Suhbah after Salat al-Jumu`ah
Alhamdulillahi Rabbi 'l-'Alameen, wa ’s-salaatu wa ’s-salaamu 'alaa ashrafi 'l-mursaleena Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa 'alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.
No one can understand or estimate the high level of the Prophet (s), no one, no way. And Allah (swt) gave us the privilege to sit in dhikrullah and dhikr an-Nabi an-nakoonoo ma`ahum sal Allahu `alayhi wa sallam `alayna yaa Sayyidee yaa Rasoolullah mahabatak! Mahabbatullah, Mahabbat al-Habeeb, Mahabbat al-mashaykh.
Allahumma salli 'alaa Sayyidina Muhammadin wa 'alaa aali Muhammadin wa sallim salaatan tunajeena min jami`al-khayraat.
Although they are not doing anything for which to be praised, Allah (swt) praised this Ummah in Holy Qur'an:
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللّهِ
You were the best of Nations evolved for Mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong and believing in Allah.
(Surat Aali-`Imraan, 3:110)
“You are the best Ummah that has been sent to humanity, calling for good and admonishing what is wrong.” And we are from Ummat an-Nabi (s) so we are under that, alhamdulillah Rabbi ‘l-`Alameen wa ‘l-`aqibatul li ‘l-mutaqeen w’alhamdullahi Rabbi ‘l-`Alameen. So in the Holy Qur’an, Allah (swt) is praising the Ummah of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and saying, “you were, and you are and will always be the best Ummah that came to humanity.” That khitaab is enough for us to be happy, as Allah is praising the Ummah in His presence! To whom is He speaking? He is speaking to us, Ummat an-Nabi (s), and we don’t deserve it. Always we create fitna, confusion, we are heretics, always praising ourselves, but it is better to praise the Prophet (s) than to fight, or everyone giving their opinion, and as they enter confusion and fitna they go out from it the same, with no benefit. Keep love of the Prophet (s) and then slowly, slowly you get benefit. Even if you don't remember the Prophet (s), he still remembers us, and Allah (swt) remembers everyone:
أَنَا جَلِيْسُ مَنْ ذَكَرَنِي
[Allah said to the Prophet], I sit with him who remembers Me. (Hadith Qudsi. Ahmad, Bayhaqi)
This association is for remembering Allah (swt), nothing else. We prayed Jumu`ah, the fard is done, so this is extra, and any extra you do will be taken directly by angels to Allah (swt) and His Prophet (s). We must not lose that opportunity.
May Allah grant us anything without asking. Allah gives and He takes: do you think what Allah gives He takes back? If a friend gives something to a you, will they one day ask to take it back? Yes, they may get upset and ask for it back. But if anyone asks Allah (swt), He gives them more and even if someone did not ask he still gets more, because you are related to the One He loves, Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!
Kuntum khayra ummatin ukhrijat li ‘n-naas taamuroona bi ‘l-ma`roof: Allah (swt) is praising us, saying we are calling for goodness. He was able to say, “laa taamaroona bi ‘l-ma`roof,” but He said “taamaroona bi ‘l-ma`roof,” speaking to His Prophet (s) and from him to us.
May Allah guide us to the best of this time. There is nothing to make you happy except love, and 'love' means special love, not just any kind of love. Love makes us to be nearer and nearer and nearer, until we reach what we need to reach, and the only ones who reached the highest level are Sayyidina Muhammad (s) and his Awliyaullah, and for sure the Sahaabah (r). We have to make our best effort to reach them, through this ayah:
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُواْ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآؤُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُواْ اللّهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُواْ اللّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا
If they had only, when they were unjust (oppressor) to themselves, come to you and asked Allah's forgiveness, and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah indeed Oft-Returning, Most Merciful. (Surat an-Nisaa, 4:64)
Allah is saying, “If you really love Allah, then love Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! Don't mention Me without mentioning Sayyidina Muhammad (s)! I am ordering the whole Creation to mention Sayyidina Muhammad (s)!” On the Lawh al-Mahfooz, in the highest level of Paradise, Allah (swt) said:
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَاللّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Say (O Muhammad), "If you (really) love Allah, then follow me! Allah will love you and forgive your sins, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Surat Aali-'Imraan, 3:31)
Allah put Sayyidina Muhammad (s) there: attiba` an-Nabi, follow the Prophet (s)! We don't know, but when the time comes Allah (swt) will raise this whole Ummah to higher level inshaa-Allah. Awliyaullah have been promised that day will come and those who follow Sayyidina Muhammad (s) will see him in these days, he will show himself, and make sure that everyone, as Grandshaykh `Abdullah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani (q) said, when the Prophet (s) appears in the Day of Judgment, everyone of us will want to run to him, and that is good, but why are we not running to him in dunya?
Just now, someone here forgot his son at home, so what he did? He tried his best to get him in the right time for Jumu`ah. It is from his love, he wanted his son to come and pray Jumu`ah. What about Allah (swt)? He says, Anaa jaleesu man dhakaranee, “I am sitting with the one who remembers Me.” With this kind of thinking, that man is showing his love to Allah and His Prophet (s) and increases the love of his son. So we must all be like that, ya`maroona bi ‘l-ma`aroof, “they call for goodness”. And He didn't say other than goodness, everything is goodness! And may Allah (swt) give us the barakah of this Jumu`ah and make us to be always accessible, and always cursing Shaytan, and praising the Prophet (s) to the highest degree.
Salat al-Tunjina/Salatu Munajiyyah
Allahumma salli `ala sayyidina Muhammadin salaatan tunjinaa bihaa min jamee`i ’l ahwaali wa’l-aafaat, wa taqdee lanaa bihaa min jamee`i ’l-haajaat, wa tutahhirunaa bihaa min jamee`i ’s-sayyi’aat, wa tarfa`unaa bihaa `indaka `alaa ’d-darajaat, wa tuballighunaa bihaa aqsaa ’l-ghaayaat min jamee‘i ’l-khayraati fi ’l-hayaat wa ba`d al-mamaat.
O Allah! Exalt Muhammad with blessings that deliver us from every fear, and by their means fulfill our every need, and by their means purify us from every sin, and by their means raise us to the highest stations, and by their means make us attain the furthest degrees in all that is good in this life and in the life after death.
That du`a is covering (applies to) everything, so if anyone has problems, ask Allah (swt) with this du`a and He will accept and you will be happy.
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh to everyone overseas, from India, to Pakistan, to Sri Lanka, to Indonesia, to Turkey, from every place, may Allah (swt) give us the power to mention the Name of the Prophet (s) and to go to the masjid or to make your house a masjid and mention the name of Sayyidina Muhammad (s).
Wa min Allahi ‘t-tawfeeq bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
