As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh. Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-`Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu `alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin `alayhi afdal as-salaatu wa ’t-tasleem.
Nawaytu 'l-arba`een, nawaytu 'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu 'l-khalwah, nawaytu 'l-`uzlah,
nawaytu 'r-riyaada, nawaytu 's-salook, lillahi ta`ala al-`Azheem fee hadha 'l-masjid.
Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:59)
O Muslims, Believers! Maa `azhaama hadhaa ‘l-insaan Alladhee nawwarahu wa jamalahu wa ahabbahu Allah `azza wa jal. hadhaa Nabi al-Kareem `alayhi afdalu ‘s-salaatu salaam.
Sometimes you feel something different when you are sitting in a masjid or in a room doing your daily awraad; sometimes you don't feel anything. When you feel something, jump on it because it might be a wali is passing by or might be at a higher level, Prophet (s) is looking and you want to be in a good situation if Prophet (s) is looking. No one can say Prophet (s) cannot see, SubhanAllah wa bihamdi subhaani ’l-`azheem. No one can say that Prophet (s) cannot see. He was with Sayyida `Aisha in the middle of the night and she was doing something with a needle and it dropped from her hand. It was dark at night, there was no light like these lights and Prophet (s) asked, “What are you looking for yaa `Aisha?” She said, “The needle fell from my hand,” and Prophet (s), with the light that Allah has given to him, picked up the needle without reaching the floor, only pulling with his hand and the needle was in his hand. That one who can see from his two eyes in front, similarly he can see from the back of his head, the one who can see into the heart of human beings, where he says:
قال رسول الله ص حياتي خير لكم تحدثون ويحدث لكم ومماتي خير لكم تعرض علي أعمال لكم فإن وجدت خيراً حمدت الله وما وجدت غير ذلك استغفرت لكم.
My life is a great good for you: you relate from it and narrations are related to you. And my death contains good for you as well, for I observe the `amal of my Ummah. If I find good I thank Allah, and if I see other than that, bad, I ask forgiveness for you. (al-Bazzaar in his Musnad)
“I look at what they have done,” every moment in 24 hours duration. This moment we are in now, it turned 24 hours because to us it is now, the present, but in Reality it has already finished the circle on top of the circumference; the second moment is another 24 hours because the Earth is round and turning, so any point on has completed 24 hours. Therefore, we cannot say ‘a moment’ because at that moment Prophet (s) is seeing it as 24 hours. We cannot see it like that but we can understand it is like that because the Earth is turning and there is a point here and another there and as it is turning, meeting the other points it is 24 hours. So the first moment is 24 hours, the second moment is 24 hours, the third, the fourth and so on. So how many moments are there? Infinite. It means he (s) can see infinitely, without limits, when he sees everything!
Awliyaullah say that a Wali, a Shaykh, a Qutb or a Ghawth can see his mureed; even if the mureed is in the East and murshid is in the West, he can see him as clearly as if he is in front of him. Leave that; he can feel and hear the movement of his mureed when he is praying or eating, every movement is like a thunder, big sound. That is why you must be aware of the nazhar of a wali, the vision of a saint.
Beware the vision of the Believer, for he sees with the Light of Allah. (Tirmidhi)
This is not from a scholar, Prophet (s) said, “Beware, the mu’min is sending his gaze with the light that Allah has given to him, bi noorillah.” To see in the dark you use a flashlight. What then do you think about noorillah? Prophet (s) is saying, “Be aware of the vision of a mu’min,” someone who is not a wali yet; there are mu’min who can see through what Allah (swt) dressed them from His Beautiful Name “an-Noor.”
Allah is the Light of the Heavens and Earth. The parable of His Light is as if there were a niche and within it a lamp. (Surat an-Noor, 24:35)
From that Light, the mu’min can see Heavens and Earth:
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مِنْهُ ۚ
He made subservient to you everything in the Heavens and everything in the Earth, all of it.
(Surat al-Jathiyah, 45:13)
He made under your control or command, whatever is in Heavens and Earth: that is for a mu’min. What is for a wali? A wali can see and change by Allah's Order on behalf of the mureed. A shaykh has the power of a general. When you hold his hand for baya`, you are giving him your power of attorney, he can act on your behalf:
Verily, those who swear allegiance to you (Muhammad) swear allegiance only to Allah. (48:10)
“Those who are taking your hand for baya`, yaa Muhammad, you are acting on their behalf, they extended their hand to you as wakeel `alaa ‘l-Ummah.” Therefore, the Prophet (s) acts on behalf of the Ummah:
إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً
Verily, I am making a deputy on Earth. (Surat al-Baqarah, 2:30)
“We have created a khalifah on Earth,” khalifat an-Nabi (s). A khalifah has the ability to do anything; Allah put a representative on Earth, Muhammadun Rasoolullah (s).
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. (Surat al-Fath, 48:29)
“Yaa Muhammad, tell them ‘Muhammadun Rasoolullah,’” finished, period, he is the Messenger. Since when? From the beginning of Creation, he is the Messenger for all Creations. Awliya say what you see in this universe is only like a pinhead. Earth is not even bigger than that, it is smaller and has all Creation, including human beings. If you say there is no other Creation, you are limiting Allah’s Power, you are sinning. Allah created Creations about which no one knows except his Prophet (s). Awliya say one time Khidr (a) saw Jibreel (a), others say it was Adam (a), and he asked, “How big is Allah’s Creation? Do you know when Adam was created?” Jibreel (a) said, “Which Adam are you speaking about? This Adam that you are living in is the last: 124,000 Adams came on Earth before him with their Ummahs. They have been judged and sent either to Paradise or Hellfire, everyone has been judged.”
All praise is due to God alone, The Sustainer of All the Worlds, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace, Lord of the Day of Judgment! (Surat al-Fatihah, 1:3)
What is “Owner of the Day of Judgement?” If we say there is only one Day of Judgment, we are limiting Allah’s Power, Maaliki Yawmi 'd-Deen is in every moment! A Creation comes, it is judged, sent to Paradise or Hellfire, and another comes with full characteristics of another Creation. That is why when they find a skeleton in the earth, they are from other Creations. Astaghfirullah al-`Azheem wa atoobu `ilayh.
So he said, “Which Adam are you asking me about?” He asked, “Is there another Adam?” He said, “Yes, 124,000.” Then Jibreel (a) said, “One day I asked Rabbu ‘l-`Izza Allah (swt), ‘Yaa Rabbee, show me Your Kingdom,’ and the order came to me to open my 600 wings.” Sayyidina Jibreel (a) has 600 wings. When he came to Prophet (s) he used to use two. “Yaa Jibreel, move with 600 wings, with that speed that I gave to you and I will show you My Kingdom.” You cannot imagine that speed, it is more than 300,000 kilometers per second. “I opened my wings and moved in that huge universe with a speed that no one can imagine, there is no way to understand! And 70,000 years later, I became tired.” With two wings, in less than a fraction of a second he came from his position that Allah gave him in Paradise to Prophet (s)! Scientists checked what the smallest fraction of a second would be, can you go smaller? They were able to reduce it to 10-23, where time disappeared and only energy exists. With that power, where there is no more time he moved 70,000 years which has no time limit, so what kind of ‘70,000 years’?
Verily a Day in the Sight of your Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning. (Surat al-Hajj, 22:47)
He went and was unable to reach, he got tired, stopped, and everywhere he looked, he saw very small white, subtle, transparent sand grains covering everything. He said, “Yaa Rabbee, I cannot understand.” Allah (swt) said, “Yaa Jibreel, you only moved in My Creation from one side of the corner to the other, you didn’t see the other Creations yet; you moved one moment in the 70,000 years.” He said, “Yaa Rabbee, I am seeing in the middle of those sand-like, white heavenly crystals a green bird on a heavenly post standing on top, coming and picking up one crystal. It is then going back on the post, swallowing it and coming back down to swallow another grain.” Allah said, “Each grain is a universe that I created. That bird is Sayyidina Muhammad (s).” Jibreel (a) said to Adam (a), “Yaa Adam, who can understand the Reality of Sayyidina Muhammad (s)? He is the one who can see what no one can see, he sees whatever is hidden and knows what Allah wants him to know.”
The stomach is the house of illness. (Arabic proverb)
Prophet (s) said:
The son of Adam does not fill any container worse than his stomach. (Tirmidhi)
So people say, “I have a stomach ache.” What did you eat? Prophet (s) often told Sahaabah (r) to make sure they reserve one-third of their digestive system for water, one-third for air and one-third for food. He said, “We are a group of people who don't eat unless we are hungry and we don’t eat to our fill, we leave one-third of the intestine empty.” He said, “The stomach is the house of illness,” because Allah gave him eyes to see what is in the stomach, in which Allah has put all kind of sicknesses and health problems start in your stomach. Just as you have a nervous system, they say there is another in the digestive system, the magz, “lower brain”; if it is not working well your life is miserable.
Allah (swt) gave him to see, which is the beginning of, “I observe the `amal of my Ummah every moment,” which is 24 hours: as the Earth turns, 24 hours of action passes. The Prophet (s) can see and we cannot. Scientists say there are three-trillion cells that Allah rejuvenates every month through a continuous reaction. The digestive system is controlled by 100,000 billion good and bad bacteria; Prophet (s) saw that and said the stomach is the house of sickness. Who is controlling that?
Awliyaullah remind us to say “Bismillah” before we eat to turn our food into barakah, as most of the food has bacteria and problems. As soon as you put the food in your mouth, 300 angels are assigned to every bite to make it digestable! SubhaanAllah, bacteria are a living species. How do angels know the good bacteria from the bad? Prophet (s) told us about it 1400 years ago, and recently scientists discovered there are 100,000 billion bacteria in the gut, each with its own defense, their own compound and soldiers. That is why when our body is under attack, all the defense comes out to defend it. You take antibiotics to strengthen the defense, and Allah granted Prophet (s) to see that. How can we describe it? When Allah gives He gives. Allah is the Creator, He created that complicated system to show His Greatness.
Truly the creation of the Heavens and the Earth is greater than the creation of Man. (Surat Ghafir, 40:57)
He said, “The creation of Heavens and Earth is more complicated than human beings,” although you have 100,000 billion bacteria in your stomach!
(O Mankind!) Of knowledge, only a little is communicated to you. (Surat al-Israa’, 17:85)
Whatever we have been given from knowledge is a little bit, and we are amazed there are 100,000 billion bacteria. Where are they living, did you check? SubhaanAllah. He gave knowledge to human beings of what they don’t know.
Taught man what he did not know. (Surat al-`Alaq, 96:5)
He said, “With all that knowledge, I gave very little.” The rest of the knowledge He gave to Prophet (s), `Uloom al-Awwaleen wa ‘l-Akhireen, which in Shari`ah means He specified to Prophet (s) everything about science and Prophet (s) gave Shari`ah to his Sahaabah (r).
We will show them Our Signs on the horizon and in their own selves until it becomes evident to them that it is the Truth. (Surah Fussilat, 41:53)
“In the future, We are going to show him what is on the horizon.” Prophet (s) didn’t show the Sahaabah (r) at that time, as knowledge of these sciences was not then available, so how would they understand it? Prophet (s) left it for people in the End of Time. So what kind of knowledge? It is the secrets of knowledge. Every crystal from that ocean Jibreel (a) saw represents a created universe and Prophet (s) is the Messenger! Awliyaullah tried their best to make us understand, but the reality behind the stories is more immense. They can understand, for us this is what we can express.
May Allah (swt) forgive us and teach us from `Ilm al-Ladunni. People ask what that is, we didn’t make it up; rather, Allah (swt) said it in the Holy Qur’an:
فَوَجَدَا عَبْدًا مِّنْ عِبَادِنَا آتَيْنَاهُ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِندِنَا وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا عِلْمًا
So they found one of Our Servants on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Own Presence. (Surat al-Kahf, 18:65)
“We have taught him from heavenly knowledge.” So what do you do? Make a hole in the boat. In Surat al-Kahf, Khidr (a) told Sayyidina Musa (a):
قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسْتَطِيعَ مَعِيَ صَبْرًا وَكَيْفَ تَصْبِرُ عَلَى مَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ خُبْرًا
(The other) said: "Verily you will not be able to have patience with me!" And how can you have patience about things about which your understanding is not complete?" (Surat al-Kahf,18:67-68)
“You cannot go along with me, it is impossible for you.” Musa (a) said, “Why are you are making a hole in the boat?” When you do that what will happen? You will drown and sink. Khidr (a) wants to tell him, “Sink, dive in the Ocean of Submission. The boat will submit, it has no ego.” When you crush your desires, it is like a boat where you open a hole and throw it away. “That is why I was making a hole.” Then Musa (a) asked, “Why are you killing this child?” Khidr (a) said, “He will be bad, Allah will give better! It means kill your ego, the self, your desires, and then I will give you the Treasure.” Allah (swt) made the shaykh the father to hide your amaanat with the wall that was falling down until you become mature.
So the two set out until, when they were in the ship, he made a hole in it. (Musa) said, "Have you made a hole to drown the folk therein? Verily you have done a dreadful thing!"He said, "Indeed, you will never be able to have patience with me." Said [Musa]: "Take-me not to task for my having forgotten [myself], and be not hard on me on account of what I have done!" (Surat al-Kahf, 18:71-73)
So he made a hole in the boat because he knew a king will take every boat by force. Shaytan, Iblees, is that king and he will take you, but when you make the hole, there is no more boat to seize!
And so the two went on, until, when they met a young man, [the sage] slew him -(whereupon Musa] exclaimed: "Have you slain an innocent human being without [his having taken] another man's life? Indeed, you have done a terrible thing!" Surely, you cannot be patient with me. (Surat al-Kahf,18:74-75)
When Musa (a) asked Khidr (a), “Why are you killing the child?” Khidr (a) said, “He is bad for his parents, Allah will give them better,” which means when you kill your desires for Allah (swt), He will give a new spiritual baby that will make you happy in dunya and Akhirah!
Said [Musa]: "If, after this, I should ever question you, keep me not in your company: [for by] now you have heard enough excuses from me." And so the two went on, until, when they came upon some village people, they asked them for food; but those [people] refused them all hospitality. And they saw in that (village] a wall which was on the point of tumbling down, and [the sage] rebuilt it[whereupon Musa] said: "Had you so wished, surely you could [at least] have obtained some payment for it?"
(Surat al-Kahf,18:76-77)
They left and reached a village and asked to be hosted by the residents, who said, “No, we will not host you. Go back from wherever you came,” so Musa (a) and Khidr (s) slept on the road. The next day they saw a damaged wall that Sayyidina Khidr (a) began to repair. Musa (a) asked, “Why are you building this wall for them when they kicked us out, you are doing them a favor?” Khidr (a) said, “Yes, Allah wants to hide their amaanat, jewels they will receive, because their father was pious. For that reason, I am going to give it to them.” It means make yourself pious and praise your shaykh, because he is your father. Allah gave them the treasures because of their father and because of your shaykh, Allah gives amaanat and because of Prophet (s), Allah will give you Paradise! Inshaa-Allah we will be with Prophet (s) in dunya and Akhirah.
How did they count 100,000 billion bacteria? Maybe they took a small piece of intestine smaller than this finger, and then multiplied the mass by the number of bacteria. It was a recent documentary and scientists were amazed. Allahu Akbar! From Allah’s Greatness, put your head in sajda and never lift it up!
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
