Salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. [Du`a.] Alhamdulillahi ’Lladhee sharaafana ana nakoona min Ummati ’l-Habeeb al-Mustafa wa huwaa `alayhi afdalus ‘s-salaat wa salaam.
It is an honor for me to be here and it took me by surprise when they asked me to give a talk, a tawsiya dars, and you know tawsiya between `ulama and habaa’ib...I am a simple person, I am not the caliber of habaa’ib and `ulama. We hope to be at the feet of `ulama, at the feet of habaa’ib, at the feet of awliyaullah, at the feet of Prophet (s), to be under his feet, to be soil or sand under Na`l Sharif, his Holy Sandal!
Whatever we praise of Prophet (s) is nothing compared to his greatness! May Allah (swt) bless what they are doing and give them more and more health in order to pull more and more wealth into the community to open such huge compounds of buildings. If you didn’t see their pamphlet, it is here. I was amazed by what they (project developers) are doing, alhamdulillah trying their best to make Riyaadh al-Jannah, the Gardens of Paradise on Earth, following Habeeb al-Mustafa (s), as mentioned in the Hadith reported by Ibn `Umar (r) that the Prophet (s) said:
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: إذا مررتم برياض الجنة فارتع. قالو وما رياض الجنة؟ قال "حلق الذكر"
“When you pass by the Gardens of Paradise, avail yourselves of them." The Companions asked: "What are the Gardens of Paradise, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "The circles of dhikr.” (Tirmidhi)
I stress this Hadith because it is very important to know how much Allah loves us and how much Prophet (s) loves his Ummah, that for them he turned Earth into a Paradise! We fight when we go to Madinah or Mecca to be near Ka`abatullah or to be near Prophet (s) in his holy Paradise in Madinah al-Munawarrah, to pray two rak`ats at Rawdat ash-Sharifah, his holy Paradise in Madinah al-Munawwara, as he (s) said:
ما بين قبري و منبري روضة من رياض الجنة
Between my grave and my pulpit is a garden from the Gardens of Paradise. (Bukhari and Muslim)
“Between my grave and my pulpit, Rawdatun, is a piece of Paradise.” Allah (swt) gave him that Paradise, so why is it advisable to pray in Rawdah Shareef? Because there is no way out, there is only an entrance to Paradise, no exit! When you enter you don’t exit, not like in dunya, where you have one door as an entrance and ten doors are exits. There you have one door for entrance and no doors to exit from Paradise, because when Allah gives He doesn't take back, Huwa al-Mu`tee, He gives generously! For what does He want to take? He has treasures that never end, and He gives without end and without His treasures being less because He gives more.
I was a Hidden Treasure (and) I wanted to be known, so I created Creation. (Hadith Qudsi)
“I was a Hidden Treasure and My Beautiful Names and Attributes describe Me. I wanted to be known, ma`rifatullah, so I created Creation.” Our goal is to know Allah (swt) and to see Him. Inshaa-Allah in Paradise we will be able to see Him. In dunya the only one that saw Him, and I can say this without being afraid, is Prophet (s): he saw the Divine Presence with the eyes of his head, physically, not spiritually, to see what cannot be seen, to hear what cannot be heard, to know what cannot be known.
Above every knower is a (higher) knower. (Surah Yusuf, 12:76)
We must be happy, we must smile, and never getting angry, never be afraid because Allah gave us a rawdah: when you pray two rak`ats there do you think it is finished? Allah (swt) creates angels in the same place you prayed to make tasbeeh and continue to pray and give you that reward until the Day of Judgement! Allah is generous, we don’t know what kind of rewards He will give, whatever we think of gifts or rewards, He gives more, His gifts are never-ending! When Allah (swt) gave His Prophet (s) his Rawdah, and inshaa-Allah we will always go there, when you pray there it is in Paradise, so how are you going to stand there? You are in front of Allah (swt) bayna yadayy ar-Rahmaan, between the Hands of Allah (swt), between His Power, His Qudrah, His `Ilm, knowledge. When you are there, nearer than any place on Earth, Prophet (s) is there, the Rawdah is there and Allah’s Manifestation of His Noor is there, so what do you want better than that? We want nothing more, yaa Rabbee, but we want a rawdah here at our level in dunya! So Prophet (s) with that Hadith that is mentioned, wa idha marartu bi ‘l-riyaad al-jannah, Allahu Akbar! This is something that we are never going to forget that Prophet (s) turned dunya into a rawdah.
“If you pass by Riyaad al-Jannah, the Circles of Dhikr,” which means there are riyaadhs in dunya, “sit there immediately, don’t waste any time, because you will be blessed with the tajalli, manifestations that Allah (swt) is blessing me with and you will inherit as my Ummah!” Prophet (s) will never leave his Ummah to be lost. Such associations are a rawdah, because Prophet (s) mentioned there are rawdahs on Earth and the Sahaabah (r) asked, “What are these rawdahs?” Prophet (s) said, “They are circles of dhikr.” Dhikrullah is to remember Allah, which is `ibaadah. Dhikr an-Nabi is to make salawaat on Prophet (s) and is `ibaadah; therefore, any mention of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is `ibaadah, even when we say “Muhammad”, as Allah (swt) said:
وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ
By the star when it descends, your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a Revelation revealed. (Surat an-Najm, 53:1-4)
Wa maa yantiqu `ani ’l-hawaa...an-nutuq, they ask from where is the nutuq? It is from the throat, so anything coming from his throat is wahi and he would not speak or address except through wahi. Every moment Prophet (s) was an-naatiq, always speaking and receiving (the Revelation), always remembering and being remembered! Allah is always remembering him (s), Allah and His angels are doing salawaat on His Prophet (s).
Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:56)
What kind of salawaat, do we know? We do salawaat: right now they are doing qasidah, which is salawaat on Prophet (s), high praise in Arabic. We know one, two, three, four, or one hundred or one million salawaat on Prophet (s) and many awliyaullah and Sahaabah praised Prophet (s) in many, many ways, but in limits and when Allah ordered His angels to make salawaat on Prophet it is not in limits, Inna ’Llaaha wa malaa'ikatahu yusalloona `ala 'n-nabiyy, He left it open, yusalloon. Allah is sending His Beautiful Names and Attributes on Prophet (s), dressing him from His Endless Treasures every moment, so when Allah ordered His angels to make salawaat, what do you think they recite? We know, “Allah is The Greatest, Allah is The Grandeur,” with no limit, not repeating any salawaat twice. Ahadiyya is one; Wahdaaniyya is many: everything in Creation points to His Oneness and reminds us of the Creator. Ahadiyya is Uniqueness and cannot be known except by Allah (swt), Who knows Maqaam al-Ahadiyya. So Allah is One, The Creator, Prophet (s) is one, the Seal of Messengers.
Allah ordered the angels to make salawaat on the Prophet (s). Let us take one angel and there is an infinite number of angels as in every moment angels are created,so there are countless, we don’t know how many. Allah is al-Khaaliq, always creating, it never stops, so it is also not correct to say His Creation stops, that means we are diminishing Allah's power. Allah is always giving more and more, and different from what He already gave, never stopping, always unique, no copying! Here we make copies of books to read the same qaseedahs, but with angels one salawaat cannot be repeated another time: the first salawaat has to be different, the second, third, forth each one is different, unique in its meaning and understanding, with the Light and Greatness that comes with it as the infallible angels are doing it, with the greatness that Allah (swt) is The Only One to know what He is praising Prophet through His angels! That is for one angel and there is no repetition allowed, it is recited one time when Allah opens that and the next has to be different, the third has to be different, with the Greatness and the Light that Allah put on His angels. The second angel does not copy what the first angel does, it recites completely different praises on Prophet (s). The second angel recites a different salawaat than the first angel and how many angels are there? Can we count? No way, only Allah knows!
So the baraka of hilaq adh-dhikr is unending because the angels encompass and dress everyone and recite and praise with everyone on Prophet (s) or Allah (swt) and it will all be written for us. For example, according to laws of physics, if you make a sound does it stop or continue? That sound will not stop until the Day of Judgement because sound is light and light never distinguishes, all these different lights you see are energy from one source, from Qudratullah, the Ocean of Power! Allah created that energy with which we see light, we hear with, to run cameras... Allah gave. Those sounds, 'Hu.’ 'Allah,’ ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah’ and salawaat will keep going. I heard from scientists that there are sounds coming from outer space reaching Earth after billions of years through space travel, that they hear but cannot understand. That sound reaches us after one million years travelling through space at a speed of 300,000 kilometers per second and by the time it reaches us it might not even exist anymore. So sound does not stop. When you press the computer and ask to repeat the word, “SubhaanAllah” does it stop if it is plugged? It will keep repeating “SubhaanAllah”.
What about us? We are Allah’s Creation, Allah’s invention. The moment you say “Allah,” Allah dresses you with a Light and a reward that no one knows except Him and angels are writing the rewards for you. The second time you say “Allah,” with its own unique properties it will continue until the Day of Judgement. So when you say, “Laa ilaaha illa ’Llah, Laa ilaaha illa ’Llah, Laa ilaaha illa ’Llah, ” it will be written for you up to Judgement Day. That’s why Prophet (s) said, “When you pass through the Gardens of Paradise on Earth, sit,” because when angels come, for however long you sit there it becomes a paradise for you as if you are sitting in a heavenly paradise, according to the level of the people there.
That is why Allah (swt) said, according to a Holy Hadith of Prophet and if we understood it we would faint immediately:
أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي
I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsi. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)
Allah says, “I sit with those who remember Me.”
Sayyidina Musa (a) asked to see Allah, Who said, “Lan taranee, there is no possibility,” but to make it easy for His Prophet He said, “Look at the mountain, okay, I will give one possibility: if the mountain stays by itself when I send My Manifestations then you will see Me.” But when Allah sent His Manifestation, the mountain shattered!
Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily you would have seen it humble itself and shatter for fear of Allah! Such are the similitudes that We propound to men that they may reflect.
(Surat al-Hashr, 59:21)
Allah is saying in the Holy Qur’an, “The mountain shattered when the Holy Qur’an was revealed, as it could not carry that load.” What about Prophet (s)? The Qur’an was revealed to the heart of Prophet (s) and his heart didn’t shatter! What a Greatness Allah gave to him! Dhikrullah can turn a piece of soil into a piece of Heaven, so anyone passing run and sit there. In this country or any country around the world where they are making dhikr, sit with them as it is a rawdah as Prophet (s) mentioned. What is the Greatness? Allah (swt) says, “I sit with those who remember Me.” Sayyidina Musa didn’t get that, but Allah gave Ummat an-Nabi that! What did we get tonight from this event, nothing? We just showed up and recited, “Allah, Allah, yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ’l-`Aalameen, yaa Shafi`ee al-Mudhnibeen,” if Allah opens for us to see the reward He will grant us we will faint! Now we are veiled, because we are not ready to receive these levels of seeing and hearing. `Ilm al-Yaqeen,`Ayn al-Yaqeen, Haqq al-Yaqeen, Knowledge of Certainty or Reality, Vision of Reality and then we know the Truth of Reality. First we know of the `ilm through what our teachers teach us through books and when we are uplifted more we will reach `Ayn al-Yaqeen, we can see things that people cannot see. Don’t say, “It is not correct,” no, it is correct! It is supported by a strong Hadith of Prophet (s) in which Allah (swt) said to him:
[Summary] If My servant approaches Me by voluntary worship I will love him, then I will be his ears he can hear with, his tongue that he can speak with, his hands that he can move things with.
(Hadith Qudsi, Bukhari)
“I will give him power to walk on Siraat al-Mustaqeem.” Allah gave, but you have to keep love to Allah (swt) by approaching Him. Ma zaala abdee yataqarrabu ilayya, as long as My servant approaches Me through voluntary worshipness--not through obligation, which we have to do for sure but through nawaafil--I will love him. When Allah loves someone, haddith wa laa haraj, maa laa `aynun ra’at wa laa udhunun sami`at wa laa khatara `ala qalbi bashar. Allah is saying to us, “What do you want better, O Ummat an-Nabi? For the sake of My Prophet I will be with the ones who remember Me!”
Now we are remembering Allah (swt) with His Prophet (s), is He not sitting with us? Not literally, but He is manifesting His Beautiful Names and Attributes on us, but we cannot understand or see it, it is like downloading and uploading: you take from the server and put it on your computer, so it is planted in our heart’s computer and when the time comes it will be uploaded. Now we cannot get it uploaded, the computer will explode as these Lights are being compressed using very high compression that you cannot see, like a small computer chip that stores millions of data Can your heart not be like that? Of course it can, it is Allah’s Creation, it is not a human invention! Your heart store not only terabytes but unlimited bytes! You will have that, but if it opens to you immediately you will explode. So when they plug you you have to be ready through voluntary worshipness. What is voluntary?
Say (O Muhammad), "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me! Allah will love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat Aali-'Imraan, 3:31)
If you claim that you love Allah then follow Muhammad (s). “In kuntum, tell them, yaa Muhammad, fa-ttabi`oonee,” itiba`ah an-Nabi (s), Allah’s love doesn’t come if you don’t follow Prophet (s).
Leave what Prophet (s) forbade and take what he ordered. (Surat al-Hashr, 59:7)
If you prepare yourself according to that ayah, “Whatever Prophet gave to you take it,” it means if it is good you win, if it is bad you lose, and if you take it never ends as Allah gives more. So when you say, “I love you, yaa Muhammad (s),” it has to be really the same way the Bedouin came to the Prophet (s) and asked him, Mata sa`a yaa Rasoolullah, “When is the Day of Judgement?” Prophet (s) said, “What have you prepared?” and the Bedouin replied with something that really was in his heart. These two letters in Arabic that made a change in the heart of the Bedouin which he mentioned to Prophet (s) “Hubb,” comprised of the Arabic letters Haa and Baa. Hubb is love, “I love you, yaa Muhammad (s), mahabbatak yaa Rasoolullah!” Prophet said, yuhsharu ma` man ahabb, “People will be resurrected with whom they love.” So if he said ‘hubb’ it carries a lot of meanings” the first letter Haa represents hayaat, means all your life will be described under the letter Haa, al-harf Haa. Baa represents baqaa, when you have hayaat Allah gives you baqa. When you have real life in dunya then you leave what Prophet (s) forbade and take what he ordered, and itiba` an-Nabi, you follow him! That will take you...your hayaat will be abadi hayaat, eternal in Akhirah and baqaa, always existing! May Allah (swt) make us to be always with Prophet (s) in dunya and Akhirah!
From here, yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li ’l-`Aalameen, yaa Shafi`ee al-Mudhnibeen, we are calling, we are knocking the door! If it opens alhamdulillah, if it doesn’t open keep knocking until it opens. We are asking yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah:
Salaat al-Faatih
Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammadi ’l-faatihi limaa ughliqa wa 'l-khaatimi limaa sabaqa naasiri 'l-haqqi bi 'l-haqqi wa 'l-haadiyy ilaa siraatika 'l-mustaqeema sall 'Llahu `alayhi wa `alaa aalihi wa-ashaabihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdaarihi 'l-`azheem.
O Allah! Bless our Master Muhammad (s), who opened what was closed and who is the Seal of what went before, he who makes the Truth victorious by the Truth, the guide to Your Straight Path, and bless his Household as is the due of his immense position and grandeur!
He (s) said this to us and we are knocking on the door! Please, yaa Rasoolullah, we are begging you, asking you to open your door, open the things that have been closed on us, al-faatih li maa ughliq, whatever has been closed open it for us yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! [Du`a.]
May Allah bless us with His Endless Rahmah.
Wa ‘s-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.
