Lifting the Mureed’s Veils

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillaahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem.

Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,

nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta'ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.

أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ الرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. Madad yaa Sayyidee. When we say “madad,” it means that we are asking for support, and from Whom does support come? From The Owner of Support, meaning that support and that power comes to the one who is in need of it. There are some powers you can see and some you cannot; that is why you must not mix things together, or else you will lose your focus.

Everyone wants to reach Prophet (s), as they were just mentioning in the qasidah. Is it possible to reach him or not? [Yes, Mawlana. ] That is one tafseer, you cannot reach the other tafseer; no matter how much you want to express it, you cannot. These (mobile phones) are all toys to keep people attracted from what is nooraani to what is Shaytani. How are you going to pass all the obstacles when, according to Grandshaykh (q), there are 70,000 veils between us and Prophet (s). Imagine, every veil has no beginning and no end!

`Ulama are fighting with each other; yes, they understand Shari`ah, but they cannot go deep into spiritual power. So you must pass 70,000 veils in order to reach Prophet (s). Grandshaykh (q) gave us an example for us to understand how far those 70,000 veils are: as if you are at the feet of Grandshaykh (q) asking for the veils to be lifted. This cannot be done except to reach Prophet (s), as that requires his power.

If all of us gathered here get together and try, we still cannot understand anything from the Reality of Prophet (s). Awliya have the power to remove things, and that is why sometimes you see people are able to perform miracles, which is authentic as it is coming from Prophet (s).

He said it is like the beads of a tasbeeh: you begin counting from the top backwards. The other power that you cannot see is to take away the veil from the front in order for them to be less and less, and then the veils will be lighter and lighter, and so transparent that you will be able to see what cannot be seen. This can be done through a Murshid al-Kaamil, the guide whose every action is perfect. When they reach that level, then that Reality of an-Noor al-Muhammadi (s) will open to them.You have to know that as long as you are moving forward and pushing back what needs to be thrown out, the veils become more transparent, and you begin to share with your peers what you are seeing. When that happens, the lifting of the veils of different Tariqahs will then be closed, but the lifting of the veils of nooraaniyah will continue so that you may get more and more.

Fifty years ago, I remember Grandshaykh said, "We open the veils from the beginning." They open the veils to all the Tariqahs from the beginning and count from above to down, so they are still in the same place. You are not moving because you are trying to, let's say, move on a stationary bicycle, pedaling but staying in your place. In a car, when you use the gas pedal, you produce energy that allows you to move. The true shaykh takes you to do that, but in Reality, the Tariqah of Grandshaykh (q) that he inherited from Prophet (s) and the Sahaabah (r) takes you riding like a rocket in order to achieve what they have for you. It is not like us, one song here and one song here, one recitation here and one there, and when everyone leaves everything stays as it is.

Allahumma salli wa sallim wa baarik `alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin wa `alaa alihi Sayyidina Muhammad. Khalaqa ‘n-nabi, salAllahu `alayhi wa sallam min anfasikum. He created Prophet (s) “from among you in the perfect way.” (Surat at-Tawbah, 9:128)

We are asking, yaa Rabbee, from this place from which we have no power, open for us what is between us and Prophet (s)! If we say, adabanee rabbee fa ahsana t'aadeebee, to open to Prophet (s) and Prophet (s) opens to us, it's a must. When someone makes salawaat on Prophet (s), he makes salawaat on them multiplied by ten, and sometimes by 777. It is according to our work: if we are min al-dhaakireen, it will open up from the level of dhaakireen whether we do or not, and because we are weak we cannot. We are asking, “Yaa Rabbee! You created us and You said,’ Do this.’”

Who has the power to respond to Allah's (swt) Order? No one! He ordered us:

ياأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

O Believers! Pray upon him and greet him with a worthy salutation. (Surat al-'Ahzaab, 33:56)

He is ordering us to make salawaat on Prophet (s). Allah's Order is not like ours: if He orders, the whole universe that you are seeing would melt completely. Awliyaullah are working to open the power of that ghayb, but all that needs a Murshid al-Kaamil, like we need a charger, and as long as it is strong we will be strong.

So, salawaat on Prophet (s) is necessary in order to improve our understanding of the Reality that ascends on him every moment, so remain connected day and night. They might ask, how to be connected at night? When you make wudu, pray, and then sleep, you remain connected. Allahumma salli `alaa Sayyidina Muhammad hattaa yardaa Sayyidina Muhammad.

Prophet (s) is waiting for every individual, every sincere and pious person, even if they weren't successful to do like Awliya, even if he walked like an ant, he would still receive as if he was getting knowledge from Awliyaullah. It is ordained for you from the wilaya of your shaykh to be dressed in his power and the Anbiyaa dress them and present them to Prophet (s), who then presents them to the Divine Presence.

Our tears are very precious, from Hadaa’iq al-Jannah, Gardens of Heavens. Anyone who takes a sip and drinks, it is as if he is taking a sip from Paradise, as Prophet (s) said.

So as soon as you enter Hadaa’iq al-Jannah, through one sip, it continues mentioning Prophet (s) and making salawaat on him until the Day of Judgement, so don't think when you drink it from here that it will disappear! For every sip, Allah assigns 300 angels to carry it through the whole body, making it a noorani place.

Let us be responsible and know what is going on around us, in order for us to see that there is something different, even when you close your eyes and make tafakkur, as the Qur'an says:

الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىَ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذا بَاطِلاً سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the Creation of the Heavens and the Earth, (saying) "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose! Glory to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire." (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:191)

Allah is saying---not you or me, not even Prophet (s) in the way that we understand, it is in a way we don't understand---it is all in the hand of Prophet (s). Alladheena yadhkuroonAllaaha qiyamaan wa qu`oodan, "Those who remember Allah standing, sitting or lying down," will be lead to tafakkur. It is not like today, how some are running to embrace Hinduism and Buddhism. Yes, today people are in fitna. Why do they believe the guru more than mashayikh, Awliya? I know people who go up mountains and cross rivers in the jungle meditate naked. What kind of meditation is that?

If you ask, "Why do you meditate like that?" the reply, "This way will take me to Paradise." If you tell them, "You are not in real Paradise, you are in dunya Paradise,” They say, "No, no, I have to find Paradise (in a) naked (state)." That is why many people follow them, because dunya is...what they are doing? We are not allowed to scream at them, but we are allowed to advise them to come back to normal, and even there are Muslims amongst them. To them, that is Paradise! SubhaanAllah.

This camera can record every second: the camera detects when we inhale and exhale, and we don't know if it makes salawaat or not.

تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا

The Seven Heavens, the Earth, and everything that is inside them praise Him. There is not a thing but celebrates His praise, but you do not understand their praise. Truly, He is Clement and Most-Forgiving. (Surat al-Israa’, 17:44)

Allah said, "You cannot understand," wa laakin laa tafqahoona tasbeehahum. There is a fact there: Allah is saying, not anyone else; Prophet (s) is saying, not anyone else; mashayikh are saying, not anyone else; and you cannot understand what they say. It means we are still in kindergarten. If after all these years we don't understand what Tariqah is, salaamun `alaa ‘l-ma`arifah, no one understands the duties and obligations of Tariqah from the spiritual side, but unfortunately they are deaf and dumb.

صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ

Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path). (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:18)

حم تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَمَّا أُنذِرُوا مُعْرِضُونَ

Ha-Meem. The Revelation of the Book is from Allah, The Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. We created the Heavens and the Earth and all what is between them only for just ends, and for an appointed term, but those who reject faith turn away from whatever they are warned. (Surat al-Ahqaf, 46:1-3)

Allah is advising us through the Holy Qur’an, “I am The One Who brought Holy Qur’an for you,” not Christo or Crystal, or all these other names. Allah (swt) sent advice to His servants: take it if you like, and if not, then judgement is for Allah, not us.

May Allah (swt) forgive us and give us the power to understand the Reality of Prophet (s).

As I explained earlier, Awliya remove the veils from the back; however, there are some Awliya who show miracles. These Awliya do not start from the back of the spiritual reality, but from the front. They enter that limited area and do not take the power from the back. When they do that, miracles begin to appear immediately through them. But what to think about those who are on the other side, doing the same but with more power? They are able to see what the first group of Awliya cannot see. So the first group who cannot see is enjoying the area that was given to them, and that is through the spiritual power of the Naqshbandi Order.

It depends on the shaykh. For all of us, through Mawlana Shaykh Nazim they help us remove veils from the back, which increases their power immensely and then they begin to see what Prophet (s) wants them to see. They continue to move forward until they reach the middle and then stop there because they become happy with what they have. Then those who have been in Tariqah for fifty to sixty years see themselves in the back row and not in the front, but they are still children in Tariqah.

Grandshaykh (q) said that this is because whoever is using their time for miracles, it will not open for them in dunya, but in Akhirah. Awliya want their mureeds to take their Amaanah in Akhirah. If you want to take your Amaanah in dunya, you are going to waste a lot of time, but when you take it straight from your shaykh, he will make you jump from one side to the other and you will end up on the right side.
