Zhuhr Suhbah
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.
Salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, yaa `ibaadullah itaqoollaha feemaa amar wa antahoo `amma nahaa `anhu wa zajjar w`alamoo anna ayyaaman qaleelatan qaadimah `alayna wa `ala ‘l-muslimeen, insha’Allah narju’Llah an takoona khayran lana.
We hope the days that are coming are better than those that passed, but we don't expect that. We hope there will be an opening for the world to be in peace. But Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur'an:
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
The Hour (of Judgement) approached and the moon split. (Surat al-Qamar, 54:1)
When the Prophet (s) caused the moon to split, which was a miracle, Allah said, “The Hour has approached,” and people might say those Ahadith are weak, but they are not; they are in Bukhari and Muslim and are Sahih, especially the famous Hadith of Sayyidina `Umar in Bukhari and Muslim where Jibreel (a) came to the Prophet (s) and asked him in front of the Sahaabah, “What is Islam?” and the Prophet (s) gave him the Five Pillars of Islam, the basis and foundation of Islam, and then he asked him about Iman, and the Prophet (s) gave him the Six Pillars of Imaan, the basis of `Aqeedah and Tawheed, and belief in the Unseen, and then he asked him about Ihsaan, perfection, the best manners and behaviors.
لحديث الثاني عن عمر رضي الله عنه أيضا ، قال : بينما نحن جلوس عـند رسـول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ذات يوم اذ طلع علينا رجل شديد بياض الثياب ، شديد سواد الشعر لا يرى عليه أثـر السفر ولا يعـرفه منا احـد. حتى جـلـس إلى النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم فـأسند ركبـتيه إلى ركبتـيه ووضع كفيه على فخذيه، وقـال: " يا محمد أخبرني عن الإسلام ".
فقـال رسـول الله صـلى الله عـليه وسـلـم :(الإسـلام أن تـشـهـد أن لا إلـه إلا الله وأن محـمـد رسـول الله وتـقـيـم الصلاة وتـؤتي الـزكاة وتـصوم رمضان وتـحـج البيت إن اسـتـطـعت اليه سبيلا).
قال : صدقت.
فعجبنا له ، يسأله ويصدقه ؟ قال : فأخبرني عن الإيمان .
قال : أن تؤمن بالله وملائكته وكتبه ورسله واليوم الاخر وتؤمن بالقدر خيره وشره .
قال : صدقت .
قال : فأخبرني عن الإحسان .
قال : ان تعبد الله كأنك تراه ، فإن لم تكن تراه فإنه يراك .
قال : فأخبرني عن الساعة .
قال : "ما المسؤول عنها بأعلم من السائل "
قال : فأخبرني عن أماراتها .
قال : " أن تلد الأم ربتها ، وان ترى الحفاة العراة العالة رعاء الشاء يتطاولون في البنيان"
ثم انطلق ، فلبثت مليا ،ثم قال :" يا عمر أتدري من السائل ؟"
قلت : "الله ورسوله أعلم ".
قال : فإنه جبريل ، اتاكم يعلمكم دينكم "رواه مسلم [ رقم : 8 ]
Umar ibn Al-Khattab (r) reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one day when a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not recognize him. He sat down in front of the Prophet (s) and rested his knees by his knees and placed his hands on his thighs. The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet said, “Islam is to witness that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give the alms, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform pilgrimage to the House if he is capable of travel.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised that he asked him and then said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about Faith.” The Prophet (s) said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in providence both its good and its bad.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully. So tell me about Excellence.” The Prophet (s) said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for you do not see Him but He certainly sees you.” The man said, “Tell me about the Final Hour.” The Prophet (s) said, “The one being asked does not know more than who is asking.” The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet (s) said, “The servant girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see barefoot, naked, and destitute shepherds compete in constructing tall buildings.” Then the man left and I remained. The Prophet (s) said to me, “O `Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet (s) said, “Verily, he was Jibreel who came to teach you your religion.” (Hadith 2/Forty Hadith by Imam Nawawi. Sahih Muslim)
When you complete the Five Pillars you gain blessings from Allah (swt) and will be enlightened in dunya and Akhirah when you perform them you must correct your `Aqeedah and know what you are praying for, your ego or someone else? Yes, we are praying to Allah (swt), and that’s why we have to correct our `Aqeedah and understand it fully. Imaan is to believe in the Unseen, and Allah knows the Ghayb, Hidden, and Laa ya`alam al-ghayb illa-Llah, no one knows the Unseen except Allah. Allah (swt) knows the Unseen (al-Ghayb) as He created the Unseen and gave to the Prophet (s) whatever He wants him to know, but there still remains Unseen that only Allah knows, no one can reach His Knowledge. Allah is The Creator and knowledge and everything else is created. We have to correct our `Aqeeda by saying, “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasoolullah.” Then he said, “After you complete your Five Pillars and `Aqeeda, you have to perfect your behavior,” as the Prophet (s) said:
انما بعثت لاتمم مكارم الاخلاق
I have been sent to perfect the best of conduct (your behavior and character). (Bazzaar)
To perfect is a difficult struggle. You can pray and say the Shahadah and have bad character, and you can pay Zakaat and have bad character, and you can fast and have bad character, and you can make Hajj and have bad characters. So we have to struggle against these bad characters in order to improve that level, Maqaam al-Ihsaan, in ourselves. People, including me and you, are wild. Islam came to tame us, not to be wild. The Prophet (s) mentioned that we must perfect our character by following his teachings (sunnah), the Message of Islam, but what we are seeing today are massacres everywhere.
Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur'an:
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَاوَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَايَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَى لَهَا
When the Earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion and the Earth throws up her burdens (from within) and Man cries (distressed), "What is the matter with her?" On that Day will she declare her tidings, for your Lord will have given her Revelation. (Surat az-Zalzalah, 99:1-4)
When the Earth will make the Great Shake. Today we are in that Sign of the Last Days, that the Earth is shaking hard in many places and we human beings are saying, “Maa lahaa, what happened?” We slept on something, awoke to something completely new and then again slept on something else. Out of the blue things are going so fast.
The Prophet (s) mentioned it 1400 years ago in the Hadith when Jibreel (a) asked the Prophet (s) about Maqaam al-Islam, al-Iman and Ihsan, which we have discussed, and then he asked the Prophet (s) about Judgment Day. The Prophet (s) replied, “I am not the one who knows more than the questioner.” And he said, “Allah gave me its signs,” and he mentioned the Signs of the Last Days (see long Hadith, page 2). No one can say this Hadith is weak, it is in Bukhari and Muslim and many other sihah, as well as the Hadith of Prophet (s), “You will see the naked, barefooted Bedouins competing in building high rises. ”
وأن ترى الحفاة العراة العالة رعاء الشاء يتطاولون في البنيان
You will see the barefoot, naked, destitute Bedouin shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings. (Bukhari)
Everyone now is seeing these high rises physically and spiritually, but 100 years ago everyone was wondering about the meaning of that Hadith! So everything in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith is perfected and adjusted to inform us of what is happening, and this was a big zalzalah that happened yesterday, it’s not something easy, and this big movement that happened in the Middle East and specifically in Turkey was going to be a big massacre and bloodshed that would have taken everyone away except for inaayatullah, Allah’s Care was over Turkey. There are days coming ahead that will be harder and harder, and our duty is to be nicer and nicer, to be alert and always to be checking your prayers and fasting and Zakaat and belief, to be sure you are in a safe place.
The Prophet (s) said:
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا مُؤْمِنًا وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا ، وَيُمْسِي مُؤْمِنًا وَيُصْبِحُ كَافِرًا ، الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ ، وَالْمَاشِي فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ السَّاعِي ، فَكَسِّرُوا قِسِيَّكُمْ وَقَطِّعُوا أَوْتَارَكُمْ وَاضْرِبُوا سُيُوفَكُمْ بِالْحِجَارَةِ ، فَإِنْ دُخِلَ يَعْنِي عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَكُنْ كَخَيْرِ ابْنَيْ آدَمَ " .
Before the Hour comes, there will be a tribulation like patches of dark night. A man will arise a Believer and go to sleep an unbeliever, or will go to sleep a Believer and wake up an unbeliever. The one who sits at that time will be better than one who stands and the one standing will be better than the one walking and the one walking will be better than one running. Break your bows, cut their strings and strike your swords against stones. If someone comes to kill any of you, then be like the better of the two sons of Adam. (Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash`aree, Abu Dawud, ibn Majah)
ABOUT THE COUP ATTEMPT IN TURKEY
That is a dark night that happened in Turkey last night; we don’t say who is right or wrong, but in a moment it was going to become a big war and inaayatullah, Allah's Care, put it down. Awliyaullah worked hard, making du`a to prevent that bloodshed, and they prevented it by Allah's permission. It was going to be big drama, but that was prevented. So we must be careful from today forward as this is a sign of a big earthquake, not a physical earthquake that demolishes buildings, but it would have ended up like that. So it was a sign that what Allah (swt) said in Holy Quran and what Prophet (s) said in Hadith is going to happen, so we have to be very careful and stop backbiting and harming each other, and stop doing anything wrong because if it gets out of hand no one can stop it as then it will be in Allah's Hands. Allah has revenge and He can punish everyone and He can take revenge from everyone if we are not following His Shari`ah!
That is why the Prophet (s) said, “There will be nothing left from Islam but it's name,” because in the name of Islam everyone is doing something that contradicts the other one.
يوشك أن يأتي على الناس زمان لا يبقى من الإسلام إلا اسمه ولا يبقى من القرآن إلا رسمه ، مساجدهم عامرة وهي خراب من الهدى ، علماؤهم شر من تحت أديم السماء ، من عندهم تخرج الفتنة ، وفيهم تعود
There will come a time upon a people when nothing remains from Islam except its name, nothing from the Qur’an except the form of its letters, mosques will be built but are empty of guidance, their scholars will be the worst people beneath the sky, and chaos will emerge from them and return to them. (Bayhaqi)
Now everyone describes Islam according to what they understand and the only result is falling into confusion. So the Prophet (s) said we are only taking from the physical Islam, taking nothing but letters and words, we are not understanding the meanings. So it is like artwork, written "Islam" in different ways, but the context is no longer there and no one is following Islam any more, everyone is following themselves, everyone is fighting for their ego and more power, wanting the chair, everyone is glued on the chair (seat of authority).
When Sayyidina `Umar (r) was appointed the Khalifah, he cried because he did not want it, and his wife said, “Yaa Ameer al-Mu’mineen, why are you crying when after the Shooraa, Council of Muslims, you were appointed the leader of the Muslims?” He said, “Now I am responsible for the homeless, the sick, the poor, the hungry, and I will be asked by Allah (swt) on the Day of Judgement what I have done, more responsibility so I have to cry. I am worried.”
Today, they do the opposite, everyone is fighting for the chair. Give up the chair. You are not going to live too long; your life is not longer than one moment from the womb of your mother to a maximum of 100 years, which to Allah is not more than a moment: your life is a moment! If from every moment you don’t make Allah happy with you, you will meet problems in the grave. We ask Allah (swt) to save us from the punishment of the grave and from the punishment of pulling the soul out fiercely. For the Believer it is described as coming out like the hair from ghee, but if not, it is like being skewered (pierced) from every side of the body, you feel that pain. If people were to hear that they would all faint completely!
These days are coming, everyone knows what they are doing that is why it is necessary to make istighfaar, for us not be aggressive, to not put people down or make them feel bad. So you have to be ashamed of yourself in front of Allah (swt) and His Prophet (s) that you are not only looking at Islam only as a design or artwork, that there will be nothing left of Islam but its name, and our actions are confusions, and nothing is left of the Holy Qur'an but its artwork, or that we are only astonished and stunned when we see its calligraphy. That’s what we are doing today, this is nothing to learn from Quran except calligraphy. They have big calligraphers and around the world people making calligraphy of Holy Qur’an in Chinese letters, in Bengali letters, in Sri Lankan letters, in English, French, German they are drawing verses of the Holy Qur'an. That’s all they know about it, not more than that.
We are here today to say that one of the big dark nights that occurred in the Middle East was last night, if Allah had not stopped it, it would have accelerated until there was big bloodshed, and that is one of the big signs that will happen:
عن أبي هريرة:أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: لا تقوم الساعة حتى تقتتل فئتان عظيمتان، يكون بينهما مقتلة عظيمة، دعوتهما واحدة.
Abu Hurayrah (r) related that the Prophet (s) said, “The Hour will not appear until there will be two enormous groups fighting each other in a colossal battle (and) their issue is one.” (Bukhari)
That is in Sahih Bukhari, so will they say it is a weak Hadith? May Allah (swt) save us all human beings from the bloodshed that is coming. There are many Ahadith on Signs of the Last Days that are soon to happen and Awliyaullah and many `ulama have explained them, which you can find in Sahih Bukhari and other collections. There is a lot of evidence of the Signs of the Days in current events. May Allah bless us and keep us on Siraat al-Mustaqeem and not to be on any side, we have no sides, we have to be on the Side of Perfection and to be on Siraat al-Mustaqeem, and not to interfere, as the Prophet (s) said in the long Hadith we quoted, “The one who sits at that time will be better than one who stands and the one standing will be better than the one walking and the one walking will be better than one running.” The one standing is better than the one walking in these days of massive earthquakes. May Allah keep us away from falling down and forgive us and forgive the two parts of Ummat an-Nabi (s): Ummat ad-Da`wa and Ummat al-Ijaaba, those who accepted the Message and tawheed, Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasoolullah; and Ummat ad-Da`wah, those who did not accept shahaadah, but who inshaa-Allah will accept if before they die.
اللهم اني قد بلغت فاشهد. اللهم اني قد بلغت فاشهد. اللهم اني قد بلغت فاشهد.
O Allah, truly I have conveyed the Message so be my witness! O Allah, truly I have conveyed the Message so be my witness. O Allah, truly I have conveyed the Message so be my witness!

May Allah be my witness that I delivered the Message they delivered to me, and to be ready to sit away from problems and not to be involved in any side, to be busy with Holy Qur'an and with our awraad and prayers. Don’t lose your five daily prayers, pray firmly on time and be sure you are good on time, and be good with everyone around you and pray the best for all their lives, of our families, our children, our friends, our brothers and sisters and wives. May Allah bless them all with what they like, inshaa-Allah.
