Salloo `alayh! Salloo `ala an-Nabi! Salloo `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alayh. Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alayh! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi, Sayyidina Muhammad! Allahumma salli `ala Sayyidina Muhammad. (Crowd responds) Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi!
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh.
A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi ‘r-Rahmaani ‘r-Raheem.
Ati`oo 'Llaha wa ati`oo 'r-Rasoola wa uli ‘l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey His Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (4:59)
`Alayna `itaat-ullah wa `aitat-habeebihi 'l-Mustafa, wa `ita’atu uli 'l-amr.
We have to obey Allah (swt), obey Prophet (s) and obey those who are in authority. And we are under the roof of this masjid, which means we have to obey. Our obedience goes to the owner of this house, and the Owner of this house is Allah (swt); innal masaajida lillah - Masaajid are for Allah. Al-masajidu lillah fa `alayna `itaata saahib hadha 'l-masjid wa saahibu hadha 'l-masjid huwa Rabbuna `azza wa jall araada lakum an yakoona masjidan li 'l-mu’mineen wa 'l-muslimeen. He wanted this place to be a masjid for a mu’min and Muslim. Allah (swt) created, khalaqas samawati wal araadeen, created this universe and He made this universe that He owns, under His order. And He made it pure, as He said (in Holy Qur’an), He made the Earth pure that you can pray wherever you like. It means this universe is pure and wherever you direct your face, Allah (swt) will answer you.
Ya ayyuhal Muslimoon! Ayyuhal Muslimoon! Itaqulaha wa 'aateeoo, wadrifood-dumu fid-dunya wa la tudrifuha fil Akhirah. Da‘maatun waheedatun fid-dunya bi-mahabatillah tunajeekum min-adhaabillah.
O Muslims! This dunya is ending and Akhirah is coming. Make tears in your eyes. One tear in your eye in dunya will save you in Akhirah.
Sayyidur-rasool, Sayyiduna Muhammad (s). (Mawlana stands.) …Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Salloo`ala an-Nabi! (Response from crowd, Allahumma salli `alayh!) (Mawlana sits.) An-Naabiu (s) yastahibu fee kulli mahfil an’ nuwaqfi bi ihtiraamin wa ijlaal wa nusalli `alayhi wa yaqifoona mina 'l-azzali ila 'l-abad. It is his right that all Muslims around the world stand up always and praise Sayyidina Muhammad (s), from pre-Eternal to Eternal. But unfortunately we lost that, we lost it, we lost that love to Prophet (s). I am not here to judge you, it might be that I have to judge myself. I am lower than you, and you are higher than me. Why? Because you are coming to listen and I am coming to speak. Speakers are arrogant, speakers….(sound cuts) ..you are humble because you are listening and you are not claiming you are something…(sound cuts)… May Allah (swt) take that arrogance away.
Ayyuha 'l-Muslimoon! Afshoo as-salaam wa at`imu 't-ta’aam wa qoomoo bi 'l-laylu w 'an-naasu niyaam.
O Muslims! Say as-salaamu `alaykum to each other when you see each other, give food to homeless people, give food to everyone as Prophet (s) said in this authentic hadith: Afshoo as-salaam , say, as-salaamu `alaykum. By saying as-salaamu `alaykum to each other Allah (swt) will be happy with you. Allah (swt) said to the Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) said to us, Afshoo as-salaam, it means keep saying as-salaamu `alaykum. And who is the one that deserves all the time, day and night, to say, as-salaamu `alayka Yaa rasoolAllah? It is Sayyidina Muhammad `alayhee afdalas salaatu was salaam! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhmmadan Rasoolullah!
Afshoo as-salaam, when we say, as-salaamu `alaykum, it means we are accepting each other. If he is saved (holds Shaykh Mustafa’s hand) in the Day of Judgment, he will save me with him. If I am saved, I save him with me, and think about everyone when you say, as-salaamu `alaykum, it means if you are saved, you will save everyone with you.
In at-tahiyaat when we are praying, our prayer is not accepted if we don’t say, as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan Nabi, and not only that, (we must say,) wa rahmatullahi ta’ala wa barakaatuh. You have to say; “Salaam to you yaa Muhammad (s), and rahmatullah laka yaa Rasoolullah, and Allah sends His mercy on you, O Prophet.” Then we say, As-salaamu `alayna wa’ala ibdilahis saliheen, “Salaam to us and to everyone.” You know what happens when we say, As-salamu `alayna, who is `alayna? `Alayna is plural not singular; it means as-salaamu `ala kulli musalli, alladheena yusalloon, to whoever is praying our salaam will reach without us knowing. Allah (swt) makes it to reach every Muslim when we say, As-salaamu `alayna wa `ala `ibadillahi 's-saliheen,` ibaadillahi 's-saaliheen, are few. It means, “Yaa Rabbee! We are sending salaam to Your beloved one, Sayyidina Muhammad `alayhi afdalas salaatu wa 's-salaam. (Mawlana stands.) We are sending love and salaam to Sayyidina Muhammad (s), we are sending salaam to ourselves, to all Muslims and to all those who are sincere.”
As-salaamu `alayka Yaa rasoolullah! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Habeebullah! As-salaamu `alayka yaa man ikhtarahul-Lah! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Taahir! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Mahi! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Haashir! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Aba al-Batul! As-salaamu `alayka Yaa Rasool al-Malaahim! As-salaamu `alayna wa ala `ibadilahis saliheen! Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasooluh! `alayha nahya wa `alayha namuut wa `alayha munka-Llah! (Crowd repeats.)
We are sending that salaam to the Prophet (s). Do you think it reached or didn’t reach? Of course it reached the Prophet (s)!!! As-salaamu `alayna is plural, so it means we are including everyone. When you include everyone, will Allah (swt) not include them? Of course Allah (swt) will include them! So as if we are saying to everyone, as-salaamu `alaykum by hand, and they are saying to us by hand, and that is why on the Day of Judgment, when we say, Yaa rasoolullah... Sahabah used to run around Prophet (s) and come another time, next salaam then they go, and they come another time to make salaam. They go and (say) another time because when you say salaam, Prophet sends them salaam. Prophet’s salaam is not like our salaam, it is a heavenly salaam, a salaam that can purify us from all sins. That is why Allah (swt) ordered us to make salawaat on Prophet (s). Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi!
Look at all these lights. How many lamps are here? Might be 100, 200 bulbs? Every one is shining. Is it correct or not? Every lamp is shining but the electricity source is one. But every lamp is different, might be this one is 100 watts, the other one 200 watts, the other one 50 watts, the other one 10 watts; it is different, but they are all shining because of that original source that gives everyone light. Salaam is coming from one source. Allah (swt) said in the Holy Qur’an:
Yaa ayyuha ‘l-ladheena aamanu Salloo`alayhi wa sallimu tasleema.
Send salawaat and send salaams to Muhammad (s).
It means that light is coming to the Prophet (s). Inallaha wa mala`ikatahu yusaluna `ala an-Nabi, that light from Allah and His Prophet is coming, and salaat wa salaam to Sayyidina Muhammad (s). When we do salaat wa ‘salaam to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) we get that light in our hearts. Our hearts will illuminate like a lamp. If we have a strong heart, spiritual heart, purified heart, clean heart, we might get 1000 watts. We might have a spotlight like in a stadium light, or if we are weak in our belief, it will be like a night light. So keep your heart like a stadium light, don’t keep it like a night light.
That’s why as much as you make salawaat, you receive light to your heart. If we don’t do salawaat then our heart is dark. Your heart is getting that light and that light is let out on the Day of Judgment to be released, you will be like stars on a dark night shining, everyone is shining like a star, mu’mins, believers, pious sincere servants of Allah (swt) that do salawaat on Prophet (s). They are going to be stars in darkness shining, and everyone is going to see that and say, “These are the believers, these are the ones that supported Sayyidina Muhammad (s).”
(Mawlana stands.) O Muslims!! Support Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and support his religion!! Say, Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar kabeera w 'alhamdulillahi katheera wa subhaanAllah wa bi-hamdihi bukratan wa aseela. Always you must be supporter of Ahlu 'l-Haqq! You must be supporters of Ahlul Haqq! Ahlul Haqq are the lovers of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Allahumma sallu’ ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi! Allahumma Salloo`ala an-Nabi!
O Muslims, we are under obligation, it is fard al-‘ayn and fard al-wajib, it is an obligation to make salawaat on Prophet (s) in every second of our life, but we are not doing it. Because Allah (swt) ordered us to do it by saying ... in every breath we are breathing, must be with salawaat. With every breath we are giving out, must be with salawaat. Why? Because Allah (swt) said, Inallaha wa mala`eekatuhu, “Allah and His angels, yusaloon (are praising and making salawaat continuously).” Allah is sending salawaat continuously, without stopping, from Bahr ul-Qudra, the Ocean of Power, sending to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) every moment salawaat. Allahumma salli `alayh! Salawaat, salawaat.
(Mawlana stands.) Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi, Yaa Sayyidi, Yaa rasoolullah! Yaa Rahmatal lil’alameen, bi shahaadati ahlil-Llah wa bi 'sh-shahaadati-Llah! Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasoolullah `alayha nahyaa wa `alayhaa namoot wa `alayhaa nalqallaah.
Shaytan is not happy! He is angry now for sure, because you are doing salawaat on his enemy. He thinks his enemy is Sayyidina Muhammad `alayhaa afdalatu was ‘salaam. Yes, Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is his enemy. (Mawlana stands.) Sayyidina Muhammad is after Shaytan! Sayyidina Muhammad is after Shaytan! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! (Mawlana sits.)
Shaytan is an enemy for us, the hidden enemy. The only way that we can cut his neck is by salawaat. When he saw that light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) on the forehead of Adam (a), Shaytan was jealous. When he knew that Allah promised to give to Prophet (s) in Maqam al-Mahmood, when he saw that Maqam al-Mahmood going to Prophet (s) and not to him, Shaytan was jealous. That is why Prophet (s) said, “After azaan ask Allah for me Maqaam al-Mahmood.” Allahumma rabba hadhidhi da`wata at- ta’ama wa 's-salaata-l-qaa'ima aatee Sayyidina Muhammadani 'l-waseelata wa 'l-fadeelata wa 'd-darajatar-rafee`a waba`th-hu yaa Rabbee al-maqaam al-mahmood alladhee wa`adtahu innaka laa tukhlifu 'l-mee`aad.
When Shaytan knew the Maqam al-Mahmood is going to Prophet (s), he became jealous. He was after Adam (a) to bring him down to Earth. He was our enemy!! Open your eyes!! There are hidden enemies from Shaytan and there are human shaytans! You have to be careful!! There are human shaytans that don’t like Muslims, they don’t like mu’mins, and they don’t like sincere people. They are after us, so we have to be careful, we have to open our eyes, we have to show them that Islam is the religion of love and mercy, the religion of moderation, and the religion that denounces terrorism!!!
In ad-deena ‘indala-hil Islam, “Religion to Allah is Islam.” We have to show that to them. It means jealousy comes from Shaytan. If someone is jealous from a mu’min because he sees that a mu’min is good, he wants to make himself higher, that arrogance comes, “Why do people like this one, and they don’t like me?” It begins fitna. Don’t get jealous from each other because jealousy is from Shaytan. He got jealous from Adam (a) and he made him to eat fruit from the forbidden tree. Jealously might take us as mu’mins and Muslims to fall in the trap of Shaytan. That is why Allah (swt) revealed to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) Surah al-Falaq (Surah 113).
(Mawlana stands.) Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! (Crowd responds.) Yaa Sayyidi, Yaa rasoolullah! Yaa Habeebullah! A`eeynoonaa Yaa rasoolAllah! Allah (swt) revealed Surah al-Falaq, and at the end it says, Wa min sharri haasidin idha hasad, “(Protect me) And from the evil of the envier when he envies,” because when someone gets jealous or envious of someone else, for sure you will be affected.
Afshu 's-salaam wa at`imu 't-ta`am. It means, “O Muslims! Feel with each other. Make relationships, don’t hate each other, don’t be against each other,” like some people see a Muslim’s success and they hate him. They try to make fitna for him. So by giving food you make familiarity. At`imu 't-ta`am; not only physical food, but spiritual food. Spiritual food is as important as normal physical food. Spiritual food is for the soul and the heart; physical food is for the body. If you give, like in this majlis adh-dhikr, that is spiritual food and Sayyidina Muhammad (s) mentioned:
(Mawlana stands.) Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa 'l-` izzatu-lillah wa li rasoolillah, wa 'l- mu’mineen! Allahumma aj`al al-kuffaara Yaa Rabbana, Yaa Allah hataban li naari jahannam ayy al-kufru feenaa. That hatred, that kufr within us, that we are not submitting yet to Allah (swt), may Allah (swt) throw it away from our bodies and make us clean by saying, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, wa lillahi ‘l-hamd!
That kufr… what you do when you eat food, what you do after food next day? You go to the toilet, to make wudu, it means you take all the vitamins of the food and all the poison goes away. Also spiritual food takes all the spiritual poison within our hearts—that hate, enmity, aggression, arrogance, pride, lies, deviation—it takes it away from our heart when we say, Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi, or when we say, Allahu akbar, or when we say, Bismillah ‘r-Rahmaani ‘r-Raheem, or when we say, Astaghfirullah, or when we say; whatever we say from Asmaa al-Husna (Allah’s Beautiful Names and Attributes), or from the Holy Qur'an, or from the holy ahadith, Allah (swt) takes all the bad sins that we are doing and purifies us and keeps us clean that day!
In the Hadith un-Nabi (s) about majlis adh-dhikr:
Lil-Lahi mala`ikatun yatoofoona fi 't-turuqaat yaltammisoona majaalis ad-dhikri, Allah sends angels to go through every district, in every street, in every mosque, looking for those who are sitting in a majlis ash-dhikr, like this majlis. Angels will encircle above them, above them, above them, above them until they reach the heavens. It is narrated by Bukhari, yatoofoona fi 't-turuqaat. It means those angels are searching, moving in streets and searching home-by-home, and even if one person is sitting by himself doing dhikrullah or reading Holy Qu’ran or hadith, they will come and be with him, and they will be over, over, around him, around him, in circles and circles and circles up to Heaven. Even for one person, imagine for some group like this, 5,000 people, 3,000 people, 2,000 people. Yadullahi ma`al jama`at, Allah’s Hand is with the jama’ah and when you pray with jama’ah, your prayer is multiplied ten times more, 27 times more or 700 times more, when you make a hasanaat. So what do you think about all these people? If you add all their rewards together you have to multiply it and it will be given to everyone of us in this association!
When the Prophet (s) says, “They will become like circles until heavens,” it means they have to go through all this universe to reach Heaven, it means how many circles they are doing? It means how many angels Allah is creating every moment to encompass all these people up to heavens? Look at this group here, if angels come here to encompass all of us according to our number, might be 3,000-4,000 people? Whatever number of people there are, it means you need a circle of 3,000-4,000 angels for one circle, second circle 3,000-4,000 angels, third circle, fourth circle, fifth circle, hundredth circle…how many billions of circles you are going to have filled with angels in order to reach heavens, because it is beyond the universe? It is beyond this galaxy. This galaxy has 80 billion stars!! They found thousands of galaxies. In every galaxy Allah knows how many billions of stars there are. It means angels in every sitting, and if we sit like this every day, every day new angels will be created, encompassing us, reaching all the way in the heavens. That salawaat, istighfear, tasbeeh, etc. will be written for us, for these people, so just imagine!
That is why coming to majlis adh-dhikr like this, coming to it is a huge reward for us because who brought you here? You think by yourself you came here? Allah (swt) sent you here, the love of Sayyidina Muhammad sent you here (Mawlana stands), the love of awliyaaullah sent you here! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! Allahumma salli `ala an-Nabi! (Crowd repeats.) Salloo`ala Muhammad! Salloo`ala Muhammad! Allahumma salli `ala Sayyidina Muhammad! Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, wa 'l-`izzatu lillah, wa li-Rasoolihi, wa li 'l-mu’mineen! (Mawlana sits.)
Allah brought them here, love of Sayyidina Muhammad brought them here, love of awliyaaullah brought them here, and love of Islam brought them here. Allah (swt) said, Wa lain-shakartum la-azeedanakum - If you thank Me, I give you more and more and more and more,” and bring you more, and reward you more and keep you in the presence of prophets more.” At`imu 't-ta`am, give that spiritual food as physical food. If you give physical food, you make relationships and if you give spiritual food like from this association, you make them to feel the love of Allah (swt), the love of His Prophet (s) and love of His awliyaa (q).
أيها الناس ، أطعموا الطعام ، وأفشوا السلام ، وصلوا الأرحام ، وصلّوا بالليل والناس نيام ، تدخلوا الجنة بسلام
ayyuha 'n-naasu at`amoo't-ta`am wa afshoo 's-salaam, wa salloo bi 'l-layli wa 'n-naasu niyaam, tadkhuloo 'l-jannata bi 's-salaam.
Afshasoo 's-salaam, it means make salaam between each other; know each other. When you know each other, invite each other to your home, give food, purify yourself. So make salaam, purify yourself, then we come to the third one, Wa salloo bi'l-layli w 'an-naasu niyaam - and pray during the night when people are sleeping.
It means, “When you are ready now come to Me.” Prophet (s) is saying in that hadith, Wa salloo bi'l-layli w 'an-naasu niyaam,, “Come to Me and pray to Allah (swt), come to My door, to the door of the Divine Presence, the door of Allah (swt), come and pray there, there you are going to be granted the reality in your heart.” Allah (swt) is saying, “When people are wasting their time sleeping, you are doing your prayers between My Hands.”
O Muslims of this country! I went all around the world, and the best Muslims are you! You fill up the masaajid, you don’t keep the masjid empty. You, mashaa-Allah, are so good-hearted. May Allah (swt) grant you the best! And the secret, there must be something in Indonesia, why people are so attracted to the love of the Prophet (s) and to the love of Islam, to love of Qur’an, and to love of Allah (swt). There must be something! I know from my shaykhs giving me that reality, that information through my heart, that you are related somehow to the Prophet (s), either by marriage or by father or mother, that you are the centers of Sayyidina Muhammad `alayhi afdala 's-salaatu wa 's-salaam. (Mawlana stands.) Salloo`alayh! (Crowd repeats.) Salloo`alayh! Salloo`ala an-Nabi!
Because Islam came to this country mostly from `Adan (Aden), from Hadramawt from Yemeni people, and most of them are Ahlu 'l-Bayt. So all of you are part of that because they have their children, their grandchildren, great-grand children, marriages from different regions with each other. So this secret of Prophet (s), from the center is spreading in this country. That drop that you have in your blood, might be one drop of that blood of Prophet (s) in the heart of people will attract them and bring them to such associations and such meetings. That’s why you see hundreds of thousands, when we go to Istiqlaal Mosque, on Friday or in majlis adh-dhikr, you will find hundreds of thousands attending. I never saw in my life something like what I saw here in Indonesia. May Allah bless you all!
We are Ahlu 's-Sunnah wa 'l-Jama`ah. I am a descendant of the Prophet (s), Hassani and Hussayni. No one has rights to put any doubts in my relation to Prophet (s). No one has the rights to say if we are real Muslims or deviated Muslims. We are strong lovers of the Prophet (s) and we do not accept anyone to say one word whenever we do extra salawaat and extra nafl! We can do nafl at any time we like, and we can do salawaat at anytime we like!!! If someone does not like that, let them go to Hell, we don’t care!!! Some people think that, “Oh, too much salawaat on Prophet (s) is not acceptable; this is kufr, too much.” Some people say too much nafl not accepted, that it is not written. You are stupid! Did you not hear the hadith of Sayyida Ayesha (r), “Yaa rasoolullah, Allah (swt) has forgiven you from all your sins past and future, (although there is no sin on Prophet [s] but for us to learn), and you are praying until your feet are swollen.” Prophet (s) said, “Don’t you want me to be a thankful servant, alaa akoonu `abdan shukoora?”
If you pray nafl as much as you like, no problem, even in every moment in your life praying nafl is okay, it is sunnah, and making salawaat is okay. We say shahadah, they say shahadah, we do five prayers, they do five prayers, we fast Ramadan with the country that we are living in, when they fast, we fast, when they break fast, we break fast, we give zakaat, they give zakaat, we make Hajj, they make Hajj. Okay, you will be safe, we are safe—there is no difference: we are Muslims. But if I do more nafl, no one has a right to ask me why! If we do whatever that we see is fit to praise Sayyidina Muhammad (s), no one has a right to say no!
Salloo `ala an-Nabi! Salloo `ala an-Nabi! Salloo `ala an-Nabi!
We refuse anyone who uses our name or our pictures to establish recognition for himself or herself. If people use our name, we are not responsible. Don’t come and say we are responsible. It is not our responsibility to be always monitoring people who are using our name. Many people might use our name wrongly. We are not liable for that. We say it to those who are listening, and they know who I am speaking to: we are responsible for the books that have been published in the Indonesian language by the publishers, big publishers, Sirambi Publishers. These books we are responsible for: Encyclopedia of Islamic Doctrines and Belief, and the Guide Book on Tasawwuf and Approach of Armageddon. Other than those books, it's not our responsibility. It's your responsibility and the responsibility of the people who wrote these books, who did wrongly, expressed themselves and quoted us wrongly. We denounce that in public and we say we have nothing to do with it. These books that have been written by some amateur, not by a professional, and they don’t know anything about Islam. They used some words from the Internet without knowing what they are doing. They have to go and burn these books in public and we are not responsible except for our books that have been translated to Bahasa by Sirambi: Encyclopedia of Islamic Belief, Approach of Armageddon, and the Guide Book.
I am saying to Majlis Ugama: any suhbah we didn’t give any permission to any individual to translate, to speak on our behalf, no one has that right and no one has the right to quote me or quote Mawlana Shaykh, NO WAY! Anyone who does that is responsible for what he did, it’s not our responsibility and I denounce such work, I do not accept such books, they have to throw them and burn them and I am saying it in public so they can hear it! I know there are some people from themselves, they are here in this meeting tonight. What is the problem? It's Shaytan who wants to make fitna. Just now we spoke about Shaytan. Shaytan wants to make fitna. Don’t let Shaytan to enter between Muslims.
May Allah (swt) forgive us! May Allah (swt) bless us! (Mawlana stands.)
