`Asr Suhbah (2)
Includes general wazifa for problems and illness.
[Suhbah in progress.] Alhamdulillah that Allah (swt) gave us life to see this Ramadan. In every Ramadan there are different tajallis, not every Ramadan has the same tajalli as the previous one. Every Ramadan has a manifestation Allah manifests from His Mercy that is different from the previous year. Every fasting person will receive manifestations from Allah (swt) from His Beautiful Names and Attributes. What he receives today is different to what he received yesterday. The one who is fasting is continuously being rewarded. Allah (swt) said:
« كل عمل ابن آدم يضاعف الحسنة عشرة أمثالها إلى سبعمائة ضعف. قال الله عز وجل: إلا الصوم، فإنه لي وأنا أجزي به. يدع شهوته وطعامه من أجلي. للصائم فرحتان: فرحة عند فطره، وفرحة عند لقاء ربه. ولخلوف فيه أطيب عند الله من ريح المسك» رواه مسلم
All the deeds of the Children of Adam are multiplied so that there are ten rewards for each good deed increasing up to 700, and Allah said, “Except fasting, for it is done (purely) for Me and I reward for it. He gives up his food and his drink and his sexual desire for My Sake. There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts: a joy when he breaks it and a joy when he meets his Lord. And the breath (of one who fasts) is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.” (Muslim)
Prayer is for you. You have to pray, but fasting is for Allah (swt). Angels cannot carry the reward Allah (swt) will bestow on His servants who are fasting, especially those who are far, in different countries, in the North or the South where they are fasting up to 20 hours. I know people in Norway and Sweden who are fasting 21 hours. Will they be rewarded the same as those fasting 12 hours? No, Allah is Just. He will reward you according to your `amal. When we are fasting, Allah will reward us more than normal days. Even if we pray and do good, fasting is better than any other worship. That is why Allah (swt) said “Fasting is for Me and I reward it.”
Now what He rewards no one knows. Grandshaykh `AbdAllah (q) said what Allah will reward the Ummah He will not show to Prophet (s) because the reward for the Ummah is beyond any understanding. So make sure that you are fasting and for those who have valid excuses or illness, then Allah is Ghafoorun Raheem.
Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an descended as a guide to Mankind and clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong). (Surat al-Baqara, 2:185)
In this month, Allah revealed the whole Qur’an to Prophet (s) on Laylat al-Qadr, that’s why Prophet (s) urged the Sahaabah (r) to look for it. Laylat al-Qadr is better than a thousand months! Allah (swt) gave the whole Qur’an to the heart of Prophet (s); he was strong and did not shake.
Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, verily you would have seen it humble itself and cleave asunder for fear of Allah. Such are the similitudes that We propound to men that they may reflect.
(Surat al-Hashr, 59:21)
All these universes would shake from the heaviness of the tajalli, no one can carry it, but Allah (swt) revealed the Qur’an to Prophet’s heart and he was able to carry it and understand the ahkaam and the asraar, the Knowledge of Before and After of what Allah wants from His Creation.
What Allah Wants from Creation
What does Allah (swt) want from Creation? `Ibaadah. Awliya describe `ibaadah in a strange way. I am reading from Grandshaykh’s notes, in which he said, “Everyone is busy with his prayers. If a real `abid is busy in his prayers and awraad, and tries to struggle against his self (ego), of all that, what is the most important `ibaadah Allah has given to human beings?”
Today I was looking at your daughter. Any child from the moment of birth has to eat and drink. Without eating and drinking what will happen? The child will die. Even in the womb of the mother the child is eating and drinking from his mother's food; therefore, to eat and drink is from the best `ibaadah because if you don't eat and drink you are going to tahluka, destroy yourself, like those people who go on a hunger strike and die. The best `ibaadah is to know Allah gave you time to eat, but to eat in the way Prophet (s) taught us, not to keep grazing like sheep, but to eat in order to make ourselves strong and to defeat Shaytan. If you don't eat you get tired and cannot pray. When you are fasting you get tired, but that is an exception: if they fast and override their tiredness Allah will reward them. Those who have valid excuses not to fast are exempted and can make it up later.
Grandshaykh `Abdullah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani’s (q) General Wazifa for Problems and Illnesses
Grandshaykh (q) said, “Now many people come to me asking for du`a, because people are in difficulties. You have to think of what you need to do when someone comes asking for help for a problem and the help is so easy. This help I recommend to anyone.
First of all, to get away from that sickness or difficulty that came to you, you must recite the Shahadatayn three times: Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadu ‘r-Rasoolullah. Now this is the first attack against your Shaytan, who is whispering to you that you are sick, to destroy the power of Shaytan by three Shahadahs. That makes Iblees so upset, because he was so jealous of Sayyidina Muhammad (s), who was given Maqaam al-Mahmood that he sought for himself!
Then Grandshaykh (s) said, “This will prepare you to retaliate against your difficulties. Your difficulty is not from Allah (swt), it is from your `amal (bad deeds). It accumulates and then it effects you physically.”
Awliyaullah said to recite in this order:
* 3 times Shahadah: Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `abduhu wa Rasooluh
* 70 times Astaghfirullah
* 3 times Surat al-Ikhlaas
* 10 times Laa ilaaha illa ’Llah
* 10 times Salawaat: Allahumma salli `alaa Muhammadin wa `alaa aali Muhammadin wa sallim.
* Immediately send as a trust to Rasoolullah (s): Awda`na hadha ad-dhikr `indaka yaa Sayyidee yaa Rasoolullah wa hiya lanaa wadi`yatan ya man arsalahu ’Llah Rahmatan li ’l-`Alameen.
* 300 times Astaghfirullah
Read three times Shahadah, then you are in position of Tawheed, and then 70 times astaghfirullah, make istighfaar for Allah to take away the difficulty coming on you, then one time Fatihat al-Kitab.
And We sent down in the Qur’an such things that have healing and mercy for the Believers.
(Surat al-’Israa, 17:82)
It means if you make istighfaar and read Fatihah, you are reading what Allah has revealed on Prophet twice: every verse of Holy Qur'an was revealed one time except Fatihah al-Kitab, which was revealed at Meccatu 'l-Mukarramah at the Ka`bah and was dressed by angels, and in Madinatu 'l-Munawwarah at Rawdat an-Nabi (s), which was dressed on Prophet (s), and then at his maqaam.
Surat al-Fatiha is the cure for all problems.
The Prophet (s) said, “Surat al-Fatihah is for whatever you read it.”
Surat al-Fatihah is a cure for every sickness. (Bayhaqi)
If you read it on a sick person it will cure him, and if you read it on yourself it will cure you. Then three times read Surat al-Ikhlaas; it is called ‘ikhlaas’ to show the sincerity, so we are showing, “O My Lord, You are The One Who Cures and The One Who Resolves Difficulty.”
Then read ten times, “Laa ilaaha illa-Llah,” then ten times salawaat, and then you immediately deposit as a trust with Sayyidina Muhammad (s) who will bring it on Judgment Day. If someone reads it on a sick person it will clear him.
Grandshaykh (q) said, “If he were to recite this on himself before sleeping, if a servant reads this adab, Allah (swt) will send him ru'ya saaliha, good inspiration, and he will be in the care of Allah (swt) that night and before he wakes up his soul is in sajda under the `Arsh, as the Prophet (s) said, “When the mu’min says Shahadatayn after he makes wudu and prays two raka`ats, his soul will make sajda under the `Arsh.”
The souls ascend when they sleep and are ordered to make sajda at the Throne. Whoever is in a state of purity makes sajda at the Throne, and whoever is not in a state of purity makes sajda far from it. (Bayhaqi)
When you wake up, Allah sends back your soul with the tajalli that He dressed you with when you were under the `Arsh.
Grandshaykh said these awraad that the Sahaabah (r) kept reading in different ways. Also, the Mashayikh al-`Izhaam, the high level Awliyaullah keep that awraad and never stopped it in their life. If you can do that daily, it will prepare you to be in presence of 124,000 Awliyaullah on that night when you sleep with that adab.
If you do that every night, you get different rewards on each night with those Awliyaullah because:
أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاء اللّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Behold! Verily on the Friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve. (Surah Yunus, 10:62)
It means they will not be deprived of those rewards, Allah (swt) will dress them, reward from His Endless Reward whoever keeps that adab. Ya Allah (swt), this Ramadan make us keep that adab!
Grandshaykh (s) said if a servant falls into a problem, wa law `abada `ibadata 'th-thaqalayn, that even if he prays the prayers of Jinn and Ins it will not take him out of that problem that affected him except by reading that awraad including 300 istighfaar, then he will be pulled out of that difficulty he is facing.
This is a short suhbah, but it is important for us as there are so many different awraad that we don’t know which the Prophet (s) taught the Sahaabah (r), who taught the Taabi`een. Until the Day of Judgement, there will be people keeping these awraad and teaching them to their students. We are weak servants. May Allah dress us with the rewards of all these awraad, even we did not do them but our intention is to do them!
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
