When We Call on Prophet, He is With Us

Mawlid an-Nabi (s) Celebration in Michigan

Shaykh Hisham Kabbani

24 December 2016 Burton, Michigan

Suhbah at As-Siddiq Institute & Mosque (ASIM)

[On video, suhbah starts @ 36:00 minutes.]

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani ‘r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.

كلمتان خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان فى الميزان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن سبحان الله و بحمده سبحان الله العظيم

There are two words that are very easy to say, yet very heavy on the Scale, most beloved to The Merciful, “SubhaanAllah wa bihamdihi subhaanAllahi ’l-`Azheem.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een. Alhamdulillahi 'lladhee hadaana li 'l-islaam wa maa kunnaa li-nahtadiya law laa an hadaana 'Llah al-hidaya min Allah wal-karam al-ilahee min Allah. wal-karam al-Muhammad huwa ash-Shafa` .

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem. Awwalaan wa aakhiran al-hidaya min Allah `azza wa jall wa 'r-rahma min Allah ila saahib al-rahmat Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Guidance is from Allah (swt). Whatever you try to achieve when the moment of guidance comes, you are going to reach your destiny, you are going to reach your goal. And what is our goal, what are we aiming for? When we are coming and sitting here or somewhere else, what is the purpose? If you have another building like this building next to you and it has some other people there, what is the difference between us and them? They are working for dunya and you are working for Akhirah. Your aim coming here is Akhirah. There is no other aim, and we are coming here today, our aim today is to be with the Prophet (s). For sure and no doubt that we are in his Presence (s).

Awliyaullah are guiding their followers to Mahabbat an-Nabi (s), to describe the greatness of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). So then what is our coming here for? For us to see where we are standing in the Presence of the Prophet (s). If you close your eyes and concentrate that the Prophet (s) is in front of you, no one can say to you, “Why are you doing that?” Allah said to do that! Contemplation for one hour is better than worship of 70 years.

تفكر ساعة خير من عبادة سبعين سنة

To remember Allah (swt) (contemplate or meditate) for one hour is better than seventy years of worship.

So we are contemplating by Allah's orders. Al-tafakkur huwa ar-muraaqaba wal-muraaqaba yahdee na ila tareeq al-khalaas. Our Tariqah is to reach the Prophet (s) from far away and anyone contemplating on his Mawlid ash-Shareef will be in his Presence, whether in Europe or America or in South Africa or China or in ... laa shak wa laa shubha, no doubt and it is real. Awliyaullah guide their followers to the Presence of the Prophet (s).

O Prophet of Allah! We came to you, your Presence, so don't make us far from it and present us to the Presence of Allah clean and pure; take our hands to reach Reality! Everyone is seeking Reality, but out of arrogance people are stubborn in their minds: they know the Reality, but they don't want to say it. They know:

وإعلموا أن فيكم رسول الله

And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)

They know that the Prophet (s) is among us, but their arrogance does not let them say that. I am not speaking of unbelievers, I am speaking of those who say, “Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah.” Don't be arrogant to the Prophet (s), then he will take you to the Presence of the Prophet (s).

Allah said in Holy Qur'an--do you believe in the Holy Qur'an? Yes. We come, we are sinners, but we believe in the Holy Qur'an and we believe it is Allah's Words: al-Qur’an an-naatiqi, the Qur’an that talks to people, and Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا

If they had only, when they were unjust (oppressor) to themselves, come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:64)

That is Allah saying in a living ayah, it is not dead, astaghfirullah. Qur'an abadiyya, sarmadiyya daiman Kalaamullah. Allah says in the Holy Qur'an, when you do something wrong, what do you do? You run to those who support you to prevent you from being hanged or killed, so they appoint for you the best lawyers. And Allah made it easy for us. Will you buy dunya for Akhirah? No, we buy dunya to disappear before Akhirah. So Allah mentioned in that verse when we have done something wrong go to the Prophet (s), and this verse came for the Sahaabah (r). Wa law annahum zhalamoo anfusahum, “When they have oppressed themselves by committing a sin they should run to the Prophet (s),” and Allah did not say in this verse to ‘run to Allah’, but to ‘run to the Prophet (s)’. That is a higher level, fa firroo il-Allah. So we have to be alert when we recite the Holy Qur'an.

Allah is saying it to the Sahaabah (r) and at the same time it is to us, because Holy Qur'an is for everyone in every time, for dunya and Akhirah. And Allah said, “When they oppressed themselves they come to you, yaa Muhammad.” Finished, the ayah is clear! How do they say the Prophet (s) has no power on that? So we in the 1st century or 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 19th or 20th, all are concerned about that ayah, it speaks to them as it is not only for one time to the Sahaabah, it is until the Day of Judgment! On Judgment Day, to whom do we run? To Sayyidina Muhammad (s), is it not? Is that shirk? Don't they say, “Go directly to Allah.” But on Judgment Day we run to whom, to Allah or to the Prophet (s)? Through him, he takes you to Allah (swt). So he is the one on Yawm al-Mahshar that all prophets and all their nations will come to, is it not?

أنا سيد ولد آدم ولا فخر

I am the Master of the Children of Adam and I say this with no pride. (Musnad Ahmad)

We run to the Prophet (s). So the ayah says, wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaa’ook. The kaf refers to the Prophet (s). So they come to you: do you come to someone who is veiled or to someone who can see? You go to someone who can see. The Prophet (s) is present and watching. So immediately when you commit a sin, you remember and ask forgiveness. At that moment, the Prophet (s) comes to you and he opens his door for you, he is expecting you, so it means a sinner will come to the door of Prophet (s) and the Prophet (s) is expecting him and he asks Allah's forgiveness. And where do you ask forgiveness of Allah? In the presence of the Prophet (s)!

To whom did Sayyidina Zakariyya (a) give respect? He used to give respect to Sayyida Maryam (a): whenever he entered her niche he found provision there and he said, “From where did that come?” and she said, “That is from Allah, He provides whom He likes,” and then rawhaniyyat an-Nabi (s) was ready, informing him, “Go there and make du`a.” He is present in that niche in dunya and in Akhirah, abaadi azaali bi ma`na laa yata`ada hudood al-`uboodiyya.

So we run to the Prophet (s) and if you remember the Prophet (s) at that time you will see him, if the veils are taken. So to run to Allah is to go to the Prophet (s) and in that case la-wajadoo ’Llaaha. If we stop here “they find Allah,” not reciting tawaaban raheema. So if you want to find Allah, you must run to the Prophet (s). Ma`rifatullah lan tahsul illa bi baab an-Nabi (s) there is no way to reach Gnosis except through the door of the Prophet (s). So remember the Prophet (s) by making salawaat upon him, as Allah said, “Salloo `alayh!”

Verily, Allah and His angels send praise on the Prophet. O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-Ahzaab, 33:56)

When you make salawaat on the Prophet (s) he is present, you are not sending salawaat on someone who is absent. Even when millions of people make salawaat, he will reach all of them. On Judgment Day, all nations and every nabi (a) comes to the Prophet (s) to ask him to make shafa`ah for them and their nations, according to the Hadith:

شفاعتي لأهل الكبائر من أمتي

My intercession is for big sinners on Judgment Day. (Imam Ahmad)

He did not say ‘for small sinners’, these are waived by themselves. So Prophet (s) took on the big sins, and he (s) said, “I am carrying, I am doing it, give it to me,” and Allah gave him shafa`ah. So our way is to run to whom? To the Prophet (s). And if you run to the Prophet (s) and Ahlu ’l-Bayt, you will be saved; if you don't run to the Prophet (s) and Ahlu ’l-Bayt you will not be saved. May Allah guide us to the love of the Prophet (s) and love of His Family.

Dunya is passing, no one is going to stay. Whatever you are going to do, like yesterday I was watching the news and they showed one person his age 99 years and no diabetes, no cholesterol, no sickness, he was strong like a horse and he is not a Muslim. Who gave him that? Allah (swt). Whatever Allah wishes and wants will happen. When the order comes, “Come, yaa `abdee,” that `abd goes directly to the sound that came, and no one can divert him from it; he will go in that direction. If they put the whole of dunya in front of him at that time, still the `abd will not look anywhere else. May Allah forgive our sins and forgive your sins, and may Allah forgive the whole Ummah's sins. May Allah forgive everyone!

When I was young and Grandshaykh `AbdAllah (q) spoke about death it went in one ear and out the other, but when you grow up you begin to understand that as soon as Malik al-Mawt comes, your eyes are opened and you will see the Prophet (s). Grandshaykh (q) said when Angel of Death comes to take the soul, a white hand comes in front of the person who will die and on it is written "Allah" and that soul moves quickly. That is a heavenly hand, not a physical hand, but rather a description for cover between him and Allah (swt). Between Allah and the soul, that one will be pulled by the secret of that white hand, and so entranced, amazed by it and pulled. It is written on your hand “Allah” and the soul of the deceased runs to the expression of “Allah” written by noor, which will take it to the Presence of Prophet (s), who then takes you to the Presence of Allah.

Previously so many realities were hidden and now they are appearing because these are the Last Days. Now when you open YouTube there are many mentioning the Ahadith of the Last Days that we used to mention in many suhbahs, now they are mentioning it to prepare for the appearance of Mahdi (a). We hope we can see him and, if not, you see him on our behalf.

[We love you Mawlana! Mahdi cannot appear without you.]

Surat al-Fatihah.

All of us are jumping and we are already in the engine of a train that is moving with the wagons behind and we are in those wagons trying to reach the first wagon behind the engine. So in reality you are there. Awliyaullah know where everyone's position is. Inshaa-Allah all of us will see the Reality of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). It is only a veil like this [Mawlana unfolds his turban cloth to a single, sheer thickness], but if you fold layer over layer it becomes thick and you cannot see. So that veil is taken from all of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s (q) followers. How do we know that? That doesn’t concern people who ask that question: let them look at themselves and we look at ourselves. Between us and the Prophet (s) there is very veil through which you can see traces. If you concentrate more you see more, because Allah is happy that everyone is celebrating the Prophet's (s) birthday. Previously many people did not celebrate, but now it is completely changed so if you don't do it it is considered ma`siyya and if you do it it is considered hasanah. They used to call it Seerah an-Nabi (s) now they correctly call is Mawlid an-Nabi (s), alhamdulillah.

We want them to put us in Bahr al-Qudrah where the Prophet (s) can clean us and present us clean in the Divine Presence!

Welcome, Shaykh Salahuddin, we are happy to smell the presence of Mecca and Madinah (he is born in Mecca). I am happy to see him today. He is from Awliyaullah.

Even people far away, this camera is not better than your heart. This camera can broadcast everywhere and your heart is millions and millions of times better: it can reach every star in your galaxy! Allah is opening a telescope in everyone's heart to make near what is far. These cameras are not better than Allah's Creation. That is for everyone, not just for men, but for men and women. Who shows love to the Prophet (s) will get that telescope, but you have to subscribe now. Which wagon in that train will you be in to reach that Reality? Inshaa-Allah Allah will open for us and we will be swimming in Bahr al-Qudrah.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
