Opening of Hajjah Amina Mosque
Jumu`ah Khutbah on `Ashura
O Believers, Mu’mins, Muslims! Prophet (s) said, “I have been sent to perfect and to complete the behavior of Muslims, mu’mins and all of humanity.”
???? ???? ????? ????? ???????
Innamaa bu`ithtu li utammimu makaarim al-akhlaaq.
I have been sent to perfect the best of conduct (your behavior and character). (Bazzaar)
“I have been sent to perfect the best manners and characters of every person.” And the best character of a Muslim is to say “As-salaamu `alaykum,” which is to bring your community (together) and to make relationships between people, as Prophet (s) said in a hadith:
?? ???? ?????? ????? ??????? ??????? ??????? ????? ?????? ?????? ????? ?????? ????? ?????
Afshoo 's-salaam wa 'ati`mu 't-ta`am wa salloo bi 'l-layl wa 'n-naasu niyaam tadkhulu 'l-jannata bi 's-salaam.
Spread (or say) the salaam, give food, and pray at night while people are asleep, then you will enter Paradise peacefully. (Tirmidhi)
“Afshoo 's-salaam,” to say “salamu `alaykum” increases love and respect between each other as Muslims. That is why it is said to be from good manners and good characters. Prophet (s) also said that when you make relationships with the brotherhood among you, then invite them to eat with you, give food to poor people, as that is how people begin to like you. That is how Islam was spread by awliyaullah and sincere `ulama; they gave food to each other. Afshoo 's-salaam wa 'ati`mu 't-ta`am wa salloo bi 'l-layl wa 'n-naasu niyaam, and make sajda when people are sleeping, make two raka`ats to Allah (swt), praise Him and make salawaat on Prophet (s).
There was one wali named Muhammad al-Talmaysani (q) from Tirmiz, a well-known city in Central Asia. He completed the entire Dalaa’il al-Khayraat 100,000 times in his life, after which he had the privilege to see Prophet (s) in a dream. We have previously explained this issue of people seeing Prophet (s) in dreams, such as when Imaam Bukhari (r) asked Prophet (s) in his dream which hadith to put in which chapter. So Prophet (s) said to that wali, “You have completed Dalaa’il al-Khayraat 100,000 times, but I will teach you one salawaat that by reciting it just once will be as if you read Dalaa’il al-Khayraat 800,000 times!”
Look at the greatness of Islam, in how Allah (swt) rewards people! That is why Prophet (s) said, Wa salloo bi 'l-layl wa 'n-naasu niyaam, meaning, “Wake up at night and make salawaat on Prophet (s), knock on Allah’s Door!” Prophet (s) told Muhammad al-Talmaysani (q) to recite this salawaat:
????? ?? ??? ????? ???? ?????? ??? ???? ? ?????? ??? ??? ???? ???? ????? ? ?????? ??? ????? ???????? ? ??? ??? ?? ???? ? ?????? ??????
Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin ‘il-faatihi limaa ughliqa wa 'l-khaatimi limaa sabaqa wa 'n-naasiri 'l-haqqi bi 'l-haqqi wa 'l-haadi ilaa siraatika 'l-mustaqeema sall 'Llahu `alayhi wa `alaa aalihi wa-ashaabihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdaarihi 'l-`azheem.
O Allah! Bless our Master Muhammad (s), who opened what was closed and who is the Seal of what went before, he who makes the Truth victorious by the Truth, the guide to Your Straight Path, and bless his household as is the due of his immense position and grandeur.
By reading this salawaat, it is as if you have completed Dalaa’il al-Khayraat 800,000 times! So mu’mins, wake up (in the night) and make a prayer and make a du`a. If you do that, what will happen? Afshoo 's-salaam wa 'ati`mu 't-ta`am wa salloo bi 'l-layl wa 'n-naasu niyaam tadkhulu 'l-jannata bi 's-salaam. Spread (or say) the salaam, give food, and pray at night while people are asleep, then you will enter Paradise peacefully. So also wake up when people are sleeping, then you will enter Jannah without questioning on the Day of Judgment! Give food to people, give salaam to each other and wake up at night.
==========
This new mosque was constructed by the order of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q). Prophet (s) said when every human being dies, his `amal is done, good or bad, it’s finished; however, he will still be rewarded if he gave sadaqa, as this becomes Sadaqa Jariya, a flowing, unending donation. Sadaqa Jariya is to give sadaqa to those who are in need, to those those who know where to put it, or to give a donation which makes people pray for you, all of which becomes a floating donation.
When you build a masjid or do something for the benefit of the community, its reward is never-ending. That is why we see today that by Mawlana’s order, this masjid was constructed and built by many people who helped, (inaudible from microphone echo) without whom this masjid could not have been built, which is why we should pray for him and his family. May they always continue constructing such buildings, as this will be a continuous donation in the way of Allah (swt), as Prophet (s) said, Sadaqa Jariya. Anyone who does this will continue to be rewarded in the grave.
Also, when the children of the deceased ask Allah to reward their parents, it will be given to the parents. Prophet (s) said, “When a child says ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem,’ Allah (swt) says, ‘How can I punish the father of the child who is saying ‘Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem?’” So the pious children they leave behind will recite Surat al-Fatihah or Surat al-YaSin and pray for them.
The third is to leave behind a message that will guide and benefit the whole ummah, to leave behind knowledge that is needed by every person on earth. So all three things are Sadaqa Jariya: to build a mosque or do something that benefits the entire community, to leave behind (in this world) a pious child, and knowledge that gives benefit, and all these are being contained by our shaykh, may Allah (swt) give him long life! At every moment he is giving donations, teachings, and his good children to those who are in need!
May Allah (swt) bless everyone who has put a hand in building this masjid and everyone who donated and who are continuously helping and donating to this masjid. May Allah bless the one who constructed this place.
(Du`a.)
May Allah bless Hajji Qadir and Hajji Ghulam, who have built a place where people can come and make sajda. May Allah also bless the caretaker of this masjid, Hajji Qasim.
Why does Shaykh Nazim have to put his hand in this? It is for the love of Allah (swt) and Prophet (s), and for love of the community.
(Du`a.)
