Dhuhr Suhbah (Translated from Arabic)
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! Laa ilaaha illa-Llah! Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahi ‘l-hamd! Allahuma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alaa Sayyid al-Awwaleen wal-`Akhireen habeebaka habeebak, ij`alnaa tahta liwaa’ihi yaa rabb al-`alameen. thumma ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaam, `ala saa’iri ’l-anbiyaa wa ’l-mursaleen wa khudamaai shara`aihim, wa `ala ’l-a’immatul aimmatuna wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaam `ala ’l-anbiyaullah jalla wa `alaa.
Madad yaa RijaalAllah! Dastoor yaa Sultan al-Awliya. Madad, madad, madad. Madad, madad yaa RijaalAllah. Allah Allah, Allah Allah, yaa Mawlaa.
We want to awaken the servants of the Lord from Malakoot, the Heavenly Realm. The kind of awakening that belongs to this world has no value, as to be truly awakened must come from Heavens! It is impossible for a man who has no connection from Heavens to be awakened; therefore, he must turn to the prophets who have news from Heavens. Prophets received news from Heavens, not from people on Earth who don’t know anything as they are blind! A blind person does not even know where to put his feet; he might put his feet on Earth or in a valley, which he might fall inside and die.
The sons of Adam (a) need someone who can see and hear based on heavenly information. We say now, “A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajim. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. O our Lord! Help us! O our Prophet (s), we need your intercession!”
Our tariqah is based on suhbah. We are not claiming we know something, but when an order comes from the Heavenly Kingdom it is authentic, verified by Allah (swt). Whoever doesn't receive heavenly information doesn't know the difference between correct action and mistakes. A man who listens to heavenly instruction can differentiate between what is correct action and what is dangerous! That is not something easy.
We are living in the Last Days, no doubt. What we are seeing are Signs of the Last Days, where al-Haqq (swt) said: (Mawlana Shaykh Nazim stands)
فَقَدْ جَاءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا
Faqad jaa ashraatuhaa.
But some of its Signs (of the Last Hour) have already come. (Muhammad, 47:18)
(Mawlana Shaykh Nazim sits.) O Shaykh of al-Azhar, did you not read the Noble Quran? O those claiming to have knowledge of Shari`ah, did you not come across the holy verse, laqad ja`aat ashraatuha? Between us and the revelation of that verse are 1500 years. Where are you? Say! Do you suppose those Signs have not yet appeared? That would be denial of divine heavenly revelation. “Laqad ja`aat” is an affirmation that without any doubt that certainly some of its Signs have already appeared. From the Era of our Prophet (s) up to now, those signs have already come. Say, O those who are claiming to be ‘ulama, what are the Signs of the Last Hour? Are these troubles we are seeing today from the Signs of the Last Hour or not? Why aren’t you saying? If you don't know, then fas'al bihi khabeera, “Ask the one who is expert.” (25:59) That verse indicates that in every affair there is an expert. The Signs have appeared; ask the one who is acquainted and expert in the Signs of the Hour. That is important.
Why did Allah (swt) remind us in the Noble Qur’an, “Verily, its Signs have appeared.” Allah (swt) is the Speaker, but this word is concealed and a person cannot understand it by himself. If human beings don’t know, who should they ask? Allah gave the answer: ask the expert! So if you don't know the Signs of the Last Days, then it is obligatory to ask the expert on this subject.
Why doesn't Shaykh Al-Azhar ask the expert for the events that are happening this world? We are not asking for gurr gurr gurr gurr, the sounds of their stomachs; we don't want that! We don’t take this into consideration. Do they have al-khabar al-yaqeen, the absolute certain news? Who has certain knowledge? Why did the Prophet (s) say, "juhayna min al-khabar al-yaqeen.” He clarified and explained about The One Who said, “Ask the expert.”
Who is that juhayna? Are you juhayna, O Shaykh Al-Azhar? Who is that juhayna who has the certain knowledge? Who is that one whom the ummah of the Beloved (s) should be searching for at all times? Prophet (s) does not speak from his ego; he is speaking with inspiration, "ma`a yantiqu `ani-l-hawwa." Then there must be someone among the ummah who has the characteristics of juhayna, who has the certain knowledge, al-khabar al-yaqeen.
O you who claim to be scholars! Why don’t you seek out juhayna? Do you think that such knowledge concerning the End Times is only about the destruction of Madinatu ‘l-Munawwara, as mentioned in the hadith? No! From beginning up to end, juhayna is present. Why don't you ask about juhayna, who will give you knowledge of the Last Days? Fas’al bihi khabeera. Who is this expert? Prophet (s) said juhayna has the Certain Knowledge.
Ask, O Shaykh al-Azhar! In Arabic, the meaning of “azhar” (appearance) is the highest expression of an adjective. That means there exists the highest school, something that cannot be compared with any other school.
O scholars of Azhar and the President of Scholars! Say, who is juhayna then? Have you asked and searched for juhayna, to know who he is, where he is, and to be certain of his news, the Certain News? Is this the news informed to us from the Prophet (s) through heavenly inspiration, that the wild beasts will enter Madinatu ‘l-Munawwara? What benefit does that bring, from all the true knowledge he has? And if we learn about such news, should we go to Madinah and fight the beasts? Laa hawla wa laa quwaata! Laa hawla wa laa quwaata!
(The Prophet said)
آخر من يدخل الجنة رجل من جهينة يقال له : جهينة , فيسأله أهل الجنة : هل بقي أحد يعذب. فيقول : لا , فيقولون : عند جهينة الخبر اليقين
A man from Juhayna, who is also called Juhayna, will be the last man to enter Paradise. The People of Paradise will say, “He has the true news for sure,” so ask him, “Is anyone left in Hellfire?” He will say, “No, no one is left.” (Narrated by al-Khatib.)
Who is that juhayna? We are asking His Honor, President of the University of Azhar. It was an institute and now it became a university, although there was no university in era of the Prophet (s). Why did Prophet (s) make mention about juhayna? This is a very important! Allah (swt) said, "Its Signs have already appeared." (47:18) Allah speaks the truth!
People might ask, “What are those Signs?” They ask again and again, and the answer is in Holy Qur'an: “Ask the expert.” (25:59) If we ask an expert, is there no indication of who will give us the answer for this question? Yes, there is! The one who can give you an answer on what you are asking is with juhayna al-khabariyya. Is he living or is he hiding? If he was hidden, then Prophet (s) would have never said that the knowledge is with juhayna.
In every time there is a juhayna, so if you want to know, you must ask and look for him so he may give you the Certain News. You do not have the Certain News, O scholars of Azhar! Who is juhayna in every period? There must be one. If you would like to know, then ask about him: where does he live, from whom did he learn, what did the Prophet (s) say about him?
Those words are for all times, to the whole nation. There are in every time, wild beasts that are entering the Ummah. Ask about juhayna: who is he in reality?
O Shaykh al-Azhar! Why aren’t you asking for the meaning of that hadith? If you are not claiming to be juhayna then where is he? That is the address of the Prophet (s) to the entire ummah! Why don't they clarify and explain to us who is the juhayna of this time, as Prophet (s) said:
الحلال بين والحرام بين
al-halaalu 'l-bayyinu wa 'l-haraamu bayyin.
Halaal is clear and haraam is clear.
So for everything there is a way to clarify. A surah of the Holy Qur’an is named, “Surah al-Bayyina, The Clarification.” It is an ocean, which means that if you do not know something, enter that ocean and you will find everything, as it is the Surah of Explanation. Allah said, “Verily guidance stands clear from error.” Allahu Akbar! Why was this surah named, “The Clarification.” Say, O President of the University of Azhar and Shaykh al-Islam! Who is that one who has such a bayyina, clarity, that you may learn from it?
O Shaykh al-Azhar! Why do you gather together the lowest level of people, who don't understand anything and don’t learn from heavenly affairs? Why do you consult them? A consultant must be trustworthy. Which of those whom you have gathered is trustworthy? Shaykh al-Azhar takes from each group one representative. What do such people have with them? Nothing. You are collecting people who have no information and no grasp, and consulting them.
O Shaykh al-Azhar! Ask juhayna, as the Knowledge of Certainty is with him. Ask, “Where is he?” in order to bring you Certainty of Knowledge. He will not come to you and say, “I am juhayna,” no.
O Shaykh al-Azhar! I hear that you are reciting the Holy Qur’an. Have you read the story of Sayyidina Musa (a) with Sayyidina Khidr? How do you see it? Did Sayyidina Khidr come to Sayyidina Musa (a) and say, "I am Khidr,” or did Sayyidina Musa tire himself until he reached him? Don’t sit in your chair and wait for juhayna as you will never be granted that way! No, you must learn. Don’t say, “I am Shaykh al-Azhar; I know everything.” If it was true then the Prophet of the Last Days would not have said, “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.” Ask to have knowledge.
O Shayhk al-Azhar! Are you a scholar or a student seeking knowledge? Pride has taken over the scholars of this world. There are `ulama with knowledge of the Next Life, and there are evil `ulama of knowledge of dunya, who wake-up ignorant and go to sleep ignorant. Allahu Akbar! I heard the president of the scholars of Azhar has gathered people from every group, those who have no mind, to consult them. Consultants must be experts in their field.
Allah (swt) ordered the Beloved Prophet (s), wa shaawirhum fil amr, “Consult with them in their affairs.” Prophet (s) did not go to the evil people to consult, he obeyed the order, fas'al bihi khabeera, “Ask the one who is expert.” (25:59) Before you gather people from every group and consult them, they must be experts. You brought people who are not experts, so why gather and consult them? (You are responsible as) you know, al-halaalu 'l-bayyinu wa 'l-haraamu bayyin. Let them say what is halaal and what is haraam!
Allah will ask you, “Why did you bring such people, O Shaykh of Al-Azhar?” Ask who is the consultant and then the ummah can consult him; otherwise, you will fall further into disasters. (...) Qul hattaa burhanakum, bring your proof! Bring me your evidence, or did you speak without authority? You are ordered to ask forgiveness of your Lord. Allah said, hattaa burhanakum, show us your level; our level is clear! To bring men from every party and consult with them, that indicates your level and station!
The perfection of a man is based on the level of his words. How can you gather one person from each group, where each one doesn't accept the other, and they are not holding fast to the Shari`ah of Allah? In that case, they will only take from their egos! Say, “Astaghfirullah!”
We seek forgiveness and repent! Arrange our affairs and organize our lives to follow the strong Shari`ah. We are not able to do anything other than the strong Shari`ah and we never accept anything that differs from the strong Shari`ah! The whole world needs to hold fast to Allah's Shari`ah and we don’t want anything except Shari`ah. We don’t want the views of various people. Those who leave the path of truth and follow every shaytan here and there... Astaghfirullah al-`Adheem lanaa wa lakum...
Fatihah.
Shukran lillah!
(Mawlana Shaykh prays two raka`ats.)
