Lighten Your Dunya Load and Increase Your Akhirah Load

Shaykh Nour Mohamad Kabbani

2 February 2025 Dallas, Texas USA

Thank you for inviting me over. Thank you for putting your differences aside and allowing me to be with you. May Allah (swt) keep us on the path of Rasoolullah (s) and his Holy Companions. Inshaa-Allah, a few words until Ishraq. There is a Hadith that says, those who pray Fajr and are busy with Dhikrullah until Ishraq, they will get the reward of Umrah and Hajj. Our shuyookh have taught us the best. Without us knowing, they have incorporated all of these Awrads and Dhikrullah for us to stay awake until Ishraq. We wait for 15 or 20 minutes, others say 40 minutes but it doesn’t matter, until the waqtu ‘l-karaaha is gone. You can then pray two raka`ats and Allah (swt) will make you from Ashabu ‘l-Jannah, inshaa-Allah. Ameen.

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem.

Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Dastoor, yaa Sayyidi, madad.

The maghroor, the ones who are cheated or deceived by Shaytan or the dunya have the following characteristics. The one who knows that Allah (swt) created him but he doesn’t worship. I am not talking about the unbelievers, I am talking about Muslims. They know that Allah (swt) is Al-Khaliq but they don’t worship Him. Also the one knows that Allah (swt) is Ar-Razak, the One to provide his sustenance, but is not content with that knowledge.

One Waliyuallah was travelling and he came to a village. He was praying behind the imam. The imam looked at him and said, “Where do you eat, how do you eat, what do you eat or when do you eat?”

He replied, “You are asking me where I eat. Okay, wait, let me repeat my prayer because I cannot pray behind an imam who does not trust in Allah (swt) as the Provider and Sustainer.”

Look at their iman. You have to elevate your iman.

Also, the one who knows that dunya is going to perish but he still depends on dunya. You depend on dunya, O Muslim. Also, the one who knows that your inheritors will get your money but you keep collecting it. They keep gathering the wealth of this dunya even though they know the people behind them will take all of it. They have billions and trillions.

“How much is he worth?” “He’s worth four hundred billion dollars.”

“Who’s going to take it?”

“His son, his daughter, his cousin, or his uncle.”

What’s the benefit? Yaqeen is certainty that you are going to be with Allah (swt). You are with Allah (swt) but you are veiled from that fact. Allah (swt) says, I am with you wherever you are, but we are blind from that fact. The mu’min has to elevate his iman.

Allah (swt) is Al-Khaliq, so worship Him. He is the Creator, worship Him. Allah (swt) is Ar-Razak, so be satisfied. Let your heart be at peace with that. Dunya will disappear, so don’t depend on it. Your inheritors will get all your gold. “Where is me gold?” “Me gold is gone.”

The misled one knows that death is coming but does not prepare for it. They know that the qabr is their home but they do not furnish it. Did you furnish your qabr? How do you furnish your qabr? `Amalu ‘s-salih, good `amal. Send your couch, your bed, your fridge over there. You make your qabr rawdah from Riyadu ‘l-Jannah by `amalu ‘s-salih that Allah (swt) showed you.

Dayyan is the one to compensate you and give you what you deserve, good or bad. You don’t correct your Aqeedah or your `ilm. You don’t say, “Allah (swt) doesn’t like this, so I better leave it,” or, “Allah (swt) likes this, so I better do it.” You have to know that Allah (swt) is going to take you to account, so correct yourself.

Sirat will be your passage. Do you believe in that? So why do you carry too much burden? Wizr is the amal that you carry. If it is bad, you will carry so much. What happens when you have so much on your back? You go right and left until eventually you fall. Lighten up your load through istighfar and Allah (swt) will make it light.

Naar is the home of wicked ones and you’re not running away from it. Are Muslims running away from Jahannam? I don’t think so. Look at what they’re doing. Maybe the common ones are but not the others. Jannah is your home, but you don’t work for it.

The mu’min has to know these ten facts. They’re very easy. Do your best. Work for Jannah because it’s going to be your home. Run away from Jahannam because it’s not your home. You will walk on that bridge, so lighten your load. Allah (swt) will take you to account, so have good amal. Inshaa-Allah, Allah (swt) will forgive the bad. Don’t get too carried away with, “I am, I am. I do, I do. My deeds, my amal.”

Rasoolullah (s) said a Hadith and I checked on IslamWeb, the Wahhabi website and, alhamdulillah, they said it’s Hadith sahih. When they say it’s sahih, we can speak about it and nobody will come against us. Top certificate. Mashaa-Allah, certified by the Wahhabi website.

This Hadith is mentioned in the kitab of Awliyaullah. They know the Ahadith that are true and those that are not true by seeing the light in that Hadith. They see Noor. The words of Rasoolullah (s) are holy, they are wahiy. He does not speak from desire. He speaks from what is inspired to him.

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌ يُوحَىٰ

Wa ma yantiqu `ani ‘l-hawaa. In huwa illa wahyun yuhaa.

Nor does he say (anything) from (his own) Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him. (Surat an-Najm, 53:4-5)

It is Nour. When Awliyaullah hear the Hadith, they see the Nour of that Hadith with the Hadith and say, “This is true.” They don’t need a chain, the sanad, who said it and who did not say it. Is this Hadith da`eef, mursal, munqatih or mawd`oo or whatever classification they have. They only check to see if there is Noor with the words, and not with these eyes but with iman.

This is a beautiful Hadith narrated by Sayyidina Jabir (r). He stated, Rasoolullah (s) came out of his room to them and said, “Jibreel (a) was just here with me and he told me the following. He said, yaa Muhammad (s). There was a servant of Allah (swt) who worshipped Allah (swt) for five hundred years on a mountaintop. This mountain was surrounded by a big ocean. Allah (swt) made a water spring at the bottom of the mountain for that servant. He also made a pomegranate tree that would give one pomegranate every day. At the end of the day, this servant would go down and drink from the spring, make wudu and eat that pomegranate and then continue to worship Allah (swt). This went on for five hundred years and then he knew that his death was coming.

Even if you worship for five hundred years, death will come. He said, “Yaa Rabbee. My death is coming, I have one request. Take me when I am in sajdah but don’t allow the earth to eat me and don’t allow anything from the elements to make my sajdah and body vanish.” The elements of salt, water, wind or whatever.

Sayyidina Jibreel (a) was telling Rasoolullah (s), every time we come down, every time we go up, we see him in sajdah. He is dead but still in sajdah. We find in Allah (swt)’s Knowledge that on Yaumu ‘l-Qiyamah, Allah (swt) will resurrect him and will say, “O My servant. Enter Jannah. Do you want to enter Jannah with My Rahmah or with your amal?”

What did he do? He was away from anything. There were no inheritors, no me gold, no dunya. There was nothing on that mountain. He did nothing but worship Allah (swt) for five hundred years and his rizq was halal. He didn’t cheat, lie or steal. Allah (swt) gave him his rizq of water and food everyday. That servant said, “Yaa Rabbee. Bi `amalee” Allah (swt) repeated the question three times, “Do you want to enter Jannah by My Mercy or by your amal?” Every time he said, “By my amal, my work.”

Mashaa-Allah. So many Muslims are proud of their work. “I worshiped at Fajr. Others were sleeping. How great I am.” Then Allah (swt) will say as Jibreel (a) found in Lawh al-Mahfouz, “O My angels. Measure the ni`mah of the eyesight I gave this servant against his amal.” That is one favor, the ni`mah of eyesight. When I read this Hadith, I started thinking. Imagine you’re blind. Minute after minute you’re not seeing. Hour after hour you’re not seeing. Day after day you’re not seeing. Imagine never seeing anything. How great of a favor is that eyesight?

When mala’ikah compare the favor of eyesight with the `ibaadah of five hundred years, the favor of eyesight overtakes all of that five hundred years. That is just the ni`mah of eyesight and there is nothing left for the other favors that Allah (swt) gave you with this body. This is a sahih Hadith according to IslamWeb.

He said, “O My angels. Drag him to the Fire.” He was not able to pay off the rest of the favors: hearing, speaking, tasting, your mind, your movements. Only the eyesight was equal to five hundred years of worship. When they started dragging him to the Fire, he said, “Yaa Rabbee. Yaa Rabbee. Make me enter Jannah with Your Mercy.”

He said, “Bring him back. O My servant. When I created you, was it by your work or was it by My Rahmah?”

“Yaa Rabbee, by Your Rahmah.”

“When I made you strong enough to worship Me, was it you or was it My Rahmah?”

You broke your fingers. Was it Allah (swt)’s Rahmah or your work? He gave you hands. What have you done? Where can you buy a hand? Unless you become half human, half robot. That’s what they’re trying to do, “We can give you a hand, don’t worry.”

He said, “O My servant. When I gave you the food and water, was it by My Rahmah?”

“Yes, yaa Rabbee, it was by Your Rahmah.”

“When you asked Me to seize your soul in sajdah, was it you or was it Me?”

“Yaa Rabbee, Your Rahmah.”

“By My Rahmah you will enter Jannah. Enter My Jannah.”

Jibreel (a) said to Rasoolullah (s), “Everything is by the Rahmah of Allah (swt).”

Don’t feel proud saying, “I am up. I have a beard. I’m better than those who don’t carry the Sunnah of Rasoolullah. I am the imam.” Don’t feel proud of any amal. It is all by the Rahmah of Allah (swt). They asked Rasoolullah (s), “Allah (swt) has to also cover me with His Rahmah.”

First correct your acts, the ten things we said. I don’t know if you remember anything. Maybe you remember “me gold.” Don’t gather the gold. You’re going to give it to somebody else you don't like. “I don’t like this son of mine. I don’t like this wife of mine. I don’t like this husband of mine. He’s going to get them after.” Work on these ten things as a Muslim but don’t be proud that you are a worshiper or you have iman. Sayyidina Jibreel (a) is teaching you a lesson that everything you have is by the Rahmah of Allah (swt). If He does not grant it to you, you will have nothing. Even your `ibaadah is by His Fadl.

ذَٰلِكَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلْفَضْلِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Dhalika fadlu ‘Llahi yu’tihi mayyashau wa ‘Llahu dhu’l-fadli ‘l-`Azheem.

Such is the Bounty of Allah, which He bestows on whom He will: and Allah is the Lord of the highest bounty. (Surah Al-Jumu’ah, 62:4)

That is the Grace of Allah (swt). He gives it to whomever He likes. W ’Allahu dhul fadli ’l-`azheem. He is the One Who owns that Fadl. He is Gracious and Giving.

Say, “Thank You, yaa Rabbee. Alhamdulillah.” What do they say when they enter Jannah?

Wa akhiru da’wahum an alhamdulillah Rabbi ‘l-`Alameen. Yaa Rabbee. It is by Your Rahmah. Thank you.

(This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee, O Allah." And "Peace" will be their greeting therein! and the close of their cry will be: "Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!" (Surah Yunus, 10:10)

When they enter Jannah, they say, Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. Both Names signify Rahmah. After that you say, Alhamdullahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen. Everything is by Rahmah. When Sayyidina Adam (a) sneezed, he said, “Alhamdulillah” because Allah (swt) created him. The angels said, “YarhamukAllah.” Allah (swt) gives you the Rahmah.

Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. Alhamdullahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem. Your beginning is by Rahmah, your end is by Rahmah and you are supposed to say “thank you” for everything. The last thing they say when they enter Jannah is, “Yaa Rabbee. Alhamdulillah. Da’wahum feeha subhanak Allahuma wa tahiyatuhum feeha salam.” Their prayer is, “SubhaanAllah.” They are so happy. “It’s a miracle that I am entering Jannah.” And their greeting is, “Salam. Peace be upon you. Safety upon you. Happiness upon you. Comfort upon you.”

And the last thing they say is, “Alhamdullahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen.”

Your `ibaadah, your worship, your iman, your Islam, your everything is from the Rahmah of Allah (swt). That brings your ego down and you are not proud of what you do. “Mashaa-Allah, I know all of Qasidatu ‘l-Burdah. I am great.” Who gave you that memory? Where did you buy it? Do you get the iCloud, add memory?

I keep getting these messages. They want my gold. “Pay for more storage, more memory.” Allah (swt) gave you the memory. Who made you memorize Qasidatu ‘l-Burdah? It is by Allah (swt)’s Rahmah that you memorized. By His Rahmah you are praising Rasoolullah (s). “I am feeding the poor.” Who gave you “me gold” to feed the poor? Who gave you the money to feed the poor? Allah (swt). You always have to see yourself as a faqeer, a poor one in front of Allah (swt).

Yaa ayyuha ‘n-naasu antumu ‘l-fuqaraa ilAllah w’Allahu ‘l-Ghaniyu ‘l-Hameed.

O men! It is you that have need of Allah, but Allah is the One Free of all wants, worthy of all praise. (Surah Fatir, 35:15)

You are the poor ones. You are in need of Him. He is not in need of you. He is the Rich One. You are the poor one.

I read somewhere that if you think you are so rich to feed the poor, Allah (swt) can say, “Feed all of My Creation one meal.” Can you feed all the creation of Allah (swt), including the insects and the birds, etc.? You can’t do that so why are you proud when you feed 10, 20 people? “I spread the sheets on the streets and I fed one million people.” Allah (swt) spreads the sheets everyday for all of His Creation.

Don’t allow your ego to go up. They say, “We are strong.” They go in front of the mirror and think they are Arnold Swartzenger. “I am like him too.” If you are strong then push death away. Fight the Angel of Death when he comes to seize your soul. You can’t.

That is the ego that acts as if it is high. You are not high. You are doing whatever you are doing by the Rahmah of Allah (swt). That’s why we always say, “Alhamdulillah.” Humble yourself. For those who are not perfect Muslims, perfect your conduct. Those who have perfect conduct, humble yourself. It is not from you but from the Rahmah of Allah (swt). That is our way.

They say the Sufis are easygoing and humble. You are supposed to be like that. Rasoolullah (s) said, man tawwad`a lillah raf`ahullah. Whoever humbles himself down, Allah (swt) raises him up. If you raise yourself up, Allah (swt) will crush you. Look at how many tyrants throughout history raised their heads saying, “We are this and that.” What happened in the end? They died the death of zaleel. Some of them were hung, others were blown away. Where is your bigness? I don’t need to mention names. You know the tyrants throughout history.

May Allah (swt) forgive us. Perfect your iman. Don’t worry, Allah (swt) is Ar-Razzaq, Allah (swt) is Al-Khaliq. Allah (swt) knows what’s going on with you. He will support you and all of us, inshaa-Allah.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
