A short suhbat. Because some people wants to go. He wants go since one and a half hour. So as we said before, we need a guide. We need a doctor to examine us. And he might give you very sour medicine in order to take away the poisons that are in your system.
You also need a guide, that Allah swt gave him heavenly treatment for the soul in order to take the poisons of the soul. Or what is the benefit if we sit in a guidance of someone or a lecture of someone and that someone cannot even treat himself.
Like today, psychiatrists, I saw many of them in the presence of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim or the presence of Grandshaykh or they come and I see them private. Most of them I see them in the presence of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah give him long life, or in the past in the presence of Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul. They come and say, "O my shaykh I have problem” what kind of problem. Our life not going well, we cannot focus, we have difficulties. And he looks at them and says, ho ware you solving the problems of people.
They give patients al kinds o f poison they have and they try to treat them when they ar sick already, when these psych are poisoned already. That is why it is important to have guide with heavenly treatment and heavenly treatment. Will not be give to him until he has purified himself completely. He has to achieve tazkiyyat an-nafs. It is not that it cannot happen. The Prophet (s) said, “man `arafa nafsahu `arafa rabbah - who knows himself knows his Lord. Allah gave a way to know yourself, but we are not doing it, we are not trying. It is a very difficult journey. That is why very few people achieved knowing the self.
I was this morning upstairs and I saw someone his finger is bleeding. He cut his finger and he is seeing blood coming out and they were putting wrap, medication and wrap. Because it is a big wound. And he was shouting from pain. Whenever they press on the blood to stop and I was hearing that and everyone there was hearing that.
Immediately Mawlana came and said, "Look that is one finger and that person is shouting from pain. That is small cut.” Not small, but it might need 3 stitches and they didn’t put anything. He said, "Our soul has hundreds of thousands of wounds that our soul is bleeding and we are not trying to fix it. The pain is there but the body is not feeling it because the body is imprisoning the soul. The soul is in the prison of the body. The soul is screaming and crying and asking relief. It is full of wounds from every part. It has to be cleaned. Its wounds have to be cleaned and to get some antibiotics. But these are heavenly antibiotics and heavenly treatment. You need a very trained and experienced wali in order that he will put you on the right track to know yourself. That is why the Prophet (s) said “who knows himself knows his lord.”
When you fix these wounds and you have destroyed your self, that is what these wounds are. What are the wounds of the soul? They are the 800 forbiddens. Every forbidden you do every day is like a sword or knife that you hit your soul with depends on what part the soul it comes.
Whey that person got ht on that particular finger. Why not another finger, the shahada finger or the thumb? But it hit a particular finger. When it is hit with something the body, it is a cleansing process for the soul. That is reflection from the wound of the soul to the wound of the body. That is why maqam al-fana, the state of real annihilation that when you are in love with someone you annihilated yourself in himself and you don’t see anymore yourself, you see that person this is maqam al-fana. You can have maqam al-fana fee ash-shaykh. You have can fana in people also. To love them in Allah’s’ love. And even this been mentioned in ibn Taymiyya where he mentioned in his Encyclopedia al-Majm`a Fatawa al-Kubra which is 36 volumes.. One of these volumes is speaking about maqam al-fana.
And he said, "there were 2 persons by the river making wudu and one fell down and he doesn’t know how to swim and when the first one fell down, the 2nd one fell in after him throwing himself in. And both don’t know how to swim.”
That is maqam al-fana in each other. Grandshaykh said, "There are higher levels of fana in one person to the other. If someone will have a wound in his hand, the other will have the wound in his hand and I saw that and observed that one time.
It was in 1973 in rajab, where Grandshaykh was going, came to Beirut and stayed in our house and especially in my room and he was been going to surgery for hernia. So he finished the surgery and he moved to the house and at that time we sent message to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim to Cyprus and he came. So he came and he visited Grandshaykh to the hospital before coming to the house and to my room and there he was passing him a secret and that is in the book Naqshbandi Sufi way, I won’t tell it now, but you can go back and read it. And he ordered everyone to go out of the room. So at that moment when they opened the room, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said, "O I have a pain.” It was in the same place that Grandshaykh had the pain. That is fana fee ash-shaykh annihilation in the shaykh. It immediately reflected itself. And he went for the same operation, surgery.
So when they bought them both back to the house, Grandshaykh was on this side and Mawlana Shaykh was on this side, facing each other. So I saw that and experienced that how immediately it reflected itself.
Sometimes the soul reflects the wound in the body when it has reached the maximum limit of pain, so it bursts through the body in any way it can so it has room to tanafas, to breathe out. Like you have something like a balloon, it cannot take more air, then it has to burst from one side. It has to have an opening. Like a pimple, it grows and grows and you you have to put a cut in it to let the pus come out.
So when the soul has been wounded too much by all these cuts, then it has to come out. When you treat your wounds you know your Lord .when you treat your wounds you are …. The wali has to be purified in order to treat you. If he is sick what you want him to treat you?
Like you go to doctor and he says you have cholesterol and he says, “eat fish, and don’t eat red meat.” But he has cholesterol and he is eating meat. Or a doctor who is diabetic and he is eating starch. This will also affect as it will reflect his sickness on your sickness. He adds on your problem even more.
So the shaykh must be clean himself through his shaykh then he can sit and try to fix the others.
If you sit and try to fix the others and you are sick, you will reflect all your negative energy on them. Especially for spiritual wounds.
It will be affected more when you go to a sick one and you think he is a shaykh or representative of the shaykh. All his negative energy will be reflected on you. That Is why you see someone got to someone and he is flipped. Because that one who is claiming is already crazy. He doesn’t focus well and he wants to fix you. He has to fix himself first. There are many like that. We are all like that.
So you have to keep as much as you can, taking the medication that he give sot you which is going to be very very untasty. Tasteful? Not-tasty and it is sour. Because this is how they treat. They have to give you poison against poison. They don’t give you candies against poison. They have to give you higher dose of poison. Like we mentioned in treating cancer they have to treat with chemo which is higher does than the cancer. But after they treat he will be ok.
When you have been treated then you realize you have to close the doors and windows that open to the people and your door or window must only open to the Divine Presence and the Prophet’s (s) presence it means you will no longer be interested in dunya after they give you so much dose of treatment. So like patients of cancer they reach level four they realize that their life is over so then they begin to focus on religion more and dunya drops from their eyes.. They realize they are finished.
So awliyaullah put you in a feeling that your soul is already dead and they put you in severe treatment that you close all the door to the dunya and open the doors to the Divine Presence.
So how to reach the doors of the Divine Presence. You begin to count all the sins and you have to acknowledge all the sins and say ya Rabbee forgive them. His door is open. He didn’t close the door, we closed the door. He is ready to forgive any time.
Say to them “O my servants, don’t lose hope of Allah’s forgiveness. Whom has oppressed himself of too many sins, ask forgiveness and when you ask and ackn0weldge your sins and ask forgiveness.”
Then Allah will take the blindness from your heart and bring you in the Divine Presence. It is not the matter of what you dress but it is the matter of how you are able to dress.
You can have many dresses in your closet, the very best ones, but how to dress. I have a nice dress but I don’t know how to dress them. I am looking at them there but I don’t know how to dress them. How to get them and wear them.
How are you going to dress these beautiful manifestation that Allah sending to his Prophet (s) and thru his Prophet (s) to the masters, the Grandshaykhs to Sayyidina Shaykh Nazim to Sayyidina al–Mahdi. How you can get these dresses, it is not in just how to explain about them but in how to use them. There are ways and methods of how to use them but then it is very heavy.
I didn’t see Grandshaykh ever ordered people to do this or do that. He leaves them on their easy way. And Mawlana Shaykh Nazim the same. But I am seeing some people today, they claim they are reps but they are very tough on those coming to them. That is why after a while they leave them.
May Allah forgives us and give us these dresses that are ready, especially in this month of Ramadan 1429 in order that we be forgiven and it will be the signal and the sign of forgiveness. May Allah bring us in his Divine Presence and in the presence of the Prophet (s) and in the presence of our shuyukh, wa min Allah at-tawfeeq, bi hurmatil Fatiha.
It is very difficult. You need to have strong devotion. You have to have powerful belief in order to move thru this journey. But Allah swt is merciful. Allah he knows that if you decide to go thru that journey but you cannot because it is difficult but you are patient because you are there, Allah will take you from where you are to the shore of safety.
Grandshaykh used to call it the reeh as-siba, that Allah takes you thru His inayah, as they know you cannot cross the whole ocean to reach the other side. You are on the beach trying to put your feet in the water. You are patient in trying to do it and you keep doing it, you don’t say I cannot do it. Allah will send his divine protection and his inayah and take you to the other side. This is what he calls inayatullah or reeh as-siba it will reach you. We are asking Allah swt to send his inayah on us that we will be able to reach the shore of safety. Else what we can do? Wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi-hurmatil-Fatiha.
