Masjid Baitul Ihsan, Bank of Indonesia
(Recites Salaat al-Faatih.)
Alhamdulillah for who took us under the Beloved. He is the Beloved... Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! We seek your intermediation from this place, to intercede for us in Allah's Presence and to present us in His Presence pure and clean, with “no fear on them, nor do they grieve.” (10:62) Blessings and peace be upon you! He (s) is the cause of all Creation. He is the cause for Allah to create the Creation in honor of him. We are now entering the month of Mawlid.
O believers, mu’mins! We are asking the Prophet (s) from this masjid and he can hear us and he can see us, to take us under his shafa`ah to the Presence of Allah's Divine Presence, to cleanse us of all sins for the sake of His Beloved One that Allah stafa huw, that He built him up and dressed him with noorun `ala noor, “Light upon Light”, noorun `ala noor, noorun `ala noor, noorun `ala noor, Light upon Light, Light upon Light, Light upon Light until he became Light in the Presence of Allah (swt)!
إِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاء وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
Innaka laa tahdee man ahbabta wa laakin Allaha yahdee mayyashaa wa Huwa `aalamu bi’l-muhtadeen
It is true thou wilt not be able to guide every one, whom thou lovest; but Allah guides those whom He will and He knows best those who receive guidance. (Surat al-Qasas, 28:56)
“Don’t guide whom you like, Allah guides whom He likes.” But Prophet (s) was asking the Creator, “Yaa Rabbee, haa oolaai ummatee, fa shafi`nee feehim wa shafi`nee bihim, they are my ummah, give them to me! Yaa Rabbee, give them to me.” And on the Day of Judgement, Allah (swt) gives all of Ummat an-Nabi (s) Paradise without question! Bi shafa`atee an-Nabi (s), He takes them all. Be happy! The month of Prophet (s) is coming, be happy! Mawlid an-Nabi (s) qaadhibun, fafrahoo, wa bi dhaalika yafrahoo! Bi rahmatillahi fal-yafrahoo, for the love of Prophet (s) be happy! Allah says in the Holy Qur’an He is going to give us to Prophet (s) completely without any sins, but we have to be thankful by praying and fasting and doing our obligations.
May Allah (swt) keep us at the feet of Prophet (s)! This is the cause of entering Paradise, may Allah make us under his shoes, under his feet, to take us with him to Paradise.
Muhammad basharun wa laysa ka ‘l-bashari huwa yaaqootatun wa naasu ka ‘l-hajari.
Muhammad is a man, but not like other men! He is a gem and human beings are stones.
(Shaykh Muhammad al-Busayri, Burdat ash-Shareef)
Huwa noorun and everyone else is dark. Yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah! He is the noor from the Noor. One day Sayyida `Ayesha, may Allah be pleased with her, was sewing at night and after sewing she was putting the things away and she dropped the needle. She tried to find it and there was no light to find the needle, not like today where there is light everywhere, and she was afraid to step on it or that the Prophet (s) would step on it, and she was looking and looking, and the Prophet (s) is an-Noor al-Mubeen.
When Jaabir (r) asked, “Let my father and mother be sacrificed for you, oh Prophet of Allah! What is the first thing that Allah (swt) created?” the Prophet (s) said, “The first thing that Allah (swt) created is the Light of your Prophet from His Light, O Jaabir.” (Musannaf `Abdu ’r-Razzaq)
The first that Allah created was the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s): there was no Creation, there was nothing, so the first thing that Allah created was the Light of His Prophet.
So the Prophet (s) entered in the room and as soon as he entered he was glowing, his Light was shining more than a sun, more than a moon, his Light was spreading all over the room and she looked and found the needle through the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! Above him is Light and behind him is Light, and he is “Light upon Light!” She found the needle from the Light of the Prophet (s). He is noor above him, noor below him, noor on the right of him, noor on the left, noor in the front, noor at the back: he is noorun `ala noor, Noor upon Noor. He entered the room and it was dark and as soon as he entered it was shining from his Light and everything will be seen through his Light.
When Allah created the Light of His Beloved Chosen One, the entire universe became shining with that Light, and all Heavens were shining with that Light and all Earths and seas and mountains and all things were filled with that Light! Allah created the Creation with that Light. With his Light we saw the universe and with his Light everything is appearing. You cannot see Creation in darkness: if you put off the light in this masjid you see nothing and if you open the light you see everything with the light, men and women and children, the carpet the doors and walls, the windows. Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is the one that Allah created to be Light, and for everyone to be shining with his Light. His Light will intercede for us on the Day of Judgment and the Prophet (s) will be asking to take us to Paradise and Allah will give him the green Light and all his ummah will go with him into Paradise!
They say and they don't know that what they say are only theories, that a great explosion, the Big Bang happened and everything came out, and they say it was a gaseous atmosphere in which the gases collided with each other causing everything to appear. No, it is not true! When Allah says "Kun!" fa yakoon, it doesn't need a ‘Big Bang.’ But what happened to awliyaullah, to `ulama al-Ummah is that the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), when Allah created the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), that Light was turning in the Ocean of Power, Bahr al-Qudrah. He (swt) is al-Qadir al-Muqtadir. As Prophet (s) was turning, he was producing more and more noor and shaking from fear of Allah and was giving off the sound of explosions. And as it was turning, these planets were appearing, the driving force that was like a huge explosion coming from the fear of the Light of Prophet (s) turning and making energy, and from that Allah created Creation as mentioned in many ahadith.
The Prophet (s) knows everything in Creation as it is coming from his Light--stars, planets, solar systems, all planets, all galaxies, billions and billions of stars--all of them are shining because of the Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), so pray on the Prophet (s), salloo `ala an-Nabi (s). Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Muhammadun basharun wa laysa ka ‘l-bashari huwa yaaqootatun wa naasu ka ‘l-hajari. Imam Busayri (r) says, “Muhammad is a human being, but not like human beings, he is a diamond and everyone else is a pebble, rocks.” To awliyaullah, they say that the Prophet (s) is Light but not like any light, bal huwa diyaaun wan-naasu fee zhulami, he is a diyaa, not only a noor, but it is producing light for everyone and everyone else is in darkness. Muhammadun noorun wa laysa kan-noori.
He is a Light, but not like these lights (overhead); these lamps give light, but the real noor is the Light from which Allah created everything. It is not like any other light. That Light knows how many human beings have been born, how many Creations have been created and he knows everything from his noor. He is the “Light upon Light” and everyone else is in darkness!
And this secret is what came in the verse in Holy Qur'an :
وإعلموا أن فيكم رسول الله
W`alamoo anna feekum rasoolullaah.
And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)
“Know that the Light of the Prophet (s) is within you.” With that Light everything is appearing and with that Light everything can be seen, because that Light is from what everything was created. Allah created that Light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and that was turning in the Bahr al-Qudrah, and from that Light Allah created Creation.
Huwa al-habeebu al-ladhee turjaa shafa`atuhu, li kulli hawlin min al-ahwaali muqtahimi.
He is the Beloved whose intercession is dearly sought against every terror's onslaught.
(Shaykh Muhammad al-Busayri, Burdat ash-Shareef)
He is the Beloved of Allah that everyone is seeking his shafa`ah in every dangerous situation, as for every danger that is necessary, to seek his shafa`ah. That is why Allah (swt) made him His Beloved One! The Beloved One asks anything and He gives. If you have a child, anything that child will ask the father will give. What do you think about the Creator, al-Khaliq, Hu Allah? Allah is the Creator and the Prophet (s) is His Sincere Servant, if he asks he will be given! He is asking shafa`ah for his ummah from the day he was born, and Islam is from the day of the birth of the Prophet (s), and from that day the Prophet (s) is asking intercession for his ummah to enter Paradise and for sure Allah will give!
Don’t try to humiliate Allah's servants, it might be one between us all here, we don't know which one carries the power to shake dunya. Allah gives power to people like that. Bahrud-deen was just here singing, that qasida of Ahmad al-Badawi (r) from Egypt, in a village called Tanta. Every year on his birthday or death day, 4-5 million people will go visit his grave and make du`a there. Ahmad al-Badawi was an `alim, scholar. He was Shaykh al-Islam, the head of Muslim scholars in Egypt, but he was so sincere in his prayer always asking, “Yaa Rabbee! Open for me Your door. I need the key for Your door, give me the key.” Every day he was asking, every night when people are sleeping. He was Shaykh al-Islam, the highest level of Muslims in Egypt and he was asking, “O Allah! Where is that key to your Paradise?” He was asking all the time, without stopping. Allah is checking if you are persistent in asking. So keep asking and Allah will give, don’t worry. If He didn’t give you today He will give you tomorrow, and if He didn't give in dunya He will save it for you in Akhirah because it is better for you there.
One day a man came to him, a stranger, not from a city, not from the village, came to Ahmad al-Badawi (q) and said to him, without addressing him as “Shaykh al-Islam,” “Yaa Ahmad! I have the key for you. You want the key, I will give you.” Allah will give him the key after, but look, he was a scholar and some scholars are arrogant. He was proud of his knowledge, so anyone proud of his `ilm, that `ilm has no noor and it is better to throw it. You need `ilm with noor, with humbleness.
So Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “No! I don’t need you, I will take the key from The Keymaker, from Allah directly!”
The stranger said, “Okay,” and he left. He left him and Ahmad al-Badawi continued at night asking Allah, “Yaa Rabbee, open for me. I need the key, I need the key,” until he heard a voice from an angel inspired in his heart:, saying, “O Ahmad! Allah sent someone with the key, but you didn’t take it. (What transpires in) this dunya is through causes, but you wanted the key directly from The Keymaker, from Allah, as you were arrogant and proud. What right do you have to ask for the key from The Keymaker? You are not yet on the right track! So you missed the chance, go ask the key from that person, as your key is with him and you are never going to get it from anyone else!”
But that man hid himself from Ahmad al-Badawi and for six months he was looking for that man and finally he found him.
That man asked him, “Yaa Ahmad, do you want the key now?”
He said to him, “Yes I do, I am kissing your hand! Please give me the key.”
That man said, “No. I came before and you said you only want it from ‘The Keymaker.’ Don’t you know that there is a huge line behind the Prophet (s) and His Sahaabah (r) asking for that key? I came before and was giving it for nothing, but now I need the price for it, now I need my money for it.”
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “Whatever you want! I have nothing, but I will give you this amount.”
He said, “No."
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “Then I will give you more money.”
He said, “No.”
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “I will give you my home.”
“No.”
“I will give you my books.”
“No.”
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “Then what do you want?”
He said, “What you want to give me is dunya, but Allah gave us dunya and Akhirah. We don’t need your dunya! I need something (more valuable) from you in order to give the key.”
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “Okay, what do you want?”
He said, “I need your knowledge, I need your `ilm, that `ilm from which you say you are ‘Shaykh al-Islam.’ You are full of arrogance and that `ilm that makes you say, ‘I am an `alim.’ I need that `ilm as you cannot build a structure on arrogance. I need that `ilm. I cannot give you your amanah with all your arrogance. You have to be humble and simple, and you have to know that above every knower there is a higher knower. (10:76)”
Ahmad al-Badawi (q) said, “Okay, how can I give you my knowledge?”
He said, “Look into my eyes,” and he looked into the wali’s eyes and that wali looked into his eyes, and he was pulling (out his knowledge) like a vacuum cleaner and he made him to be not knowing anything, completely forgetting everything, like with Alzheimer's, finished! He had amnesia, finished, completely not knowing anything and he left Ahmad al-Badawi (q) and disappeared. He didn’t give him his key yet and left him to go like majnoon in the streets to show him his arrogance!
Don't think awliyaullah are cheap! It is not easy to become a wali. Allah sends millions of tests; wilayah has a price. And he left him and Ahmad al-Badawi (q) was going in the street, not even knowing how to read Surat al-Fatihah, and children were throwing stones and playing games with him (taunting him) and making him look so bad.
That wali disappeared for six months and when he re-appeared after six months, Ahmad al-Badawi (q) ran and hugged him, saying, “Please, don’t go this time!
And that wali said, “Now you are ready, I will give you the key now. Look into my eyes,” and he began to pour heavenly, Divine knowledge into his heart through his eyes until he became a light. No one was able to look into the eyes of Ahmad al-Badawi after that. He was given so much Light that he had to wear a burqa over his eyes; otherwise, not even his family could look at him or they would faint (from his tajalli).
Wilayah is important, but it is a struggle between good and evil, and if you become good then you will enter into that ocean of knowledge, or else you will still be struggling. May Allah forgive us and bless us. Inshaa-Allah all of you become awliyaullah. Inshaa-Allah all of us are under the Light of the Prophet (s)!
من صلى علي مرة صلى الله عليه بها عشرا
Man salla `alayya marratan, salla ’Laahu `alayhi bihaa `ashara.
Whoever prays on me one time, Allah prays on him ten times. (Sahih)
Whoever makes salawaat on the Prophet (s), Allah will send to us ten salawaat. Be happy when you are making salawaat on the Prophet (s), because Allah is sending to you ten more! And His salawaat cannot be compared to our salawaat, it will save you in dunya and Akhirah and cause us to enter Paradise! May Allah forgive us and bless us. [Bay`a.] Wa ‘s-salaam `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
