A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. This month is the month of the Prophet (s), so anything you do, dedicate it to Sayyidina Muhammad (s).

اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد قد ضاقت حيلتي أدركني يا رسول الله

Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin qad daaqat heelatee. Adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah!

O Allah! Raise our Master Muhammad. I can't find my way out of this most terrible situation, get me out! Reach me, O Rasoolullah! [three times]

[Khatm Khawajagan.]

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان فى الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن سبحان الله و بحمده سبحان الله العظيم

There are two words that are very easy to say, yet very heavy on the Scale, most beloved to The Merciful, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Why did Allah (swt) ask His Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad (s) for his Ummah and for everyone, to repent? If Allah wanted everyone to go to Hellfire, He would not have recommended people repent. Out of love to Ummat ar-Rasool and to Prophet (s), Allah said in many places in Holy Qur'an and Holy Hadith about istighfaar. If it is not recommended, then Allah does not need to say it! But Allah urged us to make salawaat on the Prophet (s) in order to take our sins away.

Someone might ask why did Allah create Creation when they will sin? Many times I heard Grandshaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q), may Allah bless his soul, say that Allah (swt) likes humility from His servant, and humility does not come cheap, it is difficult to humble yourself. But Allah likes for us as His servants to show `ajz, helplessness, that we cannot do anything, that we are helpless, weak. He is The Creator: He can do anything by Kun fayakoon, everything is under His orders; we are nothing.

In order to raise us up, He created istighfaar and recommended it to everyone, from Sayyidina Adam (a) all the way up. Sayyidina Adam (a) was asked to repent as Allah likes for His `abd to come to Him and ask forgiveness or else he would not have put it. And the best istighfaar is the one in which the Prophet (s) is part of it, because when you have someone very close to your heart, if they do something wrong you forgive them. What do you think of Prophet (s), whose Ummah (except Awliyaullah) struggle to not sin? Allah designated istighfaar for them, through the Best One that He created, about whom Allah said:

وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ

And We raised up your remembrance. (Surat al-Sharh, 94:2)

“Yaa Muhammad! I made everyone remember you!” We cannot end our prayer without reciting Shahadah and salawaat; salawaat was added to honor the Prophet (s)! Allah raised him so high that He put everything in his hands: Allah (swt) will judge everyone through His Prophet (s). We are in the month in which Allah gave Prophet (s) the power, where He said, Rajab shahrullah, “Rajab is the month of Allah,” and in that month He takes care of His servants in the way He likes.

رجب شهر الله، وشعبان شهري، ورمضان شهر أمتي

Rajab is Allah's month, Sha`baan is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah.

(Abul-Fath ibn Abi Fawaris in his `Amalee from al-Hasan)

Sayyidina Muhammad (s) continued the Hadith: wa Sha`baanu shahree, “And Sha`baan is my month,” whicih means he is responsible for anything that happens in that month and he will not allow Ummat an-Nabi (s) to be lost. He gave us many ways for our sins to be forgiven, and the best way is by making salawaat on Prophet (s). No one is allowed to harm the Ummah except by permission of the Prophet (s). Allah gives permission to the Prophet (s) who, in turn, gives permission to angels.

During Ascension to the Divine Presence with Sayyidina Muhammad (s), Sayyidina Jibreel (a) reached a level where he was not able to continue, because no one is a partner to Prophet (s): as an `abd, he is the Best One. Allah has no partner as The Creator and the Prophet (s) has no partner as His servant. He is the support of the Ummah. Allah gave him silah, weapons, against Iblees and his group to fight them in order to close the door between him and the Ummah of Prophet (s). That is why when the Prophet (s) said, “Sha`baan is my month,” all Prophets, Awliyaullah and angels knew that in this month no one can interfere in the situation of the Ummah except by permission of the Prophet (s).

Therefore, make sure to increase your prayers and salawaat on Prophet (s) especially in this holy month. In this month, increase your salawaat on Prophet Muhammad (s). Also, one of the best du`as made in challenging times over centuries was given by Prophet (s) to Awliyaullah through their visions, dreams and spiritual connections (Sunnah). For remedy, read it daily:

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ قَدْ ضَاقَتْ حِيلَتِي أَدْرِكْنِي يَا رَسُولَ الله

Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad qad daaqat heelatee adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah!

O Allah, raise our Master Muhammad. I can't find my way out of this most terrible situation, get me out! Adriknee, reach me, yaa Rasoolullah!

Do you think he (s) does not see, remember and support us when we say this? O Allah, salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad, praise Prophet (s), raise him higher and higher! Qad daaqat heelatee, “My situation is very difficult,” Adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah! “Reach me, yaa Rasoolullah!” He will reach, he is not sitting and playing, he is sitting and responding to His Ummah as he is the Best One! Allah raised His name with His Name and raised him high. No one can touch anything related to the Prophet (s), even angels are afraid and Allah would not be happy if they touched anything without the permission of Prophet (s), which is why Allah (swt) said:

إنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. (Surat al-'Ahzaab, 33:56)

Allah is giving His angels a booster for salawaat on Prophet (s) and indicating that no one can reach his level, where Allah and His angels are raising his shaan, status, higher and higher. Our salawaat does not raise the status of the Prophet (s), Allah already did that with this verse. So say, “Qad daaqat heelatee! There is no other way but to come to your door, yaa Rasoolullah! There is no other door! Through you we reach Allah (swt). Qad daaqat heelatee, I am in a difficult situation, get me out of it! Adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah! Reach me, yaa Muhammad (s)!” The Prophet (s) will reach. If we contemplate on it and not only read it, although reading is alright, but it is better to contemplate when you are reciting it. Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad qad daaqat heelatee adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah! What do we need better than that? Awliyaullah were and still are using this recitation that they were given by the Prophet (s) through their visions, dreams and spiritual connections. Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad qad daaqat heelatee adriknee, yaa Rasoolullah!

We leave our matters and problems in every month, but especially in this month of Sha`baan, Prophet (s) is waiting for his Ummah to approach and ask him, “Our situation is very difficult! Reach us, yaa Rasoolullah!” Prophet (s) will not leave us, Allah gave him that. It is not shirk, and those who say it is do not understand Prophet’s level: wa rafa`ana laka dhikrak, “We raised him high.” Allah did not say that in Holy Qur'an to anyone except Prophet (s): “We are raising you for people to mention and remember you!”

We cannot even end our prayers without Shahadah and Salawaat `ala ‘n-Nabi (s) in salawaat al-Ibrahimiyyah. is it not? If we don't read them our prayer is voided, it will be hanging, not raised to the Divine Presence, it will still be connected to Earth. If you want it to be released from Earth, read the Shahadah and then salawaat on the Prophet (s). The prayer cannot be finished and will not be accepted without the name of the Prophet (s) being mentioned.

What honor Allah gave to Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! Yaa Sayyidi, yaa Rasoolullah! Reach us, yaa Rasoolullah! Dress us from what Allah (swt) dressed you. We are at your door, at your threshold! We are sinners, we are weak, we are everything bad, yes, but you are the Best One, whom Allah loves. Send us from that love to Ummat an-Nabi (s), to the people of Haqq, and keep us together, united inshaa-Allah.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, wa salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.
