[Du`a.] Taqabbal-Allah. Inshaa-Allah the rewards of what we have read just now go to Prophet (s), all Prophets, to 124,000 Awliya and all Tariqahs, and inshaa-Allah khaasa, especially to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, and to Sayyidi `AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q), may Allah bless their souls. And for all of us, may that du`a precede us, we hope to find it waiting when we go to the grave. Awliyaullah say that you will find all the du`as you make in dunya in your grave, in Akhirah. So, akthiru min al’du`a, make plenty of du`a, Allah likes that, Allah loves people who make du`a. We have to make du`a as often as possible as Allah (swt) said, “Make du`a to Me and I will respond to you.”
Call on Me, I will answer you. (Surah Ghafir, 40:60)
We are in the month Shahr an-Nabi (s). No one can interfere, no one can say, “This one (is going) to Paradise, this one is going to punishment,” except Prophet (s). In Shahru Rajab, Allah (swt):
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ
There, whoever did an atom’s weight of good will see it and whoever did an atom's weight of evil will see it. (Surat az-Zalzalah, 99:7,8)
It is said Rajab is the month of Allah (swt); however, Allah doesn’t need a month, but it is the month of those du`as and Allah Himself looks at His `abd and sends him either to Paradise or punishment. But in Rajab:
My Mercy embraces all things. (Surat al-A`raaf, 7:156)
“My Mercy encompasses everything (I will give it to anyone who asks for it).” So make sure to make du`a in Rajab. Allah gave Sha`baan to Prophet (s), who said:
رجب شهر الله، وشعبان شهري، ورمضان شهر أمتي
Rajab is Allah's month, Sha`baan is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah.
(Abul-Fath ibn Abi Fawaris in his `Amalee from al-Hasan)
So what does that mean? He will take it. Today there is a new fashion among old and young people: to carry a backpack. Allah said in the Holy Qur’an not to be like that, don’t carry the load of sins you committed, but rather quickly make istighfaar to remove them because that load is very heavy. Allah (swt) said:
The similitude of those who were charged with the (obligations of the) Mosaic Law, but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is that of a donkey which carries huge tomes (but understands them not). The similitude of people who falsify the Signs of Allah is evil, and Allah guides not people who do wrong. (Surat Al-Jumu'ah, 62:5)
Allah says whoever carries the loads of sins on their shoulders are like a donkey carrying a load of all kinds of good and bad things on his shoulders, so don’t be like that! To get rid of the load when you do something wrong, immediately say “astaghfirullah.” Allah likes His servant to repent immediately and He will reward him, take his sayyi’aat (sins) away and give him hasanaat. Allah doesn’t need rewards, He gives it, and hasanaat is waiting for everyone.
Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q), a very famous Ahlu ’s-Sunnah wa ’l-Jama`ah `Alim and Wali, to show how important he was in his lifetime, even Ibn Taymiyyah, who you know always ignored Awliya, said he accepts Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q) as a Wali and `alim, and that acknowledgement is very famous.
Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q), carried the very heavy load of Ummat an-Nabi (s) on his shoulders in order to save the Ummah, and he said, “Yaa Rabbee, forgive them! Give my hasanaat to them.” He was `aalimun fi' zh-zaahiru wa `aalimun fi' l-baatin, knowledgeable in both spiritual, hidden, matters and in Shari`ah matters, from both sides he was janahayn, two wings he carried on his shoulders to fly like an airplane. Whenever Sha`baan came, he always locked himself indoors, respecting Prophet (s), and his awraad was salawaat on Prophet. Now we are in the month of Prophet (s), akthiroo minna salaat alaa ‘n-Nabi (s), make salawaat on Prophet as much as you can, because Allah orders angels:
إنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. (Surat al-'Ahzaab, 33:56)
It is very important as Allah loves it! He loves his Prophet and wants to raise him up to show everyone that he (s) is the first and last in everything; he holds the two sides.
And We raised up your remembrance. (Surat al-Sharh, 94:2)
May Allah (swt) forgive us. Everyone is struggling in their lives. There is no one who is 100% happy; some might be 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 percent happy but people don’t feel happiness and have no relaxation because there is too much zhulma around us. That evil comes on us with so much negative energy, taking away positive energy, especially on those who go to malls: they carry all the negative energy of people there. They think,”We will entertain ourselves,” but will they let Shaytan entertain them? Very well. Be careful!
Grandshaykh (q), may Allah bless his soul, and Ahlu ’s-Sunnah wa ’l-Jama`ah shuyookh said when you walk, look where you put your feet, not left and right. No, look down! Don’t let your eyes go everywhere, protect them because on the Day of Judgement you will be exposed to where your eyes looked. May Allah forgive us, because all of us look right and left, correct? But Allah said, idoo`nee astajib lakum, “Call on Me, I will answer you.” Yaa Rabbee, we need maghfirah!
If they had only, when they were unjust (oppressor) to themselves, come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:64)
This is what we need, yaa Rabbee, yaa Allah, to come to Your Prophet and make istighfaar in his presence! Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen! Adrikna bi shafa`atika yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Habeebullah!
No one can touch shahr Sha`baan; even angels are not allowed to write sins if Prophet (s) doesn’t give them permission. Allah raised him (s) to Qaaba Qasayni aw Adnaa, which means he met with all the angels. Angels don’t die; jinn and humans die, but angels don’t, they are always living. Sayyidina Jibreel (a) was not able to continue moving forward to the Divine Presence and said, “Yaa Rasoolullah, I cannot continue. You go by yourself.”
What did Grandshaykh (q) and our shuyookh say the Prophet (s) did there, in that maqaam, that Holy Presence, which cannot be described? When Prophet (s) was in Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, he said, “Yaa Rabbee, forgive my Ummah!” He didn’t leave without takeed, confirmation, that his Ummah is forgiven for all kinds of sins. Allah has given us, Ummat an-Nabi, a prophet with such a high level that no one can reach! Prophet (s) then ‘moved in’ and no one knows what ‘in’ means; to describe it is kufr as al-Imaanu bi ‘l-Ghayb is indescribable. Our minds are earthly, how can we describe something not from Earth? To explain it in earthly terms is impossible, you need heavenly power to describe anything heavenly!
Allah granted His Prophet that and after He gave him that divine power, He said, “Yaa Muhammad! Sifnee, describe Me,” as Prophet (s) reached that divine place. (It is not a ‘place’, but we say it like that in order to understand.) Allah dressed Prophet with heavenly power in order for him to be able carry when He said, “Sifnee!” Heavenly power can describe heavenly power, but earthly power cannot. Sometimes your description is false and sometimes it is correct. Awliyaullah try their best to describe heavenly things literally, with normal language that we comprehend; like Allah mentions many literal words in the Holy Qur’an, such as yadullah, “Allah has hands,” but the meaning is “Allah has power,” Qudratullah.
So He said, “Sifnee, yaa Muhammad (s), describe Me!” Look how much Allah (swt) loves His Prophet! What will Prophet (s) say? He is on that level Jibreel (a) was not able to reach; it means everything beyond that level is in the hands of Prophet (s), because Jibreel (a) is `abd, is it not? Malakun min al-malaa’ika `abd. Sayyidina Mikaeel, Sayyidina Israfeel, Sayyidina Israel (alayhimu ‘s-salaam) are heavenly angels, but Jibreel (a) as one of the highest angels was not able to proceed, and he said to Prophet (s), “You proceed, yaa Rasoolullah. I cannot go (further), it is impossible, this is my limit,” and Prophet (s) went by himself.
What did Allah give him as he was going there, does anyone know? Allah said, wa rafa`ana laka dhikrak, “And We raised up your remembrance.” Where to, on this Earth? If you look from the Moon or the Sun you cannot see Earth, it disappears, it is smaller than the tip of a needle, so small you can not see it from above. That’s what we have to describe in our life in dunya, which in Allah's view doesn’t weigh the wing of a mosquito.
If the value of this dunya weighed the wing of a mosquito, Allah would never give a cup of water for the unbelievers to drink.
Allah created dunya and didn’t look at it. So He said, “Sifnee, yaa Muhammad, with the heavenly power I gave you when You came to My Presence.” Can anyone describe that, does anyone know? Whatever Allah (swt) gave to Prophet, he (s) gave to Awliyaullah and his Sahaabah, (but only) some of it; the rest no one can carry. That is why Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (r) said:
حفظت من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وعاءين فأما أحدهما فبثثته وأما الآخر فلو بثثته قطع هذا البلعوم
I memorized two knowledges from the Messenger of Allah: one of them I shared with everyone and the other I was not able to share as they would have cut my neck. (Bukhari)
“I memorized from Prophet (s) two kinds of knowledge: one I spread (Hadith al-Shari`ah) and the second I hid, because if I told them about it they would cut my neck, they cannot carry it.” To whom was he speaking? Abu Hurayrah (r) was a Sahaabi and he spoke to As-haab an-Nabi (r) during or after the time of Prophet about what he learned, something hidden that he hasn’t exposed until today. Some scholars say it is about miracles of things you can see around us, but no, that’s dunya! What Prophet (s) gave to Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (r) he saw as so huge he couldn’t express it and people couldn’t understand it, so he kept it to himself as he knew they would cut his neck.
But in reality, he didn’t know if you are in an ocean, from the beach side you can only see the horizon, but when you reach the horizon, what is there? What did Prophet (s) get from the Heavenly Horizon? Who can describe it? No one! Allah gave to Prophet (s) and Prophet gave what he likes to his Sahaabah, his Ummah and all imams until today.
So Allah said, “Describe me! Say something.”
He (s) said, “Yaa Rabbee! Anta ‘l-Qahhaar!”
Awliyaullah say to be careful when you recite Asmaa’ullah al-Husnaa and come to (the Names and Attributes) al-Qahhaar and al-Jabbaar because these are qahr, overpowering; when you mention the Names they open up for you. When you say “al-Qahhaar” for sure there is an opening in the heart that can receive the power of that Name, but you cannot carry it physically so they keep it for your Akhirah.
Allah said, “Sifnee!” and Prophet said, “Yaa Rabbee! Anta ‘l-Qahhar! You are The Subduer!” He crushes everything into powder, like the mountain where Sayyidina Musa (a) requested:
فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ موسَى صَعِقًا فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
And as soon as his Sustainer revealed His glory to the mountain, He caused it to crumble to dust and Moses fell down in a swoon. And when he regained consciousness, he said: "In Your glory You are limitless! To You I turn in repentance and in You I will be the first to believe!" (Surat al-`Araf, 7:143)
What happened to the mountain when Allah opened His Beautiful Names and Attributes over it? It was completely crushed into powder, nothing was left of the mountain! Awliyaullah disappear in Allah’s Divine Presence. When Sayyidina Musa (a) reached that level, he was able to understand he had unnecessarily asked, Rabbee arinee anzhur ilayk! “O Allah, let me see You!” He said it out of love, like many Awliya. We call them `ashaq, al-`ashiqoon, the Lovers, who say through their hearts, “Let us see You.” If you want to really see Him, Allah cannot be seen but He can be known through the heart. When anyone says “Allah” you understand.
Allah said, “Describe Me,” and Prophet (s) said, Yaa Rabbee! Laa yasifuk al-waasifoon, “O Allah! The describers cannot describe You, there is no way. How can they describe You when they haven’t seen You? To see you they must be in Heaven,” because you cannot see Heaven with earthly eyes, you also need spiritual eyes. Prophet (s) said, “There is no way the describer can describe You and nobody can perceive You.” There Prophet (s) melted, annihilated in that Presence; at that moment he was able to describe, because he meant what he said and was dressed, as there was no partner.
Allah knows what He gave His Prophet to appear with. What was Prophet (s) wearing, do you know? No one knows. You cannot say that, but we are saying this to show our ajis, our inability to understand, describe and compare.
Allah said, Qaala, sifnee yaa Muhammad! “Describe Me!”
Prophet (s) said, Laa yasifuk al-waasifoon wa laa yudrikuka al-mudrikoon. Qaala, antal Qahhar, yaa Rabbee. “Yaa Rabbee! You are The Subduer: You crush everything like You crushed the mountain for Sayyidina Musa (a). You melted me, I annihilated in Your Love and Presence.”
Allah said to Prophet (s), “Why did you say al-Qahhar, The Subduer, about Me?”
He (s) said, “Yaa Rabbee! I said that because You will destroy all `amal of Iblees with which he put Your servants in his troubles and traps, with no order. You will be able to subdue all sins of human beings as soon as that appears in the Divine Presence! The Subduer is forgiving, qahhaar adh-dhunoob wa qahhar adh-dhunoob, He annihilated sins and is The Annihilator of sins. You are that, yaa Rabbee! You didn’t leave any sin on any of Your servants.”
That is what Allah wants to hear from His Beloved One and why He gave him rahmah:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
(O Muhammad!) We have sent you not except as a Mercy for all the Worlds. (Surat al-Anbiyaa, 21:107)
Allah said, li 'l-`alameen, "all the worlds," not specifically this or that group. Now every group on Earth says, “We will go to Paradise and the rest will go to Hellfire.” How do you know? If Allah sends everyone to Paradise you must be happy, at least you also passed. Can you guarantee your safety (from punishment)? No! So why don’t want Allah to forgive everyone and you be among them, then you will be safe. No, they don’t think! If Allah forgives, He will not take from someone and give to you, He will give them and you. and what He gives you they won’t know and what He gives them you won’t know. That’s why there is no hasad, jealousy, there as if nothing has been given, everyone keeps it to himself. That jealousy will disappear and if jealousy disappears from your heart in dunya you are a Wali.
The way fire consumes wood, it doesn’t leave anything, so try to get rid of your hasad towards other people. If Allah wants to give you He will, if He doesn’t want to give you He won’t, no matter what you do! People say, “We have tried this and that, there is no opening. Please make du`a, make du`a.” Okay, idoo`nee astajib lakum, we make du`a. Allah knows best why He is not giving, but He will not deprive you, He will give it to you in the grave. Whatever you do here in dunya you will find it in the grave, where He will give you good things before you enter, and you grave will become Rawdatan min Riyaadh al-Jannah!
May Allah (swt) forgive and bless us, and may Allah give the highest and the highest and the most high level of Paradise to Awliyaullah, especially to our shaykhs who guided us all these years, since I was twelve years of age, that is sixty years now, Sayyidi Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (q) and Sayyidi Shaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q), and many other Awliyaullah we saw in my father's house as it was open for all the `ulama of Lebanon and Syria. May Allah (swt) forgive us, forgive them and forgive you, and keep us with Prophet (s), and may He grant us that wherever we move our heads, right or left, we remember to say salawaat on Prophet (s)!
Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin qad daaqat heelatee. Adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah!
O Allah! Raise our Master Muhammad. I can't find my way out of this most terrible situation, get me out! Reach me, O Rasoolullah!
Qad daaqat heelatee, “Whenever I tried my best to reach you yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah, or have an opening in my life either physical or spiritual, there is no way except through you!”
When you lose hope from everyone, go to Prophet (s) and say, “Adriknee, reach me, yaa Rasoolullah!” and he will reach you.
May Allah always be happy with us, and we are happy to say, “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah `alayha nahya, wa `alayha namoot, wa `alayha nalq ’Llah. Aamantu billahi wa malaa’ikatihi wa kutubihi wa rusulihi wa bi ’l-yawmi ’l-akhirati wa bi ’l-qadari khayrihi wa sharrihi, wa’l-ba`thu ba`da ’l-mawtu haqq, yaa Allah!”
Rabbana taqabbal minna bi hurmati 'l man anzalta `alayhi bi sirri Suratu ‘l-Fatihah.
