Jumu`ah Khutbah

(Khutbah begins @ 42:30)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. (Du`a.)

O Mu’mins and Muslims! We are together here on this important day. It is the month of Rabi` al-Awwal, “The Spring of Islam”, “The Spring of the Universe”, “The Month of Muhammad (s)”, Sayyid ar-Rasool, whom Allah (swt) created from His Light. Qabaddtu qabdatan bi-yameenihi fa qultu lahaa koonee Muhammada, “I took a Handful of My Light and said, ‘Be Muhammad!’” That became Sayyidina Muhammad (s), huwa Noor! Yahdillaahi bi noorihi mayyashaa, by Sayyidina Muhammad (s), he is the guide from Noor and will guide anyone whom Allah likes. And alhamdulillah, that Noor is when there is darkness you need light; without light you cannot see. When this universe was in darkness the Light of Muhammad (s) came and made everything shining! He is the one that Allah created first as it is mentioned in the hadith in the Musannaf of Abdul Razzaq that Muhammad (s):

رواه عبد الرزاق بسنده عن جابر بن عبد الله بلفظ قال قلت: يا رسول الله، بأبي أنت وأمي، أخبرني عن أول شيء خلقه الله قبل الأشياء. قال: يا جابر، إن الله تعالى خلق قبل الأشياء نور نبيك من نوره،...

Jaabir (r) asked, “Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Prophet of Allah! What is the first thing that Allah (swt) created?” the Prophet (s) said, “The first thing that Allah (swt) created is the Light of your Prophet from His Light, O Jaabir.” (Musannaf `Abdu ’r-Razzaq)

What Allah has created first is the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). And listen carefully! Despite what others say, we are not bothering with them, we are not listening to them, may Allah guide them. And you know who are these people and we do not need to mention them always, because when you mention them you make your tongue dirty. Leave them alone. We keep our tongue sweet with sweetness. The sweetness of this universe is Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! We keep our tongue with mentioning Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and our tongue becomes sweet! If we are are going to make our tongue dirty, then they know how to make it dirty for us so don’t listen to them, don’t follow them.

When Allah (swt) wanted this universe to appear He put the Light of Muhammad (s) in Bahr al-Qudrah, the Ocean of Power, as it is mentioned in many ahadith. And in that ocean, that Light was turning and as it was turning appearances were coming into existence. In that ocean he (s) is the mirror that through him everything reflects! Muhammad (s) is the mirror and these appearances are being seen through the mirror of Muhammadun Rasoolullah (s)! Fa yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! Fa yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! Fa yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ‘l-`Aalameen! Allah (swt) qaala fi haqqiq, Allah said, “In you is a Light.”

وإعلموا أن فيكم رسول الله

W`alamoo anna feekum rasoolullaah.

And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)

The beginning of the ayah, wa`lamoo anna feekum Rasoolullah, Arabs understand what is the meaning of “feekum,” but I am telling them from here it is wrong where they translated into English “among you” or “between you.” Allah said, ‘feekum,’ He didn’t say, ‘baynakum’ nor ‘`alaykum.’ He (swt) said, ‘feekum Rasoolullah, in you!’ Allah didn’t say, ‘among you’ or ‘between you.’ Prophet (s) is in you, more than ‘among you’ and more than ‘between you,’ he is in you, and ‘in you’ means his Light in every mu’min and mu’minah, in every Muslim and Muslimah, that they love more than they love anyone else! Prophet’s Light will appear in their hearts and they become like a spotlight, shining.

Yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ‘l-`Alameen, we call you from here! You are the one who is hearing and seeing. You are the one whom:

حياتي خير لكم تحدثون ويحدث لكم ، فإذا أنا مت كانت وفاتي خيرا لكم ، تعرض علي أعمالكم فان رأيت خيرا حمدت الله تعالى وإن رأيت شرا استغفرت لكم

I observe the `amal of my ummah. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see other than that, bad, I ask forgiveness for them. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)

You are the one who observes our `amal and if you see good, hamadt 'allah, and if you see bad you make istigfaar. Look how the Prophet’s power is great! All of you here, most of you have emails, and when you send an email it reaches millions of people at the same time. What do you think about a computer that is made by human beings and what do you think about someone that Allah (swt) made him the messenger of this ummah, that he can see you at any moment, all of you at the same time, and everyone’s name he knows! Everyone of us, he knows them and he hears them as Allah gave him that power. If they do good, he says hamadt 'allah, “I praise Allah,” and if he sees wrong he says, “I make astagfirullah.” It means he (s) is looking at everyone in the same time and nothing overlaps on the other one! He can see everyone by name. I can know only two names here or might be only your name; that’s it, the rest I don’t know. We are like that, but Prophet (s) not only knows his ummah, the Muslims, but the whole universe is his ummah! He knows everyone, because angels are making salawaat on him so he already knows them, Sayyidina Muhammad `alayhi afdalu ‘s-salaat wa ‘s-salaam.

I will not be long and I will conclude with that. Let all of us renew our baya` with Sayyidina Muhammad al-Baqi Billah (q) and with all the silsila of the Naqshbandiyya Order until today, from whatever branch it is. All of us are Naqshbandi here. Raise your hand and we will renew our baya`.

Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah, ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah, ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Inn’alladhīnā yuba`ūnaka innamā yuba`ūn-Allāh, yadullāhi fawqa aydīhim, faman nakatha fa-innamā yankuthu `alā nafsih wa man awfā bimā `ahad `alayhullaha fa-sayu’tīhi ajran `adhīma. Radīnā billāhi rabban, wa bi ‘l-islāmi dīnan, wa bi Sayyidinā wa Nabīyyinā Muhammadun sall-Allāhu `alayhi wa sallam Rasūlan wa Nabīyyan wa bil-Qurāni kitāban w’Allāhu `ala mā naqūlu wakīl, w’alhamdulillāhi rabbi ‘l-`alamīn; wa qabilnā bi Sayyidinā ash-Shaykh Muhammad Nāzim al-Haqqānī qudwatan lanā ila-mahabat in-Nabī Allāhu ta`ala `alayhi wa sallam wa ila t`alīminā tariq il-islam wa tariqat Nabīyyinā Sayyidinā Muhammad salla-Allāhu `alayhi wa sallam wa tariqat ash-shari`ah wa sunnatu ‘n-nabawiyyat ‘ish-sharīfa w’Allāhu `ala mā naqūlu wakīl.
