A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللّهُ وَاللّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Fear Allah and Allah will teach you. (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:282)

That is an important message: Ittaqullah wa yu`allimakullah, first you must have taqwa and then Allah (swt) will teach you. Allah doesn’t need to teach you how to write an essay, but from heavenly sources He will inspire you what to speak about, to address people. It is in the hands of Prophet (s) whom he will give that authority to. That authority is the key to open the door, as he said in the above ayah: taqwa is to fear Allah (swt), and on the other side love of Allah (swt), both sides. Allah will teach you, as He mentioned in Surat al-Kahf when He described the man who met with Sayyidina Musa (a), “You are meeting with Our servant whom We have taught.”

فَوَجَدَا عَبْدًا مِّنْ عِبَادِنَا آتَيْنَاهُ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِندِنَا وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا عِلْمًا

So they found one of Our Servants on whom We had bestowed mercy from Ourselves and We taught knowledge from Our Own Presence. (Surat al-Kahf, 18:65)

Sayyidina Khidr (a) didn’t have anything to learn from this incident, but Allah (swt) revealed, wa `allamnahu min ladunna `ilma, “Yaa Musa, We have taught that man from Our Heavenly Knowledge. You cannot compete with him.” It means the one who has taqwa, Allah will teach knowledge that no one knew before. `Ilm increases day after day, it doesn’t decrease; we know `ilm ad-dunya, secular knowledge increases, for example, there is more and more technology and Allah knows where it will reach. What about heavenly knowledge? Allah (swt) will increase your heavenly knowledge more and more, depending on how much taqwa you have, and He gave us a balance to know if we can achieve that knowledge or not.

If we put taqwa on one side of the scale and `ilm on the other, wa taqullah wa `allimukumullah, it balances itself, and those who think it is not in balance must struggle to balance it. Awliyaullah not only balance the two, but focus more on taqwa to get more `ilm, whereas scholars according to their level go only for `ilm. From this story we understand what Allah really wants: for us to love Him and to be guided by His Prophet, Sayyidina Muhammad afdaalu ‘s-salaatu wa ‘s-salaam!

Say (O Muhammad), "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me! Allah will love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat Aali-'Imraan, 3:31)

“In kuntum tuhibboona ‘Llaaha fattabi`oonee yuhbibkumullaah,” is a very well-known message. Allah made the love of Prophet (s) a condition: first we love Prophet (s), then we enter the Divine Presence and Reality of the love of Allah (swt). And that is how it comes, not through normal ways. This knowledge will be disseminated to you and to everyone through tahammu ‘l-adhdhaat, which means to carry difficulties, to carry the anchor, to carry a load heavier than what you can bear, in order for you to reach a level of patience. Then they will open for you, and the best example of this is a story.

One day, Prophet (s) called `Umar ibn Husayn (r), not Sayyidina `Umar (r) but one of the other Sahaabah (r) who was very close to Prophet (s) and had great respect for him and his Family (a). Prophet (s) said, “You have a high level of respect towards us. Come with me to my daughter Fatima az-Zahra to sit with her for a little bit.”

So they went and although Prophet (s) is her father, he didn’t open the door and enter, he knocked on the door.

She said, “Who is it?”

Prophet (s) said, “As-salaamu `alaykum, yaa Fatima.”

She said, “Yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah, please enter.”

He (s) said, “I have someone with me, can I enter with him?”

She (a) said, “Who is with you?”

Prophet (s) said, “`Umar ibn Husayn.”

She said, “Yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah! Welcome, both of you, but I don’t have anything to cover myself.”

Prophet (s) looked at her, stepped inside and showed her how wear her garment nicely, and she said, “Yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah! The way you put it for me covers my legs now, but it doesn’t cover my head.”

So Prophet (s) handed her his turban cloth and said, “Put it on your head.”

She put it on and Prophet (s) entered with `Umar ibn Hussain (r).

She said to him, “Yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah! Yaa `Abadee, yaa Abi! O my father, I see that you are tired. Are you well today?”

He (s) said, “I woke up today with very intense pain because I didn't eat for several days.”

That is Sayyidina Muhammad (s), the Messenger of Allah (swt), and he did not eat for three days and he had pain in his stomach, the Messenger and Light whom Allah sent to humanity, and he didn’t tell anyone. He loves his daughter Sayyida Fatima (a), all angels and everyone loves her. We are asking Allah (swt) to be under her wings on the Day of Judgement, to be protected!

Prophet (s) asked, “What do you have to eat?” Allahumma salli alaa Sayyidina Muhammad.

Sayyida Fatima (a) said, “Yaa Sayyidi, for seven days I also didn't eat and I haven't had food in the house.” Faa bakaa, yaa Rasoolullah (s)!

Prophet (s) wept and said, “Yaa Fatima, my eyes are tearing because Allah (swt) gave me someone like you and also Sayyidina `Ali who never complain. I am like you and you are like me, both of us have not eaten. If I ask Allah (swt) to send me a table of food from Heaven, He will, but for my love of Allah I prefer to be hungry, because then in Paradise I will come to Him hungry.”

Sayyida Fatima (a) said, “O my father! I am also like you: I prefer the taste of Akhirah over dunya.”

Today, we have food for a hundred days and still complain! Whatever food you serve in any home around the world, people complain. Allah (swt) Huw ar-Razzaq, is The One Who Provides; therefore, you must not complain about food, whatever is put in front of you eat it and don’t argue, because that food is making tasbih for you. When you say, “Bismillah ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem,” all your food becomes healthy and you can easily eat it.

You come home and ask, “What have you cooked today?” Your wife is trembling with fear in front of you, and you say, “What is this? Where is the meat, the chicken, what kind of food is this?” In Ramadan, they spend more money on food than in the rest of the year and at the end they throw it away as they cannot eat it.

Prophet (s) tapped on her shoulder and said, “Yaa Fatima, be happy because of that, as without exception, you are the Queen of all ladies in Paradise, their Sayyida, Master.”

Prophet (s) will be the first to appear in front of Allah (swt) on the Day of Judgement. He (s) will observe people and decide to send them to Paradise without account by his Shafa`ah and he will stand on behalf of the whole Ummah that Day, and yet for three days he did not eat. We have freezers full of food and still complain.

May Allah (swt) dress us with endless blessings, especially in Ramadan when all the doors of Hellfire are completely closed and no one who is fasting will go to Hellfire. Allah (swt) will turn all your sayyi’aat, sins, into hasanaat, good deeds, and not just sins of that day or that moment, but all the sins you accumulated from birth until the Day of Judgement are replaced by hasanaat if you fast one day in Ramadan! Allah rahmatullah wasi`ah, He said the first ten days are rahmah in which He dresses you with His Beautiful Names ar-Rahmaan ar-Raheem, ar-Rahmah, the Names He loves most, ar-Rahmaan `alam al-Qur’an.

الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ

The Most Beneficent! It is He Who has taught the Qur’an. He has created Man.

(Surat ar-Rahman, 55:1-3)

From His Rahmah, He taught you and everyone, so don’t say, “I am teaching Qur’an.” It is Allah (swt) who encouraged you to learn and memorize it and you will get that blessing; don’t charge money for reciting Qur’an as it is not nice. Some people argue about payment to recite Qur’an. When Sayyidina Fatima az-Zahra (a) married Sayyidina `Ali (r), they had one pillow and one cowskin as a carpet to sleep on, no cushions or feathered pillows, only straw. Also, Prophet’s (s) mattress was made of straw. Today, how many mattresses do we have to change? “This one is good, this one is not good.” Sleep on the floor! We didn’t train ourselves. That is why Prophet (s) said:

اخشوشنوا فان النعم لن تدوم

“Live a rough life because favors do not last forever.”

(Ibn Abi Shaybah; at-Tabarani with different wording.)

Live rough, don’t ask for fancy things, because sometimes ni’mat doesn’t stay with you, it might go. One day you have money and one day you don’t, so try to live your life the hard way. One pillow is enough, but when you get two pillows you ask for three, is it not? No one is satisfied with what Allah gave them. Allah (swt) has given you everything: homes, cars, your rizq, happiness! Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen! Alhamdulillah all the people around us, followers of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q), are happy with their lives.

Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (a) will be first to enter Paradise, then all the ladies from naslun an-Nabi (s), the line of Prophet (s), will enter Paradise behind her. When she (a) is told to go to her Paradise, one angel will call on people, saying, “All of you, don’t look up at her, look down now out of respect until she goes in with her entourage, sa`adat; when they enter, then you can look.”

Before that you must close your eyes as no one is allowed to look at her except those who will be with her. After they enter, the rest will go to Paradise by her Shafa`ah!

Grandshaykh (q), may Allah bless his soul, said Prophet (s) called her and said, “Yaa Fatima, I want you to marry now as you are at that age.”

She said, “Yaa Rasoolullah, as you like.”

He (s) brought Sayyidina `Ali (r) and said to her, “Do you accept him to be your husband?” She kept quiet and gave a sign that she was accepting, but on one condition. So Prophet (s) said to Sayyidina Jibreel (a), “Fatima is quiet as she has a condition.”

Sayyidina Jibreel (a) came from Allah (swt) and said, “Yaa Muhammad (s)! You have to get Fatima married. Ask what is her condition.”

Prophet (s) asked and Sayyida Fatima said, “I have one condition. If it is fulfilled I will marry; if not, I will not marry. Yaa Rasoolullah! My condition is that he must give me a dowry, and since Allah is ordering you to marry me to `Ali, I will only accept a dowry that Allah accepts.”

Prophet (s) said, “What do you want as your dowry?”

She said, “I want the entire Ummat an-Muhammad (s) to enter Paradise with no account!”

Allah (swt) granted that to Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (a): her dowry is the whole Ummah of Prophet (s)! Look how much Ahlu ’l-Bayt are trying their best to save the Ummah in so many different ways. Sayyida Fatima az-Zahra (a) is the most humble lady that ever came to dunya. Although he had wives, she took care of Prophet (s) the most. Whenever he was sick or wanted food, he called her and she prepared everything for him.

May Allah (swt) keep us in her dowry, and may Allah (swt) forgive us and bless everyone, and inshaa-Allah we will be with her in dunya and Akhirah, not left alone, because Prophet (s) will give everything for her sake, and for the sake of Prophet (s) Allah will give us everything! May Allah (swt) give us from His Endless Pleasures and Treasures, whatever is best for our families and for the Ummah.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, wa ‘s-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. Fatihah.

Don't think what she asked for it is too much! She will ask for something you never thought of, she will ask Allah (swt) to give from Bahr al-Qudrah! Allah will give her that power, because she is Sayyidat an-Nisaa Ahlu ‘l-Jannah, Sayyida, Queen of Paradise! Whatever she requests she will be granted! She asked for the Ummah as her dowry and Allah gave it to her; she will ask to take from the treasures of Bahr al-Qudrah to dress the Ummah and Allah will grant her that! Don't underestimate her power or that of her husband, Sayyidina `Ali karam-Allahu wajha wa radhi-Allahu anhu wa `alayhi ‘s-salaam, wa `alayhum jami`an as-salaam, inshaa-Allah, wa `alayna ma`hum. [Du`a.]

There is not only one Kawthar, but every Paradise from the First Heaven to the Last Heaven has a kawthar from which people drink. We know of seven or eight Heavens, but Allah has endless Paradises, all with Nahr al-Kawthar, one sip of which is enough to attract all the treasures of that Garden of Heaven. With one sip, Allah (swt) will open to you all knowledges and their treasures from every Heaven! May Allah open His Treasures for us in dunya and Akhirah!

[Du`a.] Fatihah.
