Maghrib Suhbah
A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.
أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ
Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)
Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah, nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala fee hadha 'l-masjid. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.
كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان فى الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن سبحان الله و بحمده سبحان الله العظيم
There are two words that are very easy to say, yet very heavy on the Scale, most beloved to The Merciful, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem.” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Two words are very light on the tongue and very heavy on the Scale on the Day of Judgement, and it is very easy to say them. If it is as the Prophet (s) said, they are very light on the tongue, so you don’t feel them but they are very heavy on the Scale of Akhirah because it is a Scale in Akhirah and we cannot see it in dunya, which is why we are not recognizing or not accepting that the Scale is so heavy when we say these two words. You might say, “Yes, they are very light to mention,” but Allah (swt) gave the secret of Heaven inside them: the secret of heavenly forgiveness and the secret of heavenly mercy is in these words, or else why would the Prophet (s) have to say they are 'light on the tongue and very heavy in the Scale'? That is because they are very light on the tongue, but in Akhirah they are very heavy; you will save yourselves by them when Allah puts your `amal on the Scale and everyone is looking for whomever Allah wants to see that and He makes them to see!
Awliyaullah are able to see and understand the reality of the Hadith of Prophet (s) through the Sahaabah’s explanations. When these two words are put on the Scale, it means the secret of maghfirah and the secret of rahmah is the one appearing on the Scale and will take the Scale down due to their weight! There is so much rahmah and so much maghfirah! Allah is forgiving you if you say only one time, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem astaghfirullah,” it is the key that opens the secrets! The secret of opening Paradise is in “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah,” but the secret of the blessings of Paradise is in that phrase, “Praise be to Allah (swt)! Glory be to Allah (swt)!” because when someone praises Allah, He is happy!
That is why in the Naqshbandi awraad we have to say this phrase 100 times a day and if we don’t say it we ask Allah’s forgiveness for missing that. We will say it now and it will be kaffaaratun to whatever we missed of saying it before, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem astaghfirullah."
So do you want to enter Paradise? It is so easy, so simple, and we think everything is easy to get to Paradise, but saying, "SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem astaghfirullah" is not easy. The Prophet (s) and his Sahaabah (r) spilled their blood to bring this message to us; they gave their lives for this message to reach us, that is why it is our duty as Muslims--and inshaa-Allah we will be as mu’min--to glorify Allah (swt) day and night, that He honored us and created us to be from Afdhal al-Ummah, Akhyar al-Ummah, Aakhir al-Ummah, the best of the Ummah, the Most Honorable of the Ummah and the Last of the Ummah, “the last people” as Grandshaykh (q) used to say. Today we are going through what Allah (swt) said:
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
The Hour (of Judgement) is nigh and the moon is cleft asunder. (Surat al-Qamar, 54:1)
That Hour is ringing the bell, saying, “I am coming!” That Day it will be a horrible day, not for the mu’min, not for the Muslim; it will be a heavenly day for mu’min and Muslims. It is coming! You can see the Signs:
لا تقوم الساعة حتى تقتتل فئتان عظيمتان يكون بينهما مقتلة عظيمة دعوتهما واحدة
The Hour will not dawn until two great groups fight each other. There will be a great battle between them, but they will each be claiming the same thing. (Bukhari)
It is said in the Hadith that the Day of Judgement will not appear unless two big countries fight with each other, two large groups, `azheemataani yani, these two groups are so huge that you cannot see their beginning nor their end! They are two big nations, two great Ummahs, two magnificent nations so huge in number that you cannot count, and they will fight each other. Takoonu baynahuma malhamatun kubra, He (s) also said it is not a normal war, malhama, you know in Arabic or English literature or any literature they say ‘malhama’ when someone famous like Shakespeare writes an extraordinary piece of literature, meaning epic: it is malhama that blood will be showering on Earth!
Wa da`watuhuma waahida, They are fighting for one reason. Look at the whole world today, are they fighting for more than one reason? Why are they fighting, for what? They are fighting for a name they call 'ISIS', Iblees State, Isees (a novel) and malhama also; they are fighting for one issue and this is what the Prophet (s) said, wa da`watuhuma waahida, “What they are calling for is the same.” This one says, “I am fighting ISIS,” and the other says, “We are fighting ISIS,” might be ISIS is fighting both of them? We don’t know who is fighting. Jinn are pushing from one side, saying, “You are right, you are fighting ISIS,” and they go to the other side saying, “You are right, you are fighting ISIS,” and these two groups are fighting each other.
Now they are worried that they will hit each other in the air, this was on the news; they want to arrange between Russia and America which one goes first and which one goes second. Their issue is one: they are worried about irhaab, terrorism. Are they really worried about terrorism or something else? We don't know, we only know what the Prophet (s) predicted: he is giving us the Sign of the Last Day, and this is a Sign, that the Day of Judgement will not come, laa taqoomu ‘s-saa`ah, until two big groups of people fight each other and fight for one reason. If you look at that Hadith and look at today's news, what will you say about Rasoolullah (s)? You will say, “Sadaqa Rasoolullah (s)!” Who told him this? He not only said it, but predicted it, he knew, how he knew? Who told him? Allah (swt)! Don’t underestimate your Prophet (s), Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!
So what do we need to do? We need to not put our finger in anything, do like the babies. What do babies do? Some babies sleep and some suck on their finger and sleep. Suck on your finger and sleep, don’t bother yourself in navigating the Internet, it will disturb you; it is alright for studying, but you don’t need it for anything else. Shaytan will come and create disturbance between you and your wife, is it not? [Yes] How do you know? (laughter). What are you looking at? I am not looking at anything. It is good that I don’t know how to use a computer or an iPad, I am safe, but you are not. Who does not know how to use a computer, raise his hand. [Very few.]
So don’t interfere, suck your thumb and sleep, then you wake up not crying or hungry. What is in the thumb that children suck on it? You are sucking on your identity, your personality, you are getting all the secrets of your DNA from your thumb, because it is your identity. You take all this information for when you become an adult and it will be poured into your heart, knowledge. Don’t say, “This is Muslim and this isn't,” it is dunya knowledge through your thumb, but some get heavenly knowledge. If you suck your Shahaadah finger you will get heavenly knowledge. Did you see anyone suck it? No, but if you do, Akhirah knowledge will come. Most people suck the thumb, but you do the Shahaadah.
So today this is our problem: don’t interfere, don’t bother with anyone, suck on your Shahaadah finger to remind you to say, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem astaghfirullah” as saying this will be forgiveness and protection from Allah (swt) for you today! Tomorrow is something else, with more protection and more rahmah, different rewards, there are different rewards every day. When you read a book you see that it is not the same; every day you turn a new page, it is different and heavenly knowledge is like that, every day there is new knowledge and Allah will give as long as you are asking!
May Allah (swt) give us from His Endless Beneficial Knowledge, from the Knowledge that He gave to Sayyidina Muhammad (s). We are khudaam an-Nabi (s), servants of Prophet (s), we are happy to be under his feet, to be with him in dunya and Akhirah, and to be with Awliyaullah and shuyookh with all Tariqahs.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
