The Prophet (s) said, “What happened?”

Sayyida Ayesha (r) said, “I was sitting and there was a knock at the door. I opened it and saw one lady carrying two daughters, two girls, young ones, and she said, ‘Give me of what Allah (swt) gave you!’ and, yaa Rasoolullah (s), I didn’t have anything that I was holding for me or for you except I know you come hungry, so I saved three dates.”

In this whole house, three dates! Alhamdulillah, Allah (swt) is giving us boxes of dates. In that time, look the way they were living and today how we are living, and Allah (swt) says, “No problem!”

???????? ?????? ??? ?????????? ???????? ????? ????????? ????????

Rabbana atinaa fi ’d-dunya hasanatan wa fi ‘l-akhirati hasanah.

Our Lord, give us in this world (that which is) good and in the Hereafter (that which is) good.

(Surah al-Baqarah, 2:201)

You have a lot, you have a lot, but be shaakir, thankful to Me.”

So Sayyida Ayesha (r) said, “I was struggling with myself, should I give the dates that I saved or not? Then I gave her three dates and she gave every child one date and the third date was with her, their mother, to eat. The two children were so hungry that they ate the dates in seconds and they were looking at the hand of their mother for the third date. The mother was very hungry, but she gave them the date she had; she divided it into halves and gave one half to this one and the other half to that one, and they left. I was surprised that she gave her date to them as she was hungry, and the children ate the date so quickly, a sign that they were so hungry.”

And the Prophet (s) looked at her, and he said to his wife Sayyida Ayesha (r), may Allah (swt) dress us from their manifestations, `ataqahaa min an-naar, “With what she did, she protected herself from punishment of Hellfire.”  (Muslim)

All her sins are forgiven with three dates! One and one, and the third she wanted to eat but she gave it to them, and that action saved that lady from hellfire! Allah (swt) and the Prophet (s) know what she did in her life, but Allah (swt) saved her from Hellfire from giving her date to her children.

Prophet (s) said:

????? ????? ??? ??? ????? ??? ?? ??? ?????? ????

Ittaqu ’n-naar wa law bi shaqqi tamarata faman lam yajid fa-bi-kalimat tayyibah.

Protect yourself from Hellfire even with a piece of a date and if you don’t find it to give them by a good word. (Bukhari, Muslim)

It means to give to a homeless person or to help someone in need with even a date will take you to Paradise with no punishment for you!

Man `aal jaariyatayni dakhaltu anaa wa huwa al-jannata ka-haatayn wa ashaara bi-asa`batayh.

The Prophet (s) said, “Let anyone, any parents who raise two girls, jariyatayn, two children on Islam (until they reach maturity and get married), that family will definitely enter Paradise with me like these two fingers [ie without question].”  (Muslim)

Allah (swt) made Muslims and non-Muslims to be Muslim, as Prophet (s) said:

???? ??????? ??? ?????? ????? ????? ??????? ?? ??????? ?? ???????

Yoolidu al-insaanu `ala ‘l-fitra fa imma abawaahu yuhawwidaanihi aw yunasaraanihi aw yumajjisaanih.

Human beings are born on fitrah, innocence; either his parents make him Jewish or Christian or Zoroastrian. (Muslim)

Meaning if a non-Muslim family has a child, that child is born from the Light of Islam and when he grows up the parents make him either Jewish, Christian or Zoroastrian. Every person on this Earth is born on Islam and with the Light of imaan. If you pull the curtain when light comes in from the outside, you cannot see anything as everything is dark. when you open the curtain, everything is light. So lift the curtain of darkness from your heart, then you will be able to see everything, but when you have that veil of darkness you cannot see anything. Allah put imaan in the hearts of unbelievers, but they need to ignite it; someone has to ignite it.

Islam came with the same Heavenly message: Sayyidina Musa (a) came with the Tawrat, Sayyidina `Isa (a) came with the Injeel (New Testament), and the Prophet (s) came at the end with the Qur`an, so it is a Light for them and it will take that darkness away and that darkness has been taken from Muslims. That’s why Allah (swt) honored Muslims by honoring them to be from Ummat an Nabi (s).

The Prophet (s) asked the Sahaabah, “Who is bankrupted, muflis? Can you describe them?”

They said, “Yaa Rasoolullah (s), al-muflisu man laa maala lahu, “The one that has no wealth (money).”

The Prophet (s) said, al-muflisu man laa `amala laa, “It is the one who has no `amal.”

The Sahaabah (r) said, “Yaa Rasoolullah (s), wa insawma wa insalah, “Even if he fasts and prays?”

Prophet (s) said, “Yes, even if he fasts and prays he has no `amal because he is backbiting!”

Fasting and praying is between you and Allah (swt). Allah will forgive you, but haqooq al-`ibaad, harming the rights of people, Allah will not forgive until that person whom you backbited forgives you.

??? ???????? ????????? ??????? ??????????? ???????? ????? ???????? ????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ????? ??????????? ????? ??????? ?????????? ??????? ????????? ?????????? ??? ???????? ?????? ??????? ??????? ??????????????? ?????????? ??????? ????? ??????? ???????? ????????

Yaa ayyuha alladheena aamanoo ijtaniboo katheeran min azh-zhanna inna ba`da ‘zh-zhtanni ithmun wa laa tajassasoo wa laa yaghtab ba`dukum ba`dan ayuhibbu ahadukum an ya’kula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumoohu wattaqooLlaaha innaLlaaha tawwaabun raheemun.

O you who have attained to faith! Avoid most guesswork [about one another] for behold, some of [such] guesswork is [in itself] a sin, and do not spy upon one another, and neither allow yourselves to speak ill of one another behind your backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? No, you would loathe it! And be conscious of God. Verily, God is an Acceptor of Repentance, a Dispenser of Grace! (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:12)

That’s why Prophet (s) said that is the one who has no `amal, even if he fasts and prays. On the Day of Judgment, Allah (swt) will ask the oppressor who backbited and spread false rumors, and the one who was oppressed.

“Do you forgive your brother, the oppressor?”

The oppressed one will say, “Yaa Rabbee, I will not forgive him! He gave me a hard time in my community and he did not trust me, even though I did not do anything (wrong him).”

Allah (swt) will say to him, “Alright, take hasanah from the oppressor,” and He will give it to the oppressed one, from his fasting, praying, Hajj, charity and whatever good Allah (swt) rewarded him in dunya, then He will ask, “Are you satisfied now?”

The oppressed will answer, “Laa, yaa Rabbee, no I am not satisfied!”

Allah will ask, “Do you want more?”

The oppressor will reply, “More!”

Allah (swt) will keep taking from the oppressor and give to the oppressed until the oppressor will be left with nothing. Then He will say, “Are you alright now?”

He will say, “Laa yaa Rabbee, not yet, he has tortured me a lot.”

Then Allah (swt) will say, “Take from all the sins of the oppressed one and put them on the oppressor until the oppressor will be very heavy with the sins and the oppressed one will be with no sins and will have all the `amal of the other one.”

That is why the Qur`an, hadith and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (q) make sure to tell us to keep our tongues frozen and don’t move it, as everything goes wrong through the tongue. Sayyidina `Ali (r) said that the first thing you have to do is zip your mouth, don’t talk, as when you talk, you make a mistake and that is true. As soon as we open our mouth to talk, we make mistakes. He said, “Don’t talk, keep silent.”

That’s why Prophet (s) said in the hadith:

?????????? ??? ????????? ????? ??????? ???????? ?????? ????? ??????? ???? ??????

Allahumma laa takilnee ila nafsee tarfat `aynin wa laa aqala min dhalika.

O Allah! Don't leave me to my ego for the blink of an eye or less.  (al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, al-Bayhaqi in al-Asmaa wa’s-Siffaat, Sunan al-Kubra of an-Nisaa’ee)

This is the Prophet (s) saying this! So Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r) was crying and he put a small stone in his mouth for seven years in order not to talk! That is why we don’t see in Bukhari, Muslim or any collection of hadith more than 23 narrations by Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r). All his life he spent with the Prophet (s) and related only 23 or 27 hadith in his Islamic life, while Sayyidina Abu Hurayra (r) related 3,000! When Prophet (s) mentioned that hadith, Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) put a stone in his mouth so as not to speak, until Sayyidina Jibreel (a) came and said, “Yaa Rasoolullah! Order him, as Allah (swt) is happy with him, so let him take the stone out.” So our problem is that we don’t keep silent as we are weak. That is why Allah (swt) sent the Prophet (s) as a Mercy for Humanity! He will intercede for us for sure and everyone will go to Paradise.

In the hadith of Bukhari, the Prophet (s) said, “On the Day of Judgment, I will make sajda in the Presence of Allah (swt). In that sajda, Allah (swt) will open to my heart du`as that I never heard, read or knew before, special du`as that are opened for me in that moment.”

And Allah (swt) will say to him, “What you want? Raise your head and I will give you.”

Prophet (s) will say, “I need my ummah, nothing else!”

Allah will say, “Take one-third with no questions to Paradise!” May Allah (swt) make us from that first batch. Then Prophet (s) will go into sajda another time and make du`as that were not opened in the first time, as it will be new.

Allah (swt) will say to him, “Raise your head, I will give you what you want!”

He will say, “Yaa Rabbee, my ummah, the rest!”

Allah (swt) will say, “Okay, I will give you half of the rest and keep half for Me,” which means another one-third will go to Paradise with no account! Then he (s) will go into sajda again and Allah (swt) will open du`as for him that He didn’t open in the first and second time. Allah (swt) will say, “What do you want Yaa Muhammad (s)? Ask, and I will give you!”

He (s) will say, “ The rest!”

Allah (swt) will say, “All the rest, except the worst one; I will keep him.” That one must be the worst and Allah (swt) with His Wisdom and iraadah will keep one to teach us a lesson, and Prophet (s) will take all the rest, but his heart will be with the one who is left.

Allah (swt) will say to that one, “Who gave mercy to the heart of my Prophet (s) to ask for his ummah to go to Paradise? Is it not Me? I gave that mercy to him and you are the worst one who is being kept! With that mercy of Mine, I am sending you to Paradise!”

So the whole ummah will enter Paradise. We ask Allah (swt) to keep us with the Prophet (s) in dunya and Akhirah and to be all day with the people around us and whom we love, with every mu`min and Muslims, insha-Allah. We ask that Allah (swt) guide those who are not yet Muslim to become Muslim, inshaa-Allah.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
