Prophet (s) is in Command of Universes

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah, nawaytu 'r-riyaadah, nawaytu 's-salook, nawaytu ‘s-siyaam lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee haadha 'l-masjid.

Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, since he was seven years of age he spoke to people. He was called Shaykh `Abdullah al-Fa’iz ‘ad-Daghestani,’ from Daghestan, khalwati jalwati, in seclusion sometimes with people, sometimes with himself. When Allah (swt) wants something, no one can stop it. And Allah (swt) has put this dunya under the power of human beings. This universe is under human beings’ order. Nothing goes in this universe without a stamp of a Wali, that he will carry the responsibility of what we are seeing around us. They say in an article that there are six-thousand galaxies, and every galaxy is bigger than our galaxy by hundreds and thousands of times, and in our galaxy recently in an article it stated there are 387 billion stars, so many stars and [newly or undiscovered] planets. Allah knows what kind of Creation is there.

All this is under authority of Awliyaullah, and all Awliyaullah are under the authority of Prophet (s). Prophet (s) is a human being, but he is not like us: he is a heavenly human being that Allah has sent to humanity. People might ask, “How is a Wali is responsible for the universe?” Why not? If Allah wants, can anyone say no? Of 387 billions stars, under whose command are they? There must be a commander. We know Prophet (s) is a human being with his physical body, the biggest miracle is he went for Israa’ wa ’l-Mi`raaj and nothing affected him physically. Today in an airplane we need regulated oxygen to be safe. Prophet (swt) went through the whole universe reaching Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa not only in safety, but he was dressed every place he stopped from tajalliyyaat Allah `Azza wa Jall, Allah's Manifestations on the different heavens where Prophet has stepped and entered.

When he was raised he reached First Heaven and Jibreel (a) stopped, knocked at a heavenly door, Allah knows what kind of knock, what we understand they knocked at the door and angels opened the door and said, “Who is this?” He said, “It's Jibreel.” You don't know it's Jibreel? But He wants to raise the honour of Prophet (s).

What do you want? He has been invited. It's in the seerah of the Prophet (s), he has been invited to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa. Okay, then you can go in first Heaven. Why he entered First Heaven and then Second Heaven and then Third Heaven, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Allah knows how many other heavens are not mentioned to us. Why He stopped him in every Heaven? You have a lift and the guy is taking you into a skyscraper, if you press on a button first floor and they have a hundred and ten floor, if you press on one you will reach one and you enter to see what's inside and you say, “No,” you want to go to two, you go to two and see whatever you want to see, they show you accordingly until you reach the highest level of the skyscraper. That's an example for us to understand.

Allah wanted Jibreel (a) to show Prophet (s) every Heaven that he will enter in and that he will be dressed with the light that this Heaven has been dressed with. So he gets the first medallion. In the army they have medallions according to your rank they put you in. Is it not? Prophet (s) accordingly to Heaven, Allah wanted him to be dressed from heavenly dresses when he is coming from dunya to reach Heaven. He made him enter to every Heaven to be dressed with the tajalli of that Heaven, to prepare him to the Second Heaven which is more and more heavier than the First Heaven, to be able to get that light to absorb it and understand it, wa `allamnaahu min ladunna `ilma, to know all the knowledge that is in them and then proceed to the Second Heaven.

It's an honor for Prophet (s) like a demonstration, like a parade, taking him from one stage to higher stage, to a higher stage until he reaches the top stage. He was being moved like that in order to reach the highest level. Awliyaullah inherit from Prophet (s). Prophet when he passed through these universes, he was in command in these universes. Why? For sure, no one can doubt that Allah said, “You are in command of universes.” Allah gave universes to Prophet (s), who said:

لو كانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله جناح بعوضة ما سقى كافراً منها شربة ماء

If the value of this dunya weighed the wing of a mosquito, Allah would never give a cup of water for the unbelievers to drink. (Tirmidhi)

Dunya here is not only Earth it means anything Allah has created outside Heaven. Every creation that Allah created is being under the order of Prophet (s). Now someone might say, “How do you know that?” No, we don't know that, but what we know is the ayah of the Holy Qur'an:

سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعً

We subject to you whatever is in Heavens and in the Earth. (Surat al-Jaathiya, 45:13)

Allah has granted some people that are sincere and pious and they reached the level of Sainthood and they reached the meaning of the ayah, “They have nothing to fear.”

أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاء اللّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Behold! Verily on the Friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Surah Yunus, 10:62)

Allah (swt) gave the Awliyaullah everything, so they don't need to fear, they don't need to be sad or doubt, Allah is giving them everything! He said it in that ayah and no one can say anything because it is the Holy Qur’an, wa sakhkhara lakum maa fi ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-ardi jamee`an, “He has made Heavens and Universes under your power,” under the command of Prophet (s). Allah gave Awliyaullah permission to inherit their knowledge from Prophet (s), that's why He said, “They have nothing to fear, or from which to be sad.” Allah will give them what He wants and when He says wa sakhkhara, “Subjugate the Heavens and Earths under the power of a commander,” that commander can be you if you are a Wali, if you have become like Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q), Mawlana Shah Naqshband or Mawlana Shaykh, may Allah bless his soul, or like any Wali to whom Allah has given:

وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ

I have only created jinn and men so that they may worship Me. No sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me. (Surat adh-Dhariyat, 51:56-57)

If the worship is sincere, Allah (swt) will dress you to be a commander on samaawaati wa ‘l-ard (Heavens and Earth) according to the ayah: wa sakhkhara lakum maa fi ‘s-samaawaati wa ‘l-ardi jamee`an, “Whatever is in Heaven, everything I gave under your command, whatever is in Heavens or Earth or in dunya, I gave it to you.”

That's why when we sit in the presence of a Wali, he is not with us and he is with us. Jalwati-khalwati. ‘Jalwati’ means he is with people, khalwati means he is with Allah (swt), worshipping. As Prophet (s) said, "I have one hour with Allah (swt), I have one hour with the people.” That taskhir Allah gave to Ummat an-Nabi (s), that subjugated power Allah gave to Awliyaullah in order to guide their followers in order to reach, to ascend with Awliya following ittiba`u ’n-Nabi, the footsteps of Prophet (s), will be raised by the grace of Allah in an Ascension until the Day of Judgement, and they will become like stars in dark night because they were struggling in their lives for `ibaadah, worshipness, so Allah (swt) grants them that level to where Awliyaullah guide them.

Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q) said, “Yaa Rabbee! How can I reach You, Your Presence, Your inspiration? How I can know You? Open it for me.”

For many years he was trying until one day he heard a voice, “Yaa Abu Yazid, do you want to come? Leave your self and come!”

This is the story we often mention, but the continuation of this story is also important. He said, “How I can leave my self?” That's important. “Okay, my self is with me, how I can get rid of it?” It is by death. Allah created a place in everyone's heart where Shaytan can come in and go out, as mentioned by Prophet (s) in a Hadith. For everyone there is a chance that Shaytan can come at any moment. Shaytan came to Sayyidina Aadam (a), is it not? How? He is cursed, not allowed to be in Heaven; he sinned when he didn't make sajda, so how he can enter Paradise without the knowledge of angels? It means he found a way, and if he found a way to reach Adam (a) in Paradise, it means for sure he will find ways to enter our ego and destroy us!

Sayyidina Abu Yazid al-Bistami (q) said, “How can I leave my self and come, ya Rabbee? I am astonished and annoyed as whatever I do my self is with me.”

He said, “Kill yourself, kill your desires and become a pure person.”

How to kill your desires? As Grandshaykh `AbdAllah and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah bless their souls, said, there are 500 obligations and 800 forbiddens that every Wali must complete (by attacking them] in order to reach Maqaam al-Wilayah or else he will be struggling.

He said, “Ya Rabbee! I am struggling, I can not do that, so how can I come to You then?”

Allah (swt) said through inspiration to his heart, “Yaa Abu Yazid, make yourself a garbage dump for my servants,” which is so simple in our minds but in fact it is extremely difficult.

Bi hurmati ‘l-Habeeb bi hurmati ‘l-Fatihah.
