Suhbah after Khatm
Allahuma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad hattaa yardaa Sayyidina Muhammad.
A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.
Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,
nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-sulook, lillahi ta`alaa fee haadha 'l-masjid.
Who is the... dastoor yaa Sayyidee, madad. Who is the one who has been cursed by Allah (swt)? [Iblees.] Very good, good answer. Here we are all students, we want to learn so we are all equal, we are not someone higher than the other, no. So the most cursed one is Iblees, `alayhi la`anatullah, the curse of Allah is upon him!
The Prophet (s) used to tell humanity, “Be careful from la`nat, curse,” and he (s) used to say, “Be careful from your father, if he is not happy with you and curses you.” This is one of the biggest sins. If your father or your mother are not happy with you, always ask for their ridaa, their pleasure, don't come against their pleasure.
Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur'an, falaa taqu’l-lahumaa uffin, “Say not to them (your parents) a word of contempt.”
Wa qadaa rabbuka alaa ta`budoo illa iyyaahu wa bi ’l-waalidayni ihsaanan, immaa yablughanna `indaka al-kibara ahaduhumaa aw kilaahumaa falaa taqu’l-lahumaa uffin wa laa tanharhumaa waqu’l-lahumaa qawlan kareema.
Allah has decreed not to worship anyone except Me and with your mother and father to be nice with them. Whether one or both of them attain old age in their life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. (Surat al-’Israa, 17:23)
Allah is warning us: don't say to both of them, lahumaa--both of them, father and mother--don't say to them, "uffin". Uff doesn't mean rejection or complaining on what they ask you to do, it means to say “uff!” meaning, “It’s too much.” What do people say in western countries. [Aaah.] No, they say in their hearts with 's' (s---), but some of them, wa la taqul lahumaa uffin. It means don’t raise your voice to anything they say. So keep quiet and if they say more, keep quiet, and if they still say more, keep quiet and finally they will stop. What more they will do? If they throw you from the door, come from the window! So the worst sin is la`na, that sin is a big forbidden and that sin will hit you with a curse, so to avoid curse avoid the ma`siyya, the sin that becomes a great sin.
So today ask anyone. Everyone has children, mother and father, and they don't go along with their children and children don't go along with parents. Parents shout, children shout back and the house is on fire. That is why sins open the door of curses. When the sins are growing slowly, slowly, as you are young and you begin to see people doing sins and say, “Why not me? They are doing it, let me do it!” and so they fall in trap of Shaytan and Shaytan catches them. They think they can find their own life. They put in their minds to say, “You are independent so go do what you like.” Even children...
I see many parents of children, they are not in a public area, but in mosques, halls, institutes, and they see their children making problems but they keep quiet! If you say to them (the child), “Stop,” they (parents) say, “Leave them to their nature.” What nature? The nature you poisoned them with since childhood, to say they are independent? They are not independent, they are dependent because if anything happened they come to you! That is why sins make you to make more sins.
So the Prophet (s) said that there are a group of people for whom Allah's curse is on them, and Allah's curse in on whom? On Iblees. But now the Prophet (s), his curse is coming also:
وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
wa maa aataakumu’r-rasoola fakhudhoohu, wa maa nahaakun `anhu fantahoo w’attaqoo ’Llaha inn ’Allah shadeedu’l-`iqaab.
And whatsoever the messenger giveth you, take it. And whatsoever he forbiddeth, abstain (from it). And keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is stern in reprisal. (Surat al-Hashr, 59:7)
Now too many sins will make you fall under curse of the Prophet (s)!
I know a young person who is married and has children and always want to be independent, and is always fighting with the parents to be independent. This person's partner, when the partner went overseas, the other partner of the couple went and found someone on the Internet and went with that person, and filled all the body with tattoos! So what does the Prophet (s) say? As soon as you begin to follow sin after sin, that curse will begin to come on you slowly, slowly.
The first thing you do is pierce your ears imitating the women, men pierce their ears, and the Prophet (s) said when men imitate the women in their dress and piercing the nose and so on, then expect the Last Day. So now what do we see? Men resembling women by piercing, and women resembling men in their dress. So what the Prophet (s) said?
The Prophet (s) cursed the one who connects the hair, and the one whose hair has been extended and the lady or man who does tattoos and the one who gets tattoos . (an-Nisaa’ee)
First of all it is cursed, and even when you are driving and passing by a place that does tattoos, there is cursing coming there on the area around that store, because they are changing the Creation of Allah, they are changing the color of their skin. The only people saved from tattoos are Africans. What kind of tattoo, yellow or white? So Allah saved them, but they are piercing (and wearing) earrings.
So the Prophet (s) cursed al-waashima, the one who draws the tattoo; it is not allowed. Henna is okay, it is not tattoo, it goes away with water. And the mustawshima is cursed, the one who has tattooing done on his or her body, men or women, cursed by the Prophet (s),!
And he (s) cursed al-mustawsina, the one who changes her hair and puts an artificial wig or extends his or her hair to be longer. That is cursed, cursed! Do you understand who is cursed? To remind people back, it is Iblees! So as soon as cursed Iblees, the next one in level after Iblees is the tattooer, and the next is the one with tattoos on his or her body, and next is the one who extends their hair, and al-waasilah wa ’l-mustawsila, the one who connects the hair, and the one whose hair has been extended. So don't go to a barber shop or a beauty salon and ask for a hair extension, because any man or woman in a beauty salon who extends the hair, that is cursed and the whole area is cursed as that curse is coming down!
We have to be careful! Don't say, “O, this is too much!” This is teaching us in order not to do it. You don't know if it is not okay, but now you know so don't do it.
You even see men extend their hair or put a wig on their hair, a toupee. They resemble women and women resemble men, so we have to be careful.
I cannot say that, I think many people--it applies on you also--I will say the name (description), but not explain it. an-naamisa wa ’l-mutanaamisa, those who go to the dentist to file their teeth and refine them to make them thinner, allatee tushar asnam al-marrat tushabih as-sagheer fi ’s-sin, to make them look whiter and small, to look beautiful like young children. So any dentist that does that, don't go to them as the area is cursed!
To know how much we are under problems, it is not so easy. We are all the time speaking, “Mercy, mercy.” Okay, alhamdulillah, mercy, but sometime you eat salt because if you always eat candy your teeth go bad!
And Prophet (s) cursed the one who takes interest and the one who pays it (usury), which means interest ada`f muda`afa; for example, you lent them 100 and take back from them 200. If someone is very poor and has no food to feed his family and a man comes, saying, “I will give you money and if you don't pay it back, I will take your child.” Yes, that is how it is and it is still like this in Pakistan, in Lebanon, they kidnap your child. So the Prophet (s) cursed the one who takes usury and the one who gives it and the one who wrote the contract and the one who witnessed it. So don't witness a contract of someone as there might be something in it Allah doesn't like.
Don't say this is too much, that is what came.
And Prophet (s) cursed the muhallil and the muhallilaw, the one who is like a goat with two horns, the pimp. The one that is cursed, all of them are cursed but this one is more cursed, as when someone divorces his wife three times and the fourth time he cannot bring her back until someone else comes and marries her, and if he divorces her or she divorces him, then she can marry back her first husband. So what do they do? They bring someone from outside and give one-thousand of their money and say, “Stay with my wife in her room for one night.” That is the goat with two horns, because you divorce three times and then you cannot marry her again and so you hire a man to stay in her room with him (to consummate the marriage so she can again be divorced and remarry you). So you don't know what he will do in that room until morning and he might stay married to her!
And the Prophet (s) cursed the burglar, and the one who drinks wine and the one who serves it and the one who juices it to wine and the one who squeezes it and the one who sells it and the one who buys it. So he cursed the one who drinks the wine, prepares it, squeezes it, sells it, carries it and the one you carry it for: nine are cursed! That is Islam or you play!
قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
Qul bifadli Allaahi wa bi rahmatihi fa bi dhaalika fal-yafrahoo huwa khayrun mimmaa yajma`oon.
Say, "In the bounty of Allah and in His Mercy, in that let them rejoice.” That is better than the (wealth) they hoard. (Surat Yunus, 10:58)
We say, “O Allah! We are weak servants, but we have to avoid falling into these problems.”
And Prophet (s) cursed those who changed the borders of land they own to eat from the (land of the) neighbor.
Wa la`ana man la`ana waaliday. And he (s) cursed those who curse their parents, and to those who curse your parents, he cursed them because you are going to curse your parents and you are, therefore, a cause for your parents to be cursed!
And he (s) cursed those who create three-dimensional statues.
And he (s) cursed the gay people who do what the people of Sayyidina Lut did; Allah cursed them!
And he (s) cursed those who cursed their father and mother. And that will be enough for tonight; sleep on it and think on it. I was continuing but it is going tougher, so may Allah forgive us and bless us. This is to show that we are weak servants and helpless! May Allah bless us.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
Saturday inshaa-Allah we will speak about the ru'yat an-Nabi (s), what the Prophet (s) has seen, we will explain that according to hadith al-Bukhari. This what I mentioned is from al-Jawaab al-Kaafee li ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, a student of ibn Taymiyya.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
