A`udhu billah min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem

Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem

Nawaytu'l-arba`een, nawaytu'l-`itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-`uzlah lillahi ta`ala fee hadha'l-masjid 

 As I said in previous session, that always we have to go back to the lecture that we said before because they are a continuation of each other. So now we have given like six lectures already that follow each other from Grandshaykh’s notes.

As we said before that Allah swt gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) Ummah, a nation that He already forgave them, when He created them He has forgiven them.

In the eyes of Allah swt, we are not mature. Mature is only for awliyaullah and higher Sahaba and higher prophets. Maturity is for us still we are like children and children how are they going to be judged. If you take a child to court they asked, “how old are you?”  He says, “I am 14, 15.” They say, “go home.” Even if he did something, any forbidden. If he is an adult, 18, they take him in.

So awliyaullah they are the adults. Sahaba are the adults, prophets and messengers are the adults. We are still under the age of maturity. So when Allah created the souls on the Day of Promises when He said, “Am I not your Lord?” we said, “yes!” but Allah knows we are not mature. Because anyone who makes a sin is not mature? How can you do something that people cannot accept if you are not mature. How can you do something if in the Divine Presence you promised that “O my Lord I am accepting You as my creator and I am accepting Your prophets.” How are you going to make sins after that? You cannot.

That is why awliyaullah from that time, Allah knows those are going to be mature, they are not going to be questioned. You are not going to be questioned. Your shaykh is going to be questioned. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim is going to be questioned, not us. Why we took his hand?!

We are weak servants we have no power. And what Mawlana Shaykh is going to say, “I am a weak servant. You are the Seal of Messengers; you are the one who went for Isra and Mi’raj, these are my honorable heedless students; I am bringing them to you.”

Why sheep in the flock, the shepherd is in front and the sheep are behind when they graze too much what do they do? [they get fat?] Other than fat? [they get sick] They discharge. What does the shepherd do? They collect the discharge and put it around the trees to grow up “organic”.

We are like every movement we are discharging sins. Awliyaullah are like shepherds they are not discharging anything. They are responsible of the sheep and what do they do? They clean them and bring back in the evening clean. They clean them and bring them in presence of the Prophet (s) clean.

So when we die what will happen? When we die we are sent to the grave, but in these seven breaths, that people are looking at us and while a person is dying and giving out his breath not taking in anything, in these seven breaths, how much Allah swt stretches the time from zero to 137 years. Awliyaullah they can see their students, they can see how much their lives have been stretched.

An example that happened in front of my eyes, one time. In 1971, it was Sha`ban. And usually in these 3 months Rajab, Sha`ban and Ramadan, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim goes to Cyprus to be with his people there for these 3 months. And one day in Sha`ban he called us and said I am at the airport, come and pick me up. Strange. He never comes in Sha`ban. We went to airport and picked him up and on the way back he said, "your father is tonight going to die. I have been sent by Prophet and Grandshaykh to bury him.” Strange huh? Is it not strange? fala yudhhiru ` ala ghaybihi ahad.         

عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا  إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدًا

`alimu al-ghaybi fala yudhhiru `ala ghaybihi ahadan illa mani ’rtada min rasoolin fa innahu yasluku min bayni yadayhi wa min khalfihi rasada.

"He (alone) knows the Unseen, nor does He make any one acquainted with His Mysteries, Except an apostle whom He has chosen: and then He makes a band of watchers march before him and behind him. Al-Jinn [72:26]

Allah doesn’t show anyone on his decisions or will, except someone whom he likes from his messengers. Allah gives them what he likes.

Prophet is giving and Grandshaykh giving, saying “O your father is going to die” Grandshaykh was at that time alive. Grandshaykh didn’t say. Grandshaykh in Damascus, Mawlana Shaykh in Cyprus and we are in Beirut. How did he know? Allah gives those who are mature secrets. Children what can you give from secrets. They don’t appreciate it. They expose it. So if we cannot be responsible they cannot give us anything. They know you will lose your trust, they give to your shaykh, to your guide. So in our hands is nothing. On what are we going to be judged?

One student of Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه died and the two angels came to the grave asking hymns questions. Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه. They said, " to the deceased. Man rabbuk? What do you have to answer? “Allah swt.”

They said, "man rabbuk?” He said, "Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه” man nabbiyuk?” “Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه!” “What is your book?” “Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه” “O that one has to go to hellfire.” They were taking him to go to Hellfire, and Abdul Qadir Jilani قدس سرّه appeared and said, "why are you taking my mureed to hellfire?” He said, “When you asked him ‘who is your Lord?’ he said, ‘Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani!’ When you asked ‘man nabbiyyik?’ he said, ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani!’ When you asked him ‘ma kitabuka?’ he said, ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani!’ So come and ask me. If you come and grind him he is going to say ‘Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani!’ He is finished, he is my student. Why didn’t you come to me? Because I am going to grind them until they know that they are connect to me and I am connected to the Prophet and the Prophet (s) is connected to Allah. Go back he is my student.”

And they heard a voice coming from Allah, “Send him to Paradise.”

Because he has a strong lawyer to pull him back. So awliyaullah they are responsible. Especially when you do your best for your guide, then Allah swt will send from His generosity for you. So Grandshaykh, may Allah bless his soul, ordered Mawlana to come from Cyprus because of what we have done and what my father did and what my family dif for Grandshaykh. It is a payback. Go and bury him. But to us we are heedless. Mawlana my father is ok. Mawlana said, "no, 7 o’clock he is going to die.” So he said to call the family. And we called them and at 15 minutes to 7, Mawlana came from the second floor to the seventh floor and entered and sat by my father. At that moment my father is feeling pain in his chest and we put him in bed. Mawlana Shaykh began to recite Yasin. As soon as he finished Yasin my father died. And my family most of them are doctors. They checked him. We wanted to move him and my mother was crying. And Mawlana said, "cover your heads all of you (to the women)! And the rest of you sit well! The presence of Prophet and Grandshaykh is coming.”

I was at that time 25. So everyone was very carefully sitting. At that moment, how do you know the presence of Prophet and Grandshaykh is there? You cannot see, they see. But you feel. Because with their power we are able to feel.

So what happened at that moment. My father was from lying - sitting. 10 - 15 seconds only. He sat back and everyone was afraid. That person is sitting and he is going to eat everyone. Everyone was afraid but we knew that Mawlana Shaykh said the Presence of Grandshaykh and the Presence of the Prophet (s) is appearing because of the service that he did. So he sat sitting for 10-15 seconds and goes back.  And Mawlana Shaykh said, "When Prophet and Grandshaykh were coming. Out of respect he was sitting up.” How this is after death and there were a lot of doctors that checked him? How much that time was there that for him, how much that time was stretched for the appearance of the Prophet (s) and Grandshaykh to come and he is sitting there, what was the discourse the conversation or what took place there? How long it took?

That is why for Allah swt time is nothing. He stretches one Day, in Holy Qur'an to 1000 years and He stretches another Day, in another surah to 50,000 years:

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ  

Wa Inna yawmin inda rabbika ka-alfi sannatin mimma ta`udoon. Verily a day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning. Al-Hajj, 22:47

تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ

inna i`ddata ash-shuhu `inda—Allah ithna `ashar shahra.

The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years. [Al-Ma'arij 70:4]

In one verse one Day is one thousand years and in another one Day is 50,000 years. How much was the time when his soul came back? It might be one year.

So when someone dies, don’t think, as we look from outside, someone is dead. No, that becomes a “no time”-zone. And everything opens up. So when we die they take us to the grave.

We go back to our story, to our suhbat. They take us to the grave and all our body is dissolved, disintegrated. Only one bone, the coccyx, it doesn’t disappear, that small bone is still there, and when Allah swt wants to create back that creation for Resurrection Day when everyone appears in Allah’s presence Allah will rain a shower that goes above the earth 70 yards for 40 days. Everyone still is underground and the rain is covering the whole earth from all side as high as 70 yards. That means the earth will be underwater. That is hadith of the Prophet (s). The earth will be underwater, we cannot see earth anymore. So what can we see? Since the earth is not flat, it is round so any place looks to you flat but in reality it is round. That will be completely covered with a rain, a rain of sperm and every sperm will connect with its bone, with its coccyx and every sperm knows which bone it must connect with. How that drop of water knows which bone is related to it? To know which one is its partner. Think 70 yards of water. Can you count the drops here, in this [points to his glass], it consists of water and every drop knows where it has to go, which coccyx.

The name of the person to whom that drop belongs will be written on the drop and will be written on the coccyx. And Allah leaves them 40 days until they come back a new body. Because the old body is gone. That is the wisdom of eliminating the body. If Allah wants He can make the body to stay. But He is making you to come back from a new body. That body is clean. It means that body has no sin on it. That body didn’t do any forbidden. It is a new one coming up. For 40 days until Allah will order Israfil to blow in the Trumpet with the Lordly breath that Allah gave to Israfil he blows in the Trumpet and every soul in that breath goes inside its body inside the [combination of] sperm and coccyx. How does each soul know where to go? It is a new body which didn’t commit any sin and the soul comes back. That is why, “O Muhammad (s), I gave you before I sent them to dunya they are forgiven, they are pure.”

When you die, Allah swt will take your dress, that dress you have dressed your body with forbiddens. He throws it and shreds it and it doesn’t appear anymore and sends a new body that has no kufr in it and no sins and no forbiddens in it. Allah creates back human beings with His power, with his qudrah. So Allah swt before when He ordered Israfil to blow in the Trumpet, he blows in the Trumpet and Allah keeps everyone underground for 40 days, keeps them under and He calls the Prophet (s). And He sends seven angels to Sayyidina Muhammad (s): Sayyidina Jibreel, Sayyidina Mikail, Sayyidina Israfil, Sayyidina Azraeel, Sayyidina Ridwan, Sayyidina Malik and the angel of death, and two of them considered one (Ankar and Nakeer), he sends these seven angels to the Prophet (s).

Sayyidina Jibreel is in charge of revelation, Sayyidina Mikail in charge of rain, Sayyidina Israfil with the buq [trumpet], Sayyidina Azraeel angel of death, Sayyidina Malik for the Fire, Sayyidina Ridwan for Paradise and Ankar and Nakeer. And he sends them to him and the first thing the Prophet (s) says is “what about my Ummah?” No Allah kept them now, for 40 days they are underground. He is calling him to His presence. He goes into sajda, shukran ya rabbee that you didn’t call my Ummah. Else they are going to be finished.

And when the Prophet (s) comes in the Presence of Allah calls, “O Muhammad (s)! I judged them already. Don’t worry. It is finished.” Where are they doing to go? “Don’t worry I judged them already. I give them to you, take them under your shafa`a.” Then the Prophet (s) will take them under his shafa`a and we explained that many times.

And when He says, “I judged them,” He doesn’t need to say, “I judged them with [the power of] kun fayakoon.” He [Grandshaykh] said if awliyaullah say that Allah says kun fayakoon they are humiliating Him. You cannot say even, that Allah has Power that says, “Kun fayakoon.” That is humiliating, He doesn’t need to say “Kun.” Before He says “Kun,” everything will happen as He wishes without Him mentioning that Word.

So then Allah will call the Prophet (s) from Sham, from Madina. Allah’s Presence, will descend - His `Arsh will descend over Sham where the family of the Prophet is buried there in Damascus there where the Ahl al-Bayt have been buried there, the `Arsh will come there. He said He will call his Prophet there to Sham. And that is why the Prophet (s) said, "awwalahu Sham wa akhirahu Sham.” The beginning is Sham and the end is Sham.” “Tooba liman kaana lahu manzil fee ash-Sham - Good tidings for anyone who has a small place for even a goat in Sham.” Then at that time of that suhbat he ordered me and Shaykh Adnan to go buy a grave in Sham. And he said buy a grave and put your name there. And you go there you can see there me and my brother’s grave in the graveyard of the Prophet Sayyidina Dhil Kifl where he is buried.

“Here is laying down Hisham Kabbani - huna yarqud Hisham al-qabbani wa huna yarqud adnan al-qabbani - and here is laying down Adnan Kabbani. 1971.” We are already there. He said, “there is a light that appeared to Grandshaykh up from the earth seven feet and that light is always there over Sham.”

And insha-Allah we will continue that next time about the importance of that light.

That is why I said these lectures are a series, you have to read what was there before else you cannot get it.
