How to Be Saved in the Last Days

Jumu`ah Khutbah

Ibn `Abbas (r) related:

Once the Prophet (s) asked for water and the Companions said that there was none. The Prophet (s) then asked for a pot, and it was brought to him. He put his hand in it and spread his fingers. Water filled the pot, gushing from between his fingers, as when Sayyidina Musa (as) struck the rock with his staff. The Prophet (s) told Bilal (r) to call the people; and everyone came to take ablution from this water which emanated from the fingers of the Prophet (s). Ibn Mas`ood (r) was eager not only to make wudu but also to drink from that water. The Companions performed ablution with that water, and everyone prayed.

After the prayer the Prophet (s) stood and said, “O my Companions! Who is the best in faith?” They said, “The angels.” And he said, “And how would they not have perfect faith when they see paradise?” [i.e. it is simple for them to believe]. The Companions then said, “The prophets.” And he said, “How is it that they would not believe when the revelation is coming to them from the heavens?” [i.e. they see Angel Jibril (as) coming to them]. They then said, “Your companions.” And he said, “How would they not believe when they see what they see?” [i.e. they see the Holy Prophet (s) in person and see such miracles as the water pouring from his hand]. They did not speak. He then said, “The best in faith are a people who believe in me though they never saw me. They are mine, my brothers (ikhwaan)” (Tabarani.)

Why? There is another narration:

Yuminoona bee wa lam yarawnee. Yajidoon al-waraqah mu`allaq fa yuminoona bihi. oolaaika `azham al-khalqi `inda-Allah manzilatan aw `azhama’l-khalq eemaanan `inda-allahi yawm al-qiyaamah.

They will believe in me without seeing me, they will find papers hung and believe in it [the Qur’ān]. They have the highest station in Allah’s Presence. These are my brothers, my brothers in Paradise.

This applies to Ummat an-Nabee. Mawlana, may Allah give him long life, often recites this particular hadith:

Abi-Hurayrah (r ) adhaa qaal laa taqoomu’s-sa`ata, hatta taakudhoo ummatee bi akhdhi ’l-qurooni qablahaa shibran bi-shibr wa dhiraa`an bi dhira` faqeela yaa Rasool Allah ka-faarisع wa room fa qaala man an-naasi illa haaoollaa’i-Bukhari.

Abu Hurayrah narrated that Prophet said, “The Sign of the Last Days is when my ummah follows everyone around them, follows what the others are doing as they want to be them. But they are Muslims; they have to know their limits, they have to know their constitution is the Holy Qur’an, it’s not what they (others) are giving them. (Bukhari)

So it means don’t follow what others are following and you will be saved. It is a Sign of the Last Days that everyone today wears western clothes, everyone today does what westerners are say, and no one is listening to awliyaaullah or to `alama ul-ummah (scholars of the ummah).

I will end with this hadith.

An-Anas idhimaami annahu qaal, uhadithakum hadeethan sami`atuاhu min Rasoolullahi (s) laa yuhadithukum ahadun ba`adee annahu sama`hu min rasoolillah (s) qaal qaala rasoolallahi (s) inna min ashraati’s-sa`ati an yurfa`uu’l-`ilm wa yazhhar al-jahl wa yafshoo’z-zinaa wa tushrabu’l-khamr wa yakthuru’n-nisaa wa yuqil ar-rijaal hatta yakoona li-khamseen imraatin qayyimun waahid.

Anas said he will tell you a hadith that no one will tell after him, he heard it from Prophet (s).“One of the Signs of the Last Days is that knowledge will be lifted up, too much ignorance will fill the world, ”

As today there is no more knowledge; it is between only a few sincere and pious people such as awliyaaullah. “,” and today we are seeing too much ignorance everywhere. And “adultery will take place even between the Muslims, men with women, women with men and too much intoxication. And there will be too many women at that time, for every fifty ladies there will be one man.” Narrated in Bukhari.

So too many Muslims are drinking, both hiding and not hiding, some are hiding and some are drinking openly. This is a hadith of Prophet (s), this is not our saying. wa yuqal ar-rijaal hatta yakoona li-khamseen imraatin qayyimun waahid.

That is statistically speaking, the Prophet (s) gave these statistics of the Last Days 1400 years ago.

Wa `an yasira qaal, qaala Rasoolullahi, `Alaykum bi tasbeehi wa tahleeli wa’t-taqdees, Wa `aqidnaa bi ’l- anaamil fa inna hunna masoolaat mustantaqaatun wa laa taghfalnaa fa tanseena ar-rahmah,

The Prophet (s) said, “Fill your time always glorifying and thanking Allah (swt) and make sure your fingers are going to speak for what you did in life and don’t lose by being heedless of Allah (swt) or you will lose His Mercy!”

May Allah (swt) forgive us.

`alaykum bi qillati 'l-kalaam wa laa yastahwiyannakum ash-Shaytan, fa inna tashqeeqa al-kalaam min shaqaaiq ash-Shaytan.

“You must keep your words less and don’t let Shaytan drag you down as speaking too much is from Shaytan.”

Be less talkative, don’t talk too much, zip your mouth, don’t talk, be silent, as Sayyidina `Ali (r) said, as-samt, as-sukoot, “Don’t talk.” Because Shaytan will drag you. “Speaking too much, too many words, nonsense, is from the Shaytan.”
