Atee`oollaha wa atee`oo 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59)

Dastoor, madad yaa Sultan al-Awliya, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani.

Dastoor, madad yaa Sultan al-Awliya, Mawlana Shaykh `Abd Allah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani.

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh.

Everything has a beginning and an end. Only the Creator is the One for Whom no one can describe the beginning and or the end, as He is the Beginning, the Eternal. Everything else including us has a beginning and an end. I was being told just now that someone wrote an article that the universe is infinite. Whatever it is, whether infinite or not, it has a beginning and an end. In our perspective and our limited knowledge, we can say that it is infinite for physicists in theory, but in Allah’s (swt) Vision, when He created the universe, it had a beginning and so it must have an end. Allah said in the Holy Qur’an:

كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ وَيَبْقَى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

Kullu man `alayhaa faanin, wa yabqa wajhu rabbika dhul jalaali wa ‘l-ikraam.

All that is on Earth will perish, but will abide (forever) the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honor. (Surat ar-Rahman, 55:26-27)

It is not only the meaning that “whoever is on Earth will cease to exist,” disintegrate, but what Allah has created will cease to exist.

Limanil-mulku al-yawma lillahil-waahidil-Qahaar.

Whose will be the dominion that Day? That of Allah, the One the Irresistible. (Surat al-Ghafir, 40:16)

When Allah (swt) will destroy what He has created and this universe, Allah is praising by Himself to Himself saying, “To Whom is the Kingdom today?” If the universe is infinite, it is claiming lordship, but Allah (swt) said, “Everything will cease to exist, but what will abide (forever) is the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honor.” Only Allah (swt) is The One Who will exist, because He is the Creator, He is not dependent on anything, He is independent and everything is dependent on Him and so when He pulls His Support, everything will fall apart. At that time, as Allah says in the Holy Qur’an, “O you people who claimed to be kings, presidents and ‘superpower,’ and a zillion superpowers, there is nothing left of you! You are finished, nothing has been left of you!”

When Allah created Sayyidina Israfeel (a), his Trumpet was in his mouth and he is just waiting for the order to come and blow into it. And when he does, everything will cease to exist, disappear; not only faint or die, but it will disappear, this whole universe will disappear! Then Allah will say, “To Whom does the Kingdom belong this day? To physicists, magicians, presidents or kings? To no one but to the Destroyer, the Vanquisher!” So we have to think that one day in our small mind in a small way, are we living forever? Yesterday I was speaking with someone in Los Angeles, they are preparing a program. This person preparing the program loves me very much. Today he is between life and death, as he suffered from a severe heart attack, but inshaa-Allah he will live. You don’t know when you are going and everyone is. No matter how much you enjoy this dunya, one day you are leaving, because you are not going to live forever. If you could live forever, then that is another story. Is there anyone living forever? No, not even angels.

Then Allah (swt) will order `Azra’eel (a) to take his own soul by himself. Although he will take his own soul very slowly so as not to cause too much pain, he will still feel the pain. He will say, “If I knew that this is going to this painful, out of mercy to people I would take it more slowly.” The Prophet (s) described the way the soul of the believer is taken from his body as, “The soul of a mu’min comes out like a hair from ghee,” meaning with no `adhaab or punishment. But we have to think that we must fulfill our obligations. If you are not going to die, then don’t do your obligations. Is it possible? No, because everyone is going to die, so do your obligations.

Prophet (s) said:

The one holding his religion firmly in his hand is like someone holding a burning coal. (Tirmidhi)

He has to be patient in these times. In these times, subhaanAllah, they make negative positive and positive negative! One day I was attending a book publishers’ convention and there was a man sitting here, a woman sitting there and another woman sitting on the other side, here.

The man said, as he introduced everyone to me, “This is my partner.”

I said, “Welcome.” I asked her, “How much salary is he giving you?”

Those sitting next to me pushed me and said, “She is his girlfriend.”

Look at how they are not feeling shy. If you don’t have a girlfriend, you are not a man or vice versa (if you are a woman without a boyfriend). Look at the immorality, no moral excellence! What is shown as good is evil and what is shown as evil is good. That is al-Maseeh ad-Dajjaal who will make fire to look like Paradise and Paradise to look like fire. We are in that time, because we are leaving one day and if we are asked (give account to Allah), then we will be finished, as Prophet (s) said:

من حوسب عذب

Who will be judged will be punished for sure. (Bukhari)

May Allah protect us, forgive us and make our hearts to be clean and pure, that will be enough.

Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
