The angels move through the alleys and narrow streets. When there are Majalis adh-Dhikr, the angels encompass them, sit with attendees, make dhikr with them. It (barakah of that majlis) is distributed to all places, not just to one place, and everyone gets benefit from them.
Inna lillaahi malaa’ikati yatufoona fi ’t-turuqaat aw yamurroona fi ’t-turuqaat...
They (angels) go about the streets, they move around in the streets.
It is like this telephone, roaming; they know where you are and they know everything. Or it is like a credit card (that tracks your purchases everywhere). With Allah's power, angels know wherever you are, even if you attend one majlis, because they follow you and know where you are and they come to you. That's why Allah sends angels roaming: they stop, make a record, make dhikr with those present, and that dhikr they make continues to the Day of Judgment.
Mashaa-Allah here in Indonesia in all the streets they hang big banners advertising “Majlis al-Nabi, Majlis adh-Dhikr.” You don’t see anything like it in any other country, where, if they were to advertise “Majlis Salawaat al-Nabi (s)” the authorities will say that is “bid`a, kufr, shirk.” You doing this shows that Allah (swt) has given you Indonesians imaan.
`An ibn `Abbas annahu qaala li-julasaa’ihi yawman: Ayyu’n-naasi a`ajabu imaanan, qaaloo al-malaa’ikah. Qaala: Wa kayfa la tu’min al-malaa’ikata wa ’l-amru fawqahum yarawnahu. Qaaloo: al-anbiyaa. Qaala wa kayfa laa yu’min al-anbiyaa wa ’l-amr yanzil `alayhim ghadwatan wa `ashiyya? Qaaloo: fa-nahnu? Qaala: wa kayfa laa tu’minoona wa antum tarawna maa tarawna min rasoolillah maa tarawn? Thumma qaala: Qaala Rasoolullahi: a`ajaba ’n-naasi imaanan qawmun yaatoona min ba`dee yuminoon bee wa lam yarawnee. Oolaa’ika ikhwaanee haqqan.
The Prophet (s) asked the Sahaabah (r), “Who has the strongest faith in their heart?” They answered, “The prophets!” Prophet (s) said, “How will they not have strong faith when revelation comes to them?” They said, “Then it is the angels!” Prophet (s) said, “How will they not have strong faith when they are in the Divine Presence?” They answered, “Us, your Sahaabah!” Prophet (s) said, “How will they not have strong faith when you also see me?” He (s) said, “The best of people will come at the End of Time, and they will not see me but they still believe in me. They are my brothers, truly.” (Sahih Bukhari)
They are the best of people with imaan, and they are you! That's why don't say, “We have no imaan.” Everyone is full of imaan and you have “XXX-Large” imaan! Everyone comes to Majalis adh-Dhikr, trying his best to (fulfill the sunnah of Prophet); this is best of imaan. But the XXX-Large of imaan is when you come to such gatherings as this and do dhikrullah and salawaat an-Nabi (s), and you are like that.
You have only one problem in this country: most habaa’ib and scholars who opened schools and orphanages are teaching Shari`ah, Qur’an and Hadith, but no one is teaching Tasawwuf, or bringing a curriculum based on the teachings of the big Sufis, or lessons about what they did and said. Not only here, but in other countries no one is speaking about Sayyidina Muhiyuddin ibn `Arabi (q) or Jalalddin ar-Rumi or Shah Naqshband (q) or other awliyaullah. Nothing, zero. That is what prevents you from advancing. Mashaa-Allah, you are teaching Shari`ah, but not Tasawwuf, such as the teachings of Imam al-Ghazali (r). Why they did not open his books and teach from beginning to end?
You see in Europe and America, Muslims read these books (of mystics) and teach Tasawwuf but not Shari`ah, and that is a big mistake.
Every majlis has a beginning and an end, and this coming to an end. Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur’an:
وَاعْتَصِمُواْ بِحَبْلِ اللّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلاَ تَفَرَّقُواْ
w `ataasimoo bi hablillaahi jamee`aan wa laa taffaraqoo.
And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves. (Aali-`Imraan, 3:103)
The rope of Allah is hubb al-Nabi, love of Prophet (s), so hold tight to the Rope of Allah (swt)!
Anyone in this majlis who is standing because there is not much space to sit has more angels on them and they are receiving a double reward!
Now we renew our baya` with our shuyukh, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani (q) and Grandshaykh `AbdAllah ad-Daghestani (q). Everyone raise his or her hand. (Baya`)
