Do Not Run after Temporary Pleasures

Sultan al Awliya

Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al Haqqani

Inshaa-Allah, may Allah protect you and have mercy on you. Are you leaving tomorrow? (Yes.) Safe journey! May the Lord protect you here and Hereafter. Yaa Rabbee! (du`a)

O my Lord’s servants! Welcome to you! All of us are coming and going. We appear from here, and disappear from there. Don’t be cheated by wanting a long life or to be rich, by your beauty, or by wanting to be handsome. Everything in this life is temporary, not eternal.

Today we are here, tomorrow we will be there; this month or year here, next month or year there. Don’t run after temporary pleasures. There is no pleasure here! You will find real, never-ending pleasure, satisfaction, and a sweet life in the Divine Presence by keeping Allah Almighty’s orders. May Allah protect you.

Try to be good ones; do not be from bad ones. There are two (heavenly) tablets: one for good servants and one for bad servants. Try to have your name written on the tablet of good servants, and not on the tablet of bad servants. Okay?

(Baya`)

Fatihah.
