The divine secret was sent to the grave after Shaykh Khalid al-Baghdadi (q). After him came Shaykh Isma`il, Khas Muhammad, Shaykh Muhammad Effendi al-Yaraghi, Shaykh Jamaluddin al-Ghumuqi al-Husayni, Abu Ahmad as-Sughuri, Abu Muhammad al-Madani, Shaykh Sharafuddin ad-Daghestani, Sayyidee Mawlana Shaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa`iz ad-Daghestani (q)! That is the greatest secret with the presence. Everyone has a secret and 124,000 Sahaabah (r) each had a secret. But Sirru 'l-`Azham, the Greatest Secret, was given to Sayyidina Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r), according to the hadith in which Prophet (s) said:
Whatever Allah poured into my heart, I poured into the heart of Abu Bakr. (Muslim)
Everything! Abu Bakr as-Siddiq then gave it to Salman al-Farsi, Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, Jafar as-Sadiq, Tayfur Abu Yazid al-Bistami, Abul Hassan `Ali al-Kharqani, Abu `Ali al-Farmadi, Yusuf al-Hamadani, Abul Abbas, al-Khidr, `Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani, `Ali Muhammad ar-Ramitani, Baba as-Samasi, as-Sayyid Amir Kulal, Khawaja Baha`uddin Shah Naqshband, Yaqub al-Charkhi, Ubaydullah al-Ahrar, Muhammad az-Zahid, Khwaja al-Amkanaki, Muhammad al-Baqi bil-Lah, Ahmad al-Faruqi as-Sirhindi, Muhammad al-Masum, Sayfuddin al-Faruqi al-Mujaddidi, Nur Muhammad al-Badawani, Shamsuddin Habib Allah, AbdAllah ad-Dahlawi, then to Shaykh Khalid al-Baghdadi as he was after Shaykh AbdAllah. After Shaykh Khalid it finished. He passed away from the plague. May Allah protect us.
During that time, forty people had permission from Shaykh Khalid (q) to spread our Naqshbandi Order. But he used to say, “Shaykh Isma`il an-Naraani will sit on my praying carpet. Whoever gives oath to him, it is as if he gave oath to me.” SubhaanAllah!
After sixteen days, he left this world for the Next. Those forty authorized ones didn't know and said, “We don't need anyone else as we have permission from Mawlana Khalid himself. We don't need to give baya` to Shaykh Isma`il.” This was made clear in the book, Shams al-Shumus by Mawlana Khalid (q). May Allah bless them all and raise their stations. Therefore, the tap of all those shaykhs who did not reach to Shaykh Khalid (q) was closed after some time and they had no permission. They all claimed to have a connection, but they didn't have the current that runs with divine inspirations, from Sirru 'l-`Azham, the greatest secret. It was cut from them. the connection has to be. There were 124,000 Sahaabah, and although each one had a secret, Sirru 'l-`Azham was only with Abu Bakr as-Siddiq (r), who passed it on to Salman al-Farsi (r). This is something, and that is something else.
There may be a tap, but there is no water coming through it; that is finished until the appearance of Mahdi (a). He may point the respective ways to every guide, and they may spread among people, but it is finished except for only a few now.
