Prophet (s) is the Most Precious Amongst Creation

Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

17 January 2015 Houston, Texas

Mawlid an-Nabi (s) with Dr. Hassan M. Qadri at Minhaj USA

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.

Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. Don’t listen to this troublemaker [Ali Elsayed, who introduced Mawlana and praised him]! We are all Lovers of the Prophet (s).

Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. Nash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah! Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alayka yaa Sayyidee yaa Rasoolullah min akhir ad-dunya min al-gharb, liman taraktana? nureed an nakoon ma`k fi ’d-dunya wa ‘l-Akhirah. Allahumma ija`lnaa daiman fee hudoorihi wa hudoorullah taahireen mutaahireen.

I'd like to thank the organizers and especially Shaykh Hassan Moinuddin Qadri of Minhaj ul-Quran and I send special salaams and make prayers for his father, Shaykh ul-Islam Dr. Tahir ul-Qadri. Most of what he said is for the scholars of the Ummah; he said some really amazing things and we have to pray for him to be always successful. He gave many quotes about the Prophet (s) and he is high level, not low level, so we speak at my level, low level. When it comes to speak about Sayyidina Muhammad (s) in the month of Rabi`u ’l-Awwal, I get some qashaareera, goosebumps, as it is this month they ask you to say something about the Prophet (s) and what is there to say? The One Who created Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is The One Who has to say; we only get the knowledge, but do we experience the knowledge or train ourselves to dive in that knowledge? That is what is important, to dive in the ocean of Muhammad Rasoolullah (s)!

Certainly did Allah confer (great) favor upon the Believers when He sent among them a messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error. (Surat Aali-`Imraan, 3:164)

Sayyidina ibn `Abbas and some other Sahaabah (r) read it min anfasihim, “from the most precious of them”, by the change of only one kasra, a vowel on one letter instead of anfusihim; if Sahaabah (r) said that, what do we have to say? We have to reach to that valuable person, “from anfasihim”, the one whose value no one knows but Allah (swt)! That is what makes everyone worried when month of Rabi` al-Awwal comes.Allah (swt) said:

He it is Who raised an unlettered messenger from among themselves. (Surat al-Jumu`ah, 61:2)

He is sent from the illiterate, an-Nabiyyi ‘l-Ummiyy, so how did Sayyidina Jibreel (a) say to him, "Read!” We believe what Holy Qur'an said, but how it comes, ba`tha fi ’l-umiyyeena rasoola. Allah (swt) said:

Read! And your Lord is The Most Bountiful, The One Who taught Man by the Pen, taught Man what we did not know. (Surat al-Alaq, 96:3-5)

“Read, and Your Lord is the Most Generous who taught you by the Pen.” Allah did not want His Holy Prophet (s) to hold a pen in dunya, because He wants to give the Prophet (s) the Qalam al-Qudrah in Akhirah, where Allah will say to him, “Write what you want of who is going to Paradise and who is going to Hellfire.”

That is the Pen that Allah ordered to write and the Pen asked, “What do I write?”

Allah said, “Write ‘Laa ilaaha illa ’Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah.’”

That is the Pen that Allah honored! He created Creation through Bahr al-Qudrah, where He created from that ocean and gave that ocean to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) to judge on the Day of Judgment; He gave the power to Sayyidina Muhammad (s) to intercede for the Creation. Let us go down a little bit. We are sitting here remembering the love of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). One `abd appeared to Sayyidina Musa (a) and showed him knowledge that he did not already know.

So they found one of Our Servants on whom We had bestowed mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Own Presence. (Surat al-Kahf, 18:65)

Sayyidina Musa (a) was impatient, asking to see Allah and Allah wanted to show him so He sent him to Sayyidina al-Khidr (a) to learn from him. Allah has many `abid like Khidr (a): He had given him mercy and taught him Divinely Knowledge, and before doing that He gave him rahmah. Dr. Hasan al-Qadri explained the meaning of mercy extensively, that it means he dressed him from the ocean of mercy of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) in order to dress him from the Divine Presence.

Without the Prophet (s) there is no knowledge! With the rahmah of the Prophet (s), Allah gives knowledge to everyone. That is why He said:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ

(O Muhammad!) We have sent you not except as a Mercy for all the Worlds. (Surat al-Anbiyaa, 21:107)

He said, `alameen, “to all the worlds.” He called him al-Qassim “The Divider,” to divide that rahmah amongst all Creation!

Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is someone whom only Allah (swt) can describe and in one ayah Allah described him very well:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:56)

If Allah and His angels are praying on the Prophet (s) that means, “ Yaa Muhammad, I gave you everything, `Ilm al-Awwaleen wa ‘l-Akhireen and I ordered my angels from the day of their creation to make salawaat on you!” But we human beings are very limited in knowledge. Allah (swt) said in Holy Qur'an:

وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ

Above every knower is a (higher) knower. (Surah Yusuf, 12:76)

All this `ilm that has been given to human beings is but a drop of the knowledge that Allah gave to the Prophet (s), both religious knowledge and secular or scientific knowledge! Say, “Allahumma salli `ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa `alaa aali Sayyidina Muhammad!” and “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah!” The Prophet (s) said, “Who says ‘Laa ilaaha illa-Llah’ will enter Paradise, so say, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Muhammadun Rasoolullah!” as Allah (swt) will fulfill what He promised.

Ibn `Umar reported that the Prophet (s) said: "When you pass by the Gardens of Paradise, avail yourselves of them." The Companions asked: "What are the Gardens of Paradise, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "The circles of dhikr.” (Tirmidhi)

That means we have in our Balance now to enter one Paradise. If someone asks how is that, it is easy, because Allah (swt) said:

أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي

I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsiyy. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)

So say “Allah” one time and you will be in Allah's Presence as in the above Hadith of Prophet (s). Now you might say that there is only one Rawdah, the one in Madinatu 'l-Munawwarah, but the Prophet (s) can make the whole dunya Paradise! That is why when you pass by the Gardens of Paradise, sit in them. What are the Gardens of Paradise? They are the circles of dhikr, hilaq adh-dhikr, and the Garden of Paradise is there in that circle forever, never ending. Don't think it ends when the gathering ends! There are angels who roam to find these gatherings of dhikr and Mawlid and they continue that praising until the Day of Judgement!

The praise of angels on the Prophet (s) is not like ours. We do it one way and that is all we know, but the angels make one salawaat and the next one is different, the one after that is different and so on. Also, no angel can duplicate another! That is the Greatness of Allah (swt), to make each angel do salawaat different from the other and each salawaat of each angel is different.

On Laylat al-Israa wa 'l-Mi`raaj, Allah brought the Prophet (s) to Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa for what? We speak too much about Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, why? I read one time that when the Prophet (s) reached Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa, Allah said to the Prophet (s), “Siffnee, yaa Rasoolullah.”

The Prophet (s) said, Anta al-Qahhaar, “You are The Vanquisher, The Destroyer, The One Who destroys everything.”

Allah (swt) said, “Why did you call Me by that Name?”

The Prophet (s) replied, “I called you by that Name because You are the One Who destroys the sins of the Ummah!”

Allah (swt) said:

Alladhee anqada zhahrak.

Have We not expanded for you your breast? And We removed from you your burden that weighed so heavily on your back. (Surat ash-Sharh, 94:1-3)

“I am the One Who took the burden from your back and removed from you your wizr.” Does the Prophet (s) have wizr, sins? No, he is infallible! So it means, “Yaa Muhammad! You are asking for your Ummah about that wizr you are carrying on your back and you are worried about it, so I am forgiving your Ummah from all their sins,” as the Prophet (s) has no sins.

Wa raf`ana laka dhikrak.

And raised high your fame (O Muhammad). (94:4)

“So when We took the sins of the Ummah, We raised it up.” That is because the Prophet (s) was asking and asking Allah, and Allah (swt) said:

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ

You are the best of Nations evolved for Mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong and believing in Allah. (Surat Aali-`Imraan, 3:110)

“You are the best Ummah sent forth to Mankind.” O People, keep the Prophet (s) happy, because he is the one who is going to face Allah with the deeds of the Ummah, not us, so don't embarrass the Prophet (s) on the Day of Judgment. Today there is too much killing and conspiracy. Be happy with what Allah gives to you, you are to be honored from Ummat an-Nabi (s)!

Allah (swt) said:

Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily you would have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. (Surat al-Hashr, 59:21)

“If we revealed that Holy Qur'an on a mountain, it would shatter.” Awliya say that is a mountain and Allah revealed the Qur’an to the Prophet (s) and his heart did not shatter and what Allah gave to the Prophet (s) is beyond imagination!

May Allah support the Muslims and the non-Muslims, to guide them to Islam. Wa ‘s-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
