As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh!
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem was-salaatu was-salaamu `alaa ashrafa 'l-Mursaleen, Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.
Amaa ba`ad, pure greetings from our heart to you, with our love to you and our love to our Shaykh, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani, and our love to the Prophet (s) with the recitation of qasidas in praise of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!
It is an honor for me and for everyone to see this group of people, which is a drop from the ocean of Naqshbandi people in Indonesia. This is a sample, a small group that represents the entire Indonesian Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order. Thanks to Allah, Who made us Muslims or else we would not be Muslim! Muslims always say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah!” Say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah! Allahumma salli wa sallim `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad hatta yarda Sayyidina Muhammad!”
On the Day of Judgment, Allah (swt) will judge someone and He will order all his `amal to be presented in front of Him. Allah then orders the angels to open all his sijjilaat, records, of which there are ninety-nine, and each record extends from east to west, and they are full of everything he did in every moment. For example, I am sitting here and call, “Rizal!” This action is not written, “Hisham called on Rizal,” but the angels record it like a camera, so when the records are opened every moment is shown and everything appears the same as when it was live. If you want to show these pictures, you wouldn't show something in writing as the camera will show you the same moment in which you sat or moved, with these fans moving also. It will show you just as it was live in this dunya, every moment from the first day you were born and you came from your mother's womb. These records exist in a live way, like a recording.
How long are you going to live, 70 years, 80 years? The most might be 100 years and each year is 365 days, which means 36,500 days in your life. And you are responsible for everything, including how many times you spoke with a girl, if you are a man, or how many times a girl spoke with you. It is all recorded: how many times you missed a prayer, how many times you missed fasting, how much time you spent for dunya and how much time you spent for Akhirah. You will find it all there! Do you see how this small fan is turning? Your movie camera also turns for you in every moment, by the Order of Allah (swt) to the angels. Everything is recorded, just as this fan is turning. Allah will order the angels to put all your bad `amal on the Scale and it will become very heavy, then He will order them to put your good `amal on the other side and you will see your good `amal cannot compare to the bad, the bad is heavier, so y'Allah, you are sent to the Hellfire! There is no safety, you are finished and they are taking you. They won't leave you in muhaasabah, accounting, because the Judge, Allah (swt), has ordered you to Hellfire.
At that moment, Allah (swt) will make you say, “Yaa Rabbee! Yes, I did this, but I do not find here something I used to say in dunya!” At that moment there will come, not a paper, but a heavenly noor on the side of your good `amal, upon which is written, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah.” With that appearance all the bad `amal will be thrown away and nothing will remain except, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah.”
That is why the Prophet (s) said:
من قال لا اله الا الله دخل الجنة
Man qaala laa ilaaha illa-Llah dakhal al-Jannah.
Whoever says ‘laa ilaaha illa-Llah’ enters Paradise.
So if you say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah” once, it is enough to go to Paradise. Say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah! Yaa Rabbee, `alayhaa nahyaa wa `alayhaa namoot wa `alayhaa nalq'Allah, upon it [Kalimat ash-Shahada] we were given life and upon it we die and upon we will be meet Allah!”
Allah's Rahmat, Mercy, cannot be described! The Prophet (s) said there are four words, that if you say them you enter Paradise. Allah (swt) loves them because they are from the Holy Qur'an and Allah loves the one who recites them because they are His Words. These four words are, “SubhaanAllah, w 'alhamdulillah, wa laa ilaaha illa-Llah, w’Allahu Akbar.” Recite it now!
On the Day of Judgment Allah (swt) will call you for judgment and He will put on one side of the Scale the word “subhaanAllah,” and it will cover the whole Scale to the point that there will be nothing you can place on the Balance. “SubhaanAllah” is enough to throw away all your sins and make you clean. Then you say, “Alhamdulillah,” and it will fill the heavens and earth. So what will happen then? You will go to Paradise! “SubhaanAllah” fills the Scale and “alhamdulillah” covers the heavens and the earth, so where is “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah.” Earth cannot contain “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah;” everything in creation disappears in it. So say it! All secrets that Allah (swt) created will enter it and all the Divine Attributes are in it, and that is why He likes you to say it. He says nothing can contain “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah” because it comes from Noorullah, and Noor an-Nabi comes from Noorullah; that is why you follow the Noor. Prophet’s Light is from Allah’s Light, so the Noor follows the Noor as it cannot be separated, and it will follow to its origin. Allah (swt) is the Creator and Muhammad (s) is His Servant; but the light goes back to its origin, as `abd to Allah, which means the light goes back to the Noor an-Nabi min noori’l-Haqq and Sayyidina Muhammad’s (s) Light goes back to the Ocean of Noor, not sharing anything with Allah (swt), haasha, as Allah is The Creator.
اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
Allaahu nooru 's-samaawaati wa 'l-ard.
Allah is the Light of the Heavens and Earth. (Surat an-Noor, 24:35)
Allah (swt) has endless Beautiful Names and Attributes belonging to Him, all gushing like a fountain. In every moment, Allah (swt) reveals new Beautiful Names and Attributes that we cannot know or understand; we only know the Names explained to us by the Prophet (s), the Sahaabah (r) and the Imams, and after that we don’t know. That is why Allah “laa shareek lah,” Allah has no partner!
First He created the Light of Muhammad (s) and it is from that one moment that He created everything! That Light comes from one Name, and everything is created from that Light. The opposite of light is darkness, but Allah (swt) does not create darkness, only Light. It is in our `amal that makes darkness. Our `amal is a switch that switches our `amal from light to dark, and we are constantly turning this switch away from light. That is what Shaytan wants because he is created from fire and fire makes everything black.
Allah (swt) created the Light of Muhammad (s) from His Light and dressed him with His Beautiful Names and Attributes. Dressed is something and being called from the Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes is something else. You cannot say that Muhammad (s) is “al-Khaaliq,” or “ar-Rahmaan,” “as-Salaam” or “al-Qudoos,” because these Beautiful Names and Attributes are only for Allah (swt). But Allah manifests these Names on him, in every moment these Beautiful Names and Attributes are increasing with knowledge and understanding, and as they increase Allah is continuously dressing His Prophet (s) from them.
This advice is for me and for you. This naseeha is not for you to understand because it is above the capacity of the mind, but it is intended that you be dressed with these secrets even though you don’t understand them and we don’t understand; however, the awliyaullah and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) want us to be dressed with these secrets so that on the Day of Judgment we will appear with these beautiful rainbows of dressings that come from Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes!
In the light you can see, but without light you can’t see. Awliyaullah’s eyes are light, so they can see, and everything has been created with light according to its level. Today they have dimmer switches that make lighting dim or strong, and it is like this for a wali; according to his level, he will either have a dim light or a light more powerful so you can see very well.
Some scholars are awliya who can see very well and have knowledge given to them by Allah. They say when Allah (swt) created the Light of Prophet (s), He created that Light not from His Essence, Dhaatullah, but from His Name “an-Noor.” That Light was in that Essence, and it is what we know from the word “an-Noor,” which is not a word, but rather the secret of Prophet (s) and creation. It appeared to Prophet (s) as a word or essence, and then all the other Beautiful Names and Attributes appeared one after the other, with no beginning and no end. With the Light that Allah (swt) gave him, Prophet (s) was able to see the secrets of all these Beautiful Names and Attributes that appeared endlessly, and he dressed his ummah with them. He saw the lights of the awliya and scholars and gave to them according to their capacities. A wali was given so he could guide and help people to see these secrets, while a normal person was given less because their capacity would be less.
He dressed them with “laa ilaaha illa-Llah” and gave according to the dhikr of those four words, “SubhaanAllah, alhamdulillah, laa ilaaha illa-Llah, Allahu Akbar.” On the Day of Judgment, they will be dressed like a light on a dark night with a rainbow of Beautiful Names of Allah (swt)! They will be known as the lovers and followers of Prophet (s) and Allah (swt) will know them when He sees them.
Pay attention here! Everything is coming to an end, everything will disappear! These people here will one day be gone, vanished! The whole earth will disappear, and when Allah (swt) orders Sayyidina Israfil (a) to blow the Trumpet, all living species including human beings will die. Do you think you will be left? Everything will go, so what will exist after that? If everything ceases to exist, what will remain? Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur’an, when He orders Sayyidina Israfil (a) to blow the horn:
يَوْمَ هُم بَارِزُونَ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَيْءٌ لِّمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ لِلَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ
Yawma hum baarizoona laa yakhfa `alaa ‘l-lahi minhum shayun limani ‘l-mulku ‘l-yawma lillahi ‘l-waahidi ‘l-qahhaar.
The Day whereon they will (all) come forth: not a single thing concerning them is hidden from Allah. Whose will be the dominion that Day? That of Allah, the One, the Irresistible!
(Surah Ghaafir, 40:15)
“To Whom does the Kingdom belong today?” Lillaahi ‘l-waahidi ‘l-qahhaar, “To the One Who is The Destroyer!” He is destroying what belongs to Him: human beings, creation, the universe will all be destroyed and “al-Qahhaar,” The Destroyer, will change them! But His Noor is there, His Light is with Him, and who is from His Noor? Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! Those with minds can understand, and he who knows will be dressed with this Light. Those with no minds, no problem, they will be dressed without understanding. Allah's Beautiful Names and Attributes will be there. He will create more and His Noor, nooru ‘s-samawaat, will be there. So His Beautiful Names and Attributes always exist, they are not destroyed.
And Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is from His Noor! So say, “laa ilaaha illa-Llah.” All servants understand this and it is always there; it always exists and even if creation changes it is still there.
When Allah (swt) asked Sayyidina Muhammad (s), “What do you call Me?” he said, “al-Qahhaar.” Allah (swt) said, “Why do you mention that I am al-Qahhaar?”
Prophet (s) said, “Because you destroy everything: all enemies and the armies of unbelief, and You will destroy all the sins of human beings! Nothing can stand in front of Your Name, al-Qahhaar. That is why I called you ‘al-Qahhaar,’ yaa Rabbee.”
Allah (swt) makes His Servants understand “laa ilaaha illa-Llah” and “Muhammadun Rasoolullah (s)!” So the greatness of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) will not appear in dunya, but it will appear when Allah destroys everything! That is why Allah created “laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah!”
I will end with this: Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah. Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah. No place can contain it and no time can encompass it! Laa ilaaha illa-Llah encompasses all time and places, and it contains all praises. This suhbah is for those who can understand and it is also to dress everyone with that knowledge, although they did not understand it, like me. And it is guidance for everyone, because it is our last night here and it is a gift from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) to everyone!
I want to say thank you to Pa Tony and Mr. Malik Tarigan here, and everyone that helped, without naming names, but there are many of you here. He opens his house every time to host me, my family and those coming with us, and he is hosting everyone. This is done with the help of everyone, including the youth such as Rizal, `Abdur Rauf and many others. I want to say that Allah (swt) never puts down a generous person and it is not easy to host, but it is easy to come and eat!
I set up many conferences in America and they take one year of work, eighteen hours a day. At one conference there was not one speaker, like here, but 150 speakers! I know how difficult it is to organize the time: who goes where, what time we go here, who drives, who goes in what car, etc. It is not easy and everything here has been detailed; they took care of every logistic and mashaa-Allah, it is very hard. They dropped their own work for this, in order for all of us to be here! That is why we have to say shukran to Malika and Ahmad Din and their families and everyone that helped. I don’t know their names, but their faces. (To translator) You also helped with translating and eating! We thank you very much and we thank the qasida group that we will see later, inshaa-Allah.
Now everyone, raise your hands and say baya` to Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q).
(Baya`)
Fatihah.
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh!
