Ati'oollah wa ati'oor-rasula wa uli'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet (s) and obey those in authority. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)
People they don't know what is good for them and what is bad for them and that is why in their lives they struggle a lot because "I do this or I do that?" and they cannot choose between both. Sometimes you can see something good and you do it and it is good. But many times also you think something is good but it turns out not good. And this world is based on that, to choose the right way. In order that you make progress in your life. and most important is that we must be accepting anything that we see, even if it is something that is not accepted to the others but is not accepted to you or you see it is not working for you, don't try to criticize the others but help them in their decision and do what you feel is good for you and go ahead with that and don't criticize and don't complain. Because the Prophet (s) said that there are angels when you see someone and you are jealous of him or her and you begin to pray that he would not have that thing or not have this thing then these angels say, "and you will have the same." Allah made them to say whenever you are criticizing His servants Allah will send someone to criticize you and the angels will be praying for you also falling into this difficulty.
Many people in their lives, not most, but all people except the Prophets, Sahaba and saints make mistakes. And these mistakes we have to look into them that Allah (swt) made us to do mistakes because when you do mistakes you remember and you are forgiven.
Sayyidina Adam (as), the father of human beings with his wife the mother of human beings, they made a mistake. In order to ask forgiveness; to come to the concept of forgiveness. That concept was not in Paradise, because angels never made mistakes. And Allah wanted to teach the angels [to know] that if My support is not with you, you will also fall into mistakes. And this is what happened to Iblees who was the leader of all the angels and who was thinking he is at the highest level and who was the head of the angels in Paradise. Allah said, "make sajda to Adam" and all the angels did but he did not. Allah wanted to show "You are the head of the angels and you did a mistake; you fell down."
The difference between him and Sayyidina Adam (as) is that Sayyidina Adam (as) asked repentance. So the concept of repentance came with the concept of a mistake. Without doing a mistake you don't know the importance of forgiveness. When you do a mistake and you asked forgiveness. And Allah forgives you and on Judgment Day you see that Allah has forgiven you, you understand the greatness of the concept of forgiveness.
And that is why as is mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet (s) that there were two brothers, one in the city and one in the mountains. After that one spent his whole life in the city and through his life making all kinds of mistakes and sins in his businesses and his brother all that time in the mountain doing all kinds of worshipness. That one in the city said to himself, “I wasted my life. I need and I seek forgiveness.. I will go to my brother and sit with him on the mountain. maybe Allah will forgive me.” All his life was in sins.
La taqnatoo min rahmatillah
Do not lose hope of Allah's mercy. Even if you keep doing the sin. Don't give up hope of Allah’s Mercy.
That man on the mountain at the same time was thinking, I spent my whole life on the mountain wasted and I spend my whole life in praising Allah and doing Dhikr, let me go join my brother who is enjoining his life in the city. that one going down to the city to enjoy life. The other one from the city is going up to the mountain to be pious and be in worship and asking forgiveness and that one is going down to the city to enjoy.
Allah sent the angels of death to take their souls. So the angels of death were confused. They don’t know where to take these two. That one is going down with the intention to enjoy his life. He didn’t do anything yet, but that intention is there.
So the angels are confused they don't know where to take them to Paradise or to Hellfire. and Allah (swt) told angels of death, “measure the distance. If that one going up to the mountain passed halfway even by one centimeter, take him to Paradise, and the other one the `abid worshipper coming to the city, if he passed halfway by even one centimeter, then take him to Hellfire.”’
So here we see in the holy hadith that innamaa al-`amaalul bin-niyyaat, everything is according to intention. . ...Allah will save you. Look that one spent his whole life in sin... he did not reach where he is going to ask forgiveness. he did not reach the place where it is important to ask forgiveness....Allah sent him to Paradise. so it is our duty to always seek the means in order that Allah will forgive us and bless us and take care of us. and Allah has sent the Prophet (s) as Seal of Messengers to show us the way. but we are uneducated. I dont mean by uneducated you are not a doctor or lawyer or plumber or whatever, but we are uneducated in understanding the message. The heavenly message is more important to be studied than any kind of science. You can study them and become Phd but imagine whatever you become even a PhD in Islamic Studies, you cannot understand how the Prophet (s) was reciting the verses of Holy Qur'an and with what sound you never heard that.
So we cannot, with whatever we studied and become scholars in Islamic Shariah we are still children in understanding the Islamic Shariah, we are still illiterate. So when you become illiterate, meaning when you confess you know nothing, then Allah makes you to know everything.
Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was illiterate but with all that Allah gave to him he still said “I don't know anything.” He said I am illiterate. Yes in dunya, but he was not illiterate when Sayyidina Adam (as) was between clay and water. The Prophet (s) is never illiterate. He knew everything.
awwal ma khalaq Allahu nuur nabiyyak ya Jaabir and put his light all over Paradise.
The Prophet (s) is not illiterate. Illiterate in the concept of reading and writing, but not illiterate in the concept of heavenly messages.
So these secrets and the ...are heavenly. How much the Prophet (s) gave to us? we don't know. How much Allah gave to him. We know what the Prophet (s) gave to Sahaba and Sahaba to Tabi`een and Tabi`een to Tabi` Tabi`een. We know what.. the hadith was compiled after the Prophet (s) by 100 years. 4 Imams.
That was all the hadith of the Prophet (s) compiled by Imam Bukhari, 4000 hadith. There are hundreds of thousands of hadith. Imam Ahmad said, I memorized from the Prophet (s) 400,000 hadith. I know what is true and what is not true. I collected and compiled all that.
So we say to ourselves we are uneducated. So when you confess you admit you know nothing and you confess you know nothing. Not to people but accepted 100 % by yourself and you have to admit that “yes I don't know anything and Allah is my witness and the Prophet (s) is my witness.” If they accept that is correct then they will confirm for you. But still if you have even one millionth of a fraction that still your ego says “I know something” then never will they open to you these secrets.
So Allah made Awliyaullah part of the Ummah but Allah gave them a speciality that they confessed that they know nothing. They confessed that to themselves and they killed their ego completely in their heart by saying "I know nothing" and Allah bore witness on that and the Prophet (s) bore witness on that. Otherwise they will never be given the wilayah.
There is the story of Khawaja 'Abdul-Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q) and his student. He had a student between many of his students and that student is different from the others, but the others looked at him in a bad way. So the shaykh one day called him and told him, "you are polluting everyone of your friends and your brothers and whenever you do something you don't do it well. I am going to send you to do a business, and to look after the sheep, my sheep which we milk and we eat from them and drink from their milk. So you go and graze them in the mountains and come in the evening and that is your duty and you come every night and bring their milk. When they become pregnant you deliver the babies and increase the flocks."
He said, "Ok ya Sayyidee" and he took them and went. He was going in the morning and coming in the evening, going in the morning and coming in the evening, going in the morning and coming in the evening. Finally he did not go. After some time, one year, two years, the Shaykh saw him sitting in the mosque. The shaykh is making a test for him. He looked at him and said, "What are you doing here? I sent you to the farm."
He said, "I don't have any more sheep."
The shaykh said, “What happened to them?”
He said, "I see all these poor people and I said to myself, ‘My Shaykh has many sheep and my Shaykh, Allah will give him more. Let me feed these people.’ So when Ramadan comes I slaughter and give out the meat. When 27th of Rajab comes I slaughter and feed the people. When 15th Sha`ban comes I slaughter. For Muharram I slaughter for Sayyidina al-Hasan and Sayyidina al-Husayn. And I say let the people eat. I finished them.
The shaykh said, “You are the worst of the mureeds” in front of everyone. And the people said “O that one is very bad.” But the heart of that mureed never changed. His love towards the shaykh never changed. The shaykh was bombarding him. They speak about him bad and they spread rumors everywhere, gossip everywhere about him. In that time and still today, we see this within our own Naqshbandi-Haqqani Tariqah, people have rumors and people will speak. but never mind.
In the evening, he was in the mosque, when they had prayed Isha everyone went out and he stayed. They closed the door. but he stayed. His name was O'kallisa Muhammad. He was speaking to himself from behind one of the pillaress he was mentioning his own name speaking to himself. He said, "You are the worst of the students, as my shaykh said." He was agreeing and accepting. He did not say, “Why is my shaykh against me? I am doing my best.” No he said, “You are the worst between the mureeds.”
He said, “Wallahi, my wife Fatima, will be divorced from me, not 3 times but 6 times, if I am not the worst between the mureeds.”
Do you understand? Ask them if they understand.
So Islamically when you have a problem between husband and wife there is a divorce. You divorce three times. When you divorce and then have reconciliation and bring her back, and divorce and then bring her back, but after three times you cannot bring her back. Finished. Allah gave you three choices.
So to make sure that what he is saying to himself is true, to convince himself he said, “My wife will be divorced 6 times not 3 times.” He is not divorcing his wife in reality, but it means she cannot come back to me if I was lying to myself or if I was saying that as showing off in saying "I am the worst of the mureeds." Understood? but ..
Zainab, explain to them in French…
He believed himself to be the worst of the mureeds, although he is not, later I will explain. So he is the worst of the mureeds, and that is why he said, "If I was not then I cannot go to my wife," in order to convince and confirm himself that he is the worst of the mureeds.
Then when he said that he heard a voice from behind another of the pillars of the mosque, “hahahah.” His shaykh was there, hearing him. He said, "come. That is what I was waiting for from you: to confess that you are the worst. No more ego, your ego has been killed. Now come, I am going to give you your trust, your amanah. Now come sit and he sat on his knees and his knees to his and pointing with his shahada finger and his shaykh moving it (demonstrates moving finger in circle) he opened to his heart 6 powers, Haqiqat al-jazba, Haqiqat al-tawajjuh, Haqiqat al-fayd, Haqiqat al-tawassl, Haqiqat al-tay, Haqiqat al-irshad.
I explained that many times you can go back to the Sufi Science book so he opened to his heart the six realities to the heart and made him the calipha to the followers. You see with the right finger, the Shaykh was moving it.
He was moving his shahada finger and moving in circle to his heart. look tech of Awliya they have remote control. look they have remote control now for cars, for DVDs, for computers. press and it works. They don't yet have remote on human beings. You don't have remote control for human beings. But really they have. Awliyaullah they can press on their fingers and they move the hearts of people. Who is putting you to sit here?
That remote control that Allah gave to Awliyaullah can move the hearts. If they want to bring the whole community in the area they can bring them crawling on their chests to come and hear.
Grandshaykh one time said, "If I want to bring, and I don't want to show that miracle but if I want to bring the whole of Damascus, Sham to hear my lectures in the blink of an eye I can make them come on their chests running to hear my lectures to attend what I am saying. But no permission.
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani if he wants, already it is full there. There is no place to put more people.
Awliyaullah if they want to open it is like a magnet. Awliyaullah Allah gave them remote controls in their bodies and anywhere they move they change the hearts of people. When they change the hearts of people when the hearts move it is like a magnet.
With one movement if Mawlana authorized, with one gesture they will not move; they will not be eating or drinking, only sitting and making Dhikrullah. But that authority has not yet opened.
Allah (swt) gave Awliyaullah that power. but using it today is not realistic to the situation. because the Prophet (s) said that in the last days ignorance will be increasing and darkness will increase. We only want to collect the quality of people.
We are only collecting quality people. because these quality people like you Allah will send them as ambassadors, wherever they move, without talking their presence will carry from people burdens. Allah is not bringing you here to play. Awliyaullah by permission of the Prophet (s) are dressing everyone coming with a dress that their presence anywhere will make people take the negative energy and give the positive energy. Like a receiver and emitting, receiving and transmitting.
You will be ayah min Ayaatillah, a sign of Allah's signs, moving between different communities, moving between different roads and different ways. Your presence will be enough, to be there, you don't talk [even]. You go to a mall you will be like magnets, taking negative energy from people and giving them positive energy. Carrying their sins, presenting it to your shaykh and your shaykh presenting the people clean to the Prophet (s), the Prophet (s) taking these sins, asking Allah's forgiveness, making shafa` for them and presenting them clean to Allah every 24 hours.
So when we confess we are uneducated, we truly are uneducated, because we don't know these secrets. We know how to pray and make wudu. Ok, everyone knows that that is already basic things, we know that.
Why did we open up that subject today? Today there was a sign when I was speaking to some people. That sign means the authorization of opening. and Mawlana gave permission to say that. I never said that before. I said that only one time about visiting the maqam.
This place Mawlana mentioned about it in the 70's and we never knew about that openly until we bought and established this place. In one of his lectures in England he said, "I am going to put a place there will be a place in the Midwest of America that people will go to and visit it. And he mentioned and I am quoting him. "It is like a house of pilgrimage." It is not the pillar of hajj, which we understand as the fifth pillar but he said, "It is a pilgrimage for people to go and it becomes like... why we go to hajj. To go there and to look and pray in front of Ka`ba. Is it not. because that is Allah's house. and Allah said, that the mosques are for Allah: inna al-masaajid lillah and they are the houses of Allah. So Ka`ba is the place where all people come and meet for hajj. He said, "I am going to put for the west a focal place that all of them will go and sit and focus and sit and study, it will become like a Ka`ba. That is not the Ka`ba of Mecca, there is only one Ka`ba, in Mecca, but it is symbolically speaking,a place that people visit; a spiritual Sufi place that people come, visit and go.
Why am I saying this? I am saying because today that opened up. There are Awliyaullah that come here and stay in this place. It was said in the 70's Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim with his seeing in the future he saw this place and when we got this place we were asking what is the number of the place. I was so surprised when we were signing the deed that it was 7007, on the name of the NaqshbandI saints. There are 7007 Naqshbandi saints. so in this place there are Awliyaullah that are passing from the whole west of America means whole America North and South, up and down they have to pass here for their way. it is like a way, what we say a station. when you have these airlines they each have their own hub, this is hub for Awliya that they come and stay and rest and they go, you cannot see them, and also taaifat al-jinn they come they stay and pray and go. Angels are always passing through. Anyone stays here, the responsibility will be on Mawlana Shaykh and is representative that he will carry the responsibility to carry that person of their sins.
The shaykh has given a pledge or oath that he has taken the responsibility that whoever comes and stays here he is carrying their sins, asking Allah's swt forgiveness and presenting them and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is the one responsible to clean them and present them to the Prophet (s) in order to be cleaned and to be presented to Allah (swt). And this is the speciality of this place that Awliyaullah passing, they see who is here, they see them, they touch them and bless them and they carry from them and they go. If, as I said before, there was permission you would be saying, “I am lucky if I am by the door” because there are too many people in the place. But that permission is not there yet. Because all this is choosing the quality of people and not the quantity. The quality of the people are those who come and stay and go. So even if I am not here, or no one is here, the Awliyaullah they come and pass by this place and they go, jinn, angels they come pass by this place, blessing and go.
That is why Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, said that khayrul-biqaa the best of the places after Mecca and Madina is Sham. Anyone who entered Sham even for one night the next day he will not have any sin on him. All his sins will be waived. This place its soil is from Sham and it had been taken from there and planted here and that is why Allah (swt) through the baraka of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and the help of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim and the baraka of grandshaykh that it was meant for him and it was meant for the Naqshbandis and for the people looking for guidance to be the sufi people and the most humble people and the most distinguished people between the ummah where there will be too much darkness and this will become a place for enlightenment.
It is not necessary and meant for there to be hundreds of thousands although the spiritual beings are in hundreds of thousands. But human beings are in numbers because it is the quality.
Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, may Allah give him long life, said to me, when I asked him a question. Because he was supposed to leave Cyprus and stay in Sham. I asked him, "Mawlana, why are you not moving to Sham or Lebanon where you want to be?" and as Grandshaykh said, and as always you said, before Sayyidina Mahdi (s) comes there are three big signs. One is the huge flood of Cairo and the second is the huge mountain near Istanbul, at the city of Bursa which is going to explode like a volcano and the third is the sinking of Cyprus. So I said, “Mawlana why am I seeing you so well established here.”
He said to me, “The soil of Sham is Cyprus and Sham has moved to Cyprus.”
Awliyaullah can move anything. They are not waiting for Ulama to accept what they say. They say what is inspired to their hearts. That is why no one can understand what they are saying like the sayings of ibn `Arabi of Sari as-Saqati or Junayd. Grandshaykh's talks, people cannot understand it. what they say was revealed to their hearts from the Prophet (s).
So he said that Sham has been moved to Cyprus. Sham is Cyprus and he is saying to you now, that part of Sham has been planted here, that he was mentioning that even in the '70s. So the sign to say ‘yes’ is the number 7007 [of the address of the farm]. So anyone who comes here to stay and goes will be blessed and his difficulties will be taken away. And visiting the Maqam of Grandshaykh will be a blessing for all of us.
That is why it is important to come and visit, because sometimes many people cannot go to visit Damascus or Cyprus. It is part of Sham here, and you can visit and take the same tajalli. I am here or not here. You are coming to a place that Mawlana Shaykh Nazim opened and made it possible to be blessed with his baraka and his dua.
May Allah forgive us. wa min Allah at-tawfeeq bi-hurmatil-fatiha
