A`oodhu billahi ‘s Sami` al-Aleem min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem.
A`oodhu billahi ‘s Sami` al-Aleem min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem.
Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Laa hawla wa laa quwatta illa billahi 'l-`Aliyyu 'l-`Azheem.
Mashaa-Allah, may Allah (swt) allow the light of Awliyaullah to enter your hearts. That love of Rasoolullah (s) that is in the hearts of saints, in the hearts of peeraan. You’re not going to find the love of Rasoolullah (s) in books. You’re not going to find the love of Rasoolullah (s) in songs. You’re not going to find the love of Rasoolullah (s) with Maher Zain. The love of Rasoolullah (s) is found in the hearts of Awliyaullah. When you connect yourself, when you enter into their presence, that love that is in their heart will flow to you, depending on how much you desire it.
If you're not in need of any love of Rasoolullah (s) or you're not desiring it--that's what they call talab. If you have no talab, you're not requesting then nothing will come. But if you're coming requesting love of Rasoolullah (s), it will come to you from their hearts. As iman flows to the hearts, love of Rasoolullah (s) flows to the heart.
Iman doesn't come to any place else in the body. It doesn't come to the mind, it doesn't come to the psyche or any of that. If the mind was the organ to accept Islam, all the people of Quraysh would have accepted Islam. They were all poets. They had very high knowledge of the Arabic language. They had good understanding, but it's not by the mind. It is by the heart.
The Qur’an came to the heart of Rasoolullah (s) and he delivered it to the hearts. If you want love of Rasoolullah (s), you have to find somebody that has that love in their hearts. Colleges won't give you the love of Rasoolullah (s). Universities won't give it to you either.. They might show you a picture.
Are you married? If I show you a picture, you say, “Yeah, okay, no problem. I can marry this one,” and I give you the picture, “Here, marry her.” You say, “This is a picture. What do I do with it? I want the real one.”
It is the same thing with the love of Rasoolullah (s). They show you a picture. They show you how it can be. They show you how it should be through their words. But you say, “I don't want the picture. I want the real thing.” That is `aynu ‘l-yaqeen. You have `ilmu ‘l-yaqeen. Knowledge by news. You hear there's Baghdad in the world. Have you ever heard of it? Yes. So you say, “I heard of it. I believe in it.” Have you ever seen it? Maybe he did. Did you see it? No. There is khabar, `ilm istidlal and there’s `ilm yaqeen. There is, “I heard of it,” but there is, “I have seen it, " and, “I visited it.” There are three different stages.
So first, you hear about the love of Rasoolullah (s). There is love of Rasoolullah (s) in certain hearts. You don't know which hearts but then you see a saint, you see a pir, you see a shaykh, and you say, “He has it,” and then you go in. So, you know about a city, you've seen the city from outside, but then you are in the city. That's what we need. We need that love of Rasoolullah (s) to be in our hearts, not only to listen and hear. That's what's missing nowadays. You have so many speakers everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. Everybody is doing a mehfil. Everybody is doing a lecture. Everybody is doing Shama'il. Okay, we understand there is the love of Rasoolullah (s) but are you able to make that love flow to the hearts of people? Very few are able to do that. These are the sincere ones. Inshaa-Allah, Allah (swt) will make us join them, and be with them, so they can teach us how to reach that love of Rasoolullah (s). How do you reach that love?
Awliyaullah have said when Sayyidina Adam (a) descended from Jannah, he asked, Allah (swt), “Yaa Rabbee. Didn't You create me by Your hands without any intermediate?” Allah (swt) said, limaa khalaqtu bi yadayya.
(Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with My Hands? Are you haughty? Or are you one of the high (and mighty) ones?" (Surah Saad, 38:75)
Whom I created with My Hands. He said, “Yes, I created you by My Hands.” He said, “Yaa Rabbee. If You are making me fall down to earth and You have said that Your Rahmah has superseded Your Ghadab, Your Mercy has superseded Your Anger, isn’t that true?” He said, “Yes.”
“Yaa Rabbee. If I correct myself and I come back to You, is there a way for me to reach Jannah again?”
When Sayyidina Adam (a) descended from Paradise, he was told to seek a way back. He said, “The hudaa, guidance will come.” Fa man tabi` hudayya fa laa khawfun `alayhim wa laa hum yahzanoon.
We said: "Get you down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from me, whosoever follows My guidance, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:38)
Allah (swt) is saying that, “Whoever follows My Guidance, will find his way back to closeness to Me.’ Qurba.
What are you doing in this dunya, O insaan? In this dunya you are trying to find a way to be close to Allah (swt) again, not to be far away from Allah (swt), especially here in Silicon Valley. You’re very close to the “S” with the two lines. They only come for Allah (swt) if there’s a problem. That’s why Allah (swt) sends the problems. Why does Allah (swt) send balaa? Rasoolullah (s) it’s a whip. He whips you back to Him because you’ve forgotten Him. You don’t know the way anymore. The only way you know is bitcoin, cryptocurrency, IRA, 401K, Wall Street. That’s what all of us know. We are only into that. Allah (swt) sends you the problem to wake you up and come back. He says, “Whoever follows My Guidance will find the way back to Jannah, will find the way back to Me.” We are supposed to be back to Allah (swt)’s Presence. Don’t find another way.
Sayyidina Adam (a) said, “Yaa Rabbee. How is the way to Jannah? What is in Jannah?” Rasoolullah (s) said this in a very simple way but, subhaanAllah, it has all the knowledge we need. It’s for us. We are not lecturers, scholars, big `alims or big da`ee. That is for the others. They can claim to be whatever they want to be. We are muhhib, lovers and we are taalib, seekers. Don’t aspire to be higher than that. Don’t say, “Mashaa-Allah, I know one Hadith or ten Hadith or twenty Hadith. I have become a big `alim.” There’s no need. You have to know Hadith, Qur’an and kaalamu ‘l-Awliya to find your way to Jannah. That’s about it. You take what you need to continue your way.
I heard this from my father, Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. Rasoolullah (s) said that when he was taken to Jannah, he saw the four rivers. In Jannah there are four rivers: the river of water, the river of milk, the river of honey and the river of wine. He asked Jibril (a), “Where do these rivers come from and where do they go?” Rasoolullah (s) was Rasool for all of Bani Adam, for all of the Children of Adam. Rasoolullah (s) was the ultimate and most perfect Messenger. All of them are messengers and we don’t deny any of them but Rasoolullah (s) completed the way and perfected it.
If you want to drink from the rivers of Jannah, how do we get there? Where do they come from? What’s the source? Where do they go? Jibril (a) said, “They go to your house, Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar.” All of these four rivers will go to that Pond of Kawthar and whoever is blessed to drink from the cups that are there or from the Holy Hand of Rasoolullah (s) will enter Jannah. You have to meet Rasoolullah (s) at the House. Do you have directions to the House, to the Pond?
We were in Montreal. Mashaa-Allah, they have a big lake there. How do we get there? First you have to go up the mountain then you have to turn right, then you have to turn left and then you park, walk and then you find the lake. How do you reach Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar, the Pond of Rasoolullah (s)? He said, “I will be at the Pond and I will see so many of my Ummah moving away from me. I will say, ‘Come here. I’m here. Come to me.’” It is more of the Hadith that he has said that, “People are turning away from my Pond and going somewhere else.”
Because they have changed the Sunnah of Rasoolullah (s). These are ahlu ‘l-bida, the people of innovation. There are so many of them. Stay with Ahlu ‘l-Sunnah wa ‘l-Jamah. Alhamdulillah, we follow a madhab, either Imam Adham, Imam Shafi, Imam Malik or Imam Ahmad, whatever you want to follow but you have to have one of four madhabs. If you go out of the four madhaahib, you have lost the way. The first sign of anyone losing their way is to say, “We have fifth madhab or a sixth madhab,” or, “You don’t need a madhab. You can find your way through the Qur’an and Sunnah,” as they say nowadays. No, you have to find a madhab.
He said, “So many people have diverted away from your way and went somewhere else.” The four rivers of Jannah, the source and the destination, where they go is into the Pond. He said, “I don’t know but ask Allah (swt) to show you the source of the four rivers,” so he asked.
An angel came and took him somewhere. Again, I heard this from Mawlana Shaykh Hisham. When Rasoolullah (s) was there, he found himself in front of a big white dome made of pearls. If you gather all humans and jinn and you put them on top of the dome, it’s as if you are a bird on top of these mountains up here. Did you see the mountains coming up here? All we saw was this line of mountains from San Francisco.
If you put all jinns and humans on the top of that dome, it would be like a bird on the mountain. From under the dome, these four rivers are coming out. Rasoolullah (s) wanted to know the source of these four rivers. If you want to drink from the four rivers of Jannah, if you want to meet Rasoolullah (s) at the Pond, Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar, you have to know how to get there. You have to know the source of these rivers. It is not rocket science. It is so simple but it has everything in it for the common people like us, the ones who have not read Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim or the six books of Sahih of Sayyidina Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and the rest. It is for the ones who have no knowledge to go to colleges down here in Berkeley. This Hadith is enough for you.
He went and saw a door with a lock on it. He turned back. Sayyidina Jibril (a) asked him, “Why don’t you open the lock?” He said, “I don’t know how to open it.”
He said, “You have the key.”
What is the key? Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” has everything we need in it if you can reach deep into the meanings of, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” into the meanings of these three names. What are you here in this dunya for? For ma`rifatullah. You are here to know about your Creator. All of the Holy Names are in these three Names: Allah (swt), Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem.
He said, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” and the lock opened. He entered. Mawlana continues the explanation of the Hadith. He saw, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” written on the four corners of the dome. He saw one of the rivers coming out from the hole of the meem. Do you know how meem is? We have, “Yaa Rahman. Yaa Raheem” here. It is close enough. The meem is a circle. He saw the first river coming from there. The second river came from the haa of Lafdhatu ‘l-Jalala, Allah (swt), that Huwiya, that Hu. If you take the alif, laam, laam, what remains? Haa. Hu. Allahu. Take the alif from that Hu, Unknown.
The third river was coming from the circle of the meem in Ar-Rahmah and the fourth river coming from the meem of Ar-Raheem, the last meem. Four circles. These four rivers are coming from the Holy Names of Allah (swt). Where is it going to come from? It’s going to come from the Noor of Asmaa’ullah al-Husnaa. Those rivers of Jannah will come from the Noor of Allah (swt)’s Beautiful Names and Attributes. All the Noor of these Names are going into the Pond of Rasoolullah (s). You need to drink from the Noor of these Names. You have to find Rasoolullah (s). To find Rasoolullah (s), you have to find Awliyaullah, not the books, not the songs, not the curriculum, not the diploma that they give you to put on the wall. No, they don’t put it on the wall. They attach it to their shirt wherever they go. “I’m graduate of this. I’m a graduate of that.” If you don’t know then they put all the books behind them. “I know all of these books.”
Where did these books take you to? They have taken you to kibr. Do you know what kibr is? Arrogance, when you inflate yourself. You just inflated yourself with a diploma, with the books. Who inflated himself? Shaytan. What happened? There was one test and the whole big balloon blew up and became nothing. He became nothing and he was kicked out. Don’t inflate yourself.
Our Way that we learned from our shuyookh is not to inflate yourself, rather to humble yourself down. This is the way.
“Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” was coming from these four Names. Mawlana continues narrating the story. Allah (swt) revealed to Rasoolullah (s), “Whoever calls Me by these three Names, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem, with a heart clean from showoff, riya`...” So many `ibaadah, so many good things that people do are to be known, whether Muslim or non-Muslim. They do good things for others to know that they have done them. Are you doing it for Allah (swt) or for people to know about it? If you’re doing it for people to know about it then go to the people and get your rewards from them. What do they say? “You’re a great one.” Good for you. That will not benefit you on the Day of Judgment. You have already taken the praise.
Allah (swt) will praise you on the Day of Judgment if you do amal khalis, sincere, clean, clear of every other goal. He said, “Whoever says, ‘Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,’ with a clean, sincere heart, without any kind of showoff or any other goal, Allah (swt) says, ‘I will water him from these four rivers.’”
Rasoolullah (s) has that. “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” is the way to go. It is said that whoever recites, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” as many times as you want, haybah will come to him. Allah (swt) will dress you with majestic power. What is haybah? Majesty. When people look at you, they feel something. They feel scared. Not scared but fear with awe. Allah (swt) will dress you in the Upper World and the lower world. Allah (swt) will dress you with a majestic dress if you say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.”
It is said that whoever says, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” befor every du`a, his du`a is accepted. Before you start your du`a, say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Yaa Rabbee. I’m calling You because I am incapable of doing anything. Awliyaullah have said when you say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem, yaa Rabbee, by Your Name. I cannot do it. I am not able to do it, that’s why I’m calling on You. I am saying by Your Name, O my Lord. Yaa Allah (swt).Yaa Rahman. Yaa Rahim. By Your Name.” Whenever you start anything by Him, Allah (swt) will make that thing continue and finish with good, otherwise it’s going to be cut off.
Every du`a you make, you say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Every important thing that you are seeking, you say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Not only that, I read that Sayyidina Muhiyyidin ibn Arabi (q) said and I heard that from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), my grandfather, if you join “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem” with Surah Al-Fatiha and you read it in one breath, Allah (swt) will forgive all your sins. Allah (swt) will accept all of your hasanaat and Allah (swt) will forgive all your sayyi’at. All of your good deeds will be accepted and all of your bad deeds will be forgiven. Allah (swt) will not burn your tongue in Fire. Allah (swt) will protect you from `adhabu ‘l-qabr, the punishment of the grave. Allah (swt) will punish you from `adhabu ‘l-Yawmu ‘l-Qiyamah, the punishment on Judgment Day. Allah (swt) will protect you from `adhabu ‘l-Naar, the punishment of Fire and He will make you join with Awliya and Anbiya in His Divine Presence.
Sayyidina Muhiyyidin ibn Arabi (q) said Rasoolullah (s) narrated this. So many people don’t accept Sayyidina Muhiyyidin Ibn Arabi (q) but that’s up to them, whatever they want. Allah (swt) has said, Fa man sha’a fa ‘l-yu’min wa man sha’a.
Say, "The truth is from your Lord": Let him who will believe, and let him who will, reject (it): for the wrong-doers We have prepared a Fire whose (smoke and flames), like the walls and roof of a tent, will hem them in: if they implore relief they will be granted water like melted brass, that will scald their faces, how dreadful the drink! How uncomfortable a couch to recline on! (Surat al-Kahf, 18:29)
Whoever wishes, accepts what is being said, reveal from Truth and whoever wishes can reject what’s being revealed. Everybody is free. In Islam, you are free. This country should learn from Islam. They talk about freedom. Islam set you free from the beginning. Fifteen hundred years ago, Islam said, “O human being. You are free. Do as you like but know that if you do good, you will see it. If you do bad, you will see it. You’re free.” They don’t force you to do anything. They don’t force you not to do anything. You’re free. You can do whatever you want but know that Allah (swt) has promised:
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ
Fa man ya`mal mithqaal dharratin khayran yarah.
Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it! (Surat az-Zalzalah, 99:7)
If you do an atom’s weight of goodness, you will see it. If you do an atom’s weight of badness, you will see it. Look at how Islam is lenient and tolerant. He tells you the consequences. You might see the badness in this world or you might see it in the other world. You might see the goodness in this world and you might see it in the other world. That was Sayyidina Muhyiddin ibn Arabi (q). We believe in him and we believe that he is a true one.
I heard from my teacher, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, that when he was a seeker, still a mureed, was still trying to find his way to Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar (...) Awliyaullah drank from Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar. How are you going to purify yourself? You take wudu from Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar and you drink. You clean yourself internally. That is the barakah of Rasoolullah (s). You become tahir. When you are pure, you will become a guide.
Is the guy down in Berkeley pure? What’s in his heart? Do you know? You can see the signs from who he talks to and what is said about him. An impure one cannot be a guide. When you drink from the Pond of Rasoolullah (s), you become tahir. When you are pure, you become a guide. Ta-Ha. Have you ever heard of Ta-Ha? What is Ta-Ha? Allah (swt) knows these beginning letters but Rasoolullah (s) knows the meanings of these letters, otherwise it’s nonsense. Allah (swt) does not talk nonsense. Does not just throw letters in there and nobody knows what it is. Of course, Rasoolullah (s) knows what these mean but these are the secrets of the Qur’an.
To become a guide, you have to be pure. To be pure, you have to drink from Hawdu ‘l-Kawthar. You have to drink from the four rivers of, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” These will not come to you in books. These will come to you with the company of Awliyaullah. Did we accompany Awliyaullah? No. For 46 years I did not accompany Awliyaullah, until they called me against my will. They said, “Enough. You’re a patient yourself. Why are you looking at other patients? Get yourself purified. Get yourself treated first. Get out.”
So many of us have neglected finding Waliyullah, finding a pir, a true one, not a dirty one that has other intentions in their hearts. You can see the intentions in their hearts. They don’t have to tell you. You can see it by their actions, by their words, and by what they’re trying to do. What is sincerity? No riyaa. No showoff. You have no other goal. When you say, “I’m teaching `ilm,” why are you teaching `ilm? If you say, “For Allah (swt),” okay, you are teaching `ilm for Allah (swt). Why are you charging money, tuition? Do Awliyaullah charge tuition? Did Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) charge tuition to come to his dergah? Does Mawlana Shaykh Hisham charge tuition to come to his dergah? “If you want to come to my lesson, you have to pay $15.” PayPal. Venmo.
Here they have online courses. If you want to participate, you have to pay $30 a lesson or $30 a month. Why? Allah (swt) knows best. We don’t want to say but these are pointers for the ones who are truly seeking Allah’s (swt) Pleasure. We have to know that, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” is the way. “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” is in the hand of Rasoolullah (s). It came for him. It is the crown of every surah. Every chapter in the Qur’an is crowned by, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” except for Surah Bara’ah. How does Surah Bara’ah begin? With baa, because the beginning tells you the name. There is no “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” at the top. You say, “A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bara’atu min Allah.” That is in Surah Tawbah.
It starts with baa. That is the first letter of, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” It is said that the, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” of Surah Tawbah was moved to Surah Naml.
Innahu min Sulayman wa innahu Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. It is from Sulayman and it is “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said, “Who is Sulayman? Is there only one Sulayman? Are Allah (swt)’s Words only for a period of time or are Allah (swt)’s Words from Azal to Abad?” What is your belief? Azal to Abad. Kalamullahi ‘l-Qadim.
It is a Sifah, an Attribute of Allah (swt). The Attribute of Allah (swt) has no beginning and no end. It’s pre-beginning and post-end, if you want to put that.
Kalamullah continues. When He says, “Innahu min Sulayman. It is from Sulayman.” Who is Sulayman? Every century, every time there is a Sulayman and that Sulayman will give you, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” He will send a letter to your ego, to your nafs. That is the Qutb of the Time. The Qutb of the Time represents Sulayman (a) and his letter to Queen Bilqis. The Qutb of the Time will spiritually send you that letter that, “It is from me. It is from the Qutb of the Time.” It is, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.”
An laa ta`aloo `alayya. Don’t inflate yourself. Wa aatoonee Muslimeen, “And come to Me as humbled down Muslim, submissive one.”
أَلَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَىَّ وَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِينَ
"'Be not arrogant against me, but come to me in submission (to the true Religion).'" (Surat an-Naml, 27:31)
The Qutb will send a letter to the seeker that, “It’s time for you to come to me.” By whom? By the hudhud, the bird. What does the hoopoe bird find? It’s famous for finding water. You can research. He knows where the water is. That is why he was flying with Sulayman (a). Whenever they needed water, he was the one. They have the metal and it goes down. It’s the same. Hudhud finds the water. That is the spiritual meaning. It is your fikr, tafakkur, contemplating. When a human being starts to contemplate, he will find some life. Water is life. Knowledge.
When you started contemplating 30 years ago, eventually you found the Qutb of the Time. It starts with that bird. That bird is looking for water. That is `ilm. `Ilm is the Qur’an. With that contemplation, you are trying to find `ilm about your Lord. Hudhud. With that taffakur the Qutb of the Time sends to the mureed, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Your way to me is, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” The way to Nabiullah Sulayman (a) is through, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Humble yourself down. Ala ta’lu `alayya.
Why do you elevate yourself? Why do you claim you are so high? That is Qur’anu ‘l-Kareem in Surah Naml. That is from the Surah Tawbah that, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” the chapter of repentance. Repent as Adam (a) repented. It starts with repentance.
Qutbu ‘z-Zaman will find you when you start contemplating and meditating to find the Lord of Heavens, Allah (swt). “I want You, yaa Rabbee.” If you want Him, it starts with, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” “Break down your kibr. Break down your pride. Break down your arrogance and come to Me submission. Wa tu’li muslimeen. Come to Me, surrendering.” Surrendering to what? Surrender yourself to the Orders of Allah (swt) and to the prohibitions of Allah (swt). That’s your step. If you do that, it is `uboodiyya, servanthood.
Servanthood is when you follow the Orders of Allah (swt) and do them and leave the prohibitions that Allah (swt) has prohibited. Now you are a servant of Allah (swt). Otherwise you are a servant of your ego. You are a servant of this dunya. You are a servant of Shaytan.
Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. It is said that when Adam (a) came down from Heavens to earth he was told to say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” He came down on earth with, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” and he said, “Yaa Rabbee. I am happy now. I know whoever grabs onto “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,” will find his way to You.” That is the simplest way to find Allah (swt), through His Holy Names. Start with that. Start your du`a with that, your Fatiha with that and your dhikr with, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” That is why the the Turks say too many times, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” They make dhikr of, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” They say:
Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Do that everyday. Sit down when your spouse is not around and your children are not around and nobody is around. Sit down by yourself and say it. In the middle of the night, at 12 o’clock, say, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem” and something will open to you. Maybe jinn, maybe angels, maybe something different. You will come from `aynu ‘l-yaqeen. You will see. Now you heard but there is seeing, `aynu ‘l-yaqeen and there is Haqqu ‘l-yaqeen.
May Allah (swt) forgive s. There are too many things to digest. The simplest thing is to know, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” That is what Sayyidina Adam (a) took when he came down from Heavens. That is the way to Allah (swt) through, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.”

Iqraa bismi Rabbika ‘l-ladhee khalaq.
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of your Lord and Cherisher, Who created. (Surat al-`Alaq, 96:1)
Iqra bismi Rabbika. Read by the Name of Your Lord. That means, “Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Don’t run after diplomas. Don’t run after being recognized or known. That’s not important. If Allah (swt) wants you to be recognized, you will be recognized. Rasoolullah (s) was brought up in the desert. Nobody knew who was in that desert, no Roman, no Persian, no Abyssinian. It was the desert, nobody even went there. He was also not the son of a king or the son of a leader. He was yateem, an orphan in the middle of a desert. Did Allah (swt) want him to be known or not? He did. What happened? His name is mentioned five times a day all over the world. Whether you like it or not, his name is high.
Sayyida Maryam (a) did not want to be known. She said, ya kuntu nasiya man siya, “I wanted to be forgotten,” but no. Allah (swt) said:
وَإِذْ قَالَتِ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصْطَفَىٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Wa idha qaalati ‘l-malaa’ikatu yaa Maryamu inna ’Llaha ‘stafaki wa taharaki wa ‘stafaki `alaa nisaa’i ‘l-`alameen.
Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath chosen you and purified you - chosen youabove the women of all nations. (Surat Aali-`Imran, 3:42)
Allah (swt) has chosen you but purified you. There is tahara there. Then He chose you from the women of the world. That means you are the woman to be known. By whom? By your son. He made her a miracle. By her son she became known all over creation.
If Allah (swt) wants you to be known, you will be known. Don’t seek fame for yourself. That is not the way. If you seek fame for yourself, Allah (swt) will not accept it because you are working for yourself. You are working for your nafs.
May Allah (swt) forgive us. Don’t go after diplomas, but study. Get your books, get your online courses and study, but not for show. It’s for purely finding the way to Rasoolullah (s)’s Pond. Inshaa-Allah, all of us will go there.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
Sorry I cannot go for two hours like other Pakistani scholars. Please excuse me, but I think this is enough.
