Fajr Suhbah

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

We will continue to explain Surat an-Naazi`aat. It is a heavy surah, full of examples of things we have to avoid in order to attain endless life in the Hereafter with rewards and to be in the Divine Presence and the Presence of the Prophet (s).

Has the story of Musa reached you? (Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:15)

In order that we know what we are speaking about, I will ask `Ali to read that in English:

Has the story of Moses reached you? Behold, your Lord called him to the Sacred Valley of Toowa [and said,] “Go to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds.”

Now to the difficult part: no one can say that the Qur’an is translated; it cannot be, as the Holy Qur'an is alive, it is Allah's Ancient Words, it is not created, Qur’an is there, so to say “translation” or “tafseer” or “interpretation” are but drops in an ocean. Awliyaullah say that in every letter of Holy Qur'an there are 24,000 oceans of knowledge they take from! In this surah, as we said before, [it is mentioned that] Sayyidina Israfeel will blow the Trumpet the second blow, in the first blow everything will die and for forty years there will be nothing at all, and Allah will say:

لِّمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ۖ لِلَّـهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ

To whom is the Kingdom this day? To Allah, The Unique, The Irresistible. (Surat Ghafir, 40:16)

That day all unbelievers will be put down, then the second blow will be so loud that even those buried in the deepest part of the Earth will hear it and come out from their graves. In the interpretational meaning, we are living and doing sins and everything that is not good, we are alive and entertaining ourselves, then that first blow will send us to die spiritually because of too much sins. When Allah's Will comes to guide you, as we are guiding us in this meeting by praying and reading Holy Qur'an, and this is a blessed meeting and there are thousands of such blessed meetings around the world, that is the time we die and know how much we have come against Allah (swt) and His Prophet (s). So when they die, and as the Prophet (s) said, “If you want to see someone who died before he died then look at Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r).”

So those who died before they die will be resurrected in the presence of the Prophet (s) and guided by Allah (swt) and rewarded. Under what the Prophet (s) mentioned, “Die before you die” mootoo qabl an tamootoo, Allah will change that body that is made of earth to an enlightened body, jasad nooraani. That is why awliya go to get their body enlightened, then the soul, which is already enlightened, is joined with the enlightened body in the presence of the Prophet (s) and in the Divine Presence and there are no more bad desires there.

The resurrection is when we come out from our mistakes and all the sins will be hidden, erased, and Allah will give you a new body, not changing the body but the body you have will become a pure one, al-jasad at-taahir, the purified body. Then you are in transitional period where with the first blow of the Trumpet you attain death and then after second blow you reach Ard al-Hayaat, the Land of Youth, like the Water of Youth, meaning a land from Paradise. Your body becomes connected to Paradise in Akhirah and you will be given some drops in dunya of what is coming in Akhirah.

Allah Will Always Protect His Prophets

So with that surah everyone is afraid and I heard from many people that it is much too heavy and much too frightening for people. Also, when that surah was revealed, the Prophet (s) was worried and felt heavy, so Allah (swt) wanted to entertain him and He said, “Did you hear the story of Musa?” (79:15) “Don’t be worried, it happened before with Fir'awn (Pharaoh),” because they denied Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was a prophet and they tortured his Sahaabah (r), especially his uncles. So Allah wanted to entertain the Prophet (s) and put it in the form of question, as if He wants to tell Prophet (s) the story about Sayyidina Musa (a), to say, “Fir'awn was more powerful than your people who are opposing you, but I destroyed him because he came against My Prophet!”

When his Lord called him in the Sacred Valley of Toowa. (Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:16)

The Sanctity of Pure Places

Allah called him; nida means that someone did not come to Him, meaning, “You cannot approach Allah”, but he heard the sound in the Holy Valley; Allah called him and said to Sayyidina Musa (a), “You cannot approach your Lord in the sanctified and holy valley.” What is that waadi al-muqaddasah, “sanctified and holy valley” and how did it become holy and what is this meaning of ‘holy’? It was purified and it was clean, with no shirk in it. When Allah called Moses (a), He did not want to call him except in a place that is clean and perfect, like when the Virgin Mary (a) entered her niche and found she was provided for and her Uncle Zakariyya (a) asked her, “From where did you get that provision?”

Whenever Zakariyya entered her prayer niche he found provision with her. He said, “O Maryam, from where do you have this?” She said,“It is from Allah.” Indeed Allah provides for whomever He wills without account. (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:37)

It turned her prayer niche into a holy place where Sayyidina Zakariya (a) went to ask Allah for a son, after reaching over 90 years of age, and with his wife also, and his du`a was accepted. So Allah called Sayyidina Musa (a) to a valley that is between two mountains, which symbolically represents `Ilm ash-Shari`ah wa `Ilm al-Haqiqat, that was cleaned for Sayyidina Musa (a) in order for Allah (swt) to descend or speak to Sayyidina Musa (a) from wherever His Divine Presence is, calling to Sayyidina Musa (a) through a pure land.

Why then do some deny that the grave of the Prophet (s) is holy? If Allah (swt) made that land holy for Sayyidina Musa (a), what then for the Prophet (s)? No, fal-laaiq an yakoonu qabr an-Nabi (s) ahya, it is more fitting to say that the grave of the Prophet (s) is holy! That is why people are attracted there, even more than to Mecca. People are attracted to holy places and what are holy places on Earth now? Meccat al-Mukarrama and Madinat ul-Munawarrah. Mecca is the Holy House of Allah (swt) and in Madinah is the Holy Grave of the Prophet (s), not because of the masjid of the Prophet (s).

Allah Will Fold Up Creation

Allah says, "You are in the Holy Valley of Toowa", a city between Egypt and Mecca, but in the meaning ‘toowa’ is tawayt al-kitab, “I folded up the book.”

On the Day that we roll up the sky like a scroll rolled up for books. (Surat al-Anbiya, 21:104)

“When We fold, nutwi as-samaa, the universe, We fold the Heavens as we fold books.” It means that Allah can make this whole universe together with the samaa, the skies and Heavens: He will fold them into the smallest particle or way it that it can be folded and everything will fit in a small space. All this knowledge that is hidden between these two covers, “We fold the book and bring all the deceased ones back to life; all is between the folding of Heavens and Earth.”

For example, you have this group of people here and if you fold them, as Allah said in Holy Qur'an, to fold Heavens and Earth, still they are existing inside what is folded and nothing disappeared. Allah says, “Kun fayakoon!” He folds them and He brings them back alive with all their structure, their DNA, to know them one by one, although they were folded like a book. Allah wants Sayyidina Musa (a) to come there to get what is between the covers of the book. Tuwiyat al-ard, the Earth is folded. When someone moves in space--for example, he goes very fast and the distance is very long and he makes it in one hour, where normally it is two hours-- we say it is ‘as if the Earth folded to him’ and he came quicker than normally can be done.

Allah Called Sayyidina Musa to Toowa and

He Called Sayyidina Muhammad to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa

So Allah wants Sayyidina Musa (a) to come to that Holy Valley in order to receive Revelation and for Allah to speak to him. If that is for Sayyidina Musa (a), what is for the Prophet (s)? Sayyidina Musa went to the Holy Valley Toowa and Prophet (s) was brought to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa! O our brothers who strayed too far from the meaning, which is better: beyond the `Arsh or a valley on Earth that Allah purified? What did Allah do for the Prophet (s)? He made him visit Madinat al-Munawarrah and then al-Quds on Earth, and then took him to the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Heavens, and dressed him in each one with beautiful, magnificent, heavenly dresses, then finally brought him to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, within two-bow lengths, very near the Divine Presence!

What did Allah give to Sayyidina Musa (a), if He folded the Earth to give him information on Earth and in Heavens, then what did Allah give to the Prophet (s)?

When Prophet Accepted His Ummah Clean and Pure, as a Trust

As Grandshaykh `AbdAllah (q) said, and these are awliyaullah and Allah gives them higher meanings:

When the Prophet (s) went to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, Allah showed him his Ummah, and Grandshaykh (q) said the Prophet (s) saw his Ummah and he was so happy!

There are two meanings here: Ummat al-Ijaaba, those who accepted Islam; and wa Ummat ad-Da`wah, those who are under da`wah, being called to Islam and they can convert. On Judgment Day we cannot say Ummat ad-Da`wah, but rather Ummat al-Ijaaba. Grandshaykh (q) said:

Allah will show the Prophet (s) his Ummah very pious and very sincere with all the tajalli that comes on them, and He will say to the Prophet (s), “Yaa Muhammad! I am giving you this Ummah as a Trust and as I give it to you clean you must return it to Me clean on Judgment Day.”

The Prophet (s) saw the Ummah in very sincere worship of Allah, very pious and all were on Kalimat at-Tawheed, and said, “I am accepting, I am accepting, I am accepting.” On the third acceptance, Allah showed the Prophet (s) all the sins and ma`asiyy his Ummah will do and that shocked the Prophet (s). He said, “Yaa Rabb! How will I handle it? You gave them to me clean.”

Allah said, “Yes, I gave them to you clean, but when they go to Earth that is what happens.”

Then the Prophet (s) said, “Yes I will, if you give me supporters,” and Allah showed him his Sahaabah (r) and the awliyaullah, his supporters in that issue.

So Sayyidina Musa (a) got his trust in the Holy Valley of Toowa and he got his knowledge on Earth. The Prophet (s) got his knowledge and his promise in the Divine Presence, each according to his station and, for sure, Qaaba Qawsayni Aw Adnaa is the higher level.

Why Did Allah Send a Great Prophet to Pharaoh?

So Allah (swt) sent Sayyidina Musa (a) to Fir`awn to accept to enter his religion, but what was message Sayyidina Musa’s message?

Go to Fir`awn; truly he has transgressed. (Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:17)

“Go to Fir`awn, he has transgressed the limits.” Why is Allah sending such a huge prophet to Fir`awn? He wants Fir`awn to believe in Sayyidina Musa (a), because Allah cares for everyone, but this one was still arrogant and still rejecting and denying everything, so Allah wanted him to come to Him, but he never came, so Allah got upset with him and said to Sayyidina Musa (a), “Go and bring him, if he accepts you.” So when Sayyidina Musa came, he showed Fir`awn many signs.

Then He showed him the greatest sign. (Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:20)

He showed him the biggest signs, what are they?

We sent upon them death, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood, self-explanatory signs, but they were arrogant and a people steeped in sin. (Surat al-Araaf, 7:133)

Pharaoh’s Arrogant Rejection of the Heavenly Signs

Allah sent five big signs on them: lice and blood, which Fir`awn refused to believe; he showed his cane turned to a snake, Fir`awn refused; he showed his hand turning white, Fir`awn still refused. Allah ordered Sayyidina Musa (a) “go to him” and Sayyidina Musa (a) said, “You know he will never believe, why are You sending me?” as Sayyidina Musa (a) was always speaking to Allah like that, and Allah told him, “You go to him and tell him he was wrong,” and Fir`awn went far more than that, when he said:

فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ

Then he said, “I am your Lord, Most High!” (Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:24)

He did not say, “I am your Lord,” he said, “I am your highest Lord,” meaning, “the Lord of Musa is nothing!”

Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

We will continue tomorrow inshaa-Allah, this is very difficult to explain. Remember for tomorrow:

Say, “Would you like to be purified from sin? And that I guide you to your Lord so that you might fear?”

(Surat an-Naazi`aat, 79:18-19)

From among His servants only the [true] scholars have fear of Allah. (Surat al-Faatir, 35:28)

Look how knowledgeable `ulama were in the past, now no one makes tafseer like theirs, now their teaching is how to politicize and westernize Islam and how we have to behave in a society with technology.

Rabbana taqabbal minna wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
