Suhbah at Private Residence
(Suhbah in progress...)
Allah (swt) mentioned it in Holy Qur’an; that’s when Bani Isra`eel were lost in the desert and Allah gave them lentils. So for the seclusion and reaching your Trust must be forty days, at least in your life one time and lentils eating in it. So lentils are important, it’s the baraka of Prophets and awliya. `Ulama today only eat kebabs, while in their seclusions awliya eat lentils; outside of seclusion they eat as they like, but in their seclusion they only eat lentils. When Grandshaykh (q) went into his seclusion for one year, he added seven olives and one piece of bread [daily to the seclusion food]. A wali cannot reach his wilayat without a seclusion in dunya; he can be a wali, but not informed. For example, you might be a wali but not informed, you don’t know your self, but in Reality Allah has dressed your heart with sainthood. So if you don’t do seclusion, if you are a wali and you’ve been dressed with that but you didn’t get it in this dunya, you have to get it in the grave and in the grave the seclusion will be 100 times harder in the grave than in dunya!
So awliyaullah pray their mureeds will be ready to do seclusion, because they don’t want to see them doing it in the grave with a hundred times more difficulty! And then when they do the forty days’ seclusion in dunya or in their grave, they will be dressed with five levels of Holy Qur’an: Dunya, Sirr, Sirr al-Sirr, Akhfa and Khafa. Every level has its own engine, muharrik. Al-Muharrik is Allah (swt), He makes your engine work with His Heavenly Light, Allahu Noora ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-`ard.
Allah (swt) said in the verse, Allahu Noora ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-ard, “Allah is the Light of the Heavens and Earth.” If Allah’s Light is Heavens and Earth, do you think any impurity will be under that Light on Earth? [No.] That means no one will be in a state of impurity, everyone will be in the Divine Presence in a pure form that they cannot achieve in dunya, but he will get that in Akhirah.
So Allah (swt) is the Light, as He said:
اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
Allahu Nooru ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-ard.
He is the Light of Heavens, He is the Light of Earth, and is there anything not under that Light? Impossible! Allah (swt) is saying, “He is the Light of Earth.” If that Noor were taken, everything would be dead; everything will disappear, annihilate completely; everything will not exist; everything will be cremated; everything disappears if Allah's Light is not there! Everything is qaa’imun bi noorillah, existing in Allah’s Light. You cannot appear if you are not existing in Allah’s Light and for everyone there is a different Light that he appears with and is under it with a different name, which is why you have seven names. Under every ayah of Fatihah you have one name for every person and Fatihah is Qalbi ‘l-Qur’an wa qalbi ‘n-Nabi (s), “The heart of the Qur’an and the heart of the Prophet (s).” Every ayah represents in it one name for one human being and every human has seven names: in dunya one name, and then in the five different levels different names, in Maqaam as-Sirr, Maqaam Sirr as-Sirr, Maqaam al-Akhfa, Maqaam al-Khafa, five names for the five levels, and that leaves two: one for Noor an-Nabi (s) and one for Noor Adam (a). The others are from the Light that Allah (swt) spreading over Creation, Allahu Noora ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-ard. So you cannot appear without that Light. Everyone has his trust in the hand of his teacher.
Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (q) had a mureed with a very high spiritual level, he was considered a wali, but he didn’t get his Amanah, Trust yet, and he was walking with the mureed by the river and they came to the cliff. He pushed his mureed in the river, and his mureed couldn't swim so he sank and before reaching the bottom, according to Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir Jilani, he was entering Maqaam as-Sirr; Maqaam Sirr as-Sirr is only for Naqshbandis. The level Maqaam as-Sirr is where no gossips come in the mureed’s heart and Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (q) looked at his mureed’s heart and found complete tasleemiyya, submission, so he extended his hand and raised the mureed back to the cliff because he didn’t have any gossips.
At that moment, rawhaniyyat, Shah Naqshband (q) came and said to Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir (q), “Yaa Sayyidee, on what basis you gave him the Trust?”
Sayyidina `Abdul-Qadir al-Jilani (q) said, “His complete tasleemiyya.”
Shah Naqshband (q) said, “You are looking from Maqaam as-Sirr, but from the third level, Maqaam Sirr as-Sirr, I detected that his heart was saying, ‘I'm not complaining, I’m surrendering to my shaykh, but what was the wisdom?’ That means he didn’t give complete tasleemiyya, because he wanted to know why. From the third level we will never give the mureed his Trust, because we can still hear his heart is questioning.”
See how awliya from different levels can detect! When you are lost call on the Abdaal, they will help you.
Bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
