أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ
Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)
It is very dangerous in these days to allow your children with Instagram and Facebook. It is not feasible for the children to have a lot of unknown friends and unknown sharing. You don’t know where their messages or pictures end up. This is an advice before dhikrullah, a small advice. You are spoiling your young children, who are not adults, by giving them telephones in their hands from which they can access everything. And when you say to them, “Be careful”, they say “Oh, we are just checking.”
This is an advice. I am seeing a lot of people complaining about what to do with their kids. The kids’ pictures are roaming around the world. So we have to be careful. Don’t listen to the children. Don’t say, “Oh never mind, their friends and everyone in school has it and carries a phone.” No, that’s not an excuse. When your child falls into a problem then you come for du`a, “Pray for him or her please.” You are putting your children into fire and then you are saying, “Come out from the fire.” So be careful. If they are adults it’s okay, they can manage. If they are young you have to be very careful.
Bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
