A`udhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem
Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem
Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid
1400 years ago - like these days in Muharram al-Haraam in this Arabic month in the beginning of the hijrah year Sayyidina al-Husayn and his companions friends and his family were slaughtered and killed. He is the grandson of Sayyidina Muhammad (s). Bloodshed is always happening in every century in every time from the beginning of this dunya until the end it is never going to stop. Because there is an enemy that is always looking for an excuse to hurt people and that enemy is Iblis, the one that Allah cursed and threw him out of paradise because he disobeyed Allah . Prophet (s) always he was asking his Sahaba - and through his Sahaba to all human beings that: take care of my family.
قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَىٌ
qul la asalukum alayhi ajran illa al muwaddata fil qurba
Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of those near of kin." Ash-Shura [42:23]
I do not want anything from you except to make sure you have good intentions to my family children and grandchildren, and subhanallah always the children or grandchildren of prophet always until the Day of Judgment are tortured by people. Because these people are instruments of Shaytan.
Shaytan hates Sayyidina Muhammad (s). He, Iblis, was thinking he was going to receive that station Al-Maqam al-Mahmud - the Praiseworthy Station - but in reality it was for Sayyidina Muhammad (s) so from that time out of jealousy and envy which has been developed. At that time he was among the angels, so jealousy and envy made one who was among the angels to disobey. That is an important point. Jealousy and envy made an angelic one to disobey. This means then what about ourselves - we are not angels so what will jealousy and envy do to us? It will destroy us - that's why we have bloodshed. If Iblis was among angels, jealousy and envy threw him out of Paradise ,.... so for us jealousy and envy will throw us into hellfire. These two characteristics and many others will take a good person and make him a bad person. To take a person who is clean and turn him to a person who is unclean. Take a righteous one to be an evil one, dajjal one, to make someone a dajjal - what is dajjal? Who is dajjal? [antichrist].
Dajjal means anyone who covers his personality and what his intentions are. For sure Dajjal is the anti-Messiah who comes in the last days to… - he is a confusion, someone with confusions, fitna. And the Prophet (s) said, " “those living at that time have to be very careful; he will show paradise and hellfire whatever he says take the opposite - don't believe him.”
Today they say we are giving you paradise ....the physical signs are here. Dajjal is the one who covers his reality. Another meaning of dajjal is a liar. He covers himself, he paints himself with haqq, but he is on baatil. Today they tell you “we are offering you paradise.” You look and say “Oh very nice, I like it.” but in reality they are giving you hellfire-hell in this life and hereafter. They make everyone to run after his own jealousy and his own envy in order to conspire against everyone. He doesn’t care if people die or don't die he wants himself first.
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم والذي نفسي بيده لا يؤمن احدكم حتى يحب لأخيهمايحب لنفسه
The Prophet (s) said, "No one is a believer until he loves for his brother as he loves for himself.”
If you love for yourself something you must make sure you love for your brother the same thing you love for yourself. Brother here doesn’t mean biological it means any person. It means I like for everyone to have like me.
So today they show us Dajjal - everything painted from outside nice but inside it is iron. They say to you this is 24 kt gold - plated. They say at the end “plated”in small letters. They say at the beginning 24 kt gold - plated or silver-plated. So what will happen? A little scratch and it is gone - only iron there. That is dajjal - they are lying to you. They are giving the outside to look nice but the inside is completely rotten you cannot eat it. And we are believing it, we are running thinking we are going to live a nice life. Look what they did for you in the economical crisis - they built for you an empire of papers and in one moment your empire became in the dust bin - and the piles of paper itself became more valuable than what your empire is worth. And still we believe them. And still we believe with whatever they tell us.
So that jealousy and envy and hatred which changed an angelic one into Satan - it will change anyone to become a bad person. That is why it is very important to make sure that there are valuable issue in our lives we have to take care of them. Like this cup or bottle when it is empty we throw it (out). But we throw it because we have no wisdom - we say oh it is empty. But even if it is empty it is so valuable in a dessert when there is no water to fill it and carry it with you. At that time you will recognize its value. Now we have 20 or 30 bottles but when we don’t have something then we know the value. It means we are not understanding the value Allah gave in everything around us.
Allah sent Sayyidina Muhammad (s) Seal of Messengers to guide us to what is good for us not only from outside – silver-plated or gold-plated but the inside has to be clean, not rotten. For that reason there are many principles and fundamentals if we do we will be able to win Allah s love and Prophet's love. How many hadith prophet mentioned about dhikr - and we quoted many times these ahadith - ma jalasa qawman yadhkuroona-Allah illah hafathum al-mala’ika - there is no group of people sitting remembering Allah except the angels will come and encompass them and cover them and mention them in his Allah 's presence - these are valuable these associations these are opportunities that are not all the time opened. That's why we have to understand the importance of the association of dhikr at least every week Grandshaykh and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim said every week it is necessary to attend dhikr because it is a cleansing process, because it takes away all sins; all your sins will be erased and Allah changes sins into good tidings. So such associations are necessary by yourself even - if you cannot come recite the dhikr yourself at home. By yourself - no need to have anyone with you. It will be a cleansing process - as you clean your clothes you don’t throw them out this dhikr will clean us from within and outside.. then you are not anymore gold-plated you will be turned into 24 karat gold.
May Allah change us into 24 kt of light of Prophet (s) to dress us of that light to dress us of the dresses he dressed Sayyidina Muhammad (s) with to decorate us without looking at our shortcoming because our sins are too many. We are asking Allah to dress us for the sake of that one who gave up himself - how many gave themselves up for sake of benefit - first was Sayyidina Muhammad (s) who said,
ما أوذي نبي مثلما أوذيت
"I was the most tortured among all the prophets."
Then his children and grandchildren - they were killed and they never turned their back - He said "I am coming." Sayyidina al-Husayn gave a promise and against advice of many he kept going. When he arrived the supporters backed up, but he kept going - anyone who remembered that incident and fasted `Ashura - as when the Prophet (s) entered Madina and saw the Jews fasting.
في رواية لمسلم عن ابن عباس – رضي الله عنهما - أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قدم المدينة . فوجد اليهود صياماً يوم عاشوراء . فقال لهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : ما هذا اليوم الذي تصومونه ؟ فقالوا : هذا يوم عظيم . أنجى الله فيه موسى وقومه . وغرق فرعون وقومه . فصامه موسى شكراً . فنحن نصومه . فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : " فنحن أحق وأولى بموسى منكم " فصامه رسول الله صلى الله عليهوسلم . وأمر بصيامه
He asked them why they were fasting and they said, "because that day Allah saved Musa from Pharaoh.” The Prophet (s) said, "nahnu ahaqq bi musa - We have more right to Musa.”
And in `Am Fath - last year for hajj, in which the Prophet (s) did hajj, he said, “if Allah gives me life I will fast the ninth also” so who fasts `Ashura Allah will waive the sins of one year back - all your sins will be taken away. And that day Sayyidina al-Husayn was killed - you fast that day remember Sayyidina al-Husayn, you fast you will be saved. These jewels, diamonds that Allah gave to us, we have to appreciate them. These dhikr associations are to clean us from all these sins. May Allah bless us and send his best and highest manifestations on Sayyidina Muhammad (s) his family and children especially Sayyidina Abi `Abdillahal-Husayn wa rufaqa’ihi and Shuhada Karbala wa min Allah at-tawfiq bi hurmat al Fatiha.
