...Prophet (s) is a must, for all Creation, not only on us human beings, but stones make salawaat, tasbih, on Prophet (s) and it’s written for Ummat un-Nabi. He (s) used to have stones in his hand and the Sahaabah (r) heard their tasbih; he (s) passed them to Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) and they heard their tasbih; then he passed them to Sayyidina `Uthman (r) there was tasbih; passed them to Sayyidina `Umar, tasbih; the Sahaabah (r) heard the tasbih of stones, which don’t eat, walk, move; from the beginning of this world to the end they are in tasbih that is written to Prophet (s).

This is from Hadith and the Holy Qur`an. The Hadith relates that Prophet (s) put seven stones in his hand and Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) was able to hear them making tasbih, and when passed to Abu Bakr (r) they were making tasbih in his hand, passed to `Umar (r) doing tasbih in his hand, passed to `Ali (r) it stopped, not because Sayyidina `Ali (r) has a lower maqaam, but because if anyone of Ummat an-Nabi had heard it they would go up, fee mahabbatillah, where no one can control them anymore, because they were from Jannah. So Sayyidina `Umar (r) took the hasawaat (stones) in his hand and they made tasbih, “SubhaanAllah, subhaanAllah, subhaanAllah ʿalaa ʿazhamatihi wa ʿuluwwi shaʾnihi.” We hear all kinds of tasbih. When Sayyidina `Uthman (r) took them they heard tasbih. When Sayyidina `Ali (r) took them, he was afraid the whole Ummah would run in the jungles, that dunya would become nothing for them, zero. That’s why the Hadith didn’t mention Sayyidina `Ali (r), as the sound diminished and then stopped. But in this majlis, like any other majlis in the name of Awliya, Prophet (s) gave the reality of this to the shaykh, so that when he makes dhikr he can bless them with that mercy no one knows about, to make salawaat on Prophet (s):

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَاللّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

Say (O Muhammad), "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me! Allah will love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat Aali-'Imraan, 3:31)

So the love of Allah and Prophet (s) is important, that’s why he said, “If you love Allah you have to love me, you can’t separate from me.” Allah is The Creator, Prophet (s) is The `Abd. We are Muslim and we’ve been ordered to follow Prophet (s), and no one can say this is shirk: In kuntum tuhibboona 'Llaaha fattabi`oonee yuhbibkumullaah, “If you really love Allah, then follow me.” He didn’t say follow this or that one, Prophet (s) specifically said, “Follow Muhammad.” Who will you follow? Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!

So Prophet (s) knows his Ummah and counts them one by one, and whenever they’re in such an association their names are given to Prophet (s) by the angels, which is not necessary to be given as he knows them! He knows, look how great! Prophet (s) waits for Allah’s servants to make salawaat, then Allah orders angels’ pure salawaat that is written for them and now for those attending this majlis.

To go deeper into the love of Prophet (s), we need more than stones to show love, and even the stones showed love to him (s) when he touched them.

Jabal Uhud said, “Yaa Rasoolullah, I am at your service, order me and I will turn all this mountain into gold!”

Prophet (s) said, “We don’t need it, we have Allah.”

Jibreel (a) came to Sayyidina Ibrahim (a) when he was in the fire of Nimrud and asked him if he needed his help. He said, “I don’t need you, The One Who put me here knows better than you! Allah will send me support.”

Who do you think is that support? Who saved Sayyidina Nuh’s (a) ship from drowning? Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! One time Muhyiddin Ibn `Arabi (q) opened his hand and said, “My hand saved Nuh!” People were surprised and wondered, “What is he saying, how did his hand save the boat of Nuh?” and they wanted to take him to court.

He said, “My hand saved him, because my hand is from Rasoolullah (s), who will be coming at the end of dunya. His hand is my hand and my hand is his hand: I am part of Prophet (s), from his grandchildren.”

This means every descendant of Prophet (s) has something others cannot do; they can do anything if they have the power, and every one of us has a power, because Prophet (s) will not leave his Ummah without power, especially his lovers. That’s why He verified that love in Holy Qur`an when He said, In kuntum tuhibboona 'Llaaha fattabi`oonee yuhbibkumullaah, “If you love Me, follow Muhammad (s). To follow Me you have to follow The Truth.” This means that Prophet (s) is The Truth, al-Haqqu ‘l-Mubeen, he (s) is al-Haqqu ‘l-Mubeen, the real Haqq is Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

He is reminding me that Maghrib is coming, but it’s still 10-15 minutes away. (Various people offer timings to Maghrib.] Sixteen minutes? How are they able to calculate where the Sun and Ka`bah are, as without the Sun there is no light. Ka`bah is the House of Allah, and therefore, everyone has to run to His House.

فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ

Run to Allah (from all that is false and evil)! (Surat adh-Dhaariyaat, 51:50)

Fa-firroo illa-Llah, everyone has to run to Allah (swt). How do you run to Him? In kuntum tuhibboon Allah fattabi`oonee yuhbibkum Allah, “If you really love Me, follow Muhammad.” So His Prophet (s) will take everyone with him. Ramadan is going to finish, we need Your Mercy.

شهر رمضان أوله رحمة وأوسطه مغفرة وآخـــره عـــتق من النــــار

The first (ten days) of the month of Ramadan is mercy, the second (ten days) is forgiveness and the last (ten days) is salvation from the Fire. (Bayhaqi)

The beginning of it is rahmah, and we’re asking, yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah, bless us from this rahmah, dress us from maghfirah and dress us in refuge from Fire, may Allah take us away from it and open His Treasures in this holy month for us.

Bi hurmati ‘l-habeeb, bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah.

(Distribution of fundraising boxes of dates.) Once I spoke at a fundraiser in Los Angeles and Imran Khan was also on the stage, and they wanted me to say something. There were many speakers and they wanted me to motivate people to donate. I’m not going to motivate you, because it’s an artificial donation; we tell you what they need for the mosque and you put or not, it’s up to you. And when I was giving the lecture on the stage a man with a yellow hair approached and said, “Shaykh Kabbani, I want to take Shahaadah.” He was a hairdresser to the stars, and now he’s with me in Michigan. He left hairdressing for all the movie stars, President Bush and the like, and now he is running the farm looking after chickens. So we don’t want you to be in a farm, we want you to give something! [Laughter.]

Salawaat al-Faatih

O Allah, bless our liege-lord Muhammad who opened what was closed and who sealed what had gone before; he makes the Truth Victorious by the Truth and he is the guide to Thy Straight Path; and bless his household as it befits his immense stature and splendor.
