A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,
nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`alaa fee haadha 'l-masjid.
أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ
Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
Glory to Allah (swt) for His Abundant Graces and His Boundless Gifts in this world and in the Hereafter, Who guided and honored us and made us Muslims, Who created the Fairest, the Best, and the Most Perfect Human Being praised by all the worlds’ scholars and poets in every era! His (s) honor was bestowed on him by Allah; he is the Honorable One, the Chaste One, the Beloved, the Messenger, the First Created, and the Last Messenger sent to all worlds! He is the Light which can never be diminished! He is the Owner of Light and the Owner of the Word that never falls on the ground, the Intercessor for the Universes and the one whom Allah (swt) brought near His Divine Presence to give him honor and to tell him:
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
Wa rafa`na laka dhikrak.
And We raised up your remembrance. (Surat al-Inshiraah, 94:2)
“O Muhammad, truly We raised your remembrance! They will never reach you, no matter how much they defame you or speak bad about you! O Muhammad! It is I Who gave you that honor that I never gave to any other of My Creation, not angels, jinn, or human beings!”
Allah (swt) said:
كنت كنزا مخفياً فأحببت أن أعرف فخلقت الخلق
Kuntu kanzan makhfiyyan fa ahbabtuhu an u`rafa fa khalaqtu ‘l-khalq.
I was a Hidden Treasure (and) I wanted to be known, so I created Creation. (Hadith Qudsi)
Meaning, “No one knew Me! I was in the Absolute Unknown so I wanted to be known and make ‘Known’ My Reality to to My Beloved because He is the Master of the Human Beings! Without boasting, he is the created above whom there is no creature!”
Allah (swt) created him and informed him about the Reality of things: that He is the First One, the Last One, the Hidden One, the Apparent One, and that Muhammad (s), as a created being and as a servant, is the first one in the creation of his Light. He is the Apparent One whose Light is visible in all the universes, and he is the Hidden One whose Reality no one knows except Allah!
O Muslims! Do not be distressed of what the unbelievers do to harm Muslims with vile things. They make empty claims which have no meaning. In fact, they are the vile ones and the lost ones who are burning themselves in Hellfire! Praise Sayyidina Muhammad (s), as whoever invokes blessings on Prophet (a) will enter Paradise with him inshaa-Allah! Prophet (s) said he was taken up to every heaven. Did he casually pass by them or enter and exit without change? Rather, was he dressed with all the Lights of each heaven so that he reached Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa completely dressed with all the Lights of the heavens and paradises to stand by the nearness of Allah (swt) until, as Imam Nawawi (r) said, “He saw Allah (swt) with the eyes of his head,” having ascended with his body and not just his spirit!
So he saw his Lord and whoever sees his Lord, Allah will grant him to enter realms of knowledge that all Knowers can neither approach or fathom! Even if you put all the knowledge of all believers and all Prophets, it will not be a drop in the Ocean of Knowledge of the Prophet (s), because he was invited to the Presence of Allah in Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa and was given the Knowledge of the First and the Last.
Allah (swt) said to him, “O Muhammad, describe Me!”
He said, “My Lord, You are the Subduer, the Vanquisher (al-Qahhaar)!”
Allah said, “What do you mean by that Attribute?”
Prophet (s) said, “My Lord! You subdue all hearts and not a single sin remains after that. So subdue the hearts of my ummah so none of their sins remain!” which is the Station of Two Bows' Lengths or Nearer, Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa.
Allah said, “Say more to Me, O Muhammad!”
He (s) said, “O Allah! You are the Most Magnificent, Mutakabbir; the Most Jealous, Ghayyur; the Greatest, `Azheem! And with these Attributes, You extinguish all anger or fire from the ummat an-Nabi (s)! You are The Omnipotent One, my Lord, with which You stop the actions of Iblees, his devils and unbelievers from reaching my ummah! Even if these enemies were amongst them, You remove their harm from Ummat an-Nabi (s) with Your Omnipotence!”
Therefore, do you think that anyone can harm the one whose body and spirit was raised and honored by Allah (swt) with Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa? Is it possible for an atom, that is worth less than a mosquito’s wing in Allah's Sight (meaning this dunya), to harm the Prophet (s) in any way? What then do you think of the ten or fifteen individuals who tried to harm the Prophet? Is it possible for that atom to harm Allah or rather, harm the one He honored? Subhaan-Allah, how empty-minded they are! A wing of a mosquito cannot even harm itself. How then can it affect anything against the ummah of the Prophet (s), not to mention the Prophet (s) himself? They do not know the Greatness of Prophet (s), as their knowledge is limited. They are not aware that in the Hereafter they will be running to the Prophet (s), asking for and needing his shafa`ah, and he will intercede for all Creation! All Prophets and their nations will come to the Prophet (s) and beseech his intercession, saying, “O Messenger of Allah, intercede on our behalf!”
Honor is for Allah (swt), for His Prophet (s), and for the believers. Therefore, O Muslims, all might and rank is yours! No one can harm you as you are the lovers of Prophet (s)! Allah has forgiven your sins before you even came to this world! As an honor for His Prophet (s), Allah has forgiven all the sins of his ummah, saying, “You were the best nation amongst nations, ordering good and forbidding evil!” Allah (swt) said “you were,” in past tense, meaning, “When there was no life here, when you were still souls, and when all the souls said ‘Yes’ on the Day of Promises, already you were the best ummah ever brought forth for people!”
When Allah (swt) asked, “Am I not your Lord?” they answered, “Yes!” and that is the nation of the Prophet (s), the best of all nations! Prophet (s) is saying, “You were the best of ummahs and I was sent to all nations, but especially to the best of nations, so that I complete them and they will be perfected in the Divine Presence and come spotless on the Day of Resurrection.” Hence Prophet (s), who His Lord honored, said:
انما بعثت لاتمم مكارم الاخلاق
Innamaa bu`ithtu li utammimu makaarim al-akhlaaq.
I have been sent to perfect the best of conduct (your behavior and character). (Bazzaar)
Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was sent to perfect the characters of the ummah without overlooking anything, making them immaculate, removing from them corrupt traits and taking them from jaahiliyya (ignorance) to belief, from evil acts to good deeds, and that is the ummah whom the Prophet (s) wants to instil with the best values. Allah (swt) has commanded us to fulfill orders and leave prohibitions, such as bad character traits, and the orders are the categorical obligations. Bad traits are those we grow up with, such as lying, envy, avarice, anger, etc. When Allah will judge us on the Day of Resurrection, “Whoever has done a mustard seed of good or evil shall see it.” Our deeds in dunya are neither perfect nor perfected, so since Prophet (s) was sent to perfect our characters, he himself will perfect our good characters and remove us from bad characters into the Ocean of Excellent Virtues.
So it is not expected from the servant to do that himself as he is too weak against Shaytan, but the Prophet (s) will do it and on the Day of Resurrection will bring the believers in the very best state, pure and perfected. Our souls will be filled with the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), because he himself will have done it personally and will bring us all into the Divine Presence! What do you think then when you hear that the Prophet (s) said, “Whoever sends salaat on me once, Allah sends salaat on them ten times.” For us, a single salawaat on Prophet (s) realizes absolute goodness and perfection, because the blessing of Allah on us is not like ours. What do you think when we recite salawaat in our own deficient way only once, and Allah blesses us ten times? Does not such Divine Salawaat purify us? One single salawaat of Allah is enough to purify the entire ummah and grant it entry to Paradise without account! Look at the Divine Generosity! He has made a single salawaat of anyone on the Prophet (s) equivalent to ten salawaat of Allah (swt) on them, and therefore, the blessings of salawaat gatherings are unfathomable! They are the groves of Paradise, so graze in them as they are devoid of sins!
As soon as we entered here, our sins were forgiven! We blessed the Prophet (s), so Allah blesses us! May Allah forgive us and enter us in the Prophet’s Ocean of Perfection and Forgiveness and make us send salaat on the Prophet (s) while standing, as that is the adab of salawaat. Even if we invoke blessings sitting and lying on our sides, Allah accepts it from us and blesses us, but the genuine salawaat is to stand in front of the Rawdah and praise Prophet (s) in every way, as transmitted through all the wordings. May Allah (swt) reunite us tonight with His and our Beloved tonight, and may Allah bless you and grant you peace!
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
