Secret Knowledge About Angelic Powers

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

7 February 2011 Santiago, Chile

Book Signing of “Angels Unveiled”

Introduction by Jaime Hales, a respected Chilean author:

(translated from Spanish)

May God bless all the people present here and the ones who are with us from the Heavens. There is no man who, when he receives an honor, can ensure that he deserves it. There is no man who, when he receives an honor, has the right to say that he doesn’t deserve it. We are sitting here in front of you, receiving the honor to introduce the book, Angels Unveiled, by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani. When we are asked to introduce a book, we should speak about the book, but almost always we fall into the need to speak about our own experiences, maybe to try to share some secrets that have touched our soul. That is why I have been asking myself these days, “Why is it me, O my Lord, receiving this honor?” I feel the angels’ breath blowing in my surroundings to tell me, “It is not for your honor,” because it’s time that I should do what I am supposed to, and not keep waiting.

Angels have been a very common topic in my life and I have done TV programs about angels, also. My belief in God and my conviction about the existence and presence of angels in our lives is total and absolute. A long time ago, I believe it was in 1967, a Chilean Catholic scholar, Julio Felipe Izquierdo, was giving a conference about angels and demons, where he asked a very important question: what happened in our western society, that to speak about angels is something strange or esoteric? He said he was confident that we would override this; he didn’t know how, but he trusted that something would happen in the world that would make things change. A few years ago the conference was published as a book. Now it is a mandatory reading in specialized libraries and many editions have sold out, because faith has been reopening.

Spirits, in the last 60 years, have opened to accept the fundamentals of faith. And while many religions are in crisis and going backwards, there is no doubt that there is spirituality and the desire to build a world that is a reflection of the will of the one God, where human beings respect and love each other. They are making a most important place. Going back to the words of Shaykh Hisham, we believe that good will override the bad in the world. Because of that, representing our brotherhood, I say, adding myself to that, we hope for some specific and divine events that change the darkness of violence and the low point of morality at which many people have been living, that reduce in society the hunger and the fear, and that eliminate the source of conflict between human beings.

A few months ago, I published my book, Reborn, and I brought it with me to give as a gift to the shaykh. Some people told me I have an exaggerated optimism. When I read the book of Shaykh Hisham, whose words were in the media, I said, “I am not alone in this optimism.”

Let’s go to the book. First of all, we are under the work of an Arab writer and you can see this from the first line to the last line. With the beauty of the facts and metaphors, the rich descriptions and details, and the value of beauty and nature, I can tell that it is from the Arab culture. It is like the timeless book, 1001 Nights, with the descriptions of the environment and the dressings of the angels, the jewels that are mentioned constantly, not because of their economic value, but for their beauty: gold, diamonds, pearls, and rubies. And all of that is spreading from the live nature, and animals and plants.

I will read from it. “In absolute calm, golden stars glowed with the luminescence of pearls. And for each pearl 50,000 angels whirled in a lake of galaxies, making a heavenly sound that resembled the singing of one million birds together with a million bees.” Then, the next line is such an Arab paradox: “Everything was moving at the speed of light, but at the same time everything was silent and calm.” Music, colors and lights are the signs of miracles, but this writer is an Arab from the 21st century who speaks about galaxies and the speed of light and the greatness of the universe.

Second, this is a book from a Muslim writer and for that reason he is thinking about God, Who is One, Eternal, and the Knower of All Things. And we cannot forget that Arabic is the language of Islam. The book itself is an extraordinary worship of God, the Creator. The human being, certainly, and the angels are the main topics. In the preface it says: “Islam is a religion that cannot be understood without angels. The Arabic word for angels is mala’aik and it means “messenger.” According to the Islamic belief, God has assigned to His angels some sort of Divine messages. In Greek, the meaning of “angel” is “messenger.”

All the profound convictions of Islam are spread in a wonderful way with faith in God, which is difficult to find in common human beings. Angels, from his poetry that I humbly share, are the messengers and actors from extraordinary stories, some of them in the unseen and difficult to prove, and others are very concrete and realistic. Everything is related by the author with a deep certainty, giving precious material for each other’s development. Being an Arab and Muslim writer, he has been a very warm, generous and respectful writer with other ways and thoughts.

Some contemporary comparisons that have been with us for many centuries have tried to produce an image connecting Arabs and Muslims with intolerance. There is nothing farther from the truth. Among Muslims, as it happens among Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and any other religion, there are many intolerant fanatics. But for the Muslims, respect for each other is basic. Shaykh Hisham has told us the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, used to meet with the leaders of all religions, even those who did not believe in him. By doing that he tried to find a common ground and to avoid focusing on what divides us. He believes in giving a welcome to everyone and he never turned his back on anyone. That is why, with the Spanish and Arab Muslims, the Jewish and Christian religions had a space, even in their relevant positions. Their counterparts, the Christians in Spain, punished the exiles and eliminated the Muslims and Jews.

Lebanon has always been a place for interfaith relations. Shaykh Hisham said in an interview, “I have many good memories from my hometown and from my childhood until I reached university. We lived in a multi-cultural and multi-religious nation. People from different religions and backgrounds, Jewish, Christian, Muslims and atheists, sat together at the same table and we lived in peace, in an atmosphere of community, based on respect for each other.” Even after all the bloodshed, until today Lebanese people enjoy a multi-religious society. When the Palestinian land was ruled by Muslims, all the inheritors of the Jewish religion found protection and shelter there. May God give that respect back.

On this issue, I have to tell you something very touching. Although I had a Muslim grandfather, I also have parents and grandparents from Christian, Catholic, and Orthodox backgrounds. It was very touching to see in all the reading I did in this book the respectful way the author refers to Jesus and his mother, to the Gospels and to his disciples. The author says, quoting the Holy Qur’an:

فَنَادَتْهُ الْمَلآئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي الْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ اللّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَـى مُصَدِّقًا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ

And the angels called him when he was standing and praying in the temple, “God has announced to you the good news of a son whose name is John, who comes to confirm the word of God. He will be pure and noble, a just prophet.” (Aali `Imraan, 3:39)

And after this reference to the Qur’an, the author states, “The angels were with Zakariyya, coming as messengers and interrupting his prayers to bring him good heavenly news. They told him that his wife would carry a child, that he would be in the company of the just and that he would be a prophet. And the messenger angels appeared in front of Zakariyya, under a purple light, showing him that they were the guardians of his baby, John, who would guide God’s servants to the right path.”

About Maria, the mother of Jesus, I prefer to read instead of summarizing. “The messenger angels raised Mary from childhood to maturity, without leaving their sanctuary except to get water from a certain well. One day when she was there, she saw a big cloud glowing with colors and lights, and she was afraid. Her two guardians appeared and told her, ‘This is a great moment; you will carry a son and he will be the messiah for this world.’” And he continues, “When Mary started to feel the effects from the pregnancy, a neighbor of Joseph told her, ‘O Maria, have you ever seen a crop grow without seeds?’ Immediately, the guardians appeared and opened for her a very wide knowledge. She was surrounded by a very large number of angels, blessing and praising and telling her to respond, ‘Didn’t God make crops without seeds when He created the Earth?’”

The author of this book is a Sufi. It is the choice of Muslims and many others; even Christians and other believers of God want it. He told us in our interview that Sufism could be explained as a state of being, a universal call to unite people with an aim to raise us in spiritually, to perfect our character and to bring joy in our lives. It shows us how we get rid of the void and the lack of perspective. This is a complete book with a lot of information, especially about the characters and the organization of the angels. The first thing he does is explain to us who the angels are and then he unveils spiritual things of the past, present, and future.

Now I offer to you the most direct part of the book. “Angels are the hope for humanity. They are the source of light and energy from the Creation, they are the light for every secret, they are the water for every desert, the waves of every ocean, the spring of every river and the crystal of every diamond.” It is true about the angels that many of them have been created to serve human beings, with a specific duty to teach us and guide us to the wisdom of The One God.

Almost every day we feel the presence of angels, and I know from a lot of extraordinary cases that this has happened. They are powerful manifestations that break the structures of the common man, that make him discover new ways of existence. Cases like those have been related in the past and in the present. In the past, from the creation itself, and the wonderful Night Journey of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from Mecca to Jerusalem with Archangel Gabriel and riding Buraq, the divine horse with a human face, escorted by thousands of angels. Presently, cases that have been witnessed by the author himself or were related by people in his past. There are not many of those cases, but they are very special situations related with the details of his own pen and with unique dedication.

This book teaches and entertains; it makes us enjoy the sweet sensuality of the world with the splendid eloquence of its descriptions and contents. It gives so much, but it leaves us knowing there is much more we have to learn. This book can strengthen our faith and open us up to the help of angels. Also, it humbles us to know that angels help us receive, many times from the little ones, the weak ones, and the ignorant ones. Shaykh Hisham tells us the Sufis teach spiritual enlightenment is not only for individuals, but for humanity as a whole.

The Sufis teach you to accept everyone, to not criticize anyone except yourself, and to seek the source of peace and reality within you. This is what I am lacking. To reach that we need to “take some time off,” in the words of Shaykh Hisham. This means to give us the opportunity to look within ourselves and at our relationships with others, to be on the threshold of God and His angels, and to look into ourselves to overcome negativity, and to let the good flow from us. He has also told us we should take some time for this inner reflection, even if ten minutes a day. If we want to feel balance and connect to our angels, they are here to help us with that. Silence is important. Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him, was hidden from his enemies for three days (...). And for us, now is a time to stay quiet and listen to our master.

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani:

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. I am greeting you with the greeting of the reality and love of Islam, which is the core and heart of Islam, Sufism, as in every religion there are Sufis.

I would like to thank you very much, Professor Maestro Jaime. Really, I don't know what to say; what he said touched my heart and words are limited to thank him. The way he expalined it shows his heart is above understanding; it is at a higher level of intelligence. This needs someone that is connected to angelic powers.

I don't know if we have to explain, are there angels or are there no angels? I think everyone believes there are angels, because if we believe there are devils and we see evil on Earth, then there must be angels on the other side: angels from human beings and angels from heavenly sources.

I wrote the book at the request of some publishers in America, who said that there is no book about angels from a Muslim and Sufi perspective, and people don't know if angels exist in Sufism or Islamic belief, so they urged me to write a book on that issue. And we know in different religions and beliefs angels do exist, because we have many experiences with angels. From signs around us, we understand that there is a power we cannot control, but someone else is controlling it.

I mentioned this last time when we met, here or in Buenos Aires: everything, every element, has a movement. There is nothing in this universe that has no movement. Who is “The One,” and with what power are these movements in ourselves happening?

Maestro was speaking; what was moving there? His vocal chords are moving. How they are moving? How are they creating the sound to give us words? It is something unbelievable, something that has power behind it. How are we hearing what we hear now? How is it moving? Is it moving by itself? Sound moves, and if you use this microphone you hear 100 km away. Use a power bigger than this and they can hear in China on the other side of the world, by the movement of the sound. That means sound never ends.

Here is a simple example. To run cars you need fuel, petrol. How is the Earth turning for millions of years? What fuel makes it turn? Who is moving the Earth, and the Moon around the Earth, and Earth around the Sun? Who puts stars in the sky? Let us go with the Big Bang Theory. They say in a moment there was a grand explosion and everything was in its place. One question: if we make a glass completely empty and create an anti-gravity vacuum, if you take a ball and push it, what will happen? It will never stop, forever. As long as there is that vacuum it will move.

In Quantum Physics, the universe is a complete vacuum and all galaxies, including our galaxy, are all moving non-stop in that vacuum at a speed of 300,000 km/second, from the advent of the Big Bang, but every star remains in its place. So to understand that, if we take a bomb and put it in glass or any container and ignite it, the glass will shatter into pieces and in an anti-gravity vacuum the shattered pieces of glass will constantly move, like the ball in the glass. As there is no irritation and no friction to slow it down, in a vacuum it moves continuously. So as they say, when the Big Bang happened everything was moving at a speed of 300,000 km/second in a vacuum. So according to their theory, if it is really an explosion, it has to continue moving in a disorderly fashion, not in an orderly way.

What is happening then? How did everything get set in an orderly way with everything in its place, as if it was planned, with not one second more and not one second less.

If you have a ball moving this way, to stop it you need an opposing force, then you need force from up and down to keep it in place; this is what we study in Quantum Physics. So then Who is holding this Earth and the Moon in its place with an opposing force? There are 80 billion stars in this galaxy and today scientists have found there are 6,000 galaxies other than our galaxy and all are full of stars that we don't know. Who is holding that and behind that driving force? Constellations and different stars orbit themselves and moons orbit around the planets. We say, there is an angelic force holding that system together. And the way we understand they are able to hold this system together is through their sound and through the power that God gave them. These angels can move things in a way that anyone who can hear them, can hear a more beautiful musical tone than any Earthly music. Their movement is musical and God created them for the benefit of human beings, not for anyone else!

I am very thankful to Maestro Jaime for expressing this book in a very nice, poetic way. When they asked me to write it, I thought, “If I write it, I must include all different prophets and messengers, as they and the Holy Spirit brought happiness on Earth, to make people happy, not to come against each other. Through our different sources we gathered a lot of information from different religions and manuscripts of ancient angelic Sufi books that are difficult to find. We wanted to include all thoughts, from the time of Plato up to today, that angelic power exists.

The maestro explained the situation about the Virgin Mary, that one moment when she was trembling, when the Holy Spirit appeared and blew on her, to conceive Jesus. They say this pregnancy took nine months and twelve days, as it happens to normal ladies. The moment that angelic power came to the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit, according to Sufi Islamic teachings, the physical body of Jesus (a) was already completed and ready to come out. This was with the angelic power the Holy Spirit came with, and it doesn't happen to everyone.

When people discovered her pregnancy, they attacked her, and that day Zakariyya was helping her. She went outside the city and when the moment of delivery came, she sat near a barren date tree. Immediately, the tree became green and grew dates. She heard a child saying, “Shake that tree and eat from its heavenly dates." Who made those dates appear? Then, immediately, between her feet water appeared, flowing like a river. Who did that? This is a known fact, in our Islamic religion and in other religions. Within herself, that was a moment of silence.

Now people count moments, but you cannot count moments. A moment can be ten years, or one year, or one second, or millions of years. How? This is all from angelic power. According to scientific knowledge, in order to blend that insight so that we can understand, a second is the briefest measure of time we know, and we know time has no dimension. There are three dimensions, and the fourth is time, which you cannot see; that is one hidden issue. Why can’t we see it? Why can we see the other three dimensions in this universe but not time? They say time is an imaginary dimension, but it is not imaginary as it exists. How does it exist?

If you take a second and divide it, you come to a time that is 1022 (10-to-the 22nd power). Time diminishes, then you divide it until you reach 0.00000000000000000000001, 22 zeros before the one. You cannot read that number. Scientists found at that point time does not exist; everything is energy. Therefore, in reality that fourth dimension is time, but with the enlightenment of heavenly angelic power it becomes energy.

In energy, you can move right or left as much as you want as there is no element of time there and the energy can expand. For example, this universe is running 300,000 km/second; however, you can move that distance in one second if you are able to reach the reality of the energy, which means the angelic power! If you have an angel with you, you can move, through the power of that angel, in what they say is the fastest possible speed, at 300,000 km/second, the speed of light which travels between the Earth and the Moon. But if you have more than one angel or if you have more powerful angels, or increased angelic power, in the moment you are thinking about it, you can go as fast as the speed of your mind! For example, you think, “I am by the Sun,” at that moment you will be there!

So the Virgin Mary (a), in that second when she heard the command, “God has given you through the Holy Spirit, by the son you are given, by the good tidings of Jesus.” Then, time disappeared and the baby was already coming out. She was going to be pregnant for nine months, but that moment expanded to birth the child within her! That is why during that moment of silence, she was able to hear the sounds of millions of angels attending the birth of her child, and she didn't know what to do. Allah said in Holy Qur'an, “The baby spoke.” How did he learn the language? That is the time of contraction and expansion. When it contracts and expands, it can be ten years long. Allah (swt) told her, “Eat and drink and be happy. Go to your people, and I will answer them.”

So she came to her family and her people, who scolded her. She pointed at the child. They said, "How are we going to speak with someone who is in the cradle?" How did he learn the language? You need many years to learn a language. This is the angelic power of Archangel Gabriel (a) that Allah gave to her and to the child. Jesus said in a very open voice, “God has made me and the Holy Spirit as a messenger for all the world! He ordered me to pray to Him and fast for Him and to call people to Him.” Can this happen without heavenly power? How else can that be done?

So that is why, in every movement in our lives an angel carries that movement. When you want to drink, from the moment the thought is in the mind--and Who gave you that thought? There is Someone giving an inspiration, because He knows what the body needs. That is why, someone in coma does not ask to eat or drink; angels have stopped supporting the movement. So if you are not in coma, you see your hand automatically go to your cup and raise it to your mouth. Who gave the taste of that water? Who gave you a digestive system? Did you, yourself, give it? Did the devil give it? It must be an angelic power.

In our human body there are three trillion cells, and each cell is like a factory or a battalion, a defense and offense system, according to medical knowledge and understanding, that saves cells from attacks by viruses. All of that functions through angelic powers.

Now, who told the professor to take his stick and hold it between his hands? That is a declaration to me that we have to end! (laughter) Someone moved him. God is not going to move us one by one, although He orders and gave power for His angels to do these things by the Will of their Lord. That is why it is said there are angels on Earth and everywhere. Especially those on Earth are roaming, where? In the streets, they might be heavenly streets, and they are looking for good people, to help them. The professor used the word Arabic word, yatoofoon, “roaming.” Like today, technology makes your location known where ever you are. If you are in Chile and travel to China, they know where you are, either through the phone roaming with you, or through use of your credit card. If humans can do that, can God not create a roaming system for his angels?

That is why, professor, there are many things to be learned. Does he know how many hairs are in his beard? Does anyone of you know how many hairs are on their head? There is a tube in each of those hairs that carries the blood to them. It is so amazing that medical doctors say they cannot know more than 3% of functions of the human body! They study DNA and have learned about 3%, but what about the remaining 97%? I have 1,762,000 hairs in my beard and if you don't believe it, come and count them, and count from the professor’s beard also!

So I appreciate what he mentioned about the book and it was very nice. I, too, often read it and enjoy it, and I should not say that as it is my book! May God bless you. We hope to also get the professor’s book (presented to Mawlana). I see it is inscribed and I will ask someone to translate it from Spanish for me.

Thank you very much.
