City Park, Purbalingga

( Translated from Arabic)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`alaa fee haadha 'l-masjid.

Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi ta`ala wa barakaatuh.

Pray upon Prophet (s)! O Allah, pray upon Prophet (s)! O honorable gathering, lovers of al-Mustafa (s) and lovers of Habib Shaykh. We are honored today and this night to be with you through the blessings of our Beloved Rasoolullah (s), and the blessings of scholars, shaykhs, and leaders in this country.

Prayers and peace be upon you, O our Master, Prophet of Allah, Light of Lights, Secret of Secrets, Beloved of Allah and of all creation (s)! May Allah (swt) honor you on our behalf and reward you the best reward, and raise your status, O our Master, Rasoolullah (s), so there will be no one raised but you, yaa Rasoolullah (s), yaa Rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen!

O lovers of Prophet (s)! You have won and we have won with you, and with your barakah, as Prophet (s) said in a hadith:

يد الله مع الجماعه

Yadullaaha ma`al-jama`ah.

The Hand of Allah is with the congregation. (Tirmidhi)

You are the group, the jama`ah! You are under the Hand of Allah (swt) and inshaa-Allah you will be happy here and Hereafter. Allah (swt) has honored His Prophet (s) that whomever remembers Prophet (s) will be present in front of him. Therefore, we are saying, “Yaa Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! We are with you! Do not leave us, O our beloved Prophet (s)! Come and save us!”

Why did the Prophet (s) say:

البخيل من ذكرت عنده و لم يصلى على

Al-bakheel min dhakarta `indah wa lam yussalliya `alay.

The miser is the one whom when I am mentioned to him, does not pray upon me. (Tirmidhi)

The one who does not pray upon Prophet (s) is the miser and Prophet (s) is encouraging us to pray upon him so that he may honor us by bringing us to his Presence. Therefore, the hadith came to encourage us not to be misers, as Prophet (s) is looking upon us when we pray upon him. Prophet (s) said his Sahaabah (r) were always in association with him, and to be a friend to someone you have to be always with him. The Companions of Prophet (s) were always with him, day and night. However, seeing Prophet (s) is not restricted to only a few people, but it is possible for all those who pray upon him. You are lovers of Prophet (s), and therefore, you have priority in seeing him. Prophet (s) is with us now in this association with the blessings of our prayers upon him!

I will mention a famous story. When Sayyidina Musa (a) knew of the importance of the `ulama and honored awliyaa of the nation of Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s), he asked Allah (swt) to show him one of them and Prophet (s) ordered Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (q) to be spiritually present there.

Musa (a) said, “What is your name?”

Imam Ghazali answered, “Hamed bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad,” seven times. Musa (a) asked, “How is it that you are a scholar or a wali, as when I asked for your name, you told me ‘Abu Hamid bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad,’ 7 times? Why did you waste time? You could have just said ‘Abu Hamid bin Muhammad al-Ghazali.’ I thought you were a scholar, but now I think you are not.”

Imam Ghazali said, “O Master Musa (a), Prophet of Allah (swt), peace be upon you! Why would I not say ‘Abu Hamid bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad, bin Muhammad’ seven times? It is a name that gives me honor and light and raises my station in the Presence of Sayyidina Muhammad al-Mustafa (s)! And when Allah (swt) asked you, ‘What is that in your right hand Musa,’ you told Allah that it is your staff. Why did you prolong the explanation of the uses of your staff and didn’t just say that it is your staff and kept it short, as a long explanation was not asked of you? Instead you said, ‘This is my staff,’ and explained all its uses!”

Wa maa tilka bi-yameenika yaa Musa. Qaala hiya `asaaya atawakka’ `alayhaa wa ahushshu bihaa `alaa ghanamee wa liya feehaa ma’aaribu ukhraa.

And what is that in the right hand, O Moses? He answered: ‘It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it.’ (Surah TaHa, 20:17-18)

Musa (a) said, “O Imam! I mentioned to Allah all the uses of my staff to be honored to speak with Allah (swt) and to be in His Presence for a long time.”

Imam Ghazali (q) answered, “O my Master Musa (a), I also said ‘bin Muhammad’ seven times to prolong the honor of being in your presence and seeing you!”

Sayyidina Musa (a) said, “O Allah, I repent! This is really one of the scholars of the ummah of Islam, the ummah of Prophet Muhammad al-Mustafa (s)!”

O lovers of Prophet (s)! Blessings to all of you and to your leader, Habeeb Shaykh, and to all haba’ib in this country! You are the ones remembering and praying upon Prophet (s). You are blessed and honored to be with Prophet (s), to be in his Light and his Beauty. Prophet (s) is with you in every moment, as Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur'an:

وإعلموا أن فيكم رسول الله

W `alamoo anna feekum rasoolullaah.

And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)

The Light of Prophet (s) is in us and observing us and in our hearts and your hearts, with the blessings of associations in prayers upon Prophet (s)! Allah (swt) did not give this high honor tanyone else; He gave this privilege as an honor only to His Beloved, the Chosen One, Prophet (s) and his nation, as Prophet (s) said:

من صلى علي مرة صلى الله عليه بها عشرا

Whoever prays upon me once, Allah will pray upon him ten times.

Allah (swt) did not say this concerning Sayyidina Musa (a), Sayyidina `Isaa (a), Sayyidina Haaroon (a), Sayyidina Daawood (a), Sayyidina Ibraaheem (a), Sayyidina Nooh (a), or Sayyidina Adam (a). Allah (swt) gave this privilege to the ummah of Beloved Prophet Muhammad (s), so pray upon Prophet (s) and for every prayer take back ten prayers from Allah! Pray upon Prophet (s) one hundred times and you will get back one thousand. Pray upon Prophet (s) one thousand times a day and you will get back one hundred thousand prayers from Allah (swt). Pray ten thousand prayers and so on, it is non-stop! The Companions of Prophet (s) prayed upon him every moment so that he will be present with them continuously. Prophet (s) is present with you in every moment, through the blessings of these gatherings which have been initiated by Habeeb Shaykh and all habaa’ib and Qaseedah groups. May Allah (swt) make for you a step of goodness and blessings here and Hereafter, and unite us with our Beloved Prophet (s)!

I will end with the honored verse, “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.” Allah (swt) has honored Prophet (s) with this verse in three places where the letter meem is mentioned: Bismi, Ar-Rahman, and Raheem. The first is the meem of Muhammad (s) in Sayyidina Ahmad, where Allah swt said, on the tongue of Sayyidina `Isaa:

وَمُبَشِّرًا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِي مِن بَعْدِي اسْمُهُ أَحْمَدُ

wa mubashshiran bi-rasoolin yatee min ba`dee ismuhu ahmad...

“...and giving Glad Tidings of an Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." (Surat as-Saff, 61:6)

The second meem is the name of Mercy in the name of Muhammad (s), as Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur`an:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

Wa maa arsalnaaka illa rahmatan li 'l-`alameen.

(O Muhammad!) We have sent you not except as a Mercy for all the Worlds. (Surat al-Anbiya, 21:107)

With the second meem in the Allah’s Name, “Ar-Rahman,” The Most Merciful, has honored the Presence of Prophet (s). And with the third meem in “Raheem,” Allah (swt) gave honor from its Light to Prophet (s) when He said:

لَقَدْ جَاءكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُم بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Laqad jaa-akum rasoolun min anfusikum `azeezun `alayhi maa `anittum hareesun `alaykum bil-mu’mineena ra’oofun raheem.

Indeed, there has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. He grieves for your suffering and is anxious about you. To the believers he is most kind and merciful. (at-Tawbah, 9:128)

So behold, O masters, scholars, honorable and good people! The secrets of Holy Qur’an cannot be known or encompassed. This is evident from the dialogue of Archangel Jibreel (a) with Prophet (s) when he brought the Revelation of Surah Maryam and said, “O Prophet of Allah, Kaf.”

Prophet (s) interrupted Jibreel (a) and said, “ I knew it, `alimtu.”

When Jibreel (a) said, “Ha.”

Prophet (s) said, “`Alimtu.”

Then Jibreel (a) said, “Ya.”

Prophet (s) interrupted him and said, “`Alimtu.”

Jibreel (a) said, “`Ayn.”

Prophet (s) said, “`Alimtu.”

Then Jibreel (s) said, “Saad.”

Prophet (s) answered, “`Alimtu.”

What did Prophet (s) know? Remember this and think about it. Inshaa-Allah next time we will speak on this matter, as Habeeb Shaykh will now sing nasheeds until midnight. Allahu Akbar!

The glorification of Prophet (s) cannot be described. Allah (swt) glorified him in the Holy Qur'an and honored him with it, and honored us with Qur’an, which means Allah (swt) has honored us with Prophet (s) when He said:

لَوْ أَنزَلْنَا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى جَبَلٍ لَّرَأَيْتَهُ خَاشِعًا مُّتَصَدِّعًا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ وَتِلْكَ الْأَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Law anzalnaa haadhaa al-Qur’ana `alaa jabalin la-ra'aytahu khaashi`an mutasaddi`an min khashyatillah.

If We had caused this Qur'an to descend upon a mountain (O Muhammad), verily you would have seen it humbled, rent asunder by the fear of Allah! (Surat al-Hashr, 59:21)

The heart of our Beloved Prophet (s) was able to bear this Reality of the Revelation of Holy Quran and stood firm like a mountain, taking the secrets of Holy Qur`an and dressing them on the hearts of the ummah! O lovers of Prophet (s)! Continue to pray upon Prophet (s) non-stop every day and make your daily awraad prayers upon Prophet (s)! With this we ask Allah (swt) for forgiveness and its rewards. Astaghfirullah wa ‘s-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuh.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
