The Servants of Allah's Names and Words

Isha Suhbah at the International Cultural Center (ICC)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.

Every night there is something special and this night there was something special for which we must thank Allah (swt).

لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ

If you thank Me, I will give you more. (Surah Ibraaheem, 14:7)

Yaa Rabbee, for the sake of Prophet, shafa`at an-Nabi (s), change this meeting from an imitational meeting to a real meeting, because we have to know that we must not be proud of ourselves for doing dhikr when others are not. What you do is for yourself and for the people with you. Don't bother with the rest, Allah will send someone to them.

Every night there is something, every day there is something else. Allah (swt) gave us day and night, which is a miracle, is it not? It is night, then it becomes daytime. There is something there making this day and night: Allah (swt) with his ‘kun fa-yakun’ makes the Earth turn on its axis to make day and night. What kind of fuel makes this Earth turn non-stop for millions of years or, if we want to go according to physicists, millions of years? What is making the Earth turn on its axis? Who is that axis? We cannot see it, it is imaginary, but they say it turns on the axis. Who is the axis? Allah (swt) assigned angels to turn the Earth around its axis. The Sun must always be in one place, although the Earth shows as if it is going down and coming up, but in reality it is fixed. If it turned up and down that would cause disorder in the universe.

You don't know when Allah's mercy comes, that's why He gave us daytime with two prayers, Asr and Zhuhr, and He gave us nighttime with two prayers, Maghrib and `Isha, and Fajr is extra at the top. The five prayers are to make sure that if you connect with your prayer you might hit the target. He gave you five options, not one. He gave you an option at Fajr, that you might wake up and pray Fajr, then you get so much rewards, and that is a reminder that you get these rewards from Fajr time. When you pray Zhuhr you get another option; maybe at Fajr you missed the target, so He gave you Zhuhr. If you missed the target, then you have Asr. Missing the target doesn’t mean you leave the prayer, you prayed, but maybe your prayer was not accepted because it is a soup full of remembrance of dunya. Then He gave you Maghrib, bi ‘l-asaal, when you return home from work to remember to pray, and `Isha the same, and Fajr the same, five times.

Once I was reading Qur’an, and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) said at the beginning of every line, as soon as you recite any verse, as soon as you say, for example, “Alif. Laam. Meem.” is a verse, “dhaalika” or “kitaab” are words, or “a”, any word, anything in that verse will appear to you as a reward as if you read the entire verse. He said Allah's mercy is so big that no one can understand it. If you say "dhaalika", whatever secrets are in the word, as soon as you say "wa", He opens all that to you, but we don't see it because we are veiled, but Awliya can see it. That's why Mawlana used to say to those people who don’t know how to read Holy Qur’an in Arabic, open the Qur’an and place your finger under each letter and Allah will open for you whatever He opens for the one who reads it in Arabic. You will benefit even if you cannot read it, but still pass through it looking at each letter, because every letter emits Light that Allah put in it.

Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter, Meem is one letter; together they make a verse. Whatever secrets and Lights are in every letter, it is like the Dropbox computer application where information is stored.. Allah puts all the information and rewards in your spiritual Dropbox; it's not hidden, but you need the password, like in the cloud it is there and to access it you need the code but you are veiled. If you take the veils away you can read everything. For example, the one who has cataracts cannot see text, but when they remove the cataracts then he can read. If some people take something different, the eyes become blue. The original color of eyes is blue; the eye didn't change, but the way you look at it changed. If we were not veiled we would see the reality with which Allah created the world. He doesn't need the universe, but the universe needs Him as everything is dependent on The Creator.

When we were doing dhikr of ‘Allah, Allah’ at the end, two men appeared here at the door. I couldn't see their heads, but Awliya… I saw their hands on their hearts (chests). They are the servants of the Beautiful Names and Attributes (that we recited in the dhikr). We were dressed with that tajalli tonight, that's why everyone was overwhelmed with the dhikr. We have to look for these precious nights. At any moment Inaayatallah, Allah’s care, may come. When anyone sits in an association of dhikr, angels come and Inaayatallah will come, and it is stronger than the power of angels because it is Allah's care toward you. When you remember Him, He remembers you:

أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي

[Allah said to the Prophet], I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsi. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)

When we are reciting dhikr, Inaayatallah is coming and if it coincides with what you are reading, at that moment Allah will open for you His treasures that He wrote for you on the Day of Promises! Whatever Allah (swt) has given to you, you will get it when you are focusing and contemplating about Allah's Creation, then He will open for you. People are doing muraaqabah (contemplation); the Sahaabah (r) did muraqabah, and Allah said about it in the Qur’an, “Those who make tafakkur.”

وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ

Contemplating the creation of the Heavens and the Earth. (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:191)

The problem is, today people make tafakkur and say they are connecting their hearts with Allah (swt) and Prophet (s), but Allah said to contemplate first on your level. You cannot come so high, it is against respect, so you make tafakkur on what is in the universe, not on Allah (swt). When you penetrate the universe to Qaaba Qawsayni Aw Adna, in that level you are able to make tafakkur about Ma'rifatullah, Knowledge of Allah, which is not something you play with.

He said in the ayah, “They make tafakkur on the creation of Heavens and Earth.” He didn’t say to make contemplation on Maʿrifatullah. Last week we spoke about the Seven Earths they found and we know there are Seven Heavens, and the week is comprised of seven days, and the Fatihah is seven verses. What is the secret of ‘seven’? Imam Mahdi (a) has seven ministers. What is the secret of seven, contemplate on that: that's why you read seven verses in the Fatihah. What is in them Allah knows, we don't know.

May Allah keep us to be straightforward as much as we can. Allah is requesting you, because He loves us and wants us to be saved, so He is giving all these du`as, istighfaar and knowledge in order to be in His Presence when you leave this dunya. Did we ask ourselves? We see people are dying and something comes out of their mouth, and then it stops and there is no more movement; you cannot see it, but you know it is there. Awliya can see it and they can see what time the soul is going to go out of the body. They make sure they are ready to clean their followers and present them to Prophet (s), and Prophet cleans his Ummah to present it to Allah (swt). May Allah make us from this group of Awliya that take us to the presence of Prophet (s)!

Books are full of knowledge for those who wrote the books and the tajalli that came when they wrote the book is different to what we are in, they were in one manifestation and we are in a different manifestation because Prophet (s) is always ascending and the Ummah is ascending with him. What He opens now for the Ummah, He didn't open before, he opened something else.

He made the Sahaabah (r) honorable people, no one can be like them, and He made the people in the Last Days lovers of Prophet (s).

“Matta alqaa ahbaabee? When will I meet my lovers?” They said, “Are we not your lovers?” and the Prophet (s) said, “No, you are my Companions. My lovers are those who believed in me and didn't see me, and I am so in love with them, I want to see them.”

So He gave us and all Muslims the rank of Ahbaab al-Nabi, the Lovers of Prophet (s), without us doing anything, without any action or ijtihad or progress from our side. We didn’t do anything, but when Allah gives, He gives! So Prophet (s) to the Sahaabah (r), “You are my friends,” and this is a separate high level, “and they are my lovers.” Without us doing anything, Prophet (s) made us his lovers and presents us to Allah as his lovers! What will happen to the lovers? Because they are loved by Prophet (s), Allah will love them. May Allah love us and keep us under the power of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! These two men, I remember them; they don't disappear. They are big ones, tall, you cannot see their heads. They were there. May Allah open our eyes and hearts. Bi hurmati ‘l-habeeb bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah. That is for this night. Inaayatallah is descending and we are here. It will not eliminate anyone. It will come on everyone; everyone is loved by Prophet (s) and those who came are lovers of Prophet (s). Inshaa-Allah, Allah will keep us like that.

Bi hurmati ‘l-habeeb bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah.
