Asr Suhbah (2)
In 1996, before the big International Islamic Unity Conference, we were invited by Dr. `Ali Zaki to his home, and many mureeds came and some of the people attending, some kids, came and asked me and the eminent Shaykh Buheiri of Egypt questions.
One asked, “Does Allah encompass the Throne or not?”
Shaykh Buheiri looked at him and explained, but the boy still argued. Shaykh Buheiri said, “After Egyptian mashayikh there are no mashayikh. Keep quiet! There is no questioning in Shari`ah! Don't question the mashayikh of Egypt, they are oceans!”
So you don't know from where these people appear and give a hard time to the speaker. Then Dr `Ali said, “If you don't like it, you can go out of my house.” How do they dare say such things? ar-Rahmaanu `ala al-`Arsh. And they ask, kayfa al-istiwaa wa hal al istiwaa kulli, etc. It means don't touch on that subject, because no one understands it. Llahu ma fis-samaawaati wa ma fil ardi wa maa tahta ath-tharaa, wa in tajharu bil qawl fa innahu ya`alamu sirra wa akhfa. Even if you speak loudly, He knows the Hidden and the Most Hidden.
Grandshaykh (q) said Maqaam al-Qalb, the Station of the Heart, is for dunya. Whatever you do in dunya, speak with people or anything, Shaytan can enter your body, as the Prophet (s) mentioned. Then there is Maqaam as-Sirr, the Station of the Secret. If you look here not everyone can see, but when you look here what do you see? The realities of all sitting in this place, the station to see everyone's realities. They know what Allah has given you, everything from A to Z. Either you are knowledgeable or you are an engineer. If you have spiritual power they know it in detail, and this is what they call the “blueprints” in Tariqah.
So Allah knows the Secret, because He created it, and before you reach the level of Akhfa, there are two levels of Secrets: the one secret you can look here, as I said. You can see people in the first level of Qalb, but on the second level, you see people in a different way: the angelic dress Allah dressed them with in order to prepare them to enter the Divine Presence, as Allah (swt) prepared the Prophet (s) to do so according to his level and not according to our level.
The Secret is only for Awliyaullah, and that Secret of Secret is only for the Prophet (s). The first takes you to Akhfa and the latter takes you to Khafaa. You were born Hidden already, khafaa, and akhfa; what He hides from you He does not want you to know. As-Sirra wa Akhfa, the Akhfa is everything that He hides from you. Khafaa are things that are there and that He owns, you don't own them. They ask questions, they don't know it is tafseer, they want to make their own tafseer. Time is running, that is why:

We have not sent down the Qur'an to you to be (an occasion) for your distress, But only as an admonition to those who fear ((Allah)), A revelation from Him Who created the Earth and the Heavens on high; The Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). Unto Him belongs all that is in the Heavens and all that is on Earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod.
(Surah Ta-Ha, 20:2-6)
“Ta Ha” is the Prophet (s), the two letters Ta and Ha. “We didn't descend the Holy Qur’an on you to make you miserable as a hardship.” Prophet (s) is in the Divine Presence with Jibreel (a). What is tashaqaa? To put you in difficulty. He is already out of difficulty, but man anzalna `alayk al-qur’an li tashqa, “We have not sent down the Qur’an to distress you,” Allah is saying, “Don't worry, I am giving it to you. I did not send down the Holy Qur'an to give the Ummah a hard time, I am releasing them from the hands of Shaytan.” For those who recite the Holy Qur'an, “I only sent the Holy Qur'an for those who fear Allah.”
If you fear in your heart that you are going to be away from Allah, as happened to Sayyida Rabi`a al-`Adawiyya (q) after her husband died, the `ulama wanted her to marry. She was making istighfaar non-stop.
They asked her, “What makes you afraid?”
She said, “I am busy.”
“With what? You have no children, no work.”
She said, “I am busy making istighfaar.”
“You have done all this and even taught `ulama, so how are you afraid?”
She said, “I am afraid that if Allah wills to change and put me in Hellfire, what can I do, can anyone object?”
So, “I am sending you the Holy Qur'an not to make anyone in difficulty. No, I am sending you a Qur’an which is naatiq,” when you recite a verse, the Holy Qur'an is natiqiyyun, it speaks and recites the same ayah. You read any ayah to show you good advice, that ayah will be repeated and a Wali can understand and hear the angels that are reciting that ayah, and it will be rewarded to you. If you pass by and ayah of `adhaab, that too will be rewarded to you. So what does, “Verily, every one of you will pass by Hellfire” mean?
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَّقْضِيًّا
Not one of you but will pass over it: this is, with your Lord, a Decree which must be accomplished. (Surah Maryam, 19:71)
Everyone is going to pass over the Resurrection area, if we can say that, that plain, passing from dunya, Earth, to Jannah over that Bridge. According to your `amal, you might cross 10% of the Bridge, and if your `amal is better, you might pass and then fall into Hellfire. Similarly, if your `amal is 25%, you will fall into Hellfire according to what Allah is going to punish you with. This verse confused all `ulama: wa in minkum illa waariduhaa, “There is no exception, everyone is going to pass.” Some will fall down and they will be punished according to their levels.
َمَا نُرْسِلُ بِالآيَاتِ إِلاَّ تَخْوِيفًا
We only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil). (Surat al-Israa’, 17:59)
Wa in minkum illa waariduha is not takhweefa: it says, “Everyone is going to pass by Hellfire,” but the other verse, wa ma nursilu bi
‘l-ayaati illa takhweefa is like an adult saying to a child, “'Don't do that,” to frighten the child. “We don't send these verses to frighten you.” Therefore, when someone reads that verse and is frightened, that is enough.
So what is that Bridge? Allah (swt) looks at His servant and wants them to be forgiven. Hatman maqdiyya, that is something already written. Grandshaykh (q) said that Allah will judge between people and one person out muhaasiba, people being judged with Rahmatullah ,passed the Bridge and was on the side of Jannah side.
The `abd in Paradise was now asking Allah, saying, “O my Lord! All my life I sinned, what did I do to enter Paradise?”
At that moment, Allah will say, “You are forgiven by Shafa`at an-Nabi (s), but be aware of Naar al-Hasrah, the Fire of Sorrow!” that Allah will send on everyone to frighten them about punishment. When that `abd says, “I did not do anything good,” Allah says, “I am saving you from punishment in Hellfire and putting you in Paradise, but I am punishing you now with Naar al-Hasrah.”
Grandshaykh (q) said that if you put the whole universe in Naar al-Hasrah, it will disappear and melt, then everyone will appear in front of Allah and because we are from Ummat an-Nabi (s) and Allah wants to save us, at that moment He will create someone in your image with your name and throw them it in Naar al-Hasrah in that same form, sparing him from being thrown into Hellfire, and He puts him Jannah! That person will feel, “How did Allah save me when I was such a wrongdoer!” That punishment will continue on your alternate form for as long as you are written to be under punishment. Then Allah gives you to look at Ahl an-Naar, the People of Hellfire, and see the one in his form. The khitaab, an announcement comes, “Yaa `abdee! This is where you were going to end up, but I am ending it on your twin form, which does not feel anything, to show you every day how much mercy I gave you and how much punishment you deserved!”
So Allah says, taha ma anzalna `alayk al-quran li tashqaa, “I did not reveal the Holy Qur'an to give you difficulty.” He is not going to call us one by one. Do you call on the sheep or on the shepherd? The Prophet (s) is the one who has been given the authority to send people to Paradise. Grandshaykh (q) said that Allah has hakama `ala al-`ibaad qabal an yakhluq al-`ibaad, already predestined the destiny of people before He created them.
Not Cancun, but cocoon. Everyone of us in our own cocoon. When the time is right, what comes out, but a butterfly? What do you like more than to be a butterfly? The soul in this life enters the cocoon and then comes out as butterfly, it can fly. You were first a worm, then when you progress in prayers and so on, you will be able to fly. Like Jalaluddin al-Rumi (q) who was progressing more and more until, like a turbine, he was able to fly. Now people do as Jalaluddin Rumi (q) did, but who can fly? They imitate him, but they don't rise up.
One time I was invited to a conference where there were some people were going to whirl like Jalaluddin Rumi (q) and they said one of them was going to fly. I said, “What is this? It might be jinn.” I looked and he was sitting on his back. If you push him up this much, he raised up about half a meter and then fell down. That is the power of the body, he was able to rise up, but not able to move. This is gymnastic training, but when Sayyidina Jalaluddin Rumi (q) would enter, he would rise up, look at others from high above and raise them up to his own level.
So, taha ma anzalna `alayk al-qurana li tashqaa, “We only sent this, but to remind people they must fear Allah.” When they ask me tafseer of this ayah, wa ma nursilu bi’l-ayaati illa tafkhweefa, I explain it as Grandshaykh (q) explained these `ulama. They were from Saudi Arabia, they are so happy to understand that according to what Grandshaykh (q) explained. “There is not one of you who will, but pass by Hellfire.”
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
Every house you pass by has decorations. I was passing the checkpoint to go to Madinatu 'l-Munawwara and when they checked me they found my ruqya and said, “What is this?” I knew what to tell them. There is no explanation, they will call it shirk. I said, “This is ruqya.”
They said, “This is shirk because you are asking this one to save you, not Allah. Come inside to answer.” When you enter inside you are finished, and I was living there, but if you don't answer they can deport you.
I said, “With all my respect, do you give me time to say something?”
He said, “Yes.” He was friendly.
I said, “If you can turn your chair give me your back and turn to the wall.”
He said, “What is this?” He was friendly, but around him officers were watching him.
I said, “You are hanging these verses of Holy Qur'an on the wall, butwhy? Is it not for baraka? This is shirk. Why put them on the wall and not on your heart?”
He said, “You can go.”
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
