Suhbah at Centre for Spirituality & Cultural Advancement (CSCA)
(Suhbah in progress.) What is different is that Allah (swt) made this a special month in order to forgive the Ummah, which is why He said:
رجب شهر الله، وشعبان شهري، ورمضان شهر أمتي
Rajab is Allah's month, Sha`baan is my month and Ramadan is the month of my Ummah.
(Abul-Fath ibn Abi Fawaris in his `Amalee from al-Hasan)
We are from the Ummat an-Nabi (s).
Inshaa-Allah we will begin with dhikrullah and end before Maghrib. People might be asking, “What happened that you were away two months,” and that is why we say, there is a beginning and an end. Every sickness has a beginning and an end, and when the end of it comes, Allah will either send the patient to Paradise or give him more life. We have no power, no energy: Allah sends the power and the energy.
Sayyidina Muhammad, `alayhi afdalu ‘s-salaatu wa ‘s-salaam rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen, was sent as a rahmah, mercy, whom Allah put to help the Ummah clear their sins. Ramadan takes away sins, but there are people who don’t fast and, therefore, they must struggle in the Right Way to be written from the Ahl al-Jannah, the People of Paradise, who are Ahl ar-Ramadan.
Awliyaullah say that even one letter from the Holy Qur’an is enough to clean the whole world from sins! It is a special letter Allah (swt) gave to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and He gave us to read the Holy Qur’an. Every letter of the Holy Qur’an is heavier (on the Heavenly Scale) than all the hasanaat (goodness) we did on this Earth! That is why we recommend reciting the Holy Qur’an or dhikrullah.
