As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi ta`alaa wa barakaatuh. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma`een.
Alhamdulillah, `alhamdulillahi ‘l-ladhee hadaanaa wa maa kunnaa la-nahtadiya law laa an hadaana ‘Llah w ’alhamdulillahi ‘Lladhee sharrafanaa bi-an nakoona min ummati ‘l-habeebi ‘l-mustafaa `alayhi afdalu ’s-salaatu wa ‘s-salaam. Alhamdulillah that He guided us to Islam and we would not have been guided if not for His guidance!
O brothers and sisters, daughters and sons! Welcome to this event. I am not going to be long because we have to make ziyara here before Maghrib. Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (r) said that a man came to the Prophet (s) and said, Ansahnee yaa rasoolallah, “Give me an advice.” He gave a very simple answer that today they have put books and books on it. “Advise me, yaa Rasoolallah. What do I have to do?” The Prophet (s) said, laa taghdab, “Don't get angry.” Our problems today between families are that husbands and wives, brothers and sisters get angry. They don't think when they get angry that they cannot think anymore, thinking is lost. But if we leave anger and focus on what Allah (swt) has ordered us in the Holy Qur'an, Allah will open for us from that knowledge that He gave to the Prophet (s), where Prophet said, “Allah gave me `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ‘-Akhireen, the Knowledges of Before and After.”
Let us think a little bit about the greatness around us that we cannot observe because we are drunk with dunya and angry with each other, so dunya pulls us down. When Archimedes was in his bathtub, he shouted, wajadtuhaa, wajadtuhaa, “I found it, I found it! Eureka!” from ancient Greek. He was happy to find density, that wood floats on water. Are we not ashamed before Allah (swt) that we did not find Him, that we did not find His Prophet (s)?
It is only a very small example to put us on the track. Can a doctor, a lady, a wife, a husband, or a doctor that knows all kinds of medicine, know what time the soul will enter the womb of the mother? Those who claim they know everything, that is one thing: what time does the soul enter the womb of the mother? Is it on a Friday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 5 o’clock, at 6 o’clock sharp or at 5:20, 5:21 the soul will enter the womb of the mother? Can anyone know that? No one can find that secret, but Allah (swt) knows! So Allah wants you to prepare yourself to learn. What did He say in the Holy Qur'an?
Behold! In the creation of Heaven and Earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding, those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting and lying down on their sides, and contemplating the creation of the Heavens and the Earth. (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:190-191)
Those who make dhikrullah, “Remember Allah.” Let us ask ourselves how many hours in total do we sit and make dhikrullah: one hour, half-an-hour? Look at the child whom a mother is carrying, remembering him at every moment, but we are not remembering Allah (swt) every moment. Allah said, “Those who remember Me, standing [working, qiyaaman] and qu`oodan, sitting and lying down on their sides [when they go to bed]”, they remember three times and every time they take 1-3 hours to remember Allah.
I asked university students, which is greater or more difficult to create in Creation, a human being--man or woman--or the universe? Some people know because we spoke about it, but what will people normally say? They will say a simple answer, that a human being is more miraculous to be created, but Allah (swt) says:
لَخَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ النَّاس
Truly the creation of the Heavens and the Earth is greater than the creation of Man. (Surat Ghafir, 40:57)
The creation of Heavens and Earth is greater and stronger than the creation of human beings, which means there is `azhamah, Greatness in the creation of the universe and that is why we do not know what is in the universe. We know that we are in a galaxy of 80 billion stars. Imagine 80 billion stars in the galaxy in which we are living and every planet in that galaxy is bigger than this solar system, and Allah (swt) is asking, “What is greater, the creation of human beings or the creation of the universe?” Allah says, “No, the creation of the universe is more difficult.” There are 6,000 galaxies bigger than our galaxy and our galaxy looks like the head of a pin compared to them, so small!
So what a huge universe Allah (swt) created and He made the Prophet (s) to know about it; the only one who was able to move in the universe was the Prophet (s). He went into Ascension; not everyone can go into ascension, only the Prophet (s) reached Qaaba Qawsayni aw Adnaa. It means he reached beyond our universe, beyond all these galaxies that we know about through Physics, and galaxies we don’t know about, he moved through them all to reach a place where there is no place or time. Don't think that time exists. Time is imaginary, only for us to understand the hours. In reality there is no dimension called ‘time’; there are three dimensions, not four. If you take a moment and see how many fractions of a second there are, they found you can divide it into 1023 (meaning 23 zeros) parts (i.e. 10-23 seconds). They can dissect the second and on the 23rd division/fraction of zero, time disappears and only energy appears! No one can understand that energy, it is hidden. Awliyaullah are able to know because the Prophet (s) said that Allah says:
أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي
I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsi. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)
Allah (swt) says, “I am sitting with the one who remembers Me.” If you remember Him you will find Him. If you don't remember Him, He is not going to mention you. He is waiting for you, giving you an advantage to remember Him. If you remember Him, He remembers you.
Remember Me, I will remember you. (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:152)
The Prophet (s) asked the Sahaabah (r), “Who has the strongest imaan?” Does anyone here have imaan? Inshaa-Allah. The Prophet (s) asked the Sahaabah (r) who were sitting with him, man ashaddu imaanan, “Who has the strongest imaan from among Allah’s Creation?” They said, “The angels,” and the Prophet (s) said, “How can the angels not have strong imaan when they are making dhikrullah all day in Paradise?” They said, “Yaa Rasoolullah, then the Prophets.” The Prophet (s) said, “How can the Prophets not have strong imaan when Jibreel (a) is coming to them with Revelation? They know it is Revelation coming from Allah, so they have strong imaan!” What is left to say? There is nothing left. They said, “Us, your Sahaabah,” and the Prophet (s) said, “How can it be that you don’t have dtrong imaan when you have me? You must know that feekum rasoolullah, ‘the Prophet (s) is among you and within you’.”
And know Allah's Messenger is in you. (Surat al-Hujuraat, 49:7)
They said, “Angels must have strong imaan as they are in Paradise. Prophets must have strong imaan as they receive the Message. Sahaabah (r) must have strong imaan because they have you. So if all of these have strong imaan, then who are those with the strongest imaan?”
The Prophet (s) said:
أفضل الخلق إيمانا قوم في أصلاب الرجال ، يؤمنون بي ولم يروني
They believe in me without seeing me and they confirm what I say without having seen me. (Musnad al-Bazzar)
“There will come a people who did not see me and believe in me.” They have the Holy Qur'an and, “They did not see me and they believed in me; they have the strongest imaan.” ‘They’ are you! You are in the days of fitna and confusion, fitna that has entered every house and everyone who has an iPhone. You are keeping quiet. Make your iPhone halaal, not haraam. When we go to the butcher we ask,”Do you have halaal meat?” So make your phone halaal. How do we make it halaal? Let your phone remind you of dhikrullah, set it up to make istaghfirullah or idkhurullah every hour. Sayyidina `Azra`eel (a) is waiting, the grave is waiting. You have to take your measure to see how big the grave is, especially Shaykh Shaukat. Aashiq al-Rasul, a small grave. It brought to my mind that when Mawlana (q) passed away and we, me and my sons were putting him in the grave, subhaanAllah, he grew larger and his body was two meters long! Allah was showing His Favor on His true servants. [Zindabad!] So those who remember Allah (swt) as He mentioned in the Holy Qur'an:
الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىَ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ
Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting and lying down on their sides, and contemplating the creation of the Heavens and the Earth. (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:191)
“Standing, sitting and lying down they meditate and contemplate on the creation of Heavens and Earth.” When you do dhikrullah, Allah will open to you ma`rifat of how this universe appeared, “To see My Greatness.” We are not doing that, we are only remembering things that have no meaning, mainly fighting and problems. If we focus, we can see the hadith of the Prophet (s):
ستكون فتن كقطع الليل المظلم
There will be confusion like a chunk of dark nights.
“There will be fitna like chunks of darkness in the skies.” Today we are seeing huge fitna. No one can stop it. They are trying but cannot. Who is best at that time? The one who has nothing to do with that is better than the one who watched it on TV.
The one sitting is better than the one standing. (Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash`aree, Abu Dawud)
Before the Hour comes, there will be a tribulation like patches of dark night. A man will get up a believer and go to sleep a kafir, or will go to sleep a believer and get up an unbeliever, kafir. The one who sits will be better than one who stands and one who walks will be better than one who runs. Break your bows, cut their strings and strike your swords against stones. If someone comes to kill any of you, then be like the better of the two sons of Adam. (Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash`aree, Abu Dawud.)
The Prophet (s) said, “At that time everyone is going to be angry, then take your sword and hit on stones and empty your anger.” Don't empty your anger on your wife, especially men from the Subcontinent and Middle East, be careful, empty your anger on the stone. If you don't have a stone in the house, break the TV and all your problems will be gone, or take your iPhone and break it down. You will feel happy, with no Whatsapp, no messages, no Facebook, no clans, no fans, no gangs, you will be safe! Focus on knowledge and ... What did Prophet (s) say?
Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting and lying down on their sides, and contemplating the creation of the Heavens and the Earth (Surat Aali `Imraan, 3:190-191)
“They meditate on Heavens and Earth.” Don't focus on the Divine Reality until you reach that level. Allah said, “I made under your control human beings, everything in Heavens and everything on Earth.”
We subject to you whatever is in Heavens and in the Earth. (Surat al-Jaathiya, 45:13)
He subjugated all that is in Heavens and Earth under your control. Allah said this! “I am giving this to you, take it!” You go and ask about, “Black magic, black magic,” and Allah said, “I am giving you Heavens and Earth!” When it is under your control, no magician can do anything [to harm you], but they don't and they are depressed. Why? “I have sihr, black magic on me.” Are you following the ayah to remember Allah and contemplate on the creation of Heavens and Earth? If so, that magic will go. .....Will stay there so how can you say the black magic stays there? Don't run after charlatans, there are too many! They want to take your money or to show off that they are awliyaullah, saints, so be careful. May Allah (swt) guide us.
Because we are finishing. So Allah is giving Heavens and Earth to us on a golden plate, if you can say that, and saying, “Take it!” He said:
If the value of this dunya weighed the wing of a mosquito, Allah would never give a cup of water for the unbelievers to drink. (Tirmidhi)
He gave to us whatever is in Heavens and whatever is in Earth. When you do seclusion, every herb...the first thing that comes to you says, “Allah created me to cure this illness, but remember Allah.” If one of you is invited to the House of Commons to sit with MPs, would you be happy or not? And Allah is saying, “I am sitting with you.” Why to run for MPs? He said, “I sit with him who remembers Me.” So remember Allah and you get everything!
May Allah bless us. Once I was speaking about Na`l ash-Shareef, the Prophet’s Holy Sandal, sall’Lllahu `alayhi wa sallam, and after 2-3 months Allah sent someone who gave it. So after Maghrib we will make ziyara for the Na`l ash-Shareef of the Prophet (s) in the first box and in the last box is the ring with the Holy Hair of Sayyidina `Ali (r) so move it here and people can pass.
