The Wird of the Mureed, Ahmad

Sultan al-Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani

27 November 2011 Lefke, Cyprus

(Translated from Turkish)

Recite:

Bismillah shareef

40 times Salaat al-Munajiyya

100 times Hasbun Allah wa ni`ma ‘l-wakeel

10 times Laa hawla wa laa quwatta illa billahi 'l-`Aliyyu 'l-`Azheem

100 times yaa Wadood

You may continue with these, so don't stay idle. This is the basic wird: 100 times Laa ilaaha illa-Llah; 100 times Hasbun Allah wa ni`ma ‘l-wakeel; 100 times Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah! When they are free they may recite these. Whoever has time and knows how to read Holy Qur’an may recite it. If there are people here asking to learn to recite Qur’an, you may teach them for an hour daily. (...)

(Mawlana Shaykh narrates a story.)

“Recite 1,000 tawheed, Ahmad!” Then Ahmad runs through the whole tasbeeh without counting individual beads, again looked from the door and said, “I have finished, O Master.”

“Have you finished the 1,000?”

“Yes, I have.”

“Now read 2,000 and come back!”

He said, “Okay,” and left. (Mawlana runs his fingers across his tasbeeh without stopping at individual beads.) To recite, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Laa ilaaha illa-Llah” didn't even take Ahmad five minutes and he came back. May Allah make his abode Paradise. Again, he came to the door to listen and talk to Grandshaykh, saying, “O Master, I have finished.”

“Have you finished the 2,000?”

He said, "I have finished 2,000 and more!"

Grandshaykh (q) told him, “Okay Ahmad, I have more things to write. Complete 5,000 and then come,” to keep him away for a while.

Ahmad went away and returned in less than five minutes, saying, “I have finished, O Master.”

“How many?”

“It has been 2,500 up to 3,000 ‘Allah, Allah.’”

“Complete it to 5,000 and come back. I have some writing to do now.”

“Okay, O Master, as you order.” Ahmad left and said his tasbeeh up to 50,000 until Grandshaykh finished writing his letter, then again came back to his door.

Grandshaykh (q) said, “I wanted to have a look at how he does that. He went from the first bead all the way to last bead at one go, without counting individually, reciting, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Laa ilaaha illa-Llah....” He continued like that and returned to Grandshaykh (q), who said, “Ahmad's wird is like this.” May Allah make their abodes Paradise!

May Allah make us be with good servants in dunya and under the flag of the Prophet (s) in akhirah, in Jannatu ’l-Firdaus or in whichever Paradise Allah Dhu ‘l-Jalaali wal-Kamaal puts us! If we can step into one of them, there will be no need to ask, “Which Paradise is it?” because when He says, “Put him in Paradise,” the matter is finished! Are we like those who prefer their comfort to be first class, second class...? We don't distinguish and He may put us wherever He wants; even if He puts us on the doorstep, it is still fine. May Allah treat us with His mercy and endless grants. If He treats us with His justice, no one will be saved, but for the honor of our Prophet (s), He Almighty may let all of us in, ordering, “You may enter through the door of Paradise!” Even if millions, billions, trillions, quadrillions of people await near the doors, hoping for the mercy of Allah Almighty, the doors will open and they will all enter! Even if we are from the ones who enter last, how good is it? How great is He, Huwa al-`Aliyyu ‘l-`Alaa!

May Allah Almighty not make us fall into Hell! People cannot tolerate even the simplest disease in the dunya. I am thinking, how is the situation of the previous nations? How did the torment reach them? It is not easy to stay in pain and torment, but what can we do? Amaan yaa Rabbee, amaan yaa Rabbee, grant us safety, O my Lord! We cannot tolerate even the lightest pain and it is an extremely intense pain that is very hard to stay in constantly.

Amaan yaa Rabb, tawbah yaa Rabbee, yaa Arhamaa ‘r-Rahimeen. O our Lord! You know, You know, You are Arhamaa ‘r-Rahimeen, Most Merciful of the Merciful! (du`a)

Fatihah.

Shukr yaa Rabbee.
