them. Say something to them. Harm them. Curse them.” Look at what a kind teacher Allah (swt) is. He says, “I know I have bad servants but it’s not up to you.” You need to say, “Yaa Rabbee! Protect me from the whispers of Shaytan so I don’t harm Your servants.”

Why don’t you follow these teachings, O Insaan, O human being, whatever you are? Why don’t you find these kind instructions to humanity? Why do you reject heavenly messages? Why don’t you use your mind. The Creator is telling us, “Push away the badness with goodness. Don’t push badness with badness. We know what they’re doing. You have to say, ‘Yaa Rabbee! Protect me from the devil and his whispering. Protect me from being among them or them being around me.’” Look at the teachings. If you follow the teachings of the heavenly messages, there will be no conflicts on this earth.

If they’re doing something bad, the next day they might do something good. Who knows? Leave them. May Allah (swt) forgive us. We are interested in what He has to offer on the other side. As Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said, “Yaa Rabbee! Give us that immense grant that we enter the House of Generosity and Honor.” Inshaa-Allah, we are striving for that.

Don’t worry about what happens today, what happens in the month of June or July. Leave that to the Creator. What you need to do is obey Allah (swt) and ask that Allah (swt) protect you from being among them if punishment comes on them and ask Allah (swt) to protect you from the whispers of Shaytan so no harm can reach them from you. Be a peaceful one, O insaan, O human being.

May Allah (swt) make us from them. Ameen, yaa Rabbee. Make us enter Your paradises, yaa Rabbee, and give us and our families the best here and the best Hereafter.

Bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, wa bi burmati ‘l-Fatihah.

Adam, don’t go down. That’s why you’re here. That event stops at 8:30. You’re here until 9, so that’s good. We’ll keep you here. Afterall, we are all human beings. We all have desires. If you open the door with one look (...) Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said that is the arrow of Shaytan striking your heart. It is poisonous. If you look at them with one look, that poison will enter your heart. Don’t be among them. Leave them and be here in Dhikrullah, especially that guy. You Americans like this stuff.

May Allah (swt) forgive us.
